Dear Chris,
I visited your concert in Stuttgart on 1st. December 2006, it really was great and I enjoyed each minute. I hope you will continue the tour in germany in 2007, because I want to get to your concert once more. I love your new album "The Storyman"
and some of the songs I added to my favourites at once, for example "My fathers eyes" "The mirror of the soul" and of course "The Storyman".

Dear Chris, I must have been a good girl this year, Santa brought me tickets to Art on Ice and your authorised bigraphy that I have waited so long for, I am looking forward to reading it and reading books is something I don't usually do, it must be tme that there was a new one out as I know that I am out of date with the one I have just got.
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and that 2007 will be even better than 2006, look forward to seeing you in Feb.

Christmas gifts

Dear Chris,

Normally I do receive NO Christmas gifts. But I must admit that already years ago I had told my family that there is no need to buy anything for me.
But this year I got these unexpected gifts - all have to do with you. Sorry - that is the reason for letting you know. The gifts:

1. A wonderful email from Sweden (message no. 30260 on the yahoo site). :-)
2. A DVD (fanmeeting and parts of the soundcheck - Dortmund; November, 25) from Dinslaken. :-)
3. Christmas wishes from you (MOtL December, 20). :-)))
4. A postcard from Eisenberg. :-)
5. An Australian calendar from Sydney which arrived surprisingly here via mail last Thursday. Now I can think of an Australian Chris de Burgh fan :-), of Australia, of 'my' Socceroos during the whole forthcoming year - 2007. And I can think of you (the connection) - of course. :-) And it will be great fun: Imagine! I live in Germany and I look at the August picture: snow ... :-)
6.And finally: 6 old Chris de Burgh records (vinyl - no albums) from Philipp, my oldest son,: Don't Pay The Ferryman, Where Peaceful Waters Flow, The Lady In Red, Sailing Away, Carry Me and Diamond In The Dark. :-)
Unfortunately we don't have a record player anymore but I love the covers: "Oh when I was younger - so much younger than today..." :-)

Missing you, Gerlinde - the shy village girl

Hi dear Chris,

I've haven't been able to give you flowers at your concert in Amsterdam, so this is what I wrote on the card.

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you're going to get".
It's from the movie Forrest Gump, but I read it some time ago in the newspaper in an obituary. A Young boy had died, his name was Forrest. Strang enough I felt so connected with his parents just because my boys were the same age and I am a fan of that movie aswell.

Maybe that explains why I felt so connected with you. Your songs, the words you use, it could be my words and my feelings.

I hope one day I can shake your hand and look you in the eyes, telling you how must I like your music.

Who knows we meet at Mautitius. I know you love that island. It's my brothers favorite island aswell. That is why he is going to get married there on January the fifth in Hotel Le Victoria.

So maybe we meet.........maybe we meet some other time, after all life is like a box of chocolates.

Merry Christmas.

All your whole life long.

Dear Chris!
Yesterday evening we watched the Carmen Nebel Show.
As you can see in our guestbook entry from the 19th of December one Christmas-wish we had for you was time with your friends. We never thought this wish to come true the way it did in Rostock: We are so thankful, that God sent your old friend Robert Williams whom you had not seen for 20 years, all the way from Antigua over to you. We were so moved by the little tears of joy rolling down your face.
So have an unforgettable and wonderful time with your friend.
And once again: A joyful and blessed Christmastime to you and all your loved ones.
Kind regards

Hey Chris,

I saw you live so many years ago when you opened a show for Asia. I went to see YOU but most of the others were there for Asia. By the end of your set, the whole place was there for you. You brought the house down and that remains the single greatest live performance I have ever seen. Being a fan in the States is not always easy. I found "The Road to Freedom" only a few days ago!!!! What a fine, fine album. Your music has moved me and made me think, laugh, cry and wonder for over 30 years. Thank you and God Bless!

Dear Chris,

Christmas only then begin if we open our hearts, and the hands are empty. Then only the hand this is free, not with apparent important things loading can I reach out my hand the other people and with an open heart warmth and joy give and receive. It can become Christmas now on earths and peace into the heart of people.
With these good thoughts the coming from my heart I wish you and your family wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year 2007.
Chris, I am happy this it you gives in this world. Without you, for me unthinkable. Your messages in the songs are important and appeal to mankind. We have just this one world we must get her with all her beauty. Most understand your songs, this one not understanding this one hearts are closed. Maybe trough sorrow, pain or hate. Your songs are how one light in the darkness, you carry it into the hearts from the people - a homage to the love. Please still write many songs and stories, follows your heart.
It is good you sing your songs all over the world. Some hearts will open you carry the message to all people. We need more people we you, and the world would be better. Take care of yourself well my storyman. In my heart, you have a big place forever. The storyman CD is so beautiful there is only a motto continuation follows storyman 2 and 3.

With love

Dear Chris,
I wonder, why the Storyman album is hardly to find in the shops, already.
On the day, when it was released, all the CD-shops in my town offered it, and two days later it was out everywhere already. But, after that any shop in my town seem to get it again.
How is this possible ? And is it the same in other places too ?
I?m really suspicious about the charts nowadays, because it seems to me, that there are always the same few musicians-( if one can call them musicians !!!)- and always the same kind of music -( if one can call it music !!!) which are pushed to the top, not only by the media, but also by all the shops, that doesn?t offer anything else.
I think, there are always a lot of people, that visit CD-shops without really knowing what they are looking for, and I?m sure many of them would choose Chris? music, and especially the Storyman album these days, when it was only offered to them !!!
Best wishes,

petra

Dear Chris,
The lyrics of your songs are exceptional and so real. Where do you get them from? Real Life Experiences? It must be that. Currently I am undergoing a very bad painful experience, where suddenly i am separated from the man i love and who i was supposed to marry due to pressures beyond my understanding and control. I love him with all my being and i am so hurt. He also went back to his country. I was listening to your song: "The Same Sun" and it touched me so much, it made me cry. It is exactly what i want to say and exactly conveys my feelings. And i thought based on what inspiration did you get your lyrics? It must be something very real. Also your song: "I see you everywhere" touched me. It expresses exactly what I'm going through. "Forevermore" used to be our song, our motto iin life. You are really great. Your new CD "The Storyman" is excellent, the idea of the stories is so unique and meaningful. Your songs all have an in-depth meaning. Would be so great if you can have a concert in Egypt, by the pyramids. I am sure it woul be a great success. For any help or more information, please contact me. I have access to all the necessary resources in case you plan to do that concert. Thanks and keep it up.

Dear Chris,
I've seen you looking into the camera yesterday and it felt as warm as the question for the time the last weeks. Just wanted to tell you that I am very pleased, that you choosed the song "Spirit" for this show. It is a song, which surely can touch the heart of family-members who had lost someone in the past, like me too and I hope this song from you can dry some tears in families who had lost children through Leuk?mie as it was the topic of the show. We're always happy to see when there is a chance of healing for a child or someone who wants to live. And that is really good what Jose Carrera makes to help with all the helpers around him. Thank you for beeing part of this show this year again. I think I must sort my feelings a little bit before christmas now, because it really touches my soul behind a television screen, when you look into the camera two weeks after I have heard you so much live!:)

Hello,

I saw your concert in Amsterdam on the fourth of december. I really enjoyed the mix of new and old songs.

It was the fist time for me although I've known and loved your music for quite some years now.

To prepare myself a bit I bought "the storyman" the moment I saw a copy and listened to it almost every day on the train on my way home.

What gave me a particularly good feeling during the concert was the fact that I felt like being part of one big family.

I hope you will go on making music for a long long time.

Dear Chris,
I have seen you (with my mother) in Rostock to Carmen Nebel in SAS Radisson Hotel in front of the lifts. Maybe you can remind you. We live in the near to Erfurt, we were with the train in Rostock an we saw you also in Bayreuth.. fantastic. Oh, I forgot to say, we were in the last year in Weimar to your solo-evenig. It was so great and unbelievable. Will you sing anytime in Weimar again?
In Rostock I would talk gladly a little big longer with you, but I wouldn?t take away your time, of course you would spend time with your old friend (the friend with the ship).
I hear your music since middle of the 80?s. All the time in the former GDR it was very difficult to pay one of your album. Only with private connection I got some songs and saved it on a tape. It was a big treasure for me. All the bigger was my joy after the political turn, as I paid my first cd, it was "spark to a flame" :-))

Chris, your concerts, your songs, this short meet with you, the kind how you are stay like a tatoo in my heart.
I hope so of a concert in Weimar again.

It was very nice to meet you.
For you and your family: Stay healthy and have a good time. Wish you a wonderful Christmas.

Thank you so much for all, what you do.

Many lovely greetings from Ilmenau in "Th?ringer Wald"

Hello Chris, hello everybody,
I read for a while this guestbook.
Julia asked which song it maybe...with the war movie that was shown during ( Julia?s posting was 2006/12/03 - 20:19)
I think it must have been the triology: The Leader, The Vision, What about me, released on the album "Into the light" from 1986.
As many others here, I had the chance to see your concerts in Dortmund and D?sseldorf. I was so lucky to get front row tickets in November 2005 (!)
thanks to Martin on this way, who reserved and ordered my tickets.
You spent again ~evenings to remember ~
And without you and your team and the many helpers in the background..it has been another boring evening ~g~ as you said in D?sseldorf.
Thanks a lot ...
Markus

Dear Chris,
Well the tour is over in Germany now and I had the chance to see three concerts of this tour. It was wonderful that you and your band and in the last concert Krystina Miles were part of my holidays this year. I made some photos as a unforgetable memory, in some parts the film behind the band and I would like to share these film from a view out of the audience with you. So you can get them, when you open my homepage.
It had been wonderful three concerts Chris and you choosed the combination between old and new songs very well. I was totally surprised about it all, well like so many others.
I hope there will soon be a chance to see you again and I am waiting for you in Germany once again.
Thank you very much for these wonderful concert-nights we could spend with you this year!:)) You asked me there how late it is. "It's just five past dreams Chris, when a dream came true.

Dear Chris,

I simply can't refrain from writing you... This is just to let you know how much I miss the concerts and actually imagine, they are still running through my mind. Everything is still working, time and again single parts are coming up. Especially "The Leader/The Vision/What about me" has anchored in my ears, all the time the music and lyrics are circling in my head. If I want to immerse back into the concert I just have to put on this particular song and I close my eyes and I see the pictures again. When it comes to the last part I see you sitting on the chair at the right side of the stage directly in front of me and watching the film yourself. Then you slowly leave the stool, turn round to the audience and shout as loud as you can "What about me? And you? And the ones that we love...". And I actually can hear the sound of the guitars, that's all still so lively in me. What an extraordinary performance of this song.
From now on I can only listen to it with full sound because it's just the way it can unfold and develop properly.

Well, now this was exactly one week ago, hard to believe, and rather soon it will be even longer ago... I don't want that to happen, I'm refusing!
Oh, how I wish to be right back again in the concert..........

Hopefully you are safely at home and certainly you are glad to be with your family again.

Yours, always missing you,
Julia (19) from Germany

With the time passing I'm so afraid of that I might not remember details anymore...

Hi Chris,
well I arrived home last night at about 22:30 hours after a great 2.5 weeks 'touring' around Germany with you!!!

I had soo much fun, but gosh it was sooo tireing and emotional as well. For the first week, as you know I was with Andrea on a 'girls only' week, and that was great fun!! Stewart flew out to join me from Dortmund onwards and also from there for the next 8 days or so we were travelling and staying with another great friend, Konni. We had such a fun time, then for the last 2 days we travelled with Claudia who so kindly offered to drive us to Amsterdam and Luxembourg, and then drop us off at the airport at Frankfurt Hann the next day.

The weather was kind to us most of the time, and it was quite warm so the forcast told us, but of course i was still cold, as I feel it soo easily.

This was the first time that Stewart or I had ever been to a concert in Amsterdam or Luxembourg. Lets just say, Amsterdam was good, but it was a shame that the security would not let us take anything to the stage, including a bottle of wine that I had decided to buy you for that night :-(( Still we made good use of it after the show as the 3 of us sat and drank it!!! Luxembourg was a fantastic last night to a great tour and I am soo glad that we decided to make the long journey from Amsterdam to there as this show was one of the best on the tour.

I cannot even hazard a guess as to how many miles/kilometers we must have covered in those 2.5 weeks but it was an awful lot!!! But of course it was all worth it:-)) I guess there are some people who will think we are daft to use our 'annual leave' from our jobs to tour with you, but i for one love it, and it is all about being with great friends as well:-)))))

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the great enjoyment that you have given me in the last weeks, and I know that I will be 'Missing You'within a very short time!!

Gosh i really cannot express in words what I felt about the last weeks. I guess i'm still too tired and emotional and totally shattered. Heaven knows how you cope with the late nights and then early mornings....or maybe you did not have to get up as early as we did, to travel to the next venue etc!!!

Anyhow, the highlight of the shows for me was when you sang 'Raging Storm' with Krystina Myles', as i absolutely adore this song :-)) The visual effects and the videos were also very good, especially in 'The Leader' and I loved the way that you presented this song, by sitting on a chair at the edge of the stage while actually watching the video on the back of the stage at the same time. It was a very powerful presentation indeed.
The parts that i was not so sure about was the 'Mirror Of the Soul'where you rise to the top of the stage on a platform. I have to admit to not really liking it in Birmingham but it did kind of grow on me as the shows went on!!! and it was 'facinating' to see how you grew in confidence while performing this song. Not the actual soong of course, that was always good, but the first night in Birmingham, you looked soo nervous up there on the platform, but by the end of the tour you looked quite at ease up there'on the alter high' and you didn't even need to hold on and you actually danced around a bit, but I was always worried that you might lean to far forward and then topple over the edge, but thankfully you never did!! or I might have had to use my 'nursing skills' to make you better!!!!

The only other part of the show that I did not really like at all was the 'faces' that were shown on the back of the stage during 'Living In The World'. They were sooo big, that alot of them were hard to even recognise as fellow fans, and compared with the 'Read My Name' bit 2 years ago where 'our' names appeared on the back of the stage, this section was a big dissapointment for me, and not for the reason that I did not even see my face once, but just for the fact that the faces were way way to big and distorted in my opinion. But of course this is just my own opinion.

There are some shows that still stand out as being maybe a bit better than some of the others, and this I guess is always down to the audience. The shows that stand out in my memory right now as being just that bit 'extra special' are Dortmund of course, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and the final night in Luxembourg.

Well once again thanks for making my holiday soo special.
I hope now that the tour is over your 'bronchial' infection will clear up for good and that you will feel much better....if not my name is 'Sr. Chris Williams' and my adress is.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hi Chris! I've been to the shows in dortmund (25.nov.) and quite spontanous in d?sseldorf (3.dec.). In Dortmund I had the privilege to give you my flowers with the comment that I've had the song "In a country churchyard" sang by the gospel choir im member in at my wedding - uuh, what a sentence ;-) .You commented that to the audience and it made me feel "personally recognized" and I really "danced" a few days! Thank you for that!
You didn't play that song in d?sseldorf!!! :-( It was a shame, not only because I was "prepared" and wanted to give you the notes for the choir and a picture of our wedding personally... ;-) Everything else was great and touching as expected! Please keep on going!
By the way: I had a bit more fun in d?sseldorf, because the bunch of fans I was in in front of the stage was even more enthusiastic and loud than the people around me in dortmund. If somebody recognizes my "wedding story": regards to you too! C u next year... (hopefully)

I really adore ur songs. I know that still Im such a little girl but I can realize the deep meaning of ur songs. You know , I knew you so intersting, At my English class!
We had listening exam, and when our teacher said there's a song of Mr.Burgh 4 ur test all of us complained and blamed on u! ( cuze all of us were too lazy and our listening was terrible! and we learn American not British!)
It was your THE SNOWS OF NEW YORK song. when 4 the first time we listened to it I lost my control and start to cry! Do u know why? Cuze I had to say good bye to my best friend too. just 2 month befor...
My Friend( Hamta ) wanted to go to heaven and leave me alone...and she did... I talked to her Body all the night. beged her to not leave me... Like a crazy girl!
By the way, Im 15 and I cannot describe with some foolish & childish word that how much I love u.
Now I study british and I try to memories all of ur songs with my new best friend Elham.
Me and my best friend that now is dead are going to love u 4 all the time! She loved u too...

Chris, all I can say is keep up the good work and keep on entertaining the world with your marvelous music!
Best wishes,
Tom

PS: as a student of engineering I was especially fascinated with the little gadget that lit our skies at the end of the concert. You can expect a question about this in the MotL section ;-)

Dear Chris,

Thanks to you and your band for the great show in Stuttgart last Friday. It wasn't only a concert - it was a varied, long :-) show indeed! I loved the selection of songs (established and new ones)... :-)
The first lines of "Where We Will Be Going" - what an impressive start (behind the curtain) with your powerful voice! :-)
And the trilogies "The Leader/The Vision/What About Me" and "The Mirror Of The Soul" (songs and films) - they deserve standing ovations!
I also would like to tell you that I loved the way how you performed the extraordinary ballads "Leningrad" and "The Grace Of A Dancer": just solo - on the piano. :-)
Special thanks for "Peaceful Waters" with a touch of "Missing You" and "Tender Hands". :-)

Yes, YOU have got every reason to be high and you've got a place in the heaven beyond... Carry on!

Love you, Gerlinde

P.S. My family enjoyed your show too. Btw my son learns to play the guitar. His comment: "Wow mum - 'your' Chris really rocked". :-)
...and maybe I will drift away again into the world of my imagination...

I think the songs from THE STORYMAN are a just amazing - please go on like this.
One of my favourite song - of couse an older one - is SNOWS OF NEW YORK.
Hope to see you soon again here in Germany.

Hi Chris,

I saw you first at the "Man on the Line" Tour in D?sseldorf 22 years ago. A long time. Since this time i saw every tour excepting the last two.
On Friday I saw you in Stuttgart and it was a great show with a great song selection. "Sailing away" is the only song witch from 1988 I still feeling boring and I wonder you still play it live.
I hope there will come out a DVD of the FULL show because everything else could not be the same. There would something be missing.
Over the years I saw a lot of concerts of you and I think your voice is getting much better the last years

Lieber Chris de Burgh,
vielen, vielen Dank f?r Ihr Konzert vorgestern in Stuttgart!
Ihnen, Chris, ganz, ganz herzlichen Dank f?r Ihre Musik! Diese, zusammen mit Ihrer Ausstrahlung, ist f?r mich immer wieder eine "Tankstelle" f?r Energie.
Eine sch?ne Weihnachtszeit w?nscht Ihnen

Hi Chris,
thank you very much for the wonderful concert in Stuttgart on Friday. I really liked the idea of the projections and the altar for "The Mirror of the Soul". I also admired that the concert lasted almost three hours. Of course I missed some songs but who doesn't... I also really likes the version of "The Lady in Red", which I've almost heard too often, so it was very nice to hear it played just a little bit differently. Thnak you very much

What a great experience!!!!
Stuttgart yesterday did show your genial talent in making your fans happy! The band was fantastic and it was wonderful to listen to you again with that surrounding sound - though I ever loved your solo-tours because of their closeness to you. Impressing and outstanding are the adjectives I connect with the Storyman-tour! I love it. And though 'The lady in red' really was the first of your songs I got to know and love it since then I must say that the version you played yesterday was combining a beloved song with inspiring new sounds and vibrations! Great! Three full hours with full voice and fun - I love to see you jump and run from one side of your stage to the other!
Hope to see you as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for 'The traveller' - the first time I saw it live. And true: Your first words of your first song: "I got every reason to be high!!!" Your audience really had every reason to be high yesterday - and it still lasts today!!!!
Andrea.

Hi Chris,

thanks a lot for a wonderful concert in Stuttgart on Dec. 1! Where do you get the energy to perform almost 3 hours straight with barely a break? The combination of songs and projections worked out great, leaving an even deeper impression than the songs alone. The mixture of old and new stories couldn't have been better and it made for a great experience.

The Storyman CD for me is one of your best albums ever (most likely even the best) as you really create stories in each and every one of the songs. I still cannot make up my mind, which of the songs is my favorite, but "The Mirror of the Soul" (just now playing while I write this) and "Raging Storm" are certainly high on my personal all time favorites list, followed very closely by "Spirit", "Storyman" and "Grace of a Dancer") - but, I really like all of them and have been listening to the CD daily and not just once ;-)

Thanks again and Cheers from Fellbach

"I can't look in those eyes and see that smile and not smile myself" -

Dear Chris,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful new album and especially for the fantastic and breathtaking Storyman-Tour.

It was a great pleasure for me to visit the concerts in Frankfurt, Dortmund and Stuttgart. In each case you played 3 hours. You put on a show for your fans. Thank you very much.

Accept my thanks for the chance to attend the soundcheck in Dortmund. This has been an unforgettable experience, also meeting the band and Kristyna Myles during the aftershow-party at the hotel. They?re very friendly.

I have followed your spotless career and I have visited a vast number of your concerts since 1984. Your are simply the best.

But I have to say that especially this year have been an impressive year for me, because of all the special events with you. I met you twice personally in 2006. Thank you very much.

And finally, the Storyman-show, the selection of the songs, the video-films are brilliant. The best show I have ever seen. It?s worthwile. In modern times your concerts are more delightful.

Thank you to bring joy for the last 25 years.

See you again next year during the summer, hopefully here in Emmendingen (near Freiburg/Germany)?

In everyday life your songs and your concerts are like an "energy drink". Keep it up.

All the best for you and your family. :-)

Take care. Wish you a recreative advent season in your family circle.

Gabi from Teningen/Germany

I believe that we'll meet again someday

Dear Chris,

thank you so much for that fantastic concert in Dortmund (25th Nov.). With the Storyman album you again have outstripped yourself.
During the concert a funny thing happened. When all the girls brought you flowers I said to the girl next to me that you now can open a flower shop. Directly in the next moment you said: " I can start selling flowers now!" :-D
I wish you that the rest of your tour will be as successful as it was up to now.

Best regards

And it was nice to see David Levy once again. I met him last year October in Ireland when he was playing some gigs with Smokie. Too bad, that I couldn't talk to him. Maybe next time.

Hi Chris,

It was great to have all my family with me to see you perform in Birmingham recently. We thoroughly enjoyed the show which was just amazing once again ! But to see you in Dortmund was a dream come true. We have always wanted to see you ' live ' in Germany and with a bit of encouragement from a crazy German female CdeB fan by the name of Doris Neerfries, we made it. The album is just incredible and has to be in my top 3 of all favourite albums of yours. We can't wait to return for more shows in Germany as the experience was just magical during the weekend of the Dortmund concert, meeting so many German fans was wonderful. It would be nice to meet up again with as many as possible.
So here's hoping to a ' Storyman part 2 '

all the very best,

Malcolm

Hi Chris

The concert in Zurich yesterday was again a fantastic experience! For the first time me and my friends had a lucky hand and managed to get seats in the front row. So we were able to follow the whole show very well. I really liked the idea with the movies. Still I have to admit I felt a bit embarrassed about the women in the front who tried to get your attention with interjections or even worse, got up onto the stage - not very Swiss like I have to say :-). But I guess this is not really a new experience for you. Anyway, it was a great show and me and my friends are looking forward to your next tour!

Dear Chris de burg,
when i went to the storyman concert on the 18th of november 2006 in Birmingham it was the greatest night of my life. It was an honour to here you sing so many classics like the leader/the vision/what about me?, a spaceman came traveling... , spanish train and border line 2. i was crying my eyes out. i was three rows back. you made so many people happy; including me. But the real reason why i'm doing this is because my uncle died of cancer. i am not a nutter, it would mean so much to me if you would dedicate "the spirit" to him as ... this may sound stupid but the song dipicts everything about him and what i feel about him

Although we needed ( as always :-) quite a while to get "in the right mood", I would say, that was one of your best concerts here.
Though I missed "The shadow of the mountain" and "The sweetest kiss of all", but therefore you played so many old songs which made me feel like beeing 20 years younger and beeing in the "Waldb?hne" again, that I really didn?t miss them for a long time :-)

Hallo Chris!

Well, i will not repeat what other listeners and spectators of your Berlin concert have wrote.
Apart from great music and musicians and a very impressive show - i dont think i have ever listened to someone performing every song one after the other without taking a break for 3 hours....
WOW !!!

Since i come from the eastern part of Germany, my first Cdeb-concert was at the Brandenburger Tor at the night before the 3.october in 1990. Just you, a guitar an a piano. I will never forget that one, when people just called a song title and you - with us - did the song....
gooseflesh allover...

Of course,in the ICC (twice), at the Gendarmenmarkt and in the MaxSchmelingHalle i was with you again...

"Thank you for the music" an i wish you all the best...

Yours sincerely

Berlin show was great! I'm a 21 year old student from Winnipeg, Canada studying in Berlin for a year, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see you play live with the band. My parents got me interested in your music and I'm glad I got to see a show.
A great book that I'd like to suggest that fits with the 'One World' theme would be a book called 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Tolle...it may be worth looking into for you.

I have been on your concert in Berlin last night - as I have been on almost all shows that you did in Berlin since the early 80s. I stll remember listening the first time to you in the Waldbuehne when you accompanied Supertramp! Many of your songs mean really a lot to me. Normally I don't like so much that each concert primarily is promoting a new CD which I don't know so much so I would like to sing with your old songs. but I have to revise my attitude this time. In my opinion "The Storyman" ist your best album for a long time and I really enjoyed all the different stories and fairy tales. Just one thing that I disliked a tiny little bit during the concert was that you didn't play any of your old fast songs (like "High on emotion" or "Don't pay the ferryman")earlier during the show. Although I mostly like you ballads even more it might have improved the crowd's enthusiasm. Since the audience is getting older we might need a bit more to get up from our seats and dance with you. As everyone did at the end of the concert! Please come back again soon. It is always a pleasure listening to your songs at the stage since the technical team for your concerts always seem to be the best of the world (which isn't the same with other concerts!)

hey everyone, I?ve been on the cdeb concert in berlin too and it was absolutely fabulous. Its been my first time for a cdeb concert. I just knew his music from my parents and my husband so far and so I was very curious about seeing him live...all in all I was sooo impressed from the show yesterday, was a good mixture from new and old stuff and chris knew how to fill the audience with enthusiasm! So Chris if u read this one, forget about the critics in the newspapers and just listen what the fans think of the performance, and I?m sure everyone was delighted!!! Also a big thank u for the band, you all done a perfect job!! :) I took soo much great memories with me and I?m sure if I have a possibiliy to see him again I will do :)
Chris keep on doing such a good job, I?m sure u know what your music means for the fans... for me I can say you have a "new" one now ...hehe

Sandra

by the way, claudia, if u read this one, u sat beside me! Didn?t see you after the show again. I?m glad that I met u and u were absoultely right :) maybe we hear from each other again, would love that!

Hi Chris!

Yesterday.
Berlin.
Max-Schmeling-Halle.
The Storyman.
WOW!!!

It was so good, to see you back on stage with your band. They are amazing. It was one of the best concerts I've seen. Your voice was brilliant. The audience loved you. And it was so wonderful, to hear "The Traveller" again. Although I missed the acoustic guitar in it! :-)

Thank you for this evening to remember. Your such an important part of my life for the last 25 years.

I hope to see you back in Berlin as soon as possible!

Tonight I visited your concert in Berlin. I had got a journey of 500 KM to see you and your fabolous band. After several years of lonelyness and several bad experiences you brought real tears in my eyes. Thank you. Now I know, that I?m still alive and that I?ve got still some normal characteristic in my body. I learned, that I?m meanwhile "old fashioned" - like your old song. But I love this kind of living. I will try to get personal contact to you after the tour. Perhaps you are able to show me my personal, new horizons, to give new power to my life.
Thank you. I?d never forgotten yor concerts in Berlin in the 80th (for example "Waldbuehne"). I think it was for example the "Into The Light - Tour". So after 20 years I will never forget a new person on stage: The Storyman.
Thanks again, and all the best for you and your family.
Please excuse my bad english language - I thing your german language is much better, but I left school at 1989 with some learned pieces of the english language and I never refreshed it ;-)
Up to next contact,
a 36 years old, male fan.

Hi Chris,
yesterday I was in Hamburg, watching your concert there. As usual, you start the show at time, I like that. The Storyman concert was more silent and contemplative than other concerts before, I think. After the part against the war, I had tears in my eyes, felt sad and seized. The people arround me were very quiet.I thought by myself: ?How he can turn the emotions arround?? But you did it! With your powerfull voice and your special way of dialog with your fans you changed the emotions. So the people can't sit on their places and come to the stage to be nearer with you and dance in a peacefull way, without to need any kind of security. That touched my heart again. I will not forget to mention the beautiful voice from the ?street singer? in the duett ?Raging Storm?(sorry, I forgot her name) and the perfect accompaniment of your band. I missed Hani Hussein singing with you together the song ?My Father's eyes. Also the flying globe was a nice idea.Thank you for a wonderful concert and 3 hours fantastic entertainment that impressed me very much. I whish you all the best for the tour, various ideas for new songs and perhaps more parts of ?The Storyman?.
Hope to see you again in many times. Brigitte

Hi Chris,
thank you for the amazing concert in Hamburg. It was absolutely great to see you and your band nearly three hours on stage. I love the songs from the new album (especially the duet "Raging Storm" with the lovely Kristyna Myles - I think this could be a Christmas hit) and of course the lots of Oldies (Spaceman, Carry me, Where peaceful waters flow, Spanish Train, Moonlight and Vodka, The Traveller etc.). Absolutely great was also the beginning of the concert (Where we will be going?) with the drum solo part. I hope you will come back as soon an possible. Maybe next year for more concerts in Germany? Thank you very much.
Thomas

Hi Chris!

I enjoyed your concerts in Munich and Dortmund very much. Thank you so much for singing "Raging Storm" with Kristyna at the soundcheck. Her voice sounds so beautiful.

It was also joyful for me, to meet and talk to Kristyna at the aftershow party. I hope that I can order her first album soon.

Thank you for playing the trilogies "Mirror Of The Soul" and "The vision". Your interpretation had brought tears in my eyes!!!

All the best for you and your family!

Hi Chris!
Your concert in Dortmund was wonderful! For the last time I saw you live on stage in Frankfurt/Soccer Arena in the 80's (Supertramp farewell tour). I was only there because of your music and left the arena after your show.
Now, many years later, I took my daughter and son-in-law with me. And we all enjoyed it very much. We all love you and your music.
Wish you all the best for the tour!

Hi Chris

I see from the endless entries in the guestbook that your tour is going as amazing as could be expected after the marvellous start in Birmingham (not that there was ever a doubt in my mind) :))) Altruistically very happy about that even though sad I can't attend any other shows...
I just wanted to say that I rediscovered "Far Beyond These Castle Walls" and am listening fascinated to it now...for some reason I had never properly listened to and taken in some of the stories on it...I love it :) I simply felt the need to share that.
Have you really caught a cold? Blimey, that's unfortunate in the middle of the tour! But I know it takes much more that this to shake so strong ( :) ) your exceptional abilities!
My thoughts are with you.
Enchant them all for the rest of the tour!

Chris, I read in the guestbook that you may be getting a cold - I'm in sympathy with you as I'm feeling a bit dodgy myself, which is a bit worrying with Amsterdam coming up - but I've bought in the Beechams remedy to ward off the evil spirits, I'd hate to not be able to join in the singing. If we're both still feeling a little dodgy next Monday maybe we can partake in a hot toddy and fight it off together. Take care, love always, Pauline XXX
