Hello, Chris.
My name is Alexej and I from Saint-Petersburg. I am studying at Saint- Petersburg Pediatric Academy. I want to
congratulate you on last Christmas and wish you and your family the best at this life. Also I congratulate Rosanne
on the title miss of the world 2003. She is very charming! The first among your songs which I heard 3 years ago is "
The lady in red ". And since that moment I began to listen your songs. You have a beautiful and wonderful voice! I
have never heard that staggering voice. Among my friend only I like your creation because others don't understand a
beautiful musi?. There is wonderful combination of voice with staggering musical accompaniment in your songs. It
seems like you are in the concert hall. Unfortunately I didn't attend you concerts, on TV they wasn't showed. But I
saw your concert in Volendam. It was a fantastic sight. I want once more to congratulate you, Rosanne and Diane with
New Year, wish you strong health and luck in everything. I hope that you will appear in Saint- Petersburgh with
concert in 2004. with respect Alexej.

Dear Chris,
We live in a house with satin green shutters. The most lovely house in the world. When you're in Amsterdam come and have a look for yourself. In that lovely house I live with my wife, our 2 dogs and 5 cats. My two daughters Renee and Saskia don't live there anymore. They have found a place of their own in the neighbourhood (the lovely village of Sloten in Amsterdam).
The 5th of June Saskia wiil get 25. As a birthday-present she got a ticket for your coming tour from her friend. Me, my wife Ineke, Renee and her friend will go too. We're looking forward to it and please could you sing for us "Satin green shutters" on the 5th of June when you're in Amsterdam? Thanks.
The best wishes for the New Year.
With kind regards,
Ben Meijer.

It's a big pleausure for me to know a big and talent artist like you. I didn't knew you before, so I'm really happy to have the opportunity to take part of your great music now.
I watched Simaye-azadi - Iran national tv, your song was very nice and beautiful and that was how I discovered you. In the iranian Gala th14 December 2003 you supported Maryam Rajavi. We really appreciate that with the bottom of our heart. She is a hope for all iranian people especially for the women in Iran. Thank you for being a part off our struggle. Thank you for understanding our situation. Thank you for giving your kindness to us.
I'm grateful that I can enjoy your music, and from now on I know you as the worlds best artist.

so many messages from Iranians out of Iran! you know my Iranian friends out of Iran, here nobody is punished for listening to any kind of music, the only thing is that the publication of forigner singers is forbidden, we can get them from many ways, the thing We do know. but a few cassetes are allowed to be published, for example two cassetes of chris de burgh, or other sigers like Iglesias, or Gipsy kings,...
and sth else, the only city chris can have a concert in Iran, freely is Kish Island.it's much more beautiful than Tehran, and many other singers who can't have a concert in Tehran, do it there.
thank you all, bye bye

Dear Mr. Chris de Burgh
First of all, I would like to mention, what a great feeling it got, as an Iranian, when I saw you singing in Iran?s night and for Iran. You know, as a human being, who has been born and living in Iran for many years, it is not easy to be tortured, humiliated and imprisoned, specially demanding democracy in Iran. And on the other hand getting labelled as a terrorist by the western countries without them having real considerable and justifiable evidence. When I heard a great singer talking about Mrs. Marjam Rajavi and her wishes about freedom and equality, I thought that there was still some conscience in a man. That man is you with a great heart. Therefore I thank you for taking the right side. I loved your song, which was so meaningful. It was about freedom and revolution.
As on of your fans, I am ashamed that your records are forbidden in Iran. You know, living in Iran under very ?old days rolls? is awful. Mojahedin has been struggling very hard in the last 20 years, to get a better and modern life for the Iranians, by overthrowing the mullah?s regime.
Thank you for participating in this holy and humanitarian fight.
At last I would like to congratulate you and your daughter for being nr.1. Mary Christmas and happy new years.
Regards Kazem Rahmani

Dear Chris
I am a 20-year-old girl, who is a great fan of yours. It was so good to see you participating in Iran?s night. You should know that it maid me proud.
I wanted to let you know, how awful it is in Iran, and how hard Iranians in an out of Iran struggle to get rite of these inhuman Mullah?s. They have destroyed all the good Iran stands for, and day-by-day it is getting worse. We who join the Mojahedin are not terrorist. We simply want democracy and freedom. Help us keep fighting. Don?t let the Mullahs get to you.
Thank you for all of your support and help.
With love, Azi

Dear Chris,
It was wonderful your great performance in London on Dec 14th. When I saw your picture on the ad about your performance at Wimbley I told myself that is wonderful ?I have to be there and hear your voice alive again?. Unfortunately I couldn?t make it to be at Wimbley that night, but I watched your concert via satellite. I found you always as a revolutionary singer particularly when I heard your song ?Easter wind?. It was 23 years ago that I heard your marvelous voice back in Iran, thanks to my girlfriend. Many years after, alive in Sweden, you are the great. It was very touching seeing you and hearing your words of sympathy towards the Iranian Resistance and your solidarity to political prisoner in Iran. I hope in the near future all your fans back in Iran see performance of yours in free Teheran and the other cities of Iran.
I wish you a merry Christmas and a very happy new year.

Your love and support through your songs for a free and democratic Iran warmed my heart and made me feel so happy to be present that evening.
I hope that you will continue to sing for us and keep up your support for the Iranian resistance, (National COuncil of Resistance of Iran and the Peoples Mojahedin). We are very grateful to you for everything and look forward to hearing you sing in Azadi(freedom) Square in the very near future!!!
With Love and Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year,

I am originally from Hungary, but have been living in London for a few years. I have a lot of Iranian friends and they invited me to Wembley to see you perform on Sunday 14 December. You were fabulous. What a voice and what great music.
Your friendship with the Iranian people is very positive. They have really suffered a great deal over the past 20 years at the hands of their fundamentalist government and so your support is very welcome.
Hungarians also love you.

Hello Chris,
Today (Dec. 14, 2003) I watched via satellite here in the United States, your performance in London in the night of solidarity with the Iranian Mujahedeen and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. It was excellent and you were excellent.
Maryam Rajavi is our guiding light and as you said it "When it is dark, in the lonely night," she is "the fire in our heart."
I am very happy that now the circle of friends of Maryam Rajavi and our democracy movement also includes you. You have a lot of fans among us mainly I suppose because your lyrics sit right in our hearts and souls given the contemporary history of our country and what we as a nation are going through.
I hope your solidarity with our democracy movement will flourish evermore.

Dear Chris,
Thank you for the lovely evening on December 14th! I'm actually an Iranian-American; born in the US but never seen my parents' hometown.
I love my country (the US) but I also love to visit my parents' hometown and my many relatives in Iran. I too am a victim of fundamentalist tyrants ruling in Iran.
But your songs have given me a lot of hope (I'm actually watching you singing right now on Internet with tears in my eyes). I will look forward to the release of 'The Road To Freedom'. My family and I love you.
Love and Peace,

Dear Chris;
Hi! Congratulations (again, if you have read my note in the "man on the line" section!) for rosanna. Although the runner-up was an ethnic Iranian girl [and I am Iranian too ;-)], I think your daughter really deserved the title! Well, here in Iran, there are so many people who are impatient to take part in your concerts. Have you ever wanted to be here?
Thanks for your nice songs & stay sweet

Dear Chris, thank you for taking the time to answer my question about tickets price in the other section. You know, we use to pay around 40$ and last time it was 70!That's why I asked, not to say it wasn't worth it!Even if it cost me two full days of work for two tickets, I wouldn't have mist it for nothing. You see how we love you here in Qu?bec!(ha ha ha!)Also I'm not sure you realise that it was me who gave you those cassettes and CDs before the show and that's why I asked about qu?b?cois singers. You know I'm a little sad not knowing what you think of it at all.But I guess that's the way things go.Ijust hope you had at least alittle moment of pleasure listening(if you had time to do so)cause you know that was really the point. And I hope maybe you share that with others.(I'm a very faithful person youknow ha ha ha !)Congratulations for Rosanna and best wishes to the whole family for the holiday seasons.XXX

Dear Chris,
Congradulations for your daughter Rozanna for winning the Miss. World prize. When I first saw her in BBC site I just remembered your song for her. Now she has grown up and changed ALL ACCORDING TO THE PLAN as you sung some years ago. I'm sure you are so proud of her as a father. I wish you and your family a long beautiful life as well as hapiness and success in all aspects. And about what you told to one of my citizens in Man on the Line. Be sure that there are many people impatiently waiting to see you here in Iran and actually hear your great voice. But there are some sophisticated problems here which take time to be solved and this is another thing that we are impatiently waiting for. I want to tell you that in the minds of the ones who know you here your voice is the voice of freedom as me and my freinds used to call when we were students. Whising to see you here in The Road to Freedom. Thank you

Dear Chris!
Congratulations to your daughter Rosanna! The first place in the Miss World Competition - wow! It?s incredible!
Soon many German television stations put this great news on their "VIDEOTEXT"
and I?m sure this week the magazins will be full with reports.
I can remember that you, Chris, were full of emotions when Rosanna was born! You wrote about it in a book some years ago and all your fans know her song "For Rosanna".
Of course for a father the own daughter is the most beautiful girl/woman in the world (beside the own wife). But now you and your wife have a international confirmation that YOUR daughter is the most beautiful one.
I hope that this is a wonderful kind of reparation of Dians first pregnancy which had an unfortunate end and which brought you and Diane the concern of other aftercrops.
The whole story sounds so trashy and seems to be a cheap story written by Hollywood. It?s incredible but it?s real life!
Rosannas life reminds me to a line of your song "Nothing ever happens round here": "And so she took a screen test, no doubt that she was the best, the camera fell in love with her, before she knew it she was on the way to make her dream come true." I don?t know if it was her dream to win this competion but I wish her a life that makes her happy and well-balanced and which is without injustice and pain.
At the end of these lines I wish you und your whole family (especially the mother of the Miss World 2003 - who was never mentioned in the German
"VIDEOTEXT"!) a wonderful advent season including X-mas Eve and a happy new year 2004!
Best wishes also to the fans out there
waiting for the next album!
Yours,
Carina from Germany!!!

CONGRATS ROSIE @}-,-`---- !!
Couldn't see the show, except for a short clip on TV, but saw the pictures on the web and must say: I'm NOT surprised at all - with such Mum and Dad ;)!
When I heard the news I remembered seeing you as a toddler way back in around 1985. For example when Daddy was carrying you around the castle on his back :). You were an adorable little girl then. During the years your father has sometimes spoken to us about how beautiful you are and you could tell how proud he was even before you won the title of Miss World. And he was right: you are ravishing! He must be completely over the moon now?!!
Well, enjoy the duties and pleasures which this new role brings for you and good luck with handling all the hype that comes with it as well!
And to Chris,
GOOD ON YOU :D !!
We really believe it now: she does take after her Dad ;)!
I'm very happy for you. Only hope all this doesn't mean we'll be seeing less of you next year!?? Because, you know, we've already got our tickets. And WE are ready to go... %)
Kind regards to all the Davison family!

Hi Chris !! what can we say but a very big Congratulations to Rosanna on winning the Miss World 2003 contest last night. You must be the PROUDEST dad in the world right now, along with Rosanna and Diane of course !! Not a show we would ever watch normally, but this year we made the exception....and what a stunner Rosanna was :-) And please Chris IGNORE the usual bad press that we have come to expect here in Britian, with anything connected with you,Rosanna was definately the best out of the 5 finalists and that is 100% truth:-))
But the worrying thing is what you supposedly said straight after the show...'that you will have to restart planning next year' now ? Hope that does not mean cancelling any concerts :-(
Once again congratulations to Rosie :-)It was so funny to see you sitting in the audience looking so nervous just before the results were announced.... now you know how we all feel just before the doors are opened for a CdeB' concert;-)and that is really the truth....it does not matter how many times we see you, it's always the same !!

Congratulations to you and your daughter Rosanna on her win at Miss World Beauty Competition. She is most lovely and now has a chance to contribute something to the world as you have. They still play your song "Lady in Red" all the time in this city, it's drilled into my head. Hi Chris!
Congratulations to your daughter!!
Rosanna is very pretty!!
I think the best it could ever happen to her is to have a father like you. To have a father that writes so lovely songs, songs with so much feelings, to his daughter like you did, is the greatest thing that a girl can wish.
I wish myself I had a father for my little girl or a man (for me) who writes so wonderfull songs for me (us)like you do.
I have not. But I have your songs. And when I close my eyes and hear it, I think you would sing it for me.
Best wishes for you and your family.

Dear Chris,
Re:- MO(T)L - regarding your next album.
I get a very strong feeling that "Road to Freedom" is going to very special. Like you've said before - all will be revealed in time!
I was very privileged to have have heard you sing "Snow is Falling" at one of your Concerts last year. I just don't know how you are able to paint a picture so vividly in a song. This track had such an impact and it has "stayed" with me.
I have to say that I can't remember much of the music or lyrics - it's the picture in my head which has stayed so I am really pleased that you are going to put it on "Road to Freedom."
Thank you!
We missed you SOOO MUCH here in England this year Chris :-(((
We're waiting patiently to write your Concert dates on our 2004 calendars!
From the heart!

First of all I'd like to thank Chris and his Management for putting together the new cdeb online store. While it's limited in quanity so far, more is supposed to be available soon, the quality is awesome. I just recieved back issues of the "Getaway Gazette" and I must say I am really impressed with the depths and emotions that the magazine gets into. If you would like to know all things cdeb, its a must to get. Second I am extremely looking foward to the new cd "The Road to Freedom or whetever they decide to call it. I would just second the notion to put the song "Little Angel" on it and then maybe release the single and have all procedes of the single go to a childrens chairties. That I think would be a great compremise for all sides. And last but not least Thank You Chris for all the songs that move us, rock us and makes us think but especially makes us realize that we are all......human.

Hi Chris,
I'm writing in regard to your song,"Little Angel", which I had the opportunity to listen to earlier this year when you visited Ottawa. While you were singing this song, two things happened.First, my wife started to cry and secondly, I suddenly had a great appreciation for my 3 year old son, Giacomo. I hope you decide to add this song to your new album. I read your comments on how this song hits home in a hard way.Although it may be hard for some people to listen to, what it does is so much more important. It makes peopl appreciate their children so much. Because it makes them realize for a split moment, what their lives would be like if they lost their child. In today's fast paced world, you often lose site of the important things in life. Once again you have come up with lyrics that make people think.I hope to see you again in Ottawa real soon.
All the best to you and your family

Hi Chris!
I read your answer on MOTL from 19.10.03 and here is my oppinion about. But first I want to say "Thank you!" that you ask what your fans think about and that you are interested in the feedback of the fans - that?s something special, but you seem to be a special man ;-) !
I didn?t hear "Little angle", but I think the story behind this song is a very sensitive and important one! These cruel things happen so often - and every time is too much! Children are the best what this world has - they are the future of the world, need love, respect and must be protected. These subject is so important! And maybe it?s a little comfort for all the parents, people who love them and friends of these children, who could not grow up with them - seeing that something very sad has happened but that other people feel with them and don?t forget that every dead or abused child, every child in misery is too much! Sadly we can not help all these children. But we can think about them and don?t forget what they must suffer!
I can?t say all this very good in English, but I hope that it is to understand, what I think and feel about.
Greetings from
Ina

It would be wonderful to have one of your concerts in the USA. I wish I could say I've been enjoying your music for years but it seems impossible I only discovered you several years ago.
When I told my friends I was going to Quebec City for your concert they asked "Who is Chris de Burgh?". Don't understand why you are not better known here. "Lady in Red" was a big hit here but it was not that appealing for me so I missed out for all those years on what you are about.
I love your music and I like and respect you as a person. You seem to care so much for your family, friends and fans. Man on the Line is a wonderful way to let fans know more about you and I visit the website every day I'm home.
Looking forward to the new CD. As you have said it's difficult as you grow older to recapture the naivety of youth but do hope some of the music is more like your music from younger days.

It's a shame, when music sales persons don't even know when asked, "who Chris de Burgh is!". But I love your music still, and always will.
I wish you could come just ones to the States, so me,and everyone here could see what you are all about.
Your voice and music pick me up whenever I am down, and makes me joy when I am alone. Simply to put, there is no other.
THANK U...

Dear Chris,
There is not much to say except may be "thank you" ...!
Your melodies and your voice brings such a happiness and a weird feeling of "being somewhere else" ...
When i was younger (i am 34), i remember how much i cried, listening to "much more than this" on the B side of "High on Emotion", i could have easily get drowned in my onwn tears if i kept them !!!
I love "here is your paradise" and would like to propose you my own version of this song, in duo (male/female) and rearranged. What do you think of this project?
I hope to get some news from you very soon.
Take care and keep on visiting our dreams and making our lives a kind of "everlatsing dream", when listening to you ...

Hi Chris,
Please record your song "little angels " on a cd. Once again this terrible thing happened in Canada 2 days ago, I know your music brings peace to some people and in reaching out to all these families, it can only help.
Many thanks for the time you take with man on the line and for your great songs. Helen

Dear Chris!
Referring to the Motl answer of 19th of October, I can only agree with what Claudia wrote.
As often as I hear "Little angel", I have the feeling that the message of this song has to be shared, although you have never planned to record it.
It was written in such an emotional moment, and for that it exactly describes what parents should never forget when they do not treat their own children in the right way...before they only have their childhood dreams left in an empty children's room.
You have this special ability to write such songs, and I am sure that this is again one of them that will touch people deep inside...like, as Claudia already mentioned, " The Tower" or "Borderline".
Yes, it should be only on the album...and I hope that it will make people think about the evil in our world...and that an innocent children's life is so precious...
Shine on and take care !
Hugs, Dany

Hi Chris!
Referring to the Motl answer of today, 19th of October I can only say: Thank you for asking the fans because: yes, I do have an opinion about it.
Months ago I was lucky enough to get a recording of ?Little angel?, and when I first heard it, I had tears in my eyes, too, like many others did. I don?t have children but I can?t think of anything worse than what happened to those two sisters. Like you I don't have an idea how the song may continue, I think there should be something in front of the line "Another night of reaching out for you" instead, something about their luckier days perhaps...
And I really think that this song should be shared with as many people as possible, because it is an important song. I wouldn?t like to find it as a track on a Maxi CD, as this looks like the record company had put it on there to make collectors buy the CD only to earn money with it. And especially for the parents it would be horror to see you earn money with their pain.
But if it?s a track on the album then yes, it should be there. There are many songs on earth about sad love, good love, broken love and more love, but only a few which have a message. And you have the ability to make this world if not much, but a little bit better at least. There are many songs of you which make you special, I think of Borderline, Simple truth, Once upon a time or perhaps The Tower indeed, and some more. And if ?Little angel? will stop at least one parent from beating their child, and even if it?s only one time, then this song should be published.
Carry on!
Yours, Claudia

Dear Chris,
I?m a huge fan since I?ve been 4 years old. Today I?m 17 and my love for your music has grown up. When I was 5 years old I told my parents that we have to go to your concert(IT WAS YOUR AMAZING POWER-OF-TEN-TOUR). I bought the tickets from my pocket money and I have to tell you that it was the best decision I?ve ever made!! I had much trouble in my family, but all the time your music helped me. As child I dreamed to have a father like you are. And now I have got a wonderful stepfather and everything is great. I only wanted to thank you so much!!
Love, Ariane

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and continue to make more of the music I have grown to love. I don't think any artist has connected with me as much as you have.

Dear Chris!
Thank you very much for your wonderful and deeply touching music. I am a huge fan of you since 1986, that ist since I was 15 years old. Every time you do concerts in Germany, I hope at least one of them is near the town I am living in. Thank you for your great concert in Siegen this summer. I am looking forward to your next concerts in Germany and to your new CD.
My husband and I are huge Ireland fans. Unfortunately it was not possible for us to visit Ireland this autum like we had planned. Now we want to come to our beloved green island after Christmas.
Chris, we wish you a wonderful birthday.
May God bless you with the deep peace coming from the whisper of the waves. May He bless you with the deep peace coming from the flattering wind. May God bless you with the deep peace over the calm land. May He bless you with the deep peace under the gleaming stars.May God bless you and all the ones you love with the deep peace from the son of peace.
Happy birthday, Chris!

Hi Chris - The amount of work that goes into a song - if you want it done right is incredible. The diversity of each song, the excellence of your chord arrangements, the sound production, and the lyrics all show a great depth of artistry, talent, feelings, and commitment. I hope the response you get from your concert fans give you the gratification and warm feelings you so richly deserve. You make our lives better each day with your music... Gene
