Chris, you really do sing for your supper don't you? I came to see you at the MEN arena in Manchester and I couldn't believe how long you performed for - it was brilliant. I met you twelve years ago in Birmingham and you don't seem to have changed much - so how DO you go leaping about on stage for three hours? I'm 28 and I haven't got half the energy you have!!!
I would also like to say how delighted I was you pointed out the magnificent Liverpool victory over Man Utd at that concert - you're a lot braver than I would've been in your shoes - they're very sore losers!!!!

I don't expect you remember me but I was the girl in the Fire on the water and Lady in red video. I was hoping you might be able to do me a favour. I have the fire on the water video that somebody gave me in HMV many years ago but I would love to have the Lady in red video. I remember seeing a little bit of it when it was advertising Tower Records on the TV but have never seen the whole version with me in it! You know how it is when you are younger you take things for granted and I never kept alot of my work but now it would be so nice to show my children and husband. We were at the concert in Sheffield last night and wanted to boogie with you but the 'hard men' wouldn't let us near the front! We boogied in the tiers instead (but too far away from you). last night I attended your concert in Sheffield, West York. 17/12/000. Again it was a fabulous night as were your other concerts. Only one thing spoiled it. Photography.Other people were taking pictures and my husband thought he would do the same. Our camera is a 35mm, and 25 years old. So, in order that I would have some pictures to remember the night by, he bought a zoom to fit on. he began taking the odd picture as everyone else, and the concert marshalls came and said that he could not use it, that he could only use a 35mm. he explained that he was using one and that he was only using the zoom, and he was told that your management team had seen it and that he had to put the camera away or the film would be confiscated. Chris, my argument is, had we bought one of the pocket size new digital camera with zoom on, nothing would have been said, it was only the fact that the zoom was bulky. No way was it proffessional. I bought the calendar that was on display outside, but due to lack of official photos, this would be my only reminder. I have attended many concerts of yours and this is the first time I have had trouble. Believe me these photos are just for my album, I am 53 years old, and have been a fan since the day you started. I hope you get this message. keep singing Chris.

I went to see you in concert on Tuesday 12th December 2000 at the CARDIFF INTERNATIONAL ARENA, and was so thrilled to see such a knockout performance. It was out of this world. Thank you for such a great concert. The energy that you put into The whole performance was spectacular. You didn't even have an interval. For well over three hours you rocked Wales sideways. The previous night TOM JONES was at the same venue and that was a very hard act to follow, especially as Wales is TOM's HOME COUNTRY. But Chris just wowed the whole place, and the reception was superb. What a fantastic concert at the "Armadillo" in Glasgow recently.
I recall many years ago that I wore a red dress to a concert that I was performing in to raise funds for Red Nose Day. Someone took a picture of me and reminded me of your lovely song, "Lady in Red".

Thank you for the music. What energy you have! Three hours live performance almost non-step. Now that is value!

It has been since september that i have written.Since then , yes there is snow here in New York and i have also purchased "QUIET REVOLUTION". As expected, AWESOME,just FABULOUS music by the greatest artist on this planet.Just like every other release Chris has put out ,"Quiet Revolution" has something for everyone.I was instantly attracted to "THE SAME SUN" and "SAINT PETERS GATE" but like every other CDEB release, i'm sure i'll have a different favorite every week until all the tracks from this cd are forever melted into the CDEB library in my mind.

I was very disapointed with the concert I went to last night in Cardiff. It went on too long, and WHY does chris feel the need to do covers!! I have been a fan for many years, and paid to hear his songs not the beatles or the eagles!! Does anyone agree? And please change the band. Your guitarists are trying to steal the show, why give them so much time to play solos.....we want to hear Chris!!!!

it was a great pleasure for me, to visit the very great show Art on Ice in Oberhausen on December 1, 2000. I am a Chris-de-Burgh fan since I can think. All his records belong to me. The show in Oberhausen was fantastic. The first part of the show - without Chris - was very boring. But after the break - when Chris enters the stage - it was fantastic, great, incredible... The scater glide over the ice, because of the unbelievable good music. It was a great show like all the others from Chris. I hope he will come back very soon to Germany, especially to Oberhausen.

It has been awhile since I have been able to listen to your music and I must say it is like a rediscovery. I hold one of my most prized possessions a picture of me with you framed with your autograph to me.
I remember listening to "Don't Pay the Ferryman" in the early 80's when it became a hit over here and then going out and buying the album and listening to it over and over. I had a friend who spent the summer in England and he told me how big you were over there. I then began to scour the stores for your albums and have quite a collection but it is missing the newer releases. I guess I will have to work on that!!

In my eyes he is a fantastic showman after atending many concerts dating back to 1987 , I have never come away

All I gotta say is that you are my favorate artist of all time. Your music is on a plane of it's own.

On the off chance that Mr. de Burgh does have time and inclination to read this site's guestbook on occasion, a brief note of thanks for the inspiration your music has been in my life.I am a writer of poetry and songs, as well as the occasional short story, and I do think that the primary reason I became intrested in medieval-type ballads was hearing your song Crusader in my younger years. Through the wonders of technology, I've found this website where I can read the lyrics to many songs I may not have encountered otherwise (being from the USA).Unlike many US singers, you also show a great respect for your family and for humanity in general in your works, which is quite refreshing to find in this day and age. I think that the universal appeal of such expressive beauty and human values is clearly evidenced by the wide variety of fans you have from around the world. It must be a wonderful feeling to know that your works have made a real difference in the lives of many people. I understand you are coming out to South Africa in February 2001. Carnival City is one of the new casinos since your last visit, when you appeared at The Carousel. I was General Manager there and have now moved to Carnival City. We have a superb superbowl facility here which can seat 5000 in the round or about 3,500 with a stage, depending on the setup. We've had Brian Ferry here earlier this year, if you'd like to speak to him as a reference for the facility - I'm sure he'll confirm we have a superb venue!

Chris... you're fantastic !!! I've been a fan for ages, and I don't intend to stop now !!! I understand the reasons, but I'm still disappointed that you won't be coming to the US, since it means that I will likely never have a shot at seeing you live. I sure do wish I could be there for just one of your concerts... in the meantime, I'll just keep playing your CDs over and over and over and....

Love your music since late 1970th when you had a tour in Hamburg called "an evening with Chris de Burgh". I sometimes miss songs like "Tourist Attraction", or "At The End of a perfect Day" and the anthems like Crusader. Still a fan and will always come to a concert when you are in Germany.

We wanted to do something for your birthday that would make you happy,but we couldn't figure out exactly what.
Nothing we could come up with seemed

Dear Chris

If only there were more people like you. You are the voice of those who cannot speak. You are the ears of those who cannot listen. You are the eyes of those who cannot see.

I remember myself as a teenager in the early eighties and going to that wonderful concert you gave here in Montr?al. I remember myself closing my eyes and signing along with others thousands fans. Beeing a teenager was never easy but somehow you manage to send me your message. And I will always be thankfull that I listened to it.

The inspiration that awoke on that special night is still there even after all those years. I wish I could give a whole year of my life just to sit with you for a few minutes and talk about who you are. I know you are what you sing but I am sure that there is more to the man behind the signer.

Cheers to the purest voice, which sings the most romantic words set to music. Truly an inspirational person who I hope my son will grow to love as much as me - he's 4 months old and has been listening to Chris De Burgh since conception. He even went to a concert when I was 7 months pregnant with him. He loved it!!! :) He rolled around the entire time. It was a magical night for us both. I've been a fan for nearly 20 years, and I'd like to say thanks for helping keep romance in my life!

I am usually not a lover of love songs but , Chris has a passion in his preformances that make you believe every word he says. I was lucky enough to see Chris here in the states, it was six flags in Atlanta 1984, I was front row dead center. However these days having three kids and not being a rich man ,i can only remember the past because im affraid the future does not look very bright for a Chris Deburgh concert in the USA. I hope that you read this cause i want to say that i've never in my life liked
the whole songs of anyone ,i feel as if they come directly to my heart and sometimes when i hear a new song for you i can tell the coming words. I was in your concert on the 14th in Beirut and i think it was fantastic i was standing and the first raw and you know all the time i felt as if i'm drunk or drugged but the best thing was , i felt that i'm in a different world and every day since then i feel something's missing i hope that you'll come every year to lebanon and by any chance let me meet you cause i've always wondered
how would someone wrote and has such great tunes and lyrics talk or deal with people ,if only for two minutes ok!

He's almost the best singers and also a talented man, but there are a few songs like the excellent old ones such as "Borderline", "The Tower", "A Spaceman Came Travelling", Eastern Wind", "The Spanish Train" and "Crusader" in your new works.I do not mean that the newer ones are not good. But songs such as "A Child is Born", "Revolution", "Oh My Bravehearts" and "Quiet Revolution" are not seen as much as we expect. I hope the next album contains the songs we are waiting for. If it is possible, please send me your Email address.
