I fell in love with Chris's music starting in 1975 with "Far Beyond These Castle Walls" which featured a song I am listening to as I type...."Windy Night".....I have been involved with the music scene since 1979 in security, writing, managing, re-mix,
and dj under my professional name. While I have worked with and had exposure to artists and music internationally, I still list "Far Beyond" and "Crusader" from Chris, and "Prince of the Deep Water" by the Blessing as 3 of my top ten personal albums.
I really wish that he would tour the US again (I know, I know....commercial under-exposure for his best stuff) since the only time I have ever seen him live was in the late 70's when he was opening for Peter Frampton (I was more than irate with Mr.F at that time, and missed my chance to meet Chris backstage. Oh well, I wish I could tell him how much "Windy Night" has meant to a recovering alcoholic and drug abuser (otherwise known as an industry survivor - No body gets out alive) and that we made it s ound good around 5am at the 544 Club on Bourbon Street (it was closed by then, that's when the best music happens - if you don't believe that, check out Sam Cooke Live on Harry and Luigi Records-Brooklyn, probably only run about $1200-1500 on vinyl) God
knows, Chris de Burgh would be a guy you would want sitting around a campfire on the solstice...........in the wind........sdig

I've loved C de B since 1980 and am now well into double figures on concerts. I was starting to drift, but since Beautiful Dreams, the old magic is back. By the way, I think Chris's version of 'Without You' is the best thing he has ever done....why not record it? But then I think

I just want to thank Chris DeBurgh for the music he has written. Ever since I found the tape 'Spanish Train and Other Stories' in my brother's tape collection (and kept it for myself) about 10 years ago I have been a HUGE fan. I have nearly all the CDs. He is one of my greatest influnces when I write music of my own.

I would love to know when there are going to be concerts in Eastern Canada or the US. It has been a goal of mine to see him perform live.

I think you've done a great job on your page. I personally have been a fan of CdeB's since 1973.. but have to say that I've started to drift from him. I see such a big change in Chris over the years and he really doesn't pay attention to how his fans feel anymore. He seldom plays in Montreal anymore and is losing alot of his fans I think. I went to see one of Chris's shows while he toured South Africa in 1996 and it was so fantastic, that I just had to see the more recent one (when he was supposed to perform with Michael Bolton). What a great performer and this web page certainly does

I became a fan the first time i saw the DPTFM video. How can i get it? I'm dying to see it again. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
The first time i heard LIR i was in love with this georgous redhead & it became our song. I ended up marring another woman (not anymore) who is probably CdeB's second biggest fan (I'm the biggest).

My first introduction to CdeB was the Getaway album. I've been listening ever since. There is a song to match every mood but at the moment I'm hooked on the Man on the Line album. The concert CdeB gave in Brisbane for his Beautiful Dreams album was
brilliant! I took a friend who hadn't heard much of his stuff and she was rapt. She said it was the best concert she had been to. Thank you Chris, for everything.

This page is really great! The only thing that disappointed me was that there were no chords with the lyrics. I play guitar and I'd really love to sing and play his music.
Chris de Burgh is one of my most great examples. Especially his lyrics, his words are so beautiful. He has made me cry many times with his beautiful songs. He always knows how to put things right, exactly the way I feel it. I really don't know that much about Chris de Burgh, only his music. I discovered Chris deBurgh's music in 1982 when I was in high school and have not missed a concert in Calgary ever since - my husband and I even came home early from our honeymoon in 1987 because we couldn't bear to miss a concert (it was Man on the L i ne). Please, please, please Chris, don't let it be years again before you come back - I really need a "fix".

On 26th of july i was in Bonn to see Chris de Burgh. It was a great night.
Before the concert we met him backstage. We shake hands, took pictures and he signed photos and t-shirts. It was the best concert i've ever seen. Next week i'm going to the concert at Penshurst place.
I hope that the wetter will be good and that we enjoy it as much as the concert in Bonn.

I suppose I'm one of the longtimers... one of the older fans who's been around a while. I became a Chris deBurgh addict in 1975, and continue thus. Burns my backside that all his releases aren't widely available in the US, and when I lived in Michig a n, I'd sneak into Canada to pick them up. (I still wish I had a CD of "The End of a Perfect Day" and the two latest collections.) Chris is such a pleasure to indulge. I was moved when the panning cameras at Princess Di's funeral landed on him... told e verybody I knew (because they were asking who he was)!

I have been to England twice under the guise of being on v a cation, but actually had alterior motives: I needed to buy CdeB tapes and CDs! They are very hard to find here! I am looking forward to getting my hands on Chris' new releases; hopefully I can order them over the web, as I'm too broke to make another tr i p to London!
I really like your Q&A section: it sur helped to answer the many burning questions I've had for several years! This is probably the most complete celebrity fan site I have come across. I don't consider myself to be at all religious, but very spiritual. I have realized over the years that C de B's songs, music and lyrics have a real connection with what I myself feel. I have been listening to CdeB since 1986 when I overheard a song while living in Denmark. I now live in USA but I still travel to Europe about every year or so and I always look for a new album. I usually don't like to listen to every song a band wr i tes, but with CdeB it is different. Something in me sings to his songs - all of his songs. I just have to say thanks to you.. I first heard some your songs in 1990. But it has been quite unfortunate that not a lot of people know you down here (to be honest)..
So almost every time I go to a music store and ask for your albums, they'd say they have not heard about you..
BUT, when I mentioned "The Lady in Red" most would know..

I have to admit that I first heard Chris' music at a crucial point in my life. I was 21 and not too sure what to do with the rest of my life. The song was "A Spaceman came travelling"
Since then I have made an effort to get all of his records and now that they are out in CD format I have almost all in that format.
All I can add it to keep up the good stories and ballads, they are your best music. I have a CD player in my car and since I travel alot, I sing along with the music and it makes the time fly.
I haven't met anyone who doesn't like at least one of your songs.
I have so many favourites, you can't list them. May your future be long and happy, and there be many more songs in the future.
