I have loved Chris since I can remember. He writes some of the best songs! When I hear the love songs, I wish someone cared about me even HALF that much! And his story songs make you feel like you're right there in the middle of everything.
I am glad there is a place that I can go to talk to other peole about him and get information. I can't wait to find out what he is up to next!

Excellent site ! I have been a CdeB fan for years, but since noone in the US knows who he is it can be difficult to spread the good word. It's nice to know there are other true believers out there too.

Well, I just wanna say that Chris is the best. Unfortunately most people only knows the lady in red which isn't his best song. His best song is of course Borderline. Bye, bye

Great ! I'm a fan of Chris de Burgh for many years.
My favorite song is "The Head and the Heart", because I had the same problem in my life.
I'd like to read all of the pages, but the transmission is very, very slow. Is there a possibility to load down all pages, pictures ... (e.g. as a ZIP-File) via ftp ?
Sorry, if my English is not so good.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Chris de Burgh - fans !

Jeez! A fair dinkum CdeB culture club!!! (No pun intended and hope you don't mind the Strine) I overheard The Getaway at University and became absolutely besotted. Since then I have indoctrinated my sister with whom I spent my last shekel to atten

d

the concert and I had two shildren who have grown up to the sounds of me warbling all the songs all the time. What a man! To have given so much richness in so many ways to so many people. Wish he'd tour over here againŠ

Chris,
Lady in Red has been my most favorite song since as far back I can remember. The very first dance I went to at school, your song played, I danced to that song. I can still remember that night, I was so incredibly in love with that song. Now, my

current

boyfriend and I pulled that CD out of the closet and popped it in one day and danced to it. That was the best night of my life. Please keep writing songs like that, you have much talent and many fans!

Firstly, thank you Joe, it's nice to be able to click out of life and into Chris de Burgh even on the net :) I first heard him when
I was 4, in 1979 and well, "The Girl With April In Her Eyes" is me.
I have since bought every single album that I could get my hands on
- he is my favorite voice, artist, individual on the entire planet.
You have done such a great job here - please do keep it up.
Also - I'm upset that he didn't come to the Vancouver area on his tour
- any chance you may be able to find out if he'll ever tour out this way again? If not - well, I'll just have to move overseas.
Thanks again.

Hi! I think Chris De Burgh is the best singer alive! He has helped me through some terrible times with his music. My Dad courted my Mum with his hit song "The Ladt in Red", and when I was eight, Mum suffered a stroke and died. It was a really tou

g

h time for all of the family, and I never really completed my mourning for her until recently. When I first heard Chris's song "Carry Me (Like A Fire In Your Heart), it helprd me immensly to overcome my grief at Mum's death.
On a lighter note, I'd like to thank Chris for making the world's best music. At 17 not many people my age are into Chris's type of music. They don't know what they're missing. Keep up the good work!

Hi Joe, thanx for this gorgeous page. I have also been to Chris' concert in Stuttgart on Tuesday and had the time of my life. Being a Chris de Burgh fan for 16 years now this probably doesn't mean to much, but anyway - a lot of "neutral" people also w

Yesterday I visited Chris de Burgh in Stuttgart. It was a great acoustic evening. Chris played 90 minutes only with guitar and piano, a very special one-man-show. After a short break he sang with orchestra and chorus and it was still amazing ! Three h

o

urs of splendid music - most of the songs were ballads and these are still the best songs of Chris de Burgh. It was wonderful to hear 'The snows of New York', 'Borderline', 'Lonely sky', 'The head and the heart', my favorite songs at the moment. When wil

l

Chris release his next album with 'Riding on a rainbow' and other new songs ? Does he plans to release another album with orchestra ?
Many greetings to all the CdB-fans all over the world from Tom in Stuttgart.

I've always loved your music as it speaks to me as I speak to myself. The song "For Roseanne" helped me to cope when my 13 year old daughter who had been living with me since she was 3 went to live with her mother. I was devasted over the loss of my

baby, until this song helped me to verbalize my feelings for her. I'm happy to say my daughter and I have a great relationship today and part of that goes to a fellow I consider a "soulmate" of mine. Reverend Lariat

Dear Joe,
Congrats on being the first person I've almost talked to on the 'Net. I actually live in Staines near London but my home is Dalkey, just a couple of roads up from the man himself. I've even taught his kids art before, My Dad's girlfriend, Tiggy, runs the

art school they go to.
I discovered Chris de Burgh years ago when Dad played me his tape 'Flying Colours'. From then on I went 'Chris Mad' and bought up every tape I could find. As a result I have about three copies of over half his work. I see him in Dalkey frequently on my t

Got my first taste of Chris, back from when I first heard Man on the line.. We were just high school kids, but he definately caught our attention! Since then I've had a few albums but nothing could compare to having attended his Concert in Ottawa last September. I was visiting for a few weeks, and was invited to tag along. I'd been to other concerts, but nothing like this.
I'm hooked, I'm on the hunt to find them all now.. :)

A couple of my favorite tunes are Lonely Sky, In a Country ChurchYard and The Traveller...

Anyhow, wanted to leave a note, and say hello, that I was here.
I live in BC, but spent a great deal of time in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.. gonna be on a Chris watch now, that's for sure!

Keep up the good work!

Now when I found these pages and concert tour dates I am wondering if I have to fly down to Hamburg to finally see him in concert???
Does anyone know if his tour will come any closer to Finland than Hamburg? - for example to Sweden, Norway or Denmark??? I would really be thankful for such news!!!

THANK YOU!!! I've been devoted to CdeB since hearing "Something Else Again" on the radio 17 years ago. In all that time, I've only met one person who knew of and appreciated Chris.(Paul from UofA 1980, are you out there?)First let me say I am so envio

u

Hi Joe:

Thanks for providing more information on CDeb.

I was at his concert Sept.23/96 at the St.John's, NF Memorial Stadium it was an awsome concert.

I think he is just terrific and he has a Super personality. I've been a fan for about 17 years now or so. This has been the first chance I've gotten out to see his concert. I hope he joins us next year for our Cabot 500 celebration this will be a big big event. I hear there will be some 37 or so bands lined up for next summer.

He did mention that he would return real real soon. Hopefully he'll be there.

Keep up the good work on your homepage. See yah.

I have been a fan of Mr. de Burgh's music since 1975 and have seen him in concert every time he has come to Ottawa,
Ontario. My husband and I had tickets for the Sept. 28/96 concert at the Civic Centre but alas, I became ill and was too sick to attend. When my husband came home from the concert and I asked him how it was, he sorrowfully told me that it was the concert I had been waiting to attend all my life - Chris de Burgh up close and personal - taking requests,
allowing people up on stage to sing - just him - no backup band, no fuss, no muss. I cried like a baby as I have always felt that this incredibly gifted performer and incredibly powerful songwriter was doing himself a grave disservice not showcasing HIMSELF more. I never had any trouble picturing him playing in a small club where the fans are very loyal and the venue is very intimate.

Mr. de Burgh, if you read this page, please come back to Ottawa, Ontario soonest and please come back live & unplugged.
If I saw it once, I would die a contented woman.

You are the reason why I write songs now and you are the reason why I learned to play the guitar.

I think you are wonderful.

Hello everyone!
I attended Chris' long-awaited concert return to his most-favourite city: Montreal! We've all loved him since the first time he appeared on CHOM radio and played in the little theaters and concert halls as well as the Old Forum. Tonight was the f

irst tim

e he's been at the new Molson Centre and the concert was absolutely mind-blowing!! Montreal fans have always been his most ardent admirers and tonight was no different; our love and admiration for him and his work showed in our applause -- it is the firs

t

time that I have seen Chris been brought to tears by the love of his "oldest & truest fans", all of us Montrealers... Chris was originally supposed to play only 90 minutes of acoustic in his first half but he got so carried away by the crowd that he pla

y

ed for at least *2 whole hours* before taking his break. A very lucky young lady by the name of "Marie Plourde" (sorry, no relation to me) was allowed to come up to the front and sing with him; she did an excellent job and received a standing ovation fro

m

the entire crowd of the Molson Centre!! No small feat as we can be pretty picky... All in all a wonderful and amazing evening, and I would expect no less from such a master troubadour. All my love to you Chris, from one of your long-time fans ~ Capucine

Simply, Chris De Burgh writes some of the best compositions in the music world and he has a history as long as the Rolling Stones. Being in the states I have a problem getting a hold of the albums (most I have to acquire via import orders) so now I

know the symphony album exists from 95' but I hope Chris keeps that harder edge guitar in his music like that found in 'High on Emotion', the Vision 3-part song off Into the Light, Heart of Darkness, Silent World ect... As a artist myself, I appreciate t

he heart-felt emotion of the music and its complexiety in form and content. Thanks for all those albums, keep it up.

I would also like to suggest to him that when he returns to Newfoundland that he visit Castle Hill National Historic Site In Placentia, which is the fort which protected the former 17th century capital of New France, Plaisance. I had the opportunity to meet Chris after his concert in Edmonton on the 17th of Sept., it was a definite highlight! I would like to get more info on what music books he has available, and how I can get my hands on them. Thanks, M.L.

I was at the CdeB concert in Winnipeg last night and it was incredible! He hasn't been here in almost 10 years so it was sold out right away. There were a lot of my old favorites along with some good covers. The Hungarian String Quartet was fantastic as well. It was a night of wonderful music!

Went to Chris' concert Sept. 18 here in Calgary at the Jubilee. Probably about 2000 people. It was one of the best yet. Afterwards we "ran" into him at Joey Tomatoes and he was such a darling, signing autographs, talking to all of us who wanted to t

alk to him. What a blessing to have him here in our Country.

my wife and I attended your concert in Sudbury in 1989.
I was already a huge fan; but, after seeing you perform, she also became one.
We wonder if you are planning to perform in Northern Ontario again.
And if so, when?
Also, how come "At the End of a Perfect Day is not available on compact disc?

I've loved Chris de Burgh's music ever since I was a little kid and Spanish Train came out. Since that time, I've seen him several times in concert and often return to his music for sentimental reasons. Lots of memories of times spent with friends, li

s

tening to his music while sitting around a bonfire. I'm a journalist now and had a chance to interview him this week. Personally, it was a thrill, but of course I had to be professional and not waste his time with my own personal thoughts and feelings! S

ill, he was a delight to talk to (and I can't say that about all the musicians I've interviewed -- trust me). Linda

Chris De Burgh's music is wonderful on so many levels,
so I just can't understand why more people in the United States aren't familiar with him. I actually kind of enjoy being one of very few Americans who is familiar with this amazing musician and songwriter; it makes his music all the more special. His music has been the only thing to bridge the generational music gap between my parents and me.

Hi all! I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your page.
I am fairly new to the internet and am just getting to know what is out there. I have been a Chris De Burgh fan since 1981 when a girl i was rooming with seemed to have "Patricia the Stripper" on every time I walked in the room. Figuring he must sing something else I listened to the entire tape of "Spanish Train" and was hooked. I have followed his career and music since. I am seeing him on the 24th Sep here in Halifax NS and can hardly wait. Recently met a girl who is another fan and so we are going together.
Joe keep up the page. It has given me a much broader outlook on Chris and his many many fans. I had no idea there were so many people from all over the world who have been touched by his music as I. I will continue to check back on this page and next time join your mailing list Again, thanks Charlene

I, too, love Chris' songs. I got hooked on "Lady In Red". I saw him once live here in Worcester as the intro band to another band I don't even remember. I was so taken by Chris voice and music that I began collecting his CD's. However, here in the "States", not all of them are available. I've had to coerce travelling friends to the UK and Ireland to bring back CDs I could not get here. I have them all except "Live in S

A

", "This Way Up", and "Beautiful Dreams". My daughter is getting married Sept. 6, and she and her new husband are going to the UK and Ireland for their honeymoon. I hope she can pick these up for me? Is Chris planning any new albums?

A co-worker of my husband's at Digital Equipment Corp had to travel to Ireland a few years ago and actually ran into Chris shopping at a local market! What a kick!

Is there any chance Chris will be returning to the US in the near future and, more importantly, anywhere in New England?

I'd appreciate any info.

Thx.

Great page, I'll be coming back, again and again!

Apart from my critique below I have to say that I am a Burgh fan since I discovered pop music in 1982 and thus I am grown up musically with his songs. Among my favourits are "Satin Green Shutters", the entire Spanish Train album (one of the greatest i

n

the seventies as Supertramp's Crime of the Century, Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, Led Zeppelin IV, Queen's News of the World, and Bowie's Ziggy), "In a Country Churchyard", "Crusader" (the album and especially the song), "Eastern Wind" (My absolute f

a

vourite together with the epic "Revolution"), the entire Getaway album (THE greatest album of the 80s!), "Moonlight and Wodka", the epic "The Leader", "Blonde Hair" and "The Snows of New York".

One of the greatest singer/songwriter with a little problem (from my oppinion): his stuff suffers from overproduction since "Man on the Line" in 1984. I think he should record unplugged or on the other hand supported by a good old rock band (why not S

u

pertramp - that would be a funny event, if you know what I mean...). It always makes me sad, listening to fantastic songs turned down by so-called "perfect" production and arrangements. He should go back to the roots, jump out of the wardrope and start s

nging.

I join the rest by saying that I too have enjoyed CdeB's music since the early '80's. Sure wish he did more video's though!
I kept looking for his music and was told by the music stores that he hadn't released anything after Flying Colors.
I was amazed when I did a Web search and found so much information on him. Albums I'd never heard of before!
I was more then tickled to find how many he has released...no I just have to figure out how to get them.
I would love to get the Beautiful Dreams cd, which isn't listed here in any stores yet. I did just get

e hoped we could see him in our last year there, but he didn't have a concert near us that year. We have regretted not going to at least one of those dates. It would be great if he had a concert in Alberta for all of his fans here. Content with CD's f

Hey! What a delight to find other fans worldwide. I feel pretty isolated here in the U.S. where most people still have never heard of Chris...or think that "The Lady in Red" is the only thing he's ever written. And thanks for all the effort that went i

nto creating your page, Joe! If, as you say, it's still under construction, all I can say is that I can't wait to see what it looks like when YOU think it's finished! Thanks again, and I'll definitely be checking in from time to time.

I have been a C deB fan since the early 80's. I did own every album he recorded until they were stolen. I even had "The Very Best of Chris deBurgh" which isn't available in Canada. I have rebuilt my collection, but if anyone knows where I can get "The Very Best Of...", Please let me know.
I saw Chris deBurgh in concert at the Montreal forum for his Man on the Line tour.
What a concert. I have missed his last two concerts here in Halifax. I am really looking forward to his next concert tour here in Canada.

Chris' music is right up there with the best around. His music has meaning, depth and above all, emotion. I have never felt that any song of his was fake (albeit several tounge-in-cheek). It's great to know that I am not the only one who appreciates his m

I hope he tours Australia soon so I can finally see his show. Drop me a letter as I would love to hear from other fans around the world.
P.S. "Blonde Hair, Blue Jeans" is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

Great job! I'm a fan of Chris De Burgh since 1982 when I heard "Don't pay the ferryman".
His two songs "The lady in red" and "Moonlight and vodka" were quite popular in Russia.
The last very strange one was about Moscow and probably that made it popular.
For the first time (I hope not for the last time) Chris De Burgh visited Moscow in 1994.
I saw him in concert in Moscow. It was great. And his new album with orchestra sounds like a beautiful dream.
Everlasting music.
