Hi Chris,
another short notice: we have just seen the DVD from the concert in Kiel and it is great. Nice to discover ourselves for some short moments. I remember the day as my best birthday present I have received.
Good reason to be high on emotion.

Then Guenter decided to look on TV NDR Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and discovered a report about the concert yesterday evening with an interview of you. They said on TV: ..people were "high on emotion" at the concert and they showed a lot of good pictures.
For all who can read this and are interested: the report will be repeat tomorrow morning 9.00 h NDR Fernsehen "Ländermagazin".
Best regards to you and the band and the fans from
Hanne and Guenter

P.S. Hi to the woman from Stade who had the seat near my husband: we saw you on the DVD!

Dear Chris,
back from Schwerin after 1,5 hours of driving at home it was a very short night.
But we are still high on emotion: the concert was fantastic and we didn´t have any rain (and snow) at all!
It´s unbelievable. Friends of us told us some hours before, we must be complete crazy to go to an open air.
Sorry to hear that you have got a sore throat, get well soon!
Best regards to you and the band, they were good as ever.
Love from Hanne and Guenter

I come along the river Elbe from Magdeburg to Chris de Burgh. “Down by the river” and I have fever “Saturday Night Fever” in Pillnitz. It was a “summer night dream”. I am “dancing in the rain” (rain?) (Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain). “Words don`t come easy”. Thank you. Thank you very much for the moment with you and your music and your band. Really it was a “hot summer night” (deeply felt).
I wish you all the best for your new projects and hope your fleet come “down by the river” Elbe in Magdeburg. I wait for the day after Carmen Nebel and look for your “Moonsteps (?)”.
Love & Blessings Manuela

HI Chris,

I just ge out of the hospital after three months and two surgery and two weeks ago I have dreamed that you have announced tour dates in Canada. The following morning, I urge my wife to check your web site and badly there is still nothing yet. What a disappointment! At lest there is the new album coming and the new DVD. I hope that they will be available in Canada not too long after the european contries! Please don't forget us this time! My two daughters, my wife and I are waiting to see you again. I have watched the Monnfleet video and the songs seems to be very good as usual! We could hardly wait for October!

With all our love!

My dearest Chris,

Thank you from the heart for the wonderful show in Bad Bruckenau (with the coughing sound effect, please) and the MAGNIFICENT show in Dresden! You were fantastic! And so were the “boys in the band”. Congratulations to all!

Once more I am urged to say how incredibly lucky and grateful I feel, not only for discovering your amazing musical charisma 27 years ago, at the age of ten, but also for having the chance to be enchanted and overwhelmed by it during your unique live performances since 1992, when you played in Athens. You never cease to amaze me with the emotion, passion, warmth, energy, love and light you put into your music and live act! If only you would grant this gift to your many Greek fans who still love you and await you…

May the Lord always give you good health and inspiration so that you will continue to brighten our world as a Crusader and Braveheart of contemporary music!

With admiration and respect,

Dimitra Dourouda
Athens, Greece

P.S. If the menacing Dresden half-baby-spiders keep threatening you, let me know!! I’ll do my magic to send them away; it works fine with the clouds: it NEVER rains at the shows that I attend – hahaha!

Hi Chris,
when I think about the concert tomorrow evening in Schwerin, I have very mixed feelings: on the one hand I´m looking forward to the concert, on the other hand i feel a little bit guilty that I have persuaded my husband Guenter to come to this event.
After the very wet concert in Hannover 2 years ago Guenter swore: never ever open air, I´m really too old for such experiences!!
Actually it´s raining cats and dogs, we had a thunderstorm (but also a little bit of sun) and it seems the weather will not change very much until tomorrow. And it´s so damned cold! We are thinking about wellingtons and warm coats ...
When I´m looking out of the window, I can see the MS Deutschland (in TV-series she´s called the dreamship). She is lying at the pier and will start in a few minutes for a cruise over the Baltic Sea, and the passengers are not to be envied by this weather, brrr...

So we still will hope for a beautiful evening without rain, you know: hope is dying at last!
See you tomorrow!
Love from Hanne and Guenter

Dear Chris,
just looking back to three very wonderful summernights in your concerts in Salem, Castle Reichenschwand and Kloster Wiblingen, I think I should leave you a short message of memories to this extraordinary week.I discovered a muscian in you, who can joke around and even laugh so much that he cannot start a song as Revolution, what filled my heart with joy in Reichenschwand, what had been the first place on which a castle had an open cafe at night and was not closed. So the after-show-time was really in a beautiful ambiente in a summernight, extremly romantic like in castle Salem after five years. A special discovery I had after the concert in Salem at night. Found Germany's unique railway-art-rest-station. What a funny and lovely discovery! If I have time I upload some photos on facebook that you can see them. It is Illertal. This to two romantic rocking concert-nights. You can imagine my heart jumped higher with every minute on my way! T'wss only possible through your concerts! Ulm was a bit different for me though you thought it was the best concert you have given till now. Have no idea how you came to this thought, but I was really impressed by the way in which all the audience sang "People Of The World" together with you. This song is such a great song for this what had happened to Iran. Got the information that Iranian fans are in fear, that they cannot get your CDs from the postoffices there, because of this song for Neda. That shows how difficult the regime in Iran is for the inhabitants there. But they go and ask for your music so much, talk with the post-officers there and they assure them, that they can get the post of your music home.
I thought I should let you know this here and not over Twitter.
For you and Band and Jason and Claudia all the best for the next concerts in Germany though we can't change the actual bad weather in this summer. It is amazing that Jason wants to go through the dessert in September to help to built a hospital for the youth in England who is in danger. Hope much will help him by his charity work. Really a good idea. Greetings to Jason too. Enjoy your concerts with the band and your audience. I'll see you later again.

love
Monika

Hi Chris,

I like the design of the "Moonfleet" website a lot (hello Astrid, you did a very good job!). It looks very dramatic and suits the topic very well. Well done!
Chris, "People of the World" and "Everywhere I Go" are just perfect, very good CdeB songs. You can sing along with the catchy chorus at once, which is typical of you (sometimes). And still talk about a very sad thing as the passing-away of Neda, which was cruel and completely senseless, as war is, and you touched so many peoples` hearts and kept up our memory of hers. How do you do it? Tell me your secret :-) I can hardly wait to listen to all of the "Moonfleet & Other Stories" songs, wish I could listen to them before the release (what will never happen.) Moreover, I can hardly wait to return back to the "madness" (in Dresden, for me) again. I guess everybody needs a little "madness" from time to time to have a good time and escape from the "real world" (from the point of view of an average person like myself). I just love it and hope you will never stop doing this!
Love, Sibylle

Dear Chris, as to "madness" - I think no one really can imagine how much power it takes to keep up the energy at a concert, especially at such a "wet" one. But the show in Bad Mergentheim was magnificent. Chapeau! And I believe everyone out there is glad to grant you a day off once in a while to rest and breath deeply in return for all what you give to us.

Dear Mr. de Burgh,

it has been a great concert this evening in Reichenschwand. My Mom and me enjoyed it very much, even the weather was like christmas time. (but we didn't hear the bells, only "Stille Nacht") :o)

It was was our 11th concert with you since many years... so we had eleven special evenings with your music in fantastic places.

Looking foreward to your new album "Moonfleet". The two new songs you played were even very good.

Take care and keep well and fit...
Thank you for your amazing music!

Dear Chris,

Last Sunday, in lovely, sunny, fantastic weather my husband and I spent a nice afternoon in the beautiful, medieval town of Bad Mergentheim. After that, under influence of/surrounded by very old trees :) we enjoyed your rocky concert despite the rain during the first half of the show. Btw the band and also the sound were great.
Special thanks for 'Sailor' and the solo-versions of 'In A Country Churchyard' and 'Those Were The Days'. I was happy that my favourites from your last album FOOTSTEPS still were/are on your set list: 'The Long And Winding Road', 'Without You', 'Africa' and 'Footsteps'.
And 'Everywhere I Go' will be a hit-single/success!!!
Thanks to Jason for being so kind to me, to me.
...and I love the new layout of the website inclusive the new pictures; especially the big one (= pic. No 2).
Good luck for the rest of the tour. See you in Rastatt again (row 3).

With a heavy heart, Gerlinde - not mad in Bad Mergentheim.

Just watched the promo video for Moonfleet and Other Stories, what can I say - WOW! From what I heard of the song clips throughout the video they sound absolutely amazing, I cannot wait for it to be released. Another brilliant album from a very talented man that i'm sure will be among your best work yet. Cant wait to see you in concert again, perhaps you will be in Bundoran again sometime in your upcoming tour?
Again thank you for your music that continues to be the soundtrack of my and many other peoples lives throughout the world, keep up the great work, God Bless...

I am very much looking forward to "Moonfleet" CD. I remember reading the book a couple of times when I was in elementary school and I was enthralled with it, I think I shall have to do a re-read before the CD comes out. Chris always amazes me with how he and I have similar interests and ideas! So many of the songs on "Footsteps" were the ones I loved when I was growing up and now he is doing "Moonfleet", it is no wonder I love Chris's music, we are kindred spirits.

Dear Chris,
I am still impressed about your last concert in Salem after five years. That you decided to make a party-night out of the concert made me so glad with Sailor and Living In The World And Ship To Shore and not at least I was completely surprise that you sang "I Want It". To nearly every song you played I have a memory to a place where I have seen you in concert meanwhile. It feels as would you sometimes take a walk back to all the places with your audience where we had been. I am wondering how much of your written songs on the albums of the past you still know and could play. I did not dare to wish me "Tonight" a very old song which I would love to hear live one time. It is perhaps not in this tour possible to go back to very old songs, but perhaps one day you find a place where you would like to play the one or other. It was such a beautiful night down in Salem, that I just thought I let you know. Never forget!
love
Monika

I became a fan in 1976 with "Spanish Train And Other Stories" but collected "Far Beyond These Castle Walls" the same year and have every album/CD since then except the compilations. Actually, I even have four of them, too. I've never known why Chris didn't hit in the US because everybody for whom I play his work likes it. Could wish for tours, but alas! At least Europe gets him live, and that's something. How does Canada feel about him, I wonder?
Will there ever be a biography/autobiography? I'd so like to know more than the bare essentials about influences, history, and so on.
Sing gently, Chris. Your songbird watches you, I know.

Hi Chris, I started to collect your first ten albums in vinyl. Of course I have all your records as cds too. But hearing the old ones on a simple record player is really funny. It is a feeling to be 15 again! I remember when my friends and I bought a collection called "The Chris de Burgh Story". We shared the collection because we had not enough pocket money. That was in 1983!
Have a nice time in Germany during the summer concerts. We go on holiday to Great Britain and Wales tomorrow. Take care, Andrea Wenig
