Dear Chris de Burgh,
On Thursday 24.09.2009 I was with my younger sister on your concert in Osnabrück. I got the Ticket to my 30. Birthay.
We sat in the fifth row. I wanted only to thank you for this great evening.
I never have counted on it that I will see you live.
I am a Mom of two miraculous girls (4 and 11)an I am single parent, and your music the last years has helped me through a heavy time.
So, I would like to thank you that I could forget this evening in Osnabrück once my whole worries.
And only your music has helped me.
This evening was very good to me. Thank you very much.
Greeting

Hello Chris,
I want to say thanks for this great and funny concert in Kassel.
My Mother, my aunt and my friend Anna, we had a lot of fun and we enjoyed your show even if we had sat in the last but one row.
I hope, You and your famous band will come back to Kassel soon for a new concert. Then, we will be in one oft the first row's!
My first concert as teen in the eightees was a concert of You in the Eissporthalle Kassel, I remember.
So, please come back to Stadthalle, because the sound is much better than in the Eissporthalle!
All the best for You and your band!

Dear Chris de Burgh,
I`ve visited your concert in Kassel.
It brings joy to me, to listen to your
songs over 30 years.
It`s a good thing: for example my favorite
song " ..the heart divine " or the
tales from " The storyman ".
In that way you give Entertainment, but
also something non - ordinary in my
Imagination for a while.
When I feel lonely and on my own, it`s growing a realy
good feeling in me . Between the
different moods a life could have, I´m
not lonely.
Good luck and wishes for your daily
business.

Dear Chris,
thanks for making my little German "tour" of 3 concerts such a pleasure! After a fantastische Osnabrück concert, Kassel and Magdeburg were wunderbar, super, einfach toll, what else can I say? A klasse band, a lovely and sehr lustige Jason at the merchandise (you should really integrate the man into the show!) and, last but not least - you, der Beste von allen! May I give you something? xxxxx (+x) t.b.c. ...

Hi Chris, My husband first got to learn all about music when he was post to the Falklands just after the conflict and has been a fan eversince, and so have I. We went to your concert at the Liverpool Phil Hall, and we're completely blown away, it was a terrific night. We hope to see you again and possibly meet up with you.Your music kept my husbands spirits up while he was on a lonely tour of duty. Best wishes to you and your family and long may you reign. XX

Sing, if you are happy.

Return to Magdeburg came Chris de Burgh.
Special thanks that you came return.
I cannot catch it in words.
Thank you for the great show (smile: and that we not "fasten seatbelts" in your show.) Your music is so fantastic. I cannot sit. Sorry.
Special regards to your band.
It was a great evening of my High-Emotion-Day.
All the best of your next Footstept. I will never lose your Footsteps. Do I find them once again in Magdeburg?

Cher Chris,
votre Marion
Dieu vous benisse.

Hi!
I heard about the new album "Footsteps" and then I looked in the site. One of my friends was going to Germany so I asked her to buy me the CD. Since the first time I heard Chris de Brugh's music, I fell in love with his voice and songs. I bought all of the albums on original CDs. I am proud to say that I have learned and developed my english with his songs. Today when my friend brought me the new album I was soooooooo happy. Hearing these beautiful well known songs with the voice of my idol makes me very very happy. And now watching the story of this album in the site made me almost cry. One of my most important dreams was watching a live concert of Chris de Burgh, and even singing in his choir. 2004 I was able to come to Emmendingen Germany and I could even tell him I came from Iran. With all the older songs I sang along, and most of the other guests were astonished how I know all the songs by heart. I have a picture were I stand near him in front of the secene. I love Chris de Burgh, I admire his work, his thoughts and his voice. I hope to be able to see him again in a live concert and maybe have a chance to meet him personally.
I admire you as a great artist.

Hallo Chris,
Viele liebe Grüsse sendet Dir Dein Fan Norbert

Hi Chris,
just like Anna (see previous post in this guestbook) I have seen you last night in Kassel and I could not have been more thrilled by your great show! Amazing band, songs, light-show and atmosphere, I will never forget it!
I have been listening to your music since I was a child (I am 25 now) and have always loved the stories you tell in your songs. So you can imagine how happy I was when you sang 'Mirror of the Soul', my absolute favourite song on your album Storyman. Good job! :-)
On our way home, my parents who were with me said that not so many people in my agegroup would know or like you and your music. Although that might be true, I am convinced this could be changed. Because my brother-in-law, who had only known 2 of your songs before yesterday and at first was not very excited about going to your concert (yes, your concert was some kind of family-event ;-))was just as excited as the rest of us afterwards. He kept on talking about what a great voice you have and how he loved the whole concert. I guess you got yourself a new fan yesterday *smile*.
Thanks for the wonderful evening in Kassel!

Hello Sir,
I must confess - I haven't really been a fan of Yours, but yesterday I've been to your concert in Kassel, because a friend of mine gave me a spare ticket.
And I must say - it was just a great experience and during the show I became a fan, somehow ;-).
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful and varied show. I didn't know, that You are such a funny guy.
"Time for a Schnaps" - how I laughed!
Unfortunately I wasn't the Lady you danced with, because me and my friends were sitting in the very back of the room. Besides, I was wearing a bilious green T-shirt :-).
Well, maybe the next time.
I hope You enjoyed Your time in Kassel, there ist so much to see here, and to discover... Not only the Kasseler Bier, you know :-).
Thank You once again for the great show!

Hi Chris,
I have hoped you would come back to Vancouver, BC for many yrs.
I have been following your music since I was 19. I won't say how long that has been.
Your music has been played all these years and only have been able to see you twice. Friends and co-workers bring me your new Cd's when they visit Europe.
One day I hope to see you again.

Dear Chris,
savely back home from Merkers I am happy that I could be there this evening with you. I loved to hear a christmassong and "Ship To Shore" and "At The End Of A Perfect Day". To the last song I have a memory to the Meistersinger-Halle in Nürnberg, the first live- concert I have heard and seen from you. You played it there as a wish from the audience and it was the first song I knew well from the times in the past.
Sorry I must end writing. It is just fire-alarm in this town, that makes me nervous. I must look what it is.
love

Hi Chris,
wow, what a place for a concert it was yesterday in Merkers!! It was something very special and started right away with going down 500 metres in the elevators and then the ride on those trucks. Felt like being on a roller coaster.
The concert was great and I enjoyed the special version of "Moonlight And Vodka" with you playing the guitar instead of the piano. It was different, but nice. And listening to "Perfect Day" was great. Thanks a lot for singing "Carry Me" again.
I had a great time here anyway spending time with friends and walking around Bad Salzungen and the lake. Now I'm looking forward to Kassel.
Travel safely and take care,
love and hugs,
Andrea

I saw dozens of 'rock' concerts in 40 years and - even if Chris de Burgh does not shake as Angus Young or the background did not rivalize with The Wall... - the one in Antwerp Tuesday was more than a concert, it was a real 'show' like few artists offer: simple but talentuous, humoristic while professional, great musicians, perfect sound engineering... To be honest, I came with some souvenirs from "Man On The Line" in my head and expected the worst from "Footsteps" sung for elderly women siting in the Parterre. I discovered an exceptional singer and musician as well in the covers ("The Long And Winding Road") as with his own compositions ("The Mirror Of The Soul"). A really enjoyable night, certainly on of my best musical experiences. Thanks a lot, Chris!

This is a message for Heidi and Rudi concerning their message written here on 19-9-2009, in which they wrote about the same fans always being in the front row and that they were glad that these fans were not in Kiel to take your seats away from you..................
Well I assume that I am one of the fans you are talking about, and feel pretty upset about what was written..and I would like to point out......that EVERYBODY has exactly the same chance to get front row seats...we don't get any extra privalidges.............you just have to book your tickets up as they are released. That is exactly how we do it.
We don't take anyones seats away from them..............we pay the same price as you and we are entitled to sit in the seat we have paid for.

Dear Chris!
Now we are back from our holidays in the North of Germany that we organized "around" your concert in Kiel. It was the 3rd concert we saw this year. We had an awsome time in the Sparkassenarena. I think it was the best concert I saw this year. You and the band were great (my sister would say David was the best) and we can't wait to get a grib on the DVD that was filmed there. What a wonderful memory of a great day and holiday!
Thank you for shaking hands with us.
We hope to see you and the band again soon.

Hi Chris,
What a beautifull show in Groningen (hard to pronounce for a Irishman but we'll forgive you) Also special was the guest-performance of John Helliwell of Supertramp (you should have played A lonely night in Paris with him)
As always, in Ahoy, Tilburg and last year in Hannover, it was very special to join the concert, the music and the athmosfere are feeling like a warm blanket around us. We were sitting on the front row and also that is special. Thanks for all and especially on behalf of my wife who got a big hug and a kiss from you, she is still walking in clouds.
Hope to see you next year.
Keep well and God bless,

Thank you so much for your lovely concert in GRRRRRRRoningen..
It feels like we were back 30 years ago..so much memories from my student-period :)
Could you (or someone else) tell me the title of the song which sounds in the beginning like a gregorian song? You took us in your talk back to a 15 century chapel. Hope you know which song I meant?

Dear Chris,
Just back home and I must say thank you so much for the "Omsterdom" concert. Very different 'tourist' experiences there and I will particulary remember the Van Gogh Museum - very special to me.
Of course your concert was the main highlight of my trip. Well maybe... ;-) It was fantastic as always and I was delighted to meet up with some lovely fans of yours. It was just wonderful how you 'tailored' the concert to make it quite special for certain people there. I was quite concerned when you did TLIR though - what an experience!!
Now I'm back to dreaming - something even superstars like you do?! Just hope that my dreams come true and that there will be more concerts announced soon please?! I've started to get withdrawal symptoms already!
Thanks to 'the boys'and John H - they are all fantastic musicians! Best wishes for the rest of this year's touring.
From the heart!

Dear Chris, thank you for a great evening in Amsterdam last night, if it hadn't been for Niki winning the tickets I would never have been there, our seats were very near the back so not very good for photos, but I got some rather nice videos instead.:-))Once again it was great to see you in the afternoon and very generous of you to give your time for the hugs, autographs and photos and those words you said to me ;-)Thank you sooo much for that.I hope you got the rose and chocolate that you couldn't take from me during your walkabout, I wasn't sure if I would make it to the front so I gave it to the bodygaurd that was with you, and of course I did get to the front but that's life. I also made two new friends, Lore and Arash who I think you also know. Tonight you will be entertaining my friends Anneke and Kathy in Antwerp so I will be looking forward to hearing about that, so until we meet again I wish you safe travelling on the remainder of the tour and hope it won't be too long before we see you again.

Hi Chris,
well right now I am sitting at Cologne-Bonn airport waiting to board my flight back to Stansted and back to reality !! But I have just spent a brilliant 4 days in The Netherlands along with one of my friends. Claudia took me to a beautiful Island called Ameland and we spent 28 hrs there before we had to leave to travel to Groningen. Gosh that Island is soooo beautiful........talk about 'peace and tranquility', it was superb and the weather was great as well which was a great bonus :-)
Then we spent obviously 2 days going to 2 terrific concerts at Groninegen On Sunday and Amsterdam last night. Whow there was soo much difference in the 2 venues !!
Now today we have spent visiting the Burger Zoo in Arnhem and agin the sun shone and the weather was just
great :-) It was such a nice walk around the zoo, I enjoyed it very much indeed.
The only thing that marred the whole 4 days was an absolutely disgusting hotel we stayed in last night in Amsterdam !! Still something had to go wrong after such a great few days !!
I hope you had a safe journey to Antwerp, I think it is where you are tonight. Even If I cannot be there, I will be with you in Spirit.
And I will be back again to see you in Germany very soon........ then there is nothing on the horizon and it will be a very sad day after the Bremenhaven
concert.
Again I have to stress I have met and made some great friends in Germany and it really is all down to your
music :-))
well i have to go now s my flight is going to board, so I wish you a wonderful concert this evening.
Love and Hugs as ever,

Dear, dearest Chris,
When I got married last month I sang one of your songs to my husband. Together with my sister (who actually touched you last night and is now very, very happy..)I sang 'Suddenly love', one of my favorites. And we used the last verse of this song in our wedding invitation. I have you to thank for a very special moment in my life!! In fact: I've had hundreds of great moments with your music. For instance, last night at the HMH in Omsterdom.
It was simply fantastic..
Thank you so very, very, very much!!!

Hi Chris,
Looking forward to the concert in Amsterdam tonight. We've been to a lot of your concerts. The best was in the Hague, some years ago. Because of a big storm we couldn't come to the Rotterdam concert and you were so kind to come back to the Netherlands for the people who couldn't make it to Rotterdam.
It was a very intimate concert and we felt it was really special. My husband and I loved it.
I'm sure you'll make again a great concert tonight.
See you,

Dear Chris,
thank you for the great concert in Kiel. The emotions were very high during the whole time and still are...
Thanks to Chris (the "bodyguard") who told me during the break that the filming would be for a dvd coming up (very soon hopefully) and thanks to Chris (at the souvenirshop)where I bought the pin and who gave me the surprise card I was only allowed to look at when I'm back home and then think of him...
It was an amazing evening with great fans and a band that played marvellous. I also liked the fact that the saxophone player of Supertramp was there to play with the rest of the band. Please keep on doing such great concerts for a loooooong time.
See you soon,

Hi Chris,
finally I managed to go online again and wanted to say thank you for the great concert in Kiel.
After a 7 hours long journey I enjoyed walking along the Kieler Foerde in the afternoon and then your concert in the evening.
It was great to hear "Transmission Ends" and "Carry Me" during the solo part, though I missed "The Last Thing On My Mind". "Africa" was fantastic!!
Enjoy the next concerts and see you in Osnabrueck,
love and hugs,

Dear Chris,
I was on you concert last Wednesday in Warsaw. I have been waiting for this concert for a year. I was so excited, sitting in first row, just having the possibility to watch and hear yor amazing songs so close. Your music attends me through almost every moment of my life. I heard you songs first time 25 years ago and from that times your songs are always with me: at home, in the car, in most exciting moments of my life, when I am happy and when I am sad. Your lyrics are fantastic - every one is beautiful romantic story which follows me everywhere. I learn the words so that I could always sing "with You". Thank you for so many romantic moments in my life. It is the only music which inspires me to live.
Chris - YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

Hi,
I have been listening to your music for many years now and have always been a huge fan. I am just now listening to 'Footsteps' for the first time and wondering why you would put out an album of covers when your own music is so amazing, so I came to your website. Living here in the Middle East we receive music a little more slowly than other places in the world. The album itself is fantastic.. I love it! and now the meaning of 'Footsteps' is clear.. what a wonderful concept. Thank you for this!

Mr. De Burgh,
I'm not a fan, but that was a great letter you wrote to the Irish Times.
'Creepy' Crawley wrote a mean spirited, unedifying piece and I don't
know why it was even considered for publication. Your response was well
written, perhaps painfully accurate, and highly entertaining. Well done!

Hi Chris
I've just read an article about a "critic" in one of the Irish media having a go at your concert. Unfortunately the media will always have a go at the successful - I can't consider myself a CdB fan as such but I'm still very aware of your music and respect your contribution too.
Keep on making music....I'm even contemplating going through your back catalogue to listen more - clouds / silver linings...this may even get you more fans. Keep on Rockin'

Hi,
Just a line to say good on you for your response to Peter Crawleys remarks in his review. I'm not even a huge fan really but I admire you for not taking that sort of vitriol lying down. How easy it must be for talentless people to criticise those who create, entertain and have the guts to get on a stage and share their talent with an apreciative audience.I hope other critics take note! Well said!

THANK YOU. Your reply to "Creepy Crawley" was justified, and dignified. Thank you for being successful enough in your 30 + years music career to be recognized as an icon. You are, and more. Your human and humane. Thank you for not changing who you are, to "fit in" with the times, but playing to your strengths as they made you successful, not dismal. Hi Chris.
Just finished watching the video promoting your new album. In there you made a series of comments that almost had me off my chair cheering. You validated a point I made during a conversation, some 5yrs ago, with an American gentleman.
We were disguising the music of the bagpipe.
Firstly, I should say that I am Scottish born and raised and have been playing the Highland Bagpipe for about 28yrs, I now live in the US.
Anyway. His son play's the pipes, but feels he is not reaching his full potential. He made the comment. 'Well, you really need to be Scottish to be good at the bagpipes'.
Knowing this not to be even remotely true, my response was. 'What he needs, is to fall in love with the music, feel the music, let the music tell the story'.
I have been listening to your voice for many years. And to hear you say the things that I try to do with my music, and try to instill in my students, gives me confidence that am on the right path
Thank you TomT.

Hi Chris
I really enjoyed your concert in the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin on Wednesday 2nd of September.I have been a fan for the last 25 years.I was there with my Brother,as i had bought him a ticket for the concert as a present for his Birthday. He really enjoyed the concert and as a person who would previously not have been a fan,he is well and truly converted. The show was really a tribute to your love for the fans and your singing and performance was brilliant.I however can't say the same for a certain reviewer in the Irish Times.Creepy Crawley seems to be keeping the national past time of contempt towards people who are a credit to both themselves and the Country going by writing that rubbish in his so called "review".I think it's really sad that you have to read such rubbish in the newspapers when you perform at home.Your response to the so called "review" was excellent and very funny.Have you ever considered a part time career as a reviewer?,perhaps for the Irish Times!!.Hope to see you again in concert in Dublin and wishing you a very Happy Birthday in October.
Best wishes,

Dear Chris!
I just read your response to Peter Crawley`s review in The Irish Times. (very late o.k., but anyway:)
The first concerts in Dublin after such a long time of absence - So surely this was a review of special significance. Therefore this invidious and far from professional (not writing but)smearing must have hit you deeply. Stefan and I were there at the Gaiety Theatre. The concert was stunning (as all your concerts are!)We both crossed fingers for positive reviews. We hoped so much the Press won`t ruin your "homecoming" and the biblical proverb "A prophet has no honour in his own country" would be proved wrong at least this time.
Please, don`t let the affront of this scribbler lead to another absence from Irish venues! Please, continue to play concerts in (the East) of Ireland!
And please, stay the way you are! We woudn`t have you any other way.
Enjoy your concerts in Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands and in Germany.
So forget about this cockalorum and take comfort in your numerous fans all over the world (and in Ireland!).
Sadly this year we could only make it to Bundoran and to the first of your Dublin concerts. But we are always with you and your loved ones in our thoughts and what is more in our prayers.
God bless you.

My Chris.
It was about 1986. My friend has colour TV, a Russian TV called "Rubin", terrible big and heavy one. This time to own a colour TV in Poland was like to own an airplane - for rich men only;-) But it was the first time I've seen Chris with "High On Emotion". Yes, I'll never forget: the band, a large sheet behind them, and a big shadow of drummer "working".
After some years I started to learn English. I've began to understand something, listenig Chris' songs I wanted more and more. I discovered it is not only music, but lyrics, lyrics that is so moving sometimes. My collection of records, CDs, start groving.
Where is He from?!- I was wonder. Ireland. I must visit Ireland, I must see this country where CdeB lives. In 1993 my dream get real. Beautiful country - far, but so similar history, so beautiful songs, so good people.
One day I get message that Cris will play in Zabrze. It was a concert for VIPs and so far from me, from Warsaw, but how can I lost it?! I get ticket thanks a friend and went to train to Zabrze. Unfortunatelly I was too late, the train's gone and I had had no time to think. I'll never forget so fast driving my car to this city on this dangerous winter road. But when I get there, I knew why - fantastic concert. Some money from tickets aided Heart Foundation of prof. Religa - a man, who as the first transplanted heart in Poland (He died some months ago).
Warm June night and the concert in Zielona Gora. Big Moon ower us. I'll never forget not only people who coudn't sing "A Spaceman", but this moment when you were surprised when I gave you "In Dublin" with interview of you to autograph.
In Warsaw of course I've been when you played alone, and soon I'll be again, I count days to 16 of september.
Through all these years you were so close in my life in joy, in cry, everyday. Now my son could not have another name, of course he is Chris and the second name, of course coudn't be other than Patrick.
There were only two persons who have had so influence to my life: John Paul II and just you Chris.

Hi Chris - just read your letter in the Irish Times and the "critic" that inspired it. Good for you, answering that creep in that matter. His article was not only an insult to you, it was insulting to your fans as well! Just comes to prove though - Nul n'est prophète en son pays... If it's any consolation to you, you should read what some "critics" write about Celine Dion here in Quebec! Keep up with your work, those who really care appreciate it.

Dear Chris,
As a fellow musician who's been on the receiving end of a couple of biased reviews, though none quite as hideous as Creepy Crawleys, may I say that you've earned the respect of many people in the business for your witty and hilarious retort.
I know many musicians who hold similar sentiments against various so-called music writers but none of them have the guts (or the fan-base) to be able to respond in public like that.
Good luck with the future and as an after-thought to your letter to the Times, consider what the great composer Jean Sibelius said,
"Pay no attention to what critics say. No statue has ever been put up to a critic."

I doubt whether the Irish Times critic Peter Crawley will come here but i guess he is gonna end up vilified by all of Chris's fans. Was the guy really there?, if he hated it that much shouldn't he have just got up and left- I remember now, he couldn't could he, his toes were curled up.
I for one can't wait till I get another chance to attend one of Chris's concerts. I don't care what he wears,or how he cuts his hair but I do want to go and listen to his songs, and to listen to his lyrics.
Anyway Mr Crawley creep back under the rock you crept out from under and leave Chris to Burgh to his fans who are prepared to pay to see the man who is still filling venues after 34 years. Is there anyone else in the Emerald Isle who can boast such success?

just want to say how much Stewart, Andrea and I enjoyed the Last Night of The Proms at Salford..last night. We had a terrible journey up, which took over 5 hours, arrived at our hotel and literally dropped our bags off so we could rush off to get in the queue in an effort to get a good view for the show. Whow once we arrived we could not belive there were only about 30 people in front of us, we had visions of being way back in the audience!! Once the gates were opened as soon as you had finished your soundcheck, Stewart and Andrea made a quick dash for the front and then I joined them with our picnic food..........we got front row and were soo pleased, along with Chris R and Alison who made it down to next to us :-) The sound of you with a 78 piece orchestra backing you, along with the band, was brilliant.Your choice of songs was superb of course, you really do know how to get an audience to react to you :-))))))))))) But oh gosh it was sooo COLD all evening, but at least it was dry !! The whole show was great although there were some parts that were not so interesting for me at the start of the second halve. The Abba medley at the end of the first half was brilliant :-)) as was the last 2 songs, Rule Britannia, and Land Of Hope And Glory. To see so many people proudly waving their Union Jacks was an awe inspiring sight.......i was proud to be amongst those patriotic people.............and the firework dispays were FANTASTIC as well...I loved to see them :-)
Thanks for making our Saturday a little more interesting that the usual of sitting at home or shopping and housework!!
Hope you saw us there supporting you and waving our flags at you as well !!
I heard today that we missed an interview that you did during the intermission :-((
Just dropped our great friend Andrea back at the airport, and now it's time to catch up on some sleep....600 miles in 2 days is quiet tiring for me to drive these days !!!
love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Dear Chris,
four months ago we joined your fantastic concert in Münster.
Maybe you´ll remember: after the concert we met you in the hotel and you signed our tickets and said "cheers" to us with your glass of red wine.
Now there are only five days until your concert in Kiel. The 18th September is my birthday and your concert is the very best birthday present I can imagine.
Me and my husband are very happy to see you in the northern part of Germany. Do you know that the "Kieler Woche" is the world´s biggest sailing event? So it would be nice to sing "Sailing away" (which is not my most favorite song, but for Kiel it seems to be a must)!
My most beloved songs are "Here is your paradise", "Same Sun", "St. Peter´s Gate" etc. etc. etc. and I hope you´ll sing one of these.
So we are looking forward to next Friday and wish you and your family all the best.
Love from Hanne and Guenter
PS Your answer to Mr. "Creepy" Crawley was splendid. That guy must have a huge inferiority complex. People with such strong feelings of envy are unfortunate creatures.

I have enjoyed your music for many years now and was fortunate to attend the Proms in the Park event in Salford. Thank you for taking the time in your busy schedule to delight the audience. Hopefully when you are in this area again I will have the opportunity to attend a concert.
Your music is often a balm to my soul

Dear Chris,
I loved your response to Peter Crawley's review in the Irish Times.
When I read reviews like Mr Crawley's one I ask myself why some people launch personal attacks on others. All over the world there are many people of Mr Crawley's kind who simply cannot stand the idea that other people are happier and more successful than themselves. All they can do is run other people down and try to make them feel miserable. They simply do not have a good word to say about others.
I guess Mr Crawley envies you your success and your ability to transmit a feeling of love, passion and excitement that you pass on through your music.
What you have done has sustained you through a 30-year career. You have climbed the ladder of success up to the top and you have managed to stay up there. Congratulations!! Isn't this proof enough that you are doing things right.
What do you expect of a person like Mr. Crawley who seems to lack all positive feelings and what's more who lacks imagination.
I doubt that Mr Crawley knows what it means to have a good time. Poor creature!
The world does not need any "Creepy Crawleys". No one has the right to frown upon any single person.
Keep pursuing your personal unique path! I am looking forward to many more concerts that let me walk away high on emotion and that let me spend floating for days, weeks, months ....
Best wishes
Birgit

Dear Chris
I was on the concert this year in Weinheim in Germany .I loved it so verry much. I loved your kind to sing , your nature and your kind you make your concert. You can give a lot of people so much. You have a very good energy and you are a man, who is in your own middle and you a man calm like the sea .But not all people can feel and see this. So I think people who are with their energy low or running every time, they can not understand what you can give them. When I read something in newspaper who is not my opinion, I feel that the writer had not understand, what man you are been. I wish you very happiness and luck on your tour in Europa and Africa. I will see you in the concert in Kiel.I look forward to hear you in Kiel.Sorry for my bad English. I want to send my love and laugh to you.

I have been a fan since the early '80s. I have only seen Chris live once, but would certainly not hesitate to do so again; July 26, 1984... Thunder Bay, ON Canada was a stop on your North American 'Man on the Line tour'.
My impression has always been that your music has a message; is making a statement. When you write, when you sing, the music comes from your soul.
Thank you...!!

Chris,
Not a great fan of yours but I can appreciate your appeal, I think you have been a great ambassador for out country abroad.
I have read your letter to the Irish Times and would like to congratulate you for having the restraint to be so pleasant about having such things written about you. Its about time someone stood up to the so called media who have decided they need to tell us what we should want or think for that matter, I personally wouldnt buy a ticket to go see you in concert, but that gives me no right whatsoever to frown upon any single person who does.
I could understand a review is maybe helpful or otherwise to new/up and coming acts who without such reviews would possibly have no audience whatsoever, but in your case I seriously doubt a review good, bad or indifferent would make any difference to your ability to sell out a show.
This review is just typical jealousy and bad manners that we in Ireland have unfortunatly become accustomed to, I for one find it embarrasing and shameful one and will not in future fund that kind of behaviour by ever buying what has become a snobbish rag ever again.
Good day to you sir and the best to you and yours

I know your song, Lady in Red was a classic and I like it very much. A few weeks ago a friend forwarded me a slide of Philippines sceneries with a song background of "This is your Paradise". I was so enthralled by that song that I had to email her back to let me know who was the artist. She told me it was you. Ever since then there is no day passed, without playing that music/slide and it ease the pain of a condition that my lovely wife has been undergoing for the last four years - depression. Thank you, Chris for giving me your music to glimpse back our wonderful days together for the last 37 years. I am totally grateful.

Hope to see you again sometime.

Dear Chris,
I did the figuring. In fact I just can't bear staying at home when you give six concerts all over the north of Germany! I miss you so much.
Do you believe in destiny? Somehow it had to be Kiel. Kiel is not exactly around the corner of my home - to be precise - it is a journey right across Germany, almost 1,000 km. Going by train it takes you about 8 hours.
Well, I had "several" possibilities to get tickets for Kiel... and guess what... I almost got tickets for even row 3... but now I have successfully struggled to get row 7 !!!!!!!! Row 7 is not sooo far away either, is it? I guess it depends on how big the venue is ;-).
!!!!!!!!! A tremendous joy surges up in me, I am so excited !!!!!!!!!
Now you might think I'm a little crazy. But you know, sometimes you just have to be crazy, you need to break out of your dull everyday life. No limits in life. It is these adventures and the spiritedness that makes you feel the sense of the being, the life in your body; to touch the changing shapes of new realities every day. I need wider worlds, wider dreams, and this is a reason now to venture out...
You just can't always go about your routine... closing up the day, tying it string by string like a garment.
This absolute spontaneous decision gives me some peace. I feel the happiness flying inside me, swimming in a daydream. My bad mood is gone. I feel interested and hopeful again. We are going to see us next week !!! :-) :-) :-)
I am making ideas one after another as I often do when I am excited, being creative, full of ideas and plans!
See you next week on Friday !!!!!! :-) :-) :-) (I hope you are reading this still before you go on tour)
I love you,
Yours Julia

Dear Chris,
just dreaming along to Pegasus, who could perhaps bring me back to Ireland, a lovely country where you live. The people were all really nice there. It was a complete different world to Germany. And it must have been night all the days, because it was raining so much on my wandering ways in the "Monsun". Well, I could have swimmed up the stairs to PowerScout Gardens!:)
Chris I want to say a big ThANK YOU soooooo much, that you have made it possible that I could see you in Dublin. My first flight over the clouds was perfect done by the pilots. We got a cup of coffee in the sky-cafe! It was a lovely venue to perform, this small Gaiety-Theatre and Sam is happy about your greetings in Iran at the moment.
The audience was wonderful in singing along with you to your songs, as you told before and I am very impressed by these days. I could really enjoy every minute of these two seldom days in my life and it means a lot to me that I have seen you performing in Dublin. Well in Germany we say 'it is like a home-game' and it is very different to the concerts in Germany. A great surprise was, that your son came and played "Blackbird" with you. I am still impressed about the guitar in this song. I found Captain America's cookhouse and the Trinity College, took a walk on the ocean, so I lived my life for three days on this beautiful island as would I have always lived there. The hotel was fantastic. I choosed one in the old victorian style and everything I got to eat in Ireland tasted differen from the food in Germany and very well.
I hope that your friend who had an accident will survive and recover. We once had such a case here with a little child and she survived well, through the hospital and the good work of her doctors and nurses. So I hope there is a good chance for him too.
Please send greetings to Jason and Nige and to Chris Andrews. It was nice to talk with them too. Sam told me another wish, but I think it will take a bit time until I can meet you again.
I'm looking forward to see and hear you in Merkers after some days of normal work in Germany.
Slowly I should take a bit time to sort out some photographies and to write a little bit anywhere in the world to give all these wonderful impressions a trial to hold them in a picture in words.
Farewell Prince Of Tales, I hope there'll be a day to meet again.
with love

Hi Chris,
I´ve heard that Patricia had an appearance at your concerts in Dublin. And that she was in very good shape despite her age. I know that she is very old and it would be very exhausting for her to travel long distances. But after all I´ve been told, I´m sure she would be able to make it to Germany once again. Wouldn´t it be nice for her to relive all the many great times she had here? Especially the concert in Merkers would be surely nice for her. Maybe the atmosphere of the old mine bunker will remind her of the days when she was dancing in some dim cellar bars ;o). My mother in law works for elderly people, I´m sure she would care for her, if you need some help. By the way, it was the day of my 30th birthday, when I saw Patricia for the last time (and I´m nearly 40 now!). So pleeeeaaassse take her with you to Germany! We love her!
Keep on rocking!

Fantastic night at the concert on Tuesday in the Gaeity. Chris, you put on a great live show as always. Last saw you in the RDS and loved you then too! Want to say a special word of thanks to Jason at the merchandise shop. He saved the night by kindly replacing my sisters programme which had disappeared from her seat as she couldnt resist the urge to go up to the edge of the stage to dance (I reckon she could be your number one fan in Ireland Chris!). We got our signed programmes on the way in and only for Jason she would have left empty handed. Come back again soon Chris and make sure Jason is on your team.

Hi Chris,
well finally i have just arrived home (Thursday 3rd) at 20:00 hrs after 5 great days in Ireland and 3 great CdeB concerts :-)))))))))) Only on the first day did we have dry weather and then we packed in nearly 8 hours of sightseeing!!
What can I say about the concerts that has not already been said!! they really were brilliant, the Irish fans are FANTASTIC at singing along and always soo in tune with you :-) they sure gave you a TERRIFIC reception back to Dublin after a 15 year absence.
I have only known one reception like that before, and that was when we saw you in Montreal, Canada in 2005....Well done to all you Irish fans out there :-))))))
Each of the 3 concerts has a different memory for me, but all of those memories are great ones.
On the way back to the airport this afternoon, I had to drive through a terrible monsoon style storm.......it was not nice at all:-(
Now I'm off to bed to try to catch up on some sleep before returning straight back to work first thing in the morning. I have no idea how you can sleep in hotel rooms, although I guess you are used to it!! Unfortunately I'm such a light sleeper that every door that bangs wakes me up and each morning in my hotel the doors started banging at 05:00 so I was awake from then on..........i pray that I will sleep well in my own bed tonight.
Once again, thank you soo much for the 3 great concerts, they really were BRILLIANT.............
Love and hugs as ever,

Hi Chris, Welcome home. I was at your show in the gaiety last night, as to say I had a brilliant time is the understatement of the year. When you sang Snows of New York I just couldn't hold in the emotion anymore and I cried and cried.
I also was fortunate enough to meet you personally, and got my photo taken with you and you signed your autograph on my ticket. I will cherish them forever.
Thanks for a truly memorably night, it was well worth it, after having been seriously ill this year.
Hope you come back very soon.

Hello Chris.
Here people write remarkable feelings and experiences after a concert. To you it should be very pleasant. It is very good. We, your admirers, give you a particle of the positive emotions, in hope to give you force for the further creativity.
When you will arrive again to Moscow, we shall try to come necessarily on your concert. It would be desirable to plunge into those feelings which are tested by people at your concerts too.
Thanks for love to people!! Yours Michael and Inna

Hi Chris,
When I arrived home last night the rain came down! Back to reality!
Just to say that the two Dublin shows I saw blew me away! I expected a warm welcome back but those audiences were something else again!
You said something like the love coming to you from the audience was awesome... What we were feeling out there coming from you was just amazing. High on emotion, yet like others have said, such such strong emotions that brought tears too..
I feel so privileged to have been there just yards away from Captain Americas where your career started to take off!
Thank you for everything!
Salford soon...
From the heart!
Chris R

Hi Chris
Hope you and your family are well.
Had to put fingers to keyboard to say how much i enjoyed monday nights concert. Wow i've got to say the Irish sure do know how to sing it was absolutly electric in the Gaiety Theater!!! You were great!!! I enjoyed hearing Love of The Heart Devine one of my favourites off Quiet Revolution(my fav album) it was the first time i heard it sung live:0). Oh gosh Patricia was looking great too hee hee :0) I loved hearing it again after so long :0) and judging from the audiences response they did too :0)
I also send a thankyou from the bottom of my heart for the time you spared prior to the conert saying hello to a group of us and standing for photos too.
I never thought i would get the chance to meet you once let alone twice in one year!! You are a true gent.
Paulines face was a picture when she opened the card you signed for her :0)
Thankyou for sparing your time for us fans it really is appreciated...i wish you all the best for the forthcoming concerts.
Best wishes

Dear Chris, thank you so much for the most wonderful evening on August 31st at the Gaiety Theatre ! What an amazing concert, absolutely the best I have ever seen. It is hard to put into words the emotions of that evening. I had goose pimples, I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes throughout the concert – wow, what an experience !! And meeting you prior to the concert was of course the icing on the cake. As friendly as always you took your time with taking pictures and signing our tickets.
And the audience was just brilliant. Wow, I always thought we Germans were good singers. I was tought something different on Monday night !
I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it for my life ! I felt really blessed to be there to celebrate your coming home to Dublin and what a coming home it was !! I will never forget that evening for the rest of my life !
And it was also a very special time meeting with fans from all over the world. I never had so much fun and laughed so much together with so many great friends for a very long time. Thanks for getting us all together with your music !
Thanks again for all the special moments you gave me, I haven’t for one moment regretted my decision to come to Dublin.
And by the way – Patricia was fantastic considering her age !!
Love,
Evelyn

A stormer of a show in Gaeity on Tues 2nd Sep and a recall of the great shows you once performed in RDS way back. Lighting, sound and stage was amazing. The band are WOW, sounded like there were 100 musicians and Chris himself - well, the master at work. Superb superb - you need to stage this in o2 arena Chris.

Besides the fact that he is downright cute I love his music. I will keep buying it. I sign up at Amazon for all of his new releases. They just don't come along quick enough. I realize he is very busy. He is certainly my favorite artist.

We were blessed to be in the Gaiety Theatre last night, Monday 1st September, a thousand shows since the last time Chris played in Dublin. It was so worth the wait...we were blown away again.
It's been far too long, please make it a regular event.....
It was like the RDS all over again except we're just a little older...you just stayed the same ;-)
Thank you Michael and Caroline

Hi Chris,
Heading up to see you in Dublin tonight, can't wait to see you live again. I've seen you two times before, once in the RDS and the other in Feile (The Trip to Tipp). Great Times!
My favourite songs of yours are "The Traveller" and "Satin Green Shutters" I love the way all your songs tell a story. Timeless!
Have a great tour! and come back to Ireland again soon.

God they sing well in Dublin don't they? What a welcome home for you!
OMG Patricia was amazing at the age of 120!! Hope that the bloomers were suitable for a lady of that age! ;-)
Thank you so much for such very, very 'special moments' - even though it rained like hell in Dublin.
Hugs (lots and lots)

Dear sir,
i remember your last visit in thessaloniki in 1994 as if it was yesterday! We were standing amaizinging listening to your music, while i was studing for my medicine diploma.
Getting in touch with your music in adolesence ,while having difficult moments ,i got over it succesfully.
I wonder if you have any memories of thessaloniki. How many things have change since then and many others haven't.
We will be very pleased if your plans include us again in a concert.
And if not its ok,we will listen your music as before wondering about your thoughts!

Congratulations on a wonderful show tonight (31st Aug 09) in the Gaiety Dublin.
Magnificent performance and you certainly have not lost your talent to entertain with your voice since seeing you in the RDS circa. 20 years ago.
Don't leave so long to come back to perform in Dublin as in another 20 years I may have lost my hearing!!
