Dear Chris,
Your music has touched my soul for over 25 years. The first album I heard was the spanish train, I heard it in 1981, and have been your fan ever since. My very favourite is "The Same Sun", the beauty of the realm this song elicits exceeds words.
Have you ever considered a tour in Asian countries, specifically, Taiwan? I hope so, one day maybe.

Best wishes,
Susan.

I just wanted to let you know that your music has touched my soul in some mysterious way that I can't really explain. My husband died at age 53 in 1993. I was 49 at the time and his death was sudden and unexpected. One of the few things that stayed in my memory of those first days after his death was listening to "Lady in Red" at the funeral home when alone in the visiting room. For some reason it gave me permission to cry and I have been forever thankful. This thank you comes 15 years late, but I just moved from our home to a location at the Pacific Ocean beach and unpacking came across your cd "Into the Light" and played it. It all came back to me and was like a caress from someone I loved beyond belief. You have the talent to touch people's souls. Thank you. Sue

Hi Chris, thank you for your supportive message:)

And this endless road that we are on just keeps on going round
But there’s one destination that always is here to be found

So come with me, and you will see the light that shines for eternity
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you

Hi
Dear Chris;
As a fan of yours for ages,I want to thank you very much for your heartfelt message regarding the recent events in our country.I do hope we will overcome this ordeal too.
Your songs are the purest sources of inspiration.
I reel them off and they make sense in a way;the life of a child, the girl with April in her eyes and many many other songs that bear testimony to your wonderful sense of humanity.
But there seems to be a long and winding road to the point that we realize we are living in one world.
Way to go ,man .
You are fab,in the true sense of the meaning.
I salute you.
Ciao.

Dear Chris,

I really appreciate your warm message to Iranians. Your words demonstrate your sympathy and humanity.

As you know current situation in Iran is a great and old battle of white and black, good and bad. We know the end of this ancient story. We believe in freedom and the price that will be paid for this valuable achievement. I whisper "Wake up boys, there's a light at the window, I can hear someone knocking on the door, there are voices in the street, and the sound of running feet, and they whisper the word
"REVOLUTION!"

Hi Chris,
it was my first time to see you live in a concert – in Benediktbeuern. I was really deeply moved and even fourteen days later I can feel the atmosphere of the concert. Hearing your voice and seeing you in this ambiance - one of my favourite places - was very emotional for me, and I’m sure, it will last for a long long time. You are a great live-singer and performer. Your voice and your lyrics went straight to my heart. Thank you very much. I hope you will be back soon.

Sure all the pupils will treasure this evening with a friend.

Your affectionate behaviour and the honest way of singing your songs let us enjoy the evening with you.

Thank you for coming.

Hi Chris and Band,

thanks for the wonderful evening in Weinheim. It was the first time I saw you live in concert and I enjoyed it so much. It was a fantastic atmosphere and it felt so good to listen to your songs and ballads.

I was there with my husband and my 11 years old daughter. Originally she was not sure if she should come with us, but then she enjoyed it as much as we did - a new fan ...

Thanks and best wishes

so many thanks for your concerts in Bonn and Weinheim, I´ve enjoyed them so much.

And 1000 thanks to whoever was responsible for giving me a first row middle seat for my competition-winner-ticket.

I´ve just read a very touching comment about your concert in Winnenden. It´s so great, that you are never deedless, if something touches you. You´ve brought hope and confidence to the people.

And it reminds me to be very grateful, that I can enjoy your concerts without a sad cause. Just for having fun, singing, dancing and meeting friends.

Thank you!

Dear Chris and Band,
your concert in Bamberg yesterday was really extraordinary for me. "The Mirror Of The Soul" in front of a Dom, which once had been in a region which was my home for 9 years with a good friend of mine, felt so right. Walking along the old ways after more than fifteen years apart from Frankonia, seeing all the lovely places again, brought a lot of good memories back to me and that you have been there with me for a long, long evening, filled my heart with hope and joy. A great surprise, just when I was thinking about your leaving to "Borderline" was that you played a part of "Sealed With A Kiss" and "The Same Sun" again. Some tears are still in my eyes and that is Bavarian reality, that I love all these evenings with you so much. The last concert was like a firework in your music in good mood over the whole place. I can still see your smile and szenes of the concert in my mind and some tears about your leaving come up from time to time. You were gonna be really good friends to me with the spring in Bavaria and Frankonia and I hope this will stay in the future too.

Further two month of learning reading piano-notes more flutently are lying in front of me now, then the piano-school with all the worries is over for a while!:)) Well you can laugh about it, you can play!

Chris thank you for all the sunshine, your sweet appearance, your freedom and and music just in time.
Have a good time wherever you are at the moment and let us meet again as soon as possible.
Best wishes in love
Monika

Hi Chris,
just a follow on from my earlier entry...well we have just arrived home after a flight that actually departed on time for once, luggage that was already in the baggage reclaim as we came through from passport control and then a bus leaving right away to take us back to the mid stay car park and a trouble free journey on the M25!! All in all today has been pretty good:-)

I hope the private concert goes well tomorrow evening, and I wish you and Diane a safe journey home on Wednesday....also of course a safe journey for CA and Kenny as well. Please say a big hello to Diane for me, as we saw her at the last 2 concerts...well we saw her walk near us anyway!!

I have just read your statement about Iran on the website, and am now off to catch up on the news to see what has been happening over the last week.I knew there was awful trouble with the election, but it seems that maybe more has happened while we have been away.

I wish you a wonderful rest over the next few weeks.

Now I'm off to catch up on the news, then its straight to bed in my own bed (yeh), as its back to work for me and Stewart first thing in the morning.

Once again thanks for some great 'summer' or should I say cold winter concerts ;-)

Nearly forgot, thanks soo much for singing a few lines of Sealed With A Kiss last night :-))))))))))))))

Love and Hugs,

Thanks for 9 great concerts that I could attend in Germany and the 7 in England of course......even for me it has been a very busy and tiring time what with flying back to work between my 3 visits to Germany this tour, so I guess you must be well tired as well. It has been a bit of a strange tour for me, what with all the flights back and forth but I would not have changed a single thing. There were several ups and downs along the way, a few tears shed, but this evening I fly home happy :-))))))

Now I'm off to the departure gates!!

Hi Chris,

some days have gone by but I still feel as if I'm under the spell of the fantastic concert in Bonn. Therefore I felt I had to let you know how much I enjoyed that evening. Everybody, the audience, the band and yourself seemed to be in a fantastic mood, everything was just perfect. I loved how you presented Al with the flower box, those spontaneous ideas are just typical for you. I love all the emotion you put into your songs and my favourite moment is when you sing "Where peaceful waters flow" and you stand there with your arms streched out singing

Always, you are standing by my side
you're my inspiration, you're my battle-cry
And in your arms is the only place I know
Where peaceful waters flow.

I get goosebumps all over and tears in my eyes every time that moment comes during the concert.

I could only attend the concerts in Münster and Bonn, due to the worldwide economic crises, which has taken its toll with me, too. But I can assure you that those 2 days were the highlights which put a very big smile on my face during a very hard time.

I wish you all the best for the final concerts and all the ones still coming during this year and I very much hope to see you in Germany again next year.

Take care,
Evelyn

Dear Chris,
thank you very, very much for your fantastic concert in Weinheim yesterday! It was my 10. concert in the last 25 years. Last year in August in Schwetzingen ist was a very sad concert for me, because my friend and great love was in the hospital and I knew, that this was the end. So he died one month later - exactly on the day we meet us for the first time, twenty ears before.
I know, life goes on and so it did. But yesterday, at the concert, I feel it again! The vitality of life! I feel your spirit and I remember of the happy and lucky years in my life. And always your songs are on my side. The last month I forgot this a little bit... But yesterday I awake and recognize the new (old?) direction for my life in future. And so I have to say thank you again for a wonderful evening with wonderful music! And by the way: I also was one of the "lady in green" from the front row...
God bless you!
Best wishes

Dear Chris,

thank you so much for your wonderful concert in the Schlosspark of Weinheim yesterday evening. As Weinheim is my birthplace, I'll always habe a special relation to this town. So it was a sublime feeling to have the chance to see and hear you right there.
It didn't rain, we wore suitable clothes and you warmed us all. In a fantastical way you're able to fill the audience with enthusiasm: there are your hearty kindness, your great voice, your meaningful lyrics that impress so much. The auditor can laugh, weep (of happiness) and cheer all within 3 marvellous hours. You've really touched our souls and hearts. Listening to your overwhelming music, admiring your lyrics and impressive voice and above all your amiability, watching the stars in the clear sky, I felt like being in another world for a certain period of time, just feeling happy. Thank you for this unforgettable event wishing you all the best for your personal and vocational future. Go on like this as long as possible.

as far as I know it's father's day in the UK on the 21st of June. I'm not sure, but I guess it's the same day for Ireland.
In case it is father's day for you as well, I want to wish you a happy father's day.

I thought about something for replacing the chat that wasn't possible in Münster because of my low courage to come to the stage and found a solution.

Best wishes,
Monica

Hi Chris,

Thank you for a wonderful concert in Bonn !

It was great to hear some old songs, and I love that version of Moonlight and Vodka, with Nige on the accordion :-) )
It was a shame that the pigeon made us all laugh when it flew out from the back of the stage whilst you were singing,It must have been a bit distracting ?

Looking forward to Dublin Now !

Love and Many hugs,

Hello Chris,
thank you SO MUCH for the outstanding condert in Bonn on Wednesday! Apart from being a musical delight it was also very funny, with lots of beers and flower-boxes given away, and miner's lamps flashing in the dark of the night, and a very good backing vocals choir (= the audience) that night - good music & good fun!! Looking forward to my last concert of the summer tour in Weinheim tomorrow,
xx Sibylle

Hello Chris,

Thank you so much for the fantastic concert in Bonn! The whole trip was magical, especially travelling with a very good friend and meeting so many friends/fans there.

This concert experience was wonderful, so very different from the U.K. Tour format! Great chance to be with very 'energetic' fans! The little additions such as the beer being ordered, the vodka being served and the 'special presentation' of flowers to Al were just lovely! ;-)

The bird flying out from the back of the stage whilst you were at the piano singing "Always On My Mind" was a bit of a surprise - maybe you didn't even see it?!

Please thank the 'boys' in the Band, the Merchandise man and all crew - they did a really great job!
Looking forward to Dublin!

From the heart!

Chris R

Dear Chris!
Thank you for the great concert in Trier at June 16th. I`ve been listening to your music for over 20 years and I`ve been to many of your concerts in the eightys.
Now I´m 40 years old and ...sorry... didn´t listen to your music for a longer time. But my mothers gift for my birthday was the ticket for your concert. What a wonderfull surprise! I really felt, I missed your music....
You`re better than ever. You`re so real, so authentic and your songs come from the bottem of your heart. And you touch my/our heart(s) with your music!
It was my mothers first visit of one of your concerts, and also she doesn´t speak English, she feels the same. It´s amazing!
Thank you for your music and thank you for this wonderfull evening.
Deeply regards,
Christine

Hello there,
what a weekend: we stayed in Bavaria in Tüßlingen, and on Saturday around 3 pm we heard Chris´ soundcheck at Schloss Tüßlingen, just 1 km from our house where we relaxed in the garden under the beautiful sun :O) what a surprise! We went to see the concert from the outside of the wall, but it was soooo much fun, half the people of the little village were there, it was an amazing show! The Schloss was lightened up in various brilliant colours when it was already dark, it´s still thrilling just to think about it!
Yesterday I had tickets for Bonn and it was even more amazing to be part of it!! The mood on stage and in the audience was great, the sound was lovely, the voice thrilling, the show gorgeous! It´s nice to see Chris jumping off stage to visit the audience, to touch him and say HELLO - wow. T
hank you for two wonderful nights, I love the new album and the concert was sooooo lovely! You´re fantastic :O)
All the best

thank you very much for the wonderful concert in Bonn this night. I was there with one of my best friends. And we enjoyed it soo much.

Now I'm sitting in my reading corner, your voice in my ear, a glas of red wine and remembering this wonderful evening. The weather was great, the emotions high however in your concerts. You are always near by your audiencs. That's the reason why we love you.

Stay how you are!

I am looking forward to seeing and hearing you soon again.

Thank you very much for your wonderful concert in Trier yesterday evening! It was amazing, and today I have been singing your songs all the time.
I especially liked the song "Mirror of the soul". You also made me smile with the line "The man who died on the cross is the man for me".
Wonderful, amazing, great concert!
Thank you so much!

PS. Greetings and thanks again to Jason (this nice man from the merchandise sale) for his favour.

Hi Chris,

wow, what a FANTASTIC concert in Trier yesterday!!!! I've seen quite a few, but this one was outstanding, though for the first part my seat was bad and I hardly saw anything. We had such a lot of fun and thanks a lot for singing "The Same Sun", that was a lovely surprise. What a good decision to drive to Trier :-)
Take care and thank you and the band sooo much for this extraordinary evening,

Hello Chris,

TRIER.....It would be a very long entry if I did justice to last night's concert. So, all I will say is "WOW"!!

Going to Trier was an added bonus for me; unexpected change of flight and, boy, am I glad. :)

Loved hearing songs I hadn't heard 'live' before and I was very taken with Moonlight and Vodka. Absolutely wonderful and such good fun.

Thank you, and The Band, for an unforgettable evening.

Love, as always,

Here are some fresh impressions from an unforgettable concert "high on emotion" that took place minutes ago in Trier:
I discovered new songs that entered "under my skin" like Same Sun, Love of the Heart Divine or the Mirror of the Soul. Absolutely stupendous lyrics of high literary quality!
Nice, sophisticated, unpretentious, natural, moving, philosophical, brilliant, multilingual (many compliments and a special "spasibo" for "Moonlight and Vodka" from a Russian ;-), "multiplex" :), HUMANE: this is all Chris de Burgh!!! Thank you for your ART and the joy of life that you irradiate...
And many thanks to the wonderful musicians around Chris!!

Dear Chris,

What a fantastic concert in Trier tonight!

The 3 of us have just returned home and are still filled and surrounded by the rhythm of your wonderful songs and music from this most beautiful evening.

From "Making the perfect man, The same sun, Lady in red, High on emotion, The mirror of the soul" to your very exceptional performance of 'Borderline' - to name just a few - it was simply great ! And so was your band once again.

Thank you !

Dear Chris,

your concert in benediktbeuern really was perfect in any case. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, the band was perfect and most perfect of all were you. I've got a good seat in the third row and enjoyed each moment. By the way it was my twentieth concert of you. I've also been at your concert in Regensburg on 28 May and it was a very good concert too, but the one in benediktbeuern was a little bit better, maybe the beautiful scenery in the monestry was the reason.
I hope there will be many concerts to come in the future and I'm looking forward to see you on stage soon.
Thank you so much for writting such wonderful songs.

Dear Chris!

Thanks for the wonderful concert in Benediktbeuern. You’re a very good live singer and musician. But I really must admit, that I like your own songs much more, than you’re cover versions of other interpreters. Especially “Borderline” and “Don’t pay the ferryman” are my favorite songs.

I also liked the interview at the NDR Talkshow and your songs. You’re very congenial. :-)

Take care. Yours Brigitte

Hi Chris,
I know I am somewhat "behind" the schedule, but neverthelesss, THANKS a lot for the great concerts in Braunschweig and Leipzig; especially for the one in Leipzig, as your crew - and you, I suppose - only had HALF of the time to prepare for a concert than usual, due to the fact that a choir concert took place there in the morning or afternoon. More than good work!!! The concert was amazing; it also depends on where your seats are, sometimes, and I had very good seats at both of the venues.
It was fantastic, even more as I think I have been to concerts of yours quite frequently now - but, obviously, I still enjoy them, and it is no problem at all to "get into" the energy that comes from you and the band in the last part of the show, sheer bliss!
Go on like that, I love you, Sibylle

Dear Chris,
thank you very much for this lovely weekend in Castle Tüßling and in Kloster Benediktbeuern. You and your band were fantastic! And the mood under the sun was wonderful. I am recovered and it is wonderful to look at all the photos. They are really good. By the way, Benediktbeuern is a part of the college in Munich where I once had made my diplom in social work and it was interesting to see this part together with you and your band. As always, when I see the Alpen so near, I am reminded to some very nice wanderings in the mountains on my way and it was really a pleasure for me to see you performing there. What could I have wished me more than that our ways will cross on the long and winding road I've seen before?
I'm looking forward to see you in Bamberg again. It is a beautiful town too and if you have time, take a walk through the old streets and over the bridge to the Dome.
with love

Dear Chris,
I hope you can get short this message. I took me a bit time meanwhile to try to play your When Winter Comes on my piano until the end, but discovered that the worked out notes for piano to the end are not the same version as I hear it on the Road to Freedom CD from your piano. My teacher mixed the violine parts and the voice-parts in the melody at the end. Well, the first part of the melody over three sites of notes sounds very well now, but what should I do with the last two sites? "Help me if you can, I'm feeling down...!"
See you soon again

Hi Chris
I believe that "superfans" like myself are getting on your nerves, but just in case - IF you are thinking about a bit of a change on the current concert programme (hi Kenny :-)), "Corrina, Corrina" would be a very good choice for a change or an extra song in the "solo band part" as far as I'm concerned! I listened to it while at work today and think it is just brilliant!

Hi Chris,

We are just home from our long weekend in Freiburg where we also went to your concert.
After concerts in Manchester, London and Bochum we had another great evening again.
Your voice, your music, the band, the audience, the atmosphere, everything was fantastic.
And you made our day because we saw you walking along the terrace of the Franciskanerkeller and we called your name (cheeky) and you came over to us. We had a short chat about all the concerts we had been to and you said that we are crazy people, but you know that you are the reason. We were absolutely confused to see you so close to us (You took our breath away). We are very proud of the picture we let us take.
Sorry, we didn’t offer you a drink, but before we knew it you were gone.
Thank you so much for your music, which gives us a lot of energy and passion and is totally addictive.
We hope you can go on with your music for many, many years (or for ever more).
Enjoy your days off and we will see you in Bonn, Dublin, Amsterdam and Antwerp.
We are looking forward to it.

Many greetings from

Hi Chris,
the concert in Freiburg was fantastic, for me the best one so far! My sister who was with me for this show only also enjoyed it a lot, the music, the way you present the programme, the lightshow and of course your brilliant band. Again I have to say that "Africa" is absolutely amazing and I hope you will sing it many more times! It was also nice to have a few drinks with my friends afterwards in a bar where they played really good music - the "Quiet Revolution" album, definitely one of my my most loved ones by you.
Enjoy your time off touring.
