Hi Chris,

what an exciting start to the new Grand Prix season, and what a great win for Jenson Button. I hope that you got my F1 book in time for the start..you should have, although I guess you are sooo busy right now, I doubt you'll have much spare time to read it!!

Only 28 days now to the start of the UK tour :-)))))) It will be great to get away from 'normal life' for about 10 days................I really can't wait.

Till then,
love and hugs as ever,

Hi Chris and all Fans all over the world,

It's a big, huge inspiration for me, to listen to your music. It's a kind of travelling in another world. In a wonderland, where you create new colors of a beautiful picture of nature for example: waterfalls, gras areas, mountains and valleys. Your songs are messages, comfort, hope. The songs are a support to take away the grief and pain. What I'm trying to say is thank you deeply from my heart. You wrote a comment about the massacre of Winnenden and Wendlingen. It's only 20 kilometers away from my home. One day after this tragedy I've visited the school and put down a candle. At the moment I'm writing a song about it. The song is called "Tear Divine". The inspiration came from you. If anybody listen to my first song "Heal My Soul", click on the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfTAtRmX0j0 or write on www.youtube.com "Roman - Heal My Soul

Best wishes at all

Hi Chris,

You can be certain that I really loved seeing the three recent T.V. programes in which you took part here in the U.K.
Saturday Kitchen was much fun - especially with food flying round the studio!
Yours was the best bit on Ant and Dec!
I'm very 'fond' of Alan Titchmarsh and particularly enjoyed watching his show on Monday :-)
Good to see the 'boys' in the Band there with you too!

From the heart!

Hi Chris,

just want to say it was great to see you in the live TV show in Bremen, Germany on Friday night. It was soo interesting to see how a live show works. Whow all those cameras and other bits....most confusing!! It might have been even more interesting if i could have understood what the guests were all talking about!!!

Thanks for sparing the time to say a few words to us all and for my nice hug...:-)I really needed that, I honestly did .

For the Saturday and the Sunday Stewart and I spent most of the time sighseeing around Bremen, fistly with Claudia and then after she had driven home, just the 2 of us. On the Sunday we walked for nearly 3 hours, all through the old town and then by the river, where it was very very cold and windy indeed, and then back to the hotel and into the lovely park behind it.

It was funny to think that while we were still in Germany, you were in the UK on the 2 shows on Saturday.....and we had to wait until late Sunday evening to watch them!!But wait we did and I have to say it was great to see you on English TV again. The Saturday Kitchen show was excellent. I never even knew that programme existed !!

First thing Monday morning it was back to work and I walked into soo many problems, I even wished I had missed my flight back from Germany on Sunday evening;-)still of course, I got through the day and then got home to watch the Alan Titchmarsh show after supper. I must say you looked very smart on that show and it was great to see you sing'Without You' with your full band :-)))

Now it seems it is winter here again in the UK....cold and windy and wet :-(

Well its just over 4 weeks till the UK tour starts now :-))))))))))) I can't wait!!

Love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hello Chris, I loved Saturday Kitchen, not a programme I normally watch, however, it looked like a lot of fun and your sense of humour really shone.

I take my hat off to you, I couldn't have eaten beef and drunk red wine at that time in the morning although, as you said, "this is like your first kiss, you're just getting in to it and it is taken away". Hahahaha! Wonderful!

Also watched Ant + Dec. I definitely don't watch that programme, ever! Did last night though and loved seeing you but it was very brief. Mind you, I would want to keep it brief too.....sorry to any Ant + Dec fans.

I'm going on holiday today but I will record Alan Titchmarch and, hopefully you will get to talk more about Footsteps and the up-and-coming Tour.

Can't wait!!

Love, as always,
Jacqueline

Dear Chris,

also luckily not being personally involved in the desasters (or whatever to be told) of Winnenden, I would like to thank you for your words - Winnenden is not so very far away from Mannheim and I was really shocked last week while watching the news! I'll never understand how people can be able to do something like this.

Greetings from Mannheim, you're the best,

Hi Chris,

I dont know if you will see this but I am just watched Saturday Kitchen on BBC 1 and I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see a hugely successful pop star who is so down to earth.

So many so called 'celebs', let alone people like yourself who warrant the use of the word celebrity, are so up themselves and think themselves above everyone else. Whereas you seem like such a nice guy and act just like a 'normal' person.

It was a pleasure to see you on the program having a laugh with the guys and guests on the show.

I hope the new album goes well and i have to say I have never brought an album of yours but I will be buying the new one.

happy St. Patrick's day to you and your family. I am in Ireland today with my thoughts. I hope that the TV is showing a bit of the parades this year.

Dear Chris,

I would like to wish you a very Happy Namesday with the next poem that I wrote especially for you:

BLESSINGS

For a soul like sun so bright,
Heart surrounded by the light,
For a mind so brave and fair,
A special man, of no compare,
For a voice like tender breeze
That can dry away the tears...

These few words like magic spell
May fill out the space you dwell:

Wish you all the best there is,
May life bring you Love and Peace
That your inner-person needs;
May your Hopes and Dreams come true,
All the blessings come to you.

And believe me when I write:
For somebody You are the light.

Your fan forever,

Emese

Congratulations Christopher, 15th of March is your name day in Sweden. In Clayton-Lea´s biography and the MoTL we can read that you are Christopher Columbus´s namesake. With a man like him and St Christopher- the patron saint of travel safety - you are in good company. In our country the female correlate - Christina or Christine - is celebrated July 24th in what is called the Womanish Week. If Ireland has another day for celebrating Christopher you can have more than one day of celebration. Happy name day, Chris!
Greetings from Maj-Britt

Dear Chris,
thank you very much for your online message to the terrible event in Winnenden and Wendlingen. I think everyone who is parent or pupil at schools or works with children in Germany is deeply sad about it what happened at the moment. So it felt good to see some words from you after the last summer in this region with you to feel not so alone in this world.
If you want to write something online to the community there, I found this link for you where you can contact them:
http://www.kondolenzbuch-online.de/cgi-bin/2009/books/000172.pl
They offered a book for online condulences over TV last night.
What I want to say too is, that I was going to try to come out of this sad feeling today and what helped me a lot was listening to your One World and Dortmund CD. Sometimes it is so important to have other words in another language which make us free again from the pictures of violence.

Thank you very much for your help and
sympathy to the people in our country.
I hope that the terror in North Ireland about I get to know a bit will have an end soon. I don*t want to loose you as this good friend as you are.
with love
Monika

Hi Chris,

don´t know if you ever read this but i was sitting here playin your Ferryman-song on my guitar and read on some net news that you are planning to tour through Iran and play with a iranian group. I suddenly remembered that Plastic Bertrand toured first behind the iron curtain and remembered that song 'ca plane pour moi' which means something like 'this works for me'. And this works for me! Leave a sign of peace from all your fans. Great music, great lyrics, thank you!

just read your words about the shooting in Waiblingen and Wendlingen. Both towns are just a few kilometres from where I live. We were celebrating a colleagues birthday in our lunchbreak as we heard the news. What a shock! We couldn't believe it first, but it was true.
Such a tragedy makes our everyday problems seem like no problems at all. It's true, we can't imagine how those people feel who lost family members in such a horrible way.
Thank you very much for you sympathy.

Hello Chris, This winter has been long and cold, with snow crystals glistering in the dark night. Now it is nice to see the first signs of spring. We look forward to your concert in Birmingham. It will be the first time for me, Patrik to hear you live. Could you please sing Don´t Pay the Ferryman? I like it very much. To buy a much longed-for UK version of Footsteps feels perfect. To prepare the journey to your concert is a pleasure. To arrange and manage your events and concerts must be a huge machinery, working day and night. Compared to this our preparations are small. It will be so interesting for all three of us to visit Birmingham, the Canal City. Your music gives a lot of energy. It has been a comfort to listen to When Winter Comes and Always on My Mind, since we recently lost our Golden Retriever, a heart dog. He left a great void behind him when he died, but the whole family wanted a new dog so we bought a Golden Retriever-Border Collie, called Hiro. He is full of life.

Dear Mr. Chris De Burgh:
I live in Iran, where original copies of foreign albums were almost impossible to find for many years when I was a teenager, and I had to go through a lot of trouble to find your songs, but I loved them, and almost know all the lyrics by heart even now after all these years.
I have listened to your songs all my life and have loved them the most. Your songs, with the touching, beautiful and honest lyrics, and your warm and kind voice, were to be fair, my first speaking out! Through your words I first found a way to express myself, to say how I feel, what I think and what I want. I practically learned to talk through your song! For a long time I even used your exact sentences some times to say what I needed to say and God how well they fit!!!
So, I’m writing to you to say:
Thank you
Thank you for all the beautiful songs that helped me through some very tough years of my life.
I thank you with all my heart.
All the best,
Laleh Ahmadi

Dear Chris,
first of all I have to thank you for all magic moments with your music. The first LP I heard was the "best moves" album and I was enchained by your music. Tomorrow I will celebrate my 35th birthday and I still stuck on your music. I also listen to Metallica but for a real feeling and something for the heart you are the only one. :-) So I hope you will also stuck on your music and your way. I will see you in Schwetzingen in August and I wish that you will have some old songs in your baggage for us. Remember the old times also not only the one that gave you glory. Remember the "end of a perfect day" thats what I remember and what makes me sentimental. I wish you all the best health and all what you wish for yourself. I hope that I can drink a coffee when I will be in Ireland (like you anticipated in a TV show in the 80`s):-) CU in Schwetzingen. Take care Chris

I have been a long time fan (since CHOM introduced us to Spanish train) and to this day the most memorable concert I ever attended was your solo show at the Centaur Theatre in Old Montreal). I faithfully bought and enjoyed all your albums until "This side up" at which point life caught up to me and young children have a way of taking over and making you forget everything else. Last October I was driving from Montreal to Ithaca, New York to pick up my son at Cornell University, where he is a Physics PHD student (proud parent talking)and I put on "This side up" for the first time in years during the long solo six hour drive. The lyrics hit me like a ton of bricks and made me realize just how much I am still in love with my husband after 28 years. I wanted to thank you for reminding me of what's important in life. My second realization was how much I had missed listening to your music. I have caught up on your more recent CDs and I have not been disapointed. Keep up the good work and please come again to Montreal. I would love to take my 18 year old daughter to one of your concerts. She is a fan also. All the best to you and your family.

congratulation for winning the Diva award. I have heard that Phil Easton, a friend of yours has died, so I want to send you my condulation from Germany this way. I think I have heard him in the Christmas-interview last year and I want to tell you, that it had been a great joy for me to listen to the interviews of you both via computer in christmastime 2008 through Doris' website. So they made me very happy with this surprising interviews and for sure some more around this world. It is very sad to loose a good friend in such a young age as he had been.I am sure you will keep all the lovely moments you had with him in your mind.
See you soon again in Germany
Monika

Dear Chris,

I hope so much that you have got and read my letter, especially in view to my birthday in May and Münster just a few days afterwards.

Anyway, I have got some stuff of you from an Australian fan, including the concert in Volendam in 2001 and I was very happy when I heard you singing my all time favourite Beatles-song „Yesterday“ and also „Satin Green Shutters“. Regarding your collection of songs, this is one of my favourite. It made me happy to hear these songs because you have never sung them in a concert since I go to your concerts. Either you sing songs from your more recent albums or you have your "standards" from the oldies that you always sing (i.e. "Borderline"). I really like "Borderline", but the other really old ones don't find their way into your concerts anymore.
It would be great to hear such old „treasures“ of yours again. It was great to hear some like „Sailor“, „Leather on my shoes“ or „Oh my brave hearts“ last year. I am sorry to say that I couldn't pay my full attention to it as the disappointment from the impertinent security was too big, especially in my case.
If I am able to attend the concert this year, it would be great to hear more old treasures again like „Lonely Sky“ or „Don't Look Back“ or „Sight And Touch“ which you have never sung again the past years or others that you have never sung again all the past years. I can only speak for myself, but it would be interesting for me to listen to the way you sing these very old songs today.

Best wishes,
Monica
