Hi Chris,

Thank you for your greetings here to all you fans. Hope that you have a great time working on the Moonfleet project. The return of MOtL will be wonderful!

A colleague (who is not into music) heard "The Bells of Christmas" on the radio and loved it! Can you imagine me in the Nurses' Station in the middle of the night singing and dancing as she wanted to hear it again? LOL

Best wishes to you and your family for 2010 !

From the heart!

Hello Chris!

My name is Kostyantyn, and I am 19. I became a great fan of your music a couple of years ago. And as I'm really into attending concerts, I now have one of my biggest 'live music' dreams - seeing your performance in Kyiv. I really hope that there is a chance you will come here soon!

And please remember that not only women love your music! Thank you for expressing true feelings each normal man has possibly lived through :)

P.S. I have a tendence of not being a big fan of 'number one hits' of my favourite artists. 'Lady in Red' is the case, actually :) But still, I can't reject that it's one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. Thank you a lot once again!
And thank you for giving the rights to perform this song to the Turetsky Choir - they perform it really nice, too!

Dear Chris,
thank you very, very much for all the interviews to which I could listen even in Christmastime this year! So my lonely Christmas was not so lonely as I thought it would be. Could hear you, Sam called me with his family from Iran and at least on Sunday a friend of mine is comming for a visit in this sparing Christmastimes for the summer! Well, the snow to built a snowman later will come later in Germany this year perhaps. I hope you all enjoyed your Turkey and the bottles of wine, well now I am sure you did. Did you ever think about recording your most loved Christmas-carrols? We sang here a lot of the old Germany childrensongs and some churchsongs this year, unfortunately I have no English or Irish ones to learn to sing.
Looking forward now to the New Years celebrations.
Happy New Year for you all there Chris and family

Dear Chris and family and all of your fans,
we wish you all a very merry Xmas and a happy New Year.
We liked the advent calendar very much and it´s a little bit a pity, that it´s closed now. We made a bet for the last window - and my husband has won and now a wish free. Unfortunately we haven´t won a price, but congratulations to those who had the luck.
It was really nice to see the people whose names are well-known from the entries in the guestbook. We wish you all a good time and peaceful days.

Dear Chris!

"Jog along, little donkey to Bethlehem.
Oh, it`s a very long ride.
Jog along taking Mary to Bethlehem.
Joseph is walking by your side.
At the end there`s a stable as shelter,
plenty of hey, so you`ll be fed.
Save a bit for the babe who`ll be born tonight. Oh he will have no other bed."

That`s the song our daughter was singing for over a week now. She and her classmates from Junior Infants Delgany National School performed it in the Carol Service last monday evening.

We think of you when celebrating the coming of the newborn son.

May the blessing coming from the baby in the manger come upon you and upon all for whome you love and care.
May the bells of Christmas be ringing for you bringing peace and joy to your hearts. God`s blessing be upon all your projects in 2010.
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Kindest regards from Delgany

As wars rage in the world, "No Borderline" remains a world anthem for peace.

I am waiting for a train,
To take me to the border,
And my loved one far away,
I watched a bunch of soldiers heading for the war,
I could hardly even bear to see them go;

Rolling through the countryside,
Tears are in my eyes,
We're coming to the borderline,
I'm ready with my lies,
And in the early morning rain, I see her there,
And I know I'll have to say goodbye again; And it's breaking my heart, I know what I must do,
I hear my country call me, but I want to be with you,
I'm taking my side, one of us will lose,
Don't let go, I want to know,
That you will wait for me until the day,
There's no borderline, no borderline; Walking past the border guards,
Reaching for her hand,
Showing no emotion,
I want to break into a run,
But these are only boys, and I will never know,
How men can see the wisdom in a war... And it's breaking my heart, I know what I must do,
I hear my country call me, but I want to be with you,
I'm taking my side, one of us will lose,
Don't let go, I want to know,
That you will wait for me until the day,
There's no borderline, no borderline,
No borderline, no borderline...

Dear Chris,
only some nights before the Holy Night here in Germany, down in Bavaria. Now you know someone who is lonely this Christmas. Me. It is nobody here and noone will come on Christmas this year and I won*t go away from my home and enjoy beeing alone here for a while, thinking about all the humans I love and about the animals and about the birth of Jesus Christ like some children from California will do this this year as they said. Yesterday night I discovered a clip in youtube from a concert in Beirut of you where you performed "Brother John" and I must say I am really fascinated from the story in this lyric and how you performed it there and that you have been there and that such a concert had been possible there. How different to the German concerts and the lovely one in Dublin last year. Well as children we used to write such wishing-lists to the christchild before Christmas. Chris, perhaps I should try to wish me to hear some songs of you live in Germany, which I like so much. Just a thought, nevertheless in some days is Holy Night. And I wish you and for sure your family a Very Merry Christmas 2009.
love

Hi Chris,
Just dropping by to say a big hello from a very snowy Stansted airport, where Stewart and I are waiting for a flight to Germany, as we are spending the weekend with Andrea and visiting the Black Forest hopefully and also some Christmas Markets:-)It was a real big depression this morning as we woke to about 3 inches of snow and the drive to work was horrendous.....but at least on the way to the airport late this afternoon the main roads were all clear. Now we just have to wait to see how long our flight is delayed............hopefuly not too long as Andrea has to drive to pick us up from Karlsrule Baden airport.

It was sooo great to see you on UK TV and hear you on UK radio again this week :-))))

I wish you a wonderful holiday if you are going to Mauritius for Christmas.....me I'll be back at work again first thing on Monday morning !!

Love and hugs as ever,

Hi Chris,

today after coming back home from a few days of skiing, I had the chance to listen to the radio interviews I missed while being in Austria. It was lovely to hear you talking without an interpreter. Thanks a lot for doing those interviews and also the TV appearances in Germany and the UK (which I might see on the weekend?).
As I was driving on the motorway earlier this day, they played one of your songs in the radio. I had hoped for "The Bells Of Christmas", but it was "This Silent World".
Though a year ago it was even better, because we were at the recording of a TV show in Cologne. It was such a nice pre-Christmas trip :-) As was the one to Freiburg last week!

Take care, enjoy some gluhwein and have a happy Christmas,
love and hugs,
Andrea

Hello Chris,

I have a stressful event coming up and just listened to "Perfect Day." One of many in my De Burgh collection! Did a search on My Space and saw you have not been there in a year!

I had the pleasure of seeing you and meeting you some 25 years ago at a little club in New Haven Connecticut USA called "Toads Place." It was in back of the stage after your performance. Some dude was real intense saying how your music saved his life! Well I can believe that! You said "Thank you" with a look of awe on your face... Anyway shake that one around the memory banks!

Nice Christmas video and it's great to see you're still going at it! Come on back to My Space when you can. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Love, peace and respect,
Tom Kimbrough

We stayed at the Radisson St.Helens Hotel in Stillorgan and found time to drive along, to see Dublins surrounding area. We had a walk at Sugarloaf Mountain and met some wild ponies on our way up. The weather was sunny and so we had breathtaking views along the Wicklow National Park. We also had a nice dinner in an Indian Restaurant near the banks of River Liffey and we were impressed about the crowded alleys and places on a Friday evening. Dublin at Christmas time is really an event ( especially shopping with a 13years old girl at Penneys ).
Now we are back in Berlin and I just heard from a friend that you were here for a Charity Gala," Ein Herz für Kinder". I hope you enjoyed your stay in Berlin and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010. We look forward to see you on the Moonfleet tour in 2011 in Berlin.

Dear Chris,
every time that i listen to your perfect songs, i feel a great joy in my heart as i think i am looking the world with your eyes, i am hearing the sounds of life with your ears, and i believe i am crying for the same people, the same children and the same world.
And in this great city of noise , i have heard your voice, it was such a pure and easy voice that i had no choice only to listen and surrender to your world.
You remind me about the simple truth, you remind me that only love can light the mirror of the souls and you remind me to try to build a better world.
I am very bios on you and your songs and i have a full archive of your songs, even the single ones, I listen to them every day since they carry me to the places i've never been and to another time.
I adore all of your songs specially "the last time i cried".
I adore your dazzling performance and still regret not having one of those perfect concerts in iran.
I wish you a long, proud and happy life and i hope to see the world in peace and love again.
Merry christmas

Hi Chris
I sure am glad your concert here was not this last week! We had very strong winds and Kirstenbosch was such a perfect evening.
To Chris Williams, thanks for the great message site for Christmas wishes to CdeB. What a great idea! Bless all you fans this Christmas too!

Hi Chris,

oh dear, what another disaster for Liverpool FC this afternoon :-(((((

Anyhow, what i was really meaning to say was I have been wondering if you have heard the CD called 'Coming Home' by The Soldiers.......if not can I recommend that you buy it as it has some very powerful songs on it, especially the 2 that were written about soldiers coming/or not coming home from war. There is one real tear jerker on it called 'A Soldiers Christmas Letter'...it brings me to tears each time I listen to it. There are also a few very good cover songs on it as well, such as 'Tears In Heaven'. Sales of this CD will raise money for some of the forces charities, and goodness knows they need money right now.

I shall look forward to seeing you on TV tomorrow, when I get home from work :-) To think you will be in London and I will be at work in Essex, not a stones throw away, I shall be very SAD as I work. I might even try to catch a glimpse of the TV show at work, but know that as we are very very busy all day Mondays, I doubt I'll get the chance.............but I shall sure try and for sure I will be laughed at by my work colleagues....but that won't put me off !!

Love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hi all,
this is a general message for all fans of Chris de Burgh. Each year I notice many many 'Christmas Greetings' in this guestbook, and I would like to invite all those people to participate in my annual project which is a proper Christmas message booklet that I compile for Chris every year since about 10 years ago now. It would be nice to have some more messages for it this year and for you all it would be nice to know that your personal message is in a proper booklet that I send directly to Chris de Burgh himself and I know he enjoys reading it each year:-) So If you are interested and would like to participate please send your Christmas Greeting to CdeB to me at Chris@cdeb.com and I will add it to the 2009 Christmas Book.

Please don't worry about Chris reading this himself, as he sure knows about this annual book by now ;-)
I would like messages as soon as possible please, as I need to send it off within the next week.

Take care all,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hi Chris,
Just want to say that I had a great time in Germany on Wednesday/Thursday, spending time with my friends again and of course going to the recording of the Camen Nebel TV show where you were one of the guests:-) Gosh I had to get up at 04:30 on Wednesday to drive to Stansted airport for my early flight to Germany, and I must have been half asleep as I left my house as I forgot to take any UK money or any credit cards with me, so i could not even get a drink at the airport while I waited for my flight:-( Also didn’t even take my earphones so couldn’t listen to my ipod even. See the state I get into when I’m going to see
you ;-) Actually I have never done anything like that before, must have just been having a ‘CRAFT’ moment at that time !! Hope you can remember what I told you CRAFT stands for last year.... I think it was !!
It is always interesting to watch a TV show being produced but it still amazes me that we have to pay for a ticket to watch it, as here in England it’s free to sit in a TV studio in the audience. But of course The Carmen Nebel show was in a big arena place and not a TV studio.
I had a couple of lovely Gluewein drinks in the Freiburg Christmas market but no currywurst/bratwurst as I don’t like anything like that !! Well I like a good curry but absolutely hate any form of sausage.
Can’t believe I have to wait until August 2010 to see you singing again...that’s going to be an awful long long wait........................
Gosh when I arrived back at Stansted on Thursday evening my car windscreen was completely frozen over. I HATE winter. By the way for people who think you have to be rich to travel...my flight cost me £50 return !! I couldn't even buy a train ticket to vist my daughter who lives in Milton Keyenes for that price !!!
Anyhow thank you soo much for ‘everything’....................and the Christmas hug as well:-))
I wish you and the family a lovely holiday in Mauritius over the festive season.

Love and Hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hi Chris,

great that there are concerts also in 2010. That makes 1 1/2 years of waiting definitely more bearable!
Unfortunately, that is only the case for the fans living in the former East or counties more far away and for those who are rich. All the concerts are too far away for me (with a drive by train of more than 5 or 6 hours) and after just having bought tickets for 2011 it's impossible for me to buy another ticket now.
The nearest is Dillenburg, but I cannot buy a ticket before next year. So, I either have to take a seat far behind or have to hope for a concert closer to my hometown.

Regards,
Monica

Hi Chris

Today I have been listening to Chris de Burgh Gold, Foorsteps and Spark to Flame. You are amazing! Hope to have your whole collection soon but they do not seem to be ALL available! Your Advent Calendar is really something and so well done - thank you for this. Hope all is well with you. Are you at home now? Hope you get a lot of time with your family and that you have a peaceful time and no more floods. Ireland seems to be going through a rough time financially as well according to the Press releases here. Long to see you again!
Much love Sharon xxx

Dear Chris,
uh it is going to be very cold in Germany now and it is Advent. I'm enjoying to read the advent-calendar very much, though some words comming over from Canada are very strange again, but the stories remind me to a time, when I was sitting in Germany on my computer as I got this little thing and the time in 2005 comes up in my mind, beginning with the concert in Salem. I must say I am very happy that you will go there next year again and for sure I have bought me a concert-ticket for this day. So in my mind I just see the fields and hear the melody of When Winter Comes and remember how they sang there "Borderline" with you so full of emotion and the first photos from Kelly and Chris Williams rolling in here back home again, from at the other side of the world. It was a wonderful year. Unfortunately it is only saved in my mind, because I had no cam to this time.
Well no time to bore you with long letters in internet, but I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful advent-calendar in this month.
Good night
Monika
