dear chris
i grew up listening to you. my world view had a great impact from your music. we never had videos those days in india so wore headphones turn the lights off and see your music in my closed eyes. am not trying to be a poet but that's how it was.
chris, i know it's not insane to ask you to visit india. man that would be a dream come true. these days God has been rephrasing good old proverbs and the latest was - for dreams to come true..got to wake up. PLEASE PLEASE CONSIDER THIS REQUEST AND COME TO INDIA.
it will be an honour to be in your concert and that in india.
love & prayers...keep rocking...!!!
cheers!!!

love your music, sorry, I probably won't be able to get to any of the 2011 concerts. No money, just moved, lost a bunch of clients. Maybe next time in Canada, that's closer.
Would love to see you in the US.

Hi Chris,
How can I get in touch with your booking agent?
We are involved in a rhino conservation program in Uganda, called Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and are in the process of building a lodge with the aim of making the project self sustainable.
We would be honored if you could attend the opening of the lodge in April 2010 and do an 'unplugged session'.
In 1979 I 'slipped' out of my hostel in Cape Town to see you in concert in the Baxter Theatre - what a show! I then saw you again in Pretoria years later together with my wife. She did not see much due to people standing in front of her! Sorry we'll miss you in SA this year.
Please let me know.
Yours faithfully,
Johan Genade

Hi There
Does anybody out there know what has happened to the movie they were making in which Chris was recording the soundtrack for.
This was mentioned at the concert at the Pigalle Club early last year and Chris sang a couple of songs from it on the night.
Cheers

Hello Chris,
just to let you know. Though it is very empty in this room without the little dog your record "Far Beyond The Castle Walls" helps me a lot over the first time. This album can really help.

Dear Chris,
sad news to tell at the moment. My little dog from Tirol, which always loved your music and was so brave when I was short driving away for a night to your concerts and was so happy when I came back home after such a night, passed away a week ago. I can still see the animal at night packing with me your birthday-present. Perhaps you can imagine that I am very down at the moment. It was my best animal-friend! Saw just the article about your activities against breast-cancer and now I have seen with the veterinary how quick real cancer goes on. So I am very pleased that we humans have a fighter for more pre-cancer treatment with you and your family. I'm off for a while working further on the room here in this town.
Greetings

Hallo Chris,

Hi Chris,
well after nearly a week of computer watching practically 24/7 I think many fans are very happy with what we have all achieved for your 'Moonfleet Tour' in 2011. But gosh what a fiasco it all was :-(((( Refused credit cards for no reasons..lost front row seats...but in the end we MADE IT !!!!!! Now all we have to do is sit back and wait those long 18 months until the tour comes around...........gosh that is going to be like waiting a 'lifetime'
..........are you sure you cannot squeeze in say just a couple of concerts in 2010 ? .......you know just to keep us all going ;-) We'd all LOVE THAT :-))))))))
What a shame that LFC are not doing to well in anything at the moment :-(( I keep my fingers crossed for the match against Man U at the weekend, but it'll be a tough game for sure.
Hope you are having a nice rest right now, before your trip to South Africa in mid November.
Love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hi Chris, I emigrated to Greece, 3 years ago and there is not a lot I miss from the UK. But one of the things I do miss is being able to go to the theatre or to a concert, especially a Chris de Burgh concert. I was lucky enough to see you in Sheffield a few years ago and have followed your career since I first saw you on Parkinson, I think it was, singing Lady in Red. I visit your website as regularly as I can and follow news of new albums very closely. Is there any chance of you coming to Greece in the future, even if I have to travel to Athens? I have noticed from your tour schedules that most of your concerts are in Germany and northern Europe and not so many even in the UK now, only London and Birmingham are listed for this latest tour. Why is this? I don't get much chance to get back to the UK, especially this year with the recession. I'm sure you still have many fans in the UK and into the Med. Look forward to the new album, Moonfleet, when it comes on sale. Keep up the good work, best regards
Wendy xx

Hi Chris,
at first I wish you a very merry and happy birthday! I'm just remembering how it was last year to your 60th birthday here in Germany on this little place near Tübingen and this nice and emotional concert there. Well, meanwhile the inspiration of Dublin's doors around your concerts there reached my small home here inside of the kitchen. Finally the cupboards are in a wonderful deep dark red now. I hope you enjoyed the begin of the new year of your life and I wish you much much more happy years living in the world. Please Chris take good care for you in the new year too.
When I can manage to make a few days holidays in Ireland next year it would be fine to meet you anywhere again, if it is allowed from your family to meet you.
Greetings from Germany!

Happy Birthday Chris, the best singer and songwriter of all time. From randy Monks, perfect men, the devil and the Lord playing cards, setting the scene of a wedding, being in love forever, the trauma of war. I could go on and on, but suffice to say there is no other songwriter in the world who is so diversified in writing esquisite lyrics that evoke so many images in my mind. For the 34 years of enjoyment you have brought me amd millions around the world, I wish you a terrific Birthday. Just one thought could you write a Birthday song that encompassed everyone?
Regards, Kelvin.

Hej Chris,
Happy birthday, I hope you are having a very nice day and you are enjoying yourself.
I am amazed at your "Moonfleet Project" and I am very much looking forward to it. Starting my personal walking tracks in our nearby forest park, I am hoping for you for good weather so that you can walk in Ireland with good weather as well - the summer wasn´t so good - eh? Now the autumn is getting better - I´ve just started my walking again in our forest park and the first three walks were amazing. I hope it is the same for you, too. Nature is important - she gets us back were we belong.

Hi Chris,
Happy Birthday! We wish you a wonderful day with family and friends. Your press conference in Hamburg was very interesting. We have ordered the book Moonfleet and intend to go to a couple of Moonfleet concerts. They have high priority in our travelling agenda, but it is difficult to choose among all beautiful cities! Your parcel sent to the KTM address has probably arrived by now. The John Bauer illustrated book is a birthday gift. The Folke Bernadotte booklet made us think of Say Goodbye To It All, so we enclosed it. Birthday Greetings from your friends

if I could turn back the clock of life for you just a little bit, so
that you could have some more time for yourself, your family and your

Dear Chris,
the first interviewparts of your upcomming South Africa Tour are rolling in here via google. In one you said: "It's like going home for you", I thought so after I've heard you talking about Africa. I looked a bit for a flight to Cape Town, it is a very long flight and when I got the information that in Cape Town it is very dangerous when I'd walk alone especially at night, I decided it is better to fly not. It makes no sence to fly to a place where I would be shot down At the moment I am over renovation here and the old record "Far beyond these castlewalls" makes my evenings of work again.
Thank you Chris and good luck for comming home to Africa. I'll finally have to wait until I'll get a friend who travels with me so far away to see something more from the world or until I'll be ready to fly alone with no fear and danger.
love
Monika

Hi Chris,
I've watched the press conference on your website the day befofe yesterday. It was very interesting to hear about the new album and what has inspired you to call it „Moonfleet“. Maybe I'll read this book one day, too. At the moment I'm reading novels of Cecilia Ahern as they play in Ireland at places I still know well.
I was very happy to hear „Heart of Darkness“ after so many years. I've never heard it live and how you sing it today. But you've really fooled me, Chris. When you sang, I sang with you in my mind and automatically used the first lyrics. When the other lyrics came, I was confused and was out of the song immediately.
This song is always a favourite of mine – whether with the old or new lyrics. After having heard you singing it again, it was in my mind for the rest of the day put „Power of Ten“ in my stereo. I cannot wait for it to listen to it with your today's voice again on the new album.
I'm looking forward to the DVD now. I haven't been in Kiel, but it's the same tour and I guess that you also sang many old songs there like in Münster. So, I don't mind. I hope that the whole concert is put on the DVD and do not shorten it like on the other two DVD's. To have really the whole concert on DVD would be great for fans.
Your fan,
Monica

I just watched the video of the press conference in Hamburg about the new tour and CD "Moonfleet".
All I have to say is: Wow!!
I was sitting infront of my PC, singing along with "Discovery" and "The Grace of a Dancer" - two of my most favourite songs.
I visit Chris' concerts since 1984 and I have to say that I'm very much looking forward for this new CD and the songs that will be on it, beside the ones I already know.
I'm sure, another great album will be released!!

Hi Chris,
many thanks for your wonderful 2009 tour!
This year I´ve seen 4 of your concerts, which all had their own special moments. And though I have to admit, that I often dreamed to be one of the lucky ladies who get a little kiss from you: I´ve never expected that this will happen 30km from my home and 500 meters in the ground!!
I´ll never forget this!
The idea to present you with the helmet was a very spontaneous one, as you can read in the review section of your homepage (thanks to Astrid for putting it up).
I wish you all the best for your Moonfleet project ( I´m very curious yet)!

Hi Chris,
Well I hope you have finally arrived home safely yesterday after what I guess was a very exhausting tour and press release promotion in Hamburg for you. But whow what a tour :-))) For me it was quite hard trying to mix my working life with my ‘social’ life, but I of course managed it well, even though it was very tiring for me and of course my staff now think I am completely mad.......not that they did not think that before !! I have actually lost count of the amount of flights I have taken this year!!
I really enjoyed the last 2 weeks of the tour soo much as both weeks apart from 2 shows, were ‘girls only’ weeks, first in Amsterdam and then the final 4 shows of the tour back in Germany. Both Claudia and Andrea had planned so much sightseeing for us to do and I saw soo many interesting places such as The Burgh Zoo in Arnhem, The Wonderful Island of Ameland both in The Netherlands of course, and most impressive of all was the ‘Living History Museum which is all about ‘emigration’ in Bremerhaven, plus lots of other places as well.
The concert in Merkers was something that I will always remember with great memories, even though the journey was somewhat strange!! The venue was FANTASTIC, but what a shame that after several hours of queuing we found out that the first 5 rows were already reserved. The journey through the roads in the caves was scary but also exciting!!
Bremerhaven was a place I had never been to before and was a very nice place where I would like to visit again as there is soo much more to see................maybe you can plan another concert there so that we can all go back there again, to finish off the sightseeing we could not do this time round!!
It was very sad after that concert as Andrea and I realised that there would be no more concerts for us to go to on the Footsteps tour:-((( What a shame that I cannot afford to go to South Africa :-((
I have to admit to shedding a few tears as I heard you sing ‘Without You’ for the last time...did I ever mention that I love you singing that song?
Now I am back in England and back at work and already missing my friends in Germany. I really hope that there will be at least a few concert dates in 2010 as 18 months away is such a long long time to wait.....................but I’m sure the Moonfleet Tour will be well worth waiting for, and it sounds great:-))) I read the book years ago now, and I feel I have to go and hunt it out to read it all over again. It was a very interesting book.
Finally thank you for making the end of the tour ‘special’ for me :-)))) Hope to see you someplace sometime somewhere in the next year !!
Please make sure you take some well earned rest now, before you fly off to South Africa in November. You deserve it !!
Love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Dear Chris,
it is more than 20 years now that your music is in my life and in my mind every day.
First thing I had heard was "lady in red" and after that I started listening to the radio especially searching for your songs.
The older we get the more we start thinking about what happens around us and what the future might bring - and in your songs I hear most of the questions I'm asking myself sometimes.
Your music and lyrics are so full of feeling and sense - sometimes I can't help shivering when hearing special songs like "lebanese nights", "borderline", "where peaceful waters flow" or "there's a new star up in heaven tonight".
Hope we'll see you again in Koblenz, some time ?
Best wishes to you, your family and friends.

Dear Chris,
just away from all the concerts of this year at work I found the new outfit of your website. True tears about the upcomming lonely wintertime, but good memories to this year and a little sign in the press-conference over the internet for a new album like the Storyman album lets hope for another great concert year with you. So now it is time to work it out for a while. I wish you the best for your songwriting and creating music. The first parts I heard were as beautiful and deep in history and feeling as I know it from you and your music. If you can make it possible to be not hided for a whole year, then please do it and come back next year to Germany. You can make a short tour too.
I miss you, when you are not here!

Hi Chris,
I've just watched the press conference on the internet and a TV report on your "Moonfleet" project. It all sounds very exciting! It was great to listen to "Heart of Darkness" in the new version, I love that song and have not heard it sung live by you for ages. Dear Chris,
after a more than 600 kilometres drive yesterday it was nice to coming home again. Travelling around Germany and spending time with friends was great. But it's also exhausting. Doing lots of sightseeing was very interesting. Living far away from the sea I especially loved the waterfront in Kiel, a place I haven't been to before. Merkers was such a special place for a concert and wow, what a ride on the trucks down there to the actual venue. I loved it!!! My friends and I already planned to go back for a tour around the mine. Walking along the little lake in Bad Salzungen was really nice :-) And Bremerhaven at the end of the tour was soo interesting. Chris W and I did even more sightseeing as "Lucas-Travel" had planned. But who knows when I'll be up north again... So we squeezed in as much as possible.
I would like to thank you for the fantastic concerts during the last two weeks. You must have been really exhausted from all the travelling and work you had to do, but still the shows were full of energy. I can't believe it's just two weeks that I was in Kiel, seems to be ages ago...
Thank you for making me see quite a few places where I've never been to before.
Your "Moonfleet" project sounds very interesting and I am looking forward to getting to know more about it. Gosh, the tour dates are sooo far away...
Anyway, travel home safely, take care and thanks again for some lovely memories.
Love and hugs as always,
Andrea

They say you always remember songs throughout your life and that these will allow you to remember where you were and what you were doing. Chris your songs appear consistently in our lives over the last 30 years and even now our kids are saying the same thing, our 11 year old daughter thought In Our Country Churchyard at Bridgewater Hall this year was brilliant. For us from Crusader to Footsteps, keep them coming, cannot wait for more stories. PS We would love to see a live version of Head and the Heart again, a seemingly forgotten classic, that means so much.

Brillant performence yesterday in Bremerhaven!
If there will be an DVD from one of the concerts, please show the entire show!
With joy I saw there will be a new tour next year in the bigger concert halls!
Looking forward for that and the new CD!
Best wishes

Thank you for songs with such great stories and emotion. Borderline on "Live in Dublin" sung by the crowd still sends tingles down my spine, I could lidten to it over and over again.
