Dear Chris,
I should not do this at the moment, but
what a nice surprise this evening. The Carmen Nebel show again. I was so glad that you choosed to sing "The Long And Winding Road" there. It reminded me to the last summertour to you. I must say a big surprise too was to see Enya and River Dance and the daughter and granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and James Last and Blasido Domingo and Roland Kaiser and Adoro and this lovely Mozart Ballett and well, for sure Carmen Nebel who moderated the show excellent. It was a very good and interesting choice in music and Ballett. Big thank you for all for this surprise on TV on a Saturday evening here in Germany!
-with love-

Dear Chris,
I`m a great fan from you since 25 years and I wait for every new Album, because your songs are really wonderful. I have visited many of your concerts, but now I`m a bit disappointed because there is again no concert in Berlin during your tour in 2009. Why don´t you visit Berlin anymore? I´m sure that your fans are waiting for you!
So I hope you find a way to come to our city to please us with your Footsteps-Tour!

With best wishes for 2009,
Lisbeth

Hello Chris,

A follow up about the requestfor you to sing some of your 'old' songs at the next Concerts... Yes please - what a wonderful idea!

I would especially love to hear Broken Wings, Windy Night, Some Things Never Change... But not Brazil - I confess - I never liked it much - sorry!

As for the request by Alison not to sing Even Now ... It would be a pity for others to miss such a beautiful song. Should you choose to sing it (Please?) I promise to sit by her with a box of tissues and console her.

Very much looking forward to the Concert in Bundoran!

From the heart!

Chris R

This is a sort of follow on to Monika Maids message,

Please don't ever sing 'Even Now' If I am in the audience, It is a beautiful song, with so much emotion that it ALWAYS makes me cry !
And I wouldn't want to have my evening ruined. And everyone around me!

See you in Bundoran

Hi Chris,
well, I hope you read regulary in your guestbook. I read MOTL and found it very interesting this year. Thank you for the good writing work. Well, just to let you know, that I for sure like the new Footsteps Album and for sure I am looking very much forward to the concerts in spring in Germany. It is winter and I catched a cold but I hope I'll survive it until spring. Chris, could you fullfill me a wish? I would so much love to hear you singing some of the very old songs of your early records like "Tonight" or "New Moon" or "Brazil" or I think it was "Good Night" or "Windy Night". I loved them so much and it still lets me dream along to a time, when you had been the man in the record in the corner of a nice and simple little room and the world was in order in my life. Have you ever thought about performing one of these songs again in your concerts?
That would be great when you could fullfill me this wish. Or you play "Much more then this" or "Even Now"! There are lot of more old songs I would love to hear live from you in the next concerts. I like the new ones, the Storyman and Road To Freedom songs too and please make a good mixture this year when you come. Looking forward to hear you.
Greetings with love
Monika

Chris de Burgh,
You are a hero.
I have been raised on your music and so many of your songs resonate with me.
All young women my age are into pop, dance disco and once I show them your music - real music, I'm glad I could share that much.
Seperate Tables is one of my favourites, Just Another Poor Boy and Borderline give me goosebumps every time. I've sang A Spaceman for an audition for a musical and I got the part!
Your music is a huge part of who I am.
Thank you for the music.

I have been a fan for over 30 years, and do so wish you would tour central canada again, it has been since 1986 or 87 that you were in Regina, and the one night you were here, my girls were graduating from high school (we all would rather have been at your concert)
I am looking forward to your new CD (one of my girls lives in London now and I hope she can get me a UK version when it comes out)

I heard your songs for the first time a week ago, when my boyfriend played an ancient tape of Lady In Red and we danced...It was one of those perfect moments, and even in that time, your music has touched me deeply.

I know now that my bofriend came home from Africa after hearing your 'long way home' - and I'm trying to get us a ticket for one of your gigs.

Thank you for sharing your talent, your gift.

Dear Chris,

I’d like to say thank you for your new album footsteps. It is wonderful to hear how you combined old and new songs. The first and last song ‘footsteps’ is great and the intro on your website, too. And how you interpret the old songs like “Where are all the flowers gone” perfect!

My last life concert with you I saw with one of my best friends in Gymnich. The magic of the evening made me happy for a long time and put any weeks a smile on my face.
Now I am very looking forward to see and hear you again this year in Bonn.

Until then I wish you and your family a wonderful time with love and health.

See you in June,
Christiane

Thanks for your wonderful collection of songs on your new LP Footsteps. God bless you. You have certainly been a blessing to us. Musically yours, Tom.

Happy New Year Chris, I am a fine wine specialist in Denver, Colorado, USA and a former winemaker in Napa Valley. I really enjoyed your tour through the wine cellar at the hotel in your Road to Freedom DVD. I also have an extensive cellar like you mentioned and thought maybe we will share a glass of wine one day. Thank you very much for your four decades of music. My favorite song is still "the tower".

Dearest Chris,

I've just been sitting here reading through the archives of this sensational guestbook as I have some free time while I wait for the results to my next two photography exams.

I don't know about you Chris but I get so touched and emotional when I read the messages that your fans send you. I think it is such a warm, friendly and ever so loving way to broadcast just how much you play a part in our lives. I am very proud to be part of what I think is the finest fan club there is.

Thinking of you Chris.
Not long to go now before Bundoran.

Take care my friend

Andrew Stokes.

Hi Chris,

originally I had planned to send you greetings from my skiing vacation in Austria, but things didn't quite work out as planned. Already on the first day I had a bad fall and twisted my left knee. I am back at home, lying on the sofa a bit bored as I can't really walk and waiting for an appointment at the doctor this afternoon.
So the greetings are coming from Ludwigsburg instead of Serfaus (Austria) :-)) It's sunny here as well and we do have snow, but it's not quite the same as being on vacation...
Anyway, hopefully you are fine, take care and see you later this year.
Love and hugs,
Andrea

Hello Chris!
Thank you very much for your website New Years wishes. I just discovered them in this busy time in Bavaria, where you will be this year again. I am happy that you will come in May and June to Europe and there to Bavaria this year again. Maybe in May it is still a little bit spring-feeling with blowing trees, if there is not a suddenly snowfall as we had here in the past sometimes.
But, do not forget to wish your band-members and Jason a very good year from me too. I got my tickets before Christmas, so it was a really Christmas-surprise that we will see us so soon again!:) Concert-tickets under the christmastree, what could have been better to meet again?
with love

Hi Chris,
A Happy New Year ! I just listened again to "Ombra mai fu" which you mentioned in today´s MotL, and I have to agree, it is amazing - I love it. I also thought about another MotL reply a short time ago that was about travelling, and you mentioned Patagonia & Tierra del Fuego as a place you would love to visit one day. As I was there in 2005 and, having taken lots of beautiful pictures, I will compile a small album for you to enjoy and give it to you at one of this year´s concerts. (Again a book, but this time with pictures, not with numbers ;-) Trust your holiday far away was as lovely as ever and have an enjoyable flight home. Love, Sophia
