I first came here & left a comment on this page years ago when I was 14, now I’m 21…I started learning English with Chris music on that time….it made different changes in my life….becoming more interested in music & languages, knowing more about Chris De Burgh….how he sings for the peace & ….it all was a big change in my life….I went after languages & Music….& the type of light beautiful literature how was used by Chris in his lyrics….Chris have many fans here in Iran like everywhere, no need to say this cause it’s clear here too….I am touched by his music….many sweet things which happened to my life….I say started by Chris songs….always having this dream that; what if I could once be in one of his concerts & see him singing & playing ….in my country…..now it’s of my most exciting moments to see that he sang with the Iranian band Arian & ….we all thank him…we all love him….thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu….

Dear Chris
I am so glad I found you on the internet.

I cherish you ,adore you and love your songs not only because of their nice music but also for their deep and valuable themes.

I am writing to you to request you to dedicate a little time and speak to me as I am a poet, writing both English and Persian poems.

Could I have your personal e-mail.
Would you please sing my English songs.

Looking forward to receiving your prompt reply.

Best Regards

It is an exciting honor to host Christ de Burgh in Iran. We all hope you can have a concert here. If not, that would be a good idea to have it in Dubai, many, many of Iranians will come for you to Dubai.
We all have grown up with your songs, which still touch our hearts. Do sing "Lady in Red" live for your Iranian fans!

Best wishes, Hamed

Dear Chris,

I've been watching your performance with Arian band more than 30 times since last night that I found it! It makes me feel so happy and energetic... I'm so glad that you will be in Iran soon.

By the way, I'm a teacher of English and I used to teach in different language institutes in Tehran (now I live in New York); my students were mostly teenagers and almost all of them were your fans. I ended up copying some of your songs on a cassette to use as material for the class. We used to listen to your songs, read the lyrics, and discuss the vocabulary. They all absolutely loved this method and their "listening" score showed a dramatic increase compared to the time we had started.

Just wanted to let you know how your songs spread positive energy around the world!

Best,
Tina

Dear Chris,

Your song with Arian band is truly inspiring and touching. Peace on earth is what all we are looking for, and if we survive this critical moment in the history of our species, we will prove that we are in fact intelligent species!
Your efforts in peacemaking shall not be forgotten. Thank you again for caring so much about peace, and showing the real hidden side of the Iranian people to the west. They are also a victim of voilence and dictatorship.

You are truly an admirable person. Should you be an icon for the youth singers and peacemakers.

Best wishes,

Sam

So I am so happy and proud to have you in this world

Dear Chris de Burgh ,
Thanks so much for your kindness.
I listened to your common performance with the Arian band.
I also watched the music video with them.I was watching it all day long.
I ... I really loved it.
I cried when you sang a little sentence in Farsi. It was so emotional to me.I noticed that you were happy with them. You were smiling to them when they were singing and you were listeninig to their voices carefully. It means a lot to me that you agreed to sing with the Arian band.
You have always been such a great teacher to me , Chris de Burgh.
Fortunately I could find Mr.Rajabpour and talk to him about you and your concert in here.
He said that you will come.
I'm soooo glad.
I'm doing my final exams these days but I'm thinking of you all the time and imagining your concert in Iran.I can't be centralized for my exmas.
I hope you enjoy your traveling to Iran.I really wish, you come here.
Hope it's real and not only a dream. And I hope , Iran welcomes you warmly...
All my best wishes ,

-Sam :)

One day, back in 1995...
I had the surprise to meet Chris in a small pub, in Mougins (France), where he was drinking with friends.
I was playing the piano, some songs of the Beatles, Supertramp, and...
I suddenly saw he was in the bar, listening...
I thought It was a dream! He came, sat down at the piano, and he played and he sang... Some of his songs, but also Beatles',Elton John's...
These were marvellous instants....

So Chris if you read these words, I hope you remember! My friends took some photos, I sent them to you and one day you answered me....Fantastic!
Your letter and the photos are kept preciously...

Thank you very much!
Thanks to the webmaster for this marvellous Website!

Dear Chris

Some time ago I wrote to you in connection with my newly acquired karaoke song of yours - Patricia The Stripper (the album Best Moves has always been my favourite). Well, the upshot is that my regular karaoke friends both here and at my other home in Florida now associate this song with me so much that they think I'm ill if I don't sing it! People will very often go tell the person running the karaoke that they should MAKE me do it lol. My record for the most requests at the moment is 4 times in 3 diferent bars in one night! I need another song now and I am trying to get my local custom burn karaoke store to get me Satin Green Shutters and Country Churchyard. All the best for the future Chris. Keep up the good work and Keep On Rockin'.
Lots of love and thanks for Patricia.

Dear Chris,
long time I have no write to you but I don`t forget you. I hope you and your family feel well. I look forward to the concerts in summer with wonderful weather hot and sunshine also in the hearts. All good for you take care and until soon....
With love Heike

I look at you and introduces to me
how a sunrise smells,
how thousandfold the rain may differently smell,
like many smells the longing knows
and how many the liberty.
And I ask you:
How will you keep me in memory?

Dear Chris,
since around one week I'm holding "Now and Then" in my hands with your opening words and I want to write you something back, for it looked to me like a little letter.
It is true, the choice you made brings back some memories to wonderful concerts I could hear in Germany from you, some like Salem, Wülzburg, Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Chiemsee last year, where the sails were set beside the stage, Gymnich and some more. Different pictures to different places are comming up in my mind, to every song another picture! It is lovely to drive in the sun to this album with the yellow fields at the moment.
And what I really like is that you took "Much more than this" and "Suddenly Love" in this album, what is a very special memory for me, for you answered me one of my questions in your MOLT about it to my surprise some years ago. So this all was familiar to me.
What is new, is the duett "Two Sides To Every Story". It is not difficult to sing, I love this flirting fight in this song.
Perhaps you are thinking I'm dreaming, but it is not a dream and to have seen you had really been a great inspiration for me to try to write some songs. I have not much until now, but next week we will record another new one and I love to do this little work in music.
Thank you very much for your inspiration Chris. It lightens my days until we see us again.
For the journey to Iran I wish you all the best.

Well Chris I'd like to end this little answer to your CD-letter with some words, which could perhaps give a new song one day:

"With every little thing
I'm holding in my hands tonight
I feel it is you and you
And you by my side;

Every step you made
Every word you said
Everything you do
Could be a moment with you..."

still with love
Monika

Long time fan and, in Canada, it is often hard to find the latest releases - have to keep the collection up to date.

Looking forward to hearing of a date in my neighbourhood. I never missed a performance when you came to my area.

Dear Chris!
I would like to thank you for the song "Leningrag" and your respectful and sympathetic attitude to Russian history of that difficult period. Today is the Victory Day in Russia and your song acquires a special importance and meaning. I've sung it twice today in a duet with my 12-year-old son who extremely enjoys it too.

Thank you once more,

Take care,

Nelly
