MY DEAR CHRIS DE BURGH,
I'm one of your fans, one fan from thousands or millions of fans.as far as I'm concerned you have a great number of fans in Iran.I think it's a big success & ,of course,it's because of your creative mind, beautiful & meaningful songs.you know Iranians are really tasteful!you talk about every thing you want in your songs,& this is your great ability that make you so different from other singers.I don't mean others aren't good, but you are some thing else.in my view, you talk with each of your words. your songs bring us to a very deep thought, and it's a big characteristic that other singers don't have.another reason that I like your songs is that they aren't boring.I still listen to your first songs and your first albums, but as I said, they are not boring and yet they are so beautiful.I don't know how I can explain, but I should confess that there are some professional artists in your group who know how should be the best, and on the top of this group, there is a professional singer;my dear chris de burgh.
...be strong I learned to say,the words
I LOVE YOU

MY DEAR CHRIS DE BURGH,
a truly heartfelt & special love goes to my number one singer who I have my best moments with his beautiful songs.you know I don't believe that every one can sing,I think singing is a special ability that GOD offers to some of his (special)creatures.I know practice makes perfect, but the point is,this does not always work.for example, practice can change a person to a great athlete, but it can't help him become so very beautiful while he is not!!! I mean beauty is a gift from GOD,a singer's voice is the same.the capacity of your sound & the way you can low & raise your voice can be the reason of your success in singing,BUT ofcours,it is not the secret of your popularity.well, there are some other people who have the same ability, then have you ever thought why you are so popular here in Iran & all over the world,do you know why people ask you about the brand of your aftershave or eau de cologne!!why they wanna be like you?I think, that is because they can easily realize your differences.the words that come from very deep of your heart, the feeling you add to your lyrics, the things you DO care about in your songs like peace, freedom, humanity, justice,REAL love & many other valuable absences in todays world.these are the secret of my endless love to my number one lover & the secret of your popularity all over the world.
Nowadays that strippers & dancing groups try to hide their voice behind their dancing & sexy bodies,we are very lucky to have a Real singer & we(all your fans) owe you a great thanks.
at last on behalfe of all your Iranian fans I would like to welcome you & wish you have a wonderful trip in our country.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE,
mahsa

Hi Chris!
Thank you very much for a terrific concert in Aachen! To leave the lovely city was sad, but much work waited. The train connections of the airport were excellent, so in less than 12 hours we were back again. Everything was fine at home. The boys had taken good care of house and pets, giving our dog his medicines. Our daughter works in our agency team now.
I am very grateful for this last year! You see Chris, last autumn I read a book that mentioned William de Burgh and connected you two. Before this The Lady in Red was my favourite song. For many years it was a lifeline to your music. Reading this book made me find a composer that is a child prodigy but also a reliable family father. I like that very much. It was fantastic to visit your website, to read everything in the MOtL & the Guestbook. Clayton-Lea's Biography book is so interesting. Going to concerts and buying all your cd:s and dvd:s are absolutely highlights for me. The latest 'item†in the treasury is Much More Than This. The Aachen concert was the third we attended in nine months. All your songs are my favourites, but to hear you sing Always On My Mind was very special. You are always on your fans minds now, I think, when we look forward to future concerts. I wish you a nice rest though, before working anymore. But, waiting for 'next concert†always feels like 'Thousand and One Nightsâ€' Greetings from Maj-Britt

I'm still growing up with your songs and I'm really happy to know you at this time of my life. You know I'm only 16 years old and I know many different things of this hard life in this wonderful world.A few minutes ago while I was chatting with my boyfriend I realized that my life is just as same as his life or even same as all the people's lives in the world!Because we're all living in one world!
Yes,that's it.
Thank you Chris, thank you for everything you tought me.
love your songs.
Hope to see you in Iran.

Hello Chris,
I came savely back to Bavaria, where tomorrow the usual piano-lesson will start again. And I miss you, thinking where you could be at the moment. It is a lonely Sunday afternoon with rain when you*re gone. We had such a wonderful time with you this year on all these beautiful places here in Germany. The work beside the concert-nights was so well in the last month and I had been so happy about all this traveling to see you again. It was so fine to sing with you in all your concerts, though they sometimes had been with a little bit rain. Without you I*d never done such a long journey in summer and I hope that we can do such a journey together again. Maybe it is time to wait for a better weather for an open air concert now. It would be pretty cold at the moment. But if you have time to think a little bit about another next journey to Germany, think about Kloster Banz. It is a great concert-place in Frankonia. And you know that you are invited to come to the castle of Neuburg Donau next year, when you have not forgotten everything. The highways in Bavaria and in the near of Felden are pretty well to drive, though I was impressed from Weimar, Fulda, Schwetzingen and Hanau too and made a lot of photos from these beautiful towns. If you like to see some, step with your computer into my homepage and switch over to my little myspace site. I*ll upload some slideshows for you there.
Thank you for all the time you had for me this summer.
I still love you
Monika

Christy, I was at your last concert in Moscow. Beautiful and friendly, thanks. This is a way, where souls can fly together. Chris, dear, you must sing another song about Moscow. Not about of this "soul down" band. Moonlight and vodka it's a word of yesterday. I met a girls at karaoke bar and I invited them to drink some.... That girls said to me:"No! Only a losers drinking, we are clever girls." A new day? May be not "a espionage and a serious business" or a "a clever girls and a......" Wil be friends. Serge.

Dear Chris,
thank you very much for your beautiful concert in Aachen where I have been with my husband.
We must confess that we planned our holidays (our second honeymoon, just 5th anniversary, now 2 small children) according to your plannes and concerts. So we arranged everything in order to be at your concert in Aachen. We bought flights to Brussels, stayed there a week and between we traveled to Aachen, to see you. It was brilliant and we loved your concert very much! It was very nice to hear you singing on your own, playing the guitare, then with the boys from your band and finally with all Aachen orchester. Magnificant! We sang the songs with you! The atmosphere was very friendly, like in a family!
Coming back to our country we still keep talking about you, your songs and lending CDs, showing websites, reading lyrics, listening to your songs, looking at videos, pictures, singing your songs...., just spreading something very positive into the world. People around us (more and more people interested) are very touched and enthusiastic about your last albums, about your mission, about your unique. They are very sensitive and know listen to your music.
See you soon! Anywhere, but lovely to see you in Slovakia! Do you like the book: "55 the most beautiful cities (women) in Slovakia"? :)
With lots of love!
Maja and Pavol Calfa
PS: After the concert I met Astrid (Official Website Manager) and she told me that she had been looking for me in order to give me the opportunity to meet you together with other your funs. I missed meeting with you! Actually I was looking for her as well but we did not meet before. It has been a shame! BUT I hope to see you SOOOON!

I first seen yourself in a gig you done in 1975 at the city hall in Glasgow when you were supporting a band called Supertramp, and I thought you were brilliant. I followed you for a few years, bought your albums, and tried to get my mates to like you as well. then you brought out "lady in red" and the magic for me dissappered..... I don't know why.....but even now... everything before holds true even now.....I thought I would share that ty.

Hi Chris,
I'm still rapt away by your "real" unplugged and a-capella song in the basilcia of Kloster Eberbach. This was soooo stunning! The acoustics in the old church were great. And of course your voice was great. "I heard a voice, so pure and easy"...yes, I did!!
Thanks for this spontaneous performance and also thanks to the fan who did this request.

I attended a concert a few years back at Centenial Hall London Ontario. I was in the second row, left hand side, and alone. Two women came in and sat next to me, and one said to the other, "OH GOD! WE'RE SO CLOSE HE COULD SPIT ON US!" giggling of course... and my response to them was "GOOD LORD, I HOPE SO!" I also remember some creep reporter gave a crappy review on the song Natasha Dance! Sure wish I knew where he lived so I could go throw frogs at his door! That man had clearly never heard a CdeB song before and had NO taste in music! What was he doing there anyway?
Chris, you are my favourite artist, for all aspects of entertainment! (But not in that creepy-stalker kind of way :)
I wish you all the best in your life's endevours! And I look forward to hearing more amazing stories come from you!

Dear Chris,
I was burdened by massive health problems. But thanks to penicillin and pain killers I was able to go to the concert on Saturday. The melody of 'When Winter Comes' already made my day. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed your choice of songs, 'though I will never hum a Christmas song in September. This is how I am. I loved to hear 'The Road To Freedom' and 'The Words 'I Love You'' which both belong to my favourites from your 'The Road To Freedom' album. After having listened to 'The Same Sun' :) for several times live, I would like to stress that you have never ever sung this song so emotionally. It nearly brought tears into my eyes. (Fortunately it was quite dark in the basilica). Another highlight followed: 'It's Me'. ...for the road I'm travelling on. I need someone beside me forever, who? ...I'll never let you down... I very much liked the way you finished this song/your song, with the words 'It's Me'. Great. Of course I noticed that you had left out some words. :) Don't worry! 'Sailor' was powerful: ...sailor, can you hear me, sailor hear my call, sailor take me with you. Sailor take me home. You sang 'To feel the wind, to see the sky, to hear the waves breaking on the shore again, to be with you, to lie with you...' so emotionally! Simply breathtaking! How delighted I was about 'Here Is your Paradise'. :) And you did the last part of 'Transmisssion Ends' soooo strong! :) I would like to thank for 'Where Peaceful Waters Flow' - with a bit of 'Lady In Red' and 'Tender Hands'.
Who needs an orchestra and a band? Chris, you, your voice, a piano or a guitar - I don't need more. But I think it must be very hard to stand alone on stage, to be concentrated on the songs and the lyrics, to be watched every second by the audience for two hours. It must have been totally exhausting. Thank you so much for your unforgettable concert, and thanks for shaking my hand at the end of the show. It means so much to me, Gerlinde
P.S. Hope that you loved my flowers from my garden and from the nature (with a autumn's touch - with rose hip), 'though they remained on the piano after the concert. :(
And I would like to tell you that the glass of 'Riesling' which we were offered before the concert tasted delicious. Somehow it made a difference...

Dear Chris,
Kloster Eberbach: old Cathedral walls, candles in the darkness, the intimate atmosphere, the colours...
You said in/at(?) the basilica of Kloster Eberbach on Saturday, (and I could really see it in your eyes that you believed in your words) that it was A PLEASURE for you to do a concert at such a historical, beautiful place. (Unfortunately we had no time for sightseeing, because a friend of mine from old schooldays who lives in Flörsheim insisted on a short visit from us; also a traffic jam took more than an hour). And we must say that for my husband and me it was AN HONOUR to spend a special evening, an early birthday concert, with you. What an honour for us - indeed!!! My husband mentioned after the concert that that experience couldn't be surpassed!
Thank you so much, Gerlinde

FIRST, many THANKS and a big hug to all of your family friends who give their tickets back for the waiting fans (hoping for remaining tickets )outside. I come with nothing except my hope to find a way to join this special event. And at the end I get a ticket in the second row. I couldn't believe it as I read the row and place number. It was a dream that comes true. Now I know, it is better to try some things ones than never.
I can not express my real moods and feelings about this amazing night in the church.(not in english words).
For me it was breathtaking. Mainly "Songbird", gooseflesh.
Thank you and hoping to hear you next time....
Take care and God bless

Hello Dear Chris.
Just came home from Eltville, and what can I say. Words cannot express the atmosphere of this lovely concert, thank you so much. Have you seen the bats flying around at the ceiling during the encores? I think not, as you were looking to the audience and at your guitar. And I don't think it's blasphemy to talk about a kiss in a basilika - anyway it's common during weddings! At the end, when you had left and I looked around, everybody had a smile on their faces and all the eyes were shining.
Trust you will enjoy your birthday party there. At least I couldn't think of a better place.
A kiss through the web.

Dear Chris,
This morning I was sitting at your stage in Eltville.I went through the cathedral hall, sat down on the stairs and look at all the empty chairs infront of me. I hardly believe that I wasn't been able to catch a ticket for this beautiful event. I start whistling " Satin Green Shutters and Shadow of the montain" to hear the wonderfull acoustics and really it is amazing.I was badly cheated the last two weeks by such "international" internet Ticket Centers although I was ready to pay much more then the normal price.I wish I could be the little mouse in the dormitorium upstairs to hear your voice.
Maybe this site is not the right place to moan.
I wish you a great evening in Eltville.
I'll be there outside. And maybe you will do this for a second time.
Take care and God bless

Dear Chris,
Well Stewart and I have been home for 1 week now, and the Summer Tour now seems already a distant memory. We both had a great time 'living the dream' for about 2 ½ weeks, but that time went soo quickly :-(( Reality kicked back in last Tuesday when we both had to get up early and go back to work, less than 7 hrs after arriving home.
It was great to have a mixture of both band and orchestral concerts, and we really enjoyed them all. It would be too hard to say which one I enjoyed the most, but if I had to choose it would probably be Aachen, as all the seating was raised and we could look straight towards the stage, instead of always having to look up to it!! It was also nice to be able to see the whole orchestra as well!! Personally I really hate the 'high' stages, as most were on this tour, but of course I'm sure you have nothing to do with it. I feel that it stops the 'energy' being able to bounce 'off' the stage to the audience and back again to you.
It was a shame that the weather was not the best for the concerts, and for sure the coldest one was at Klingenthal.......god it was freezing that night:(( I'm reliably informed by friends that the weather in Germany is now lovely and hot......TYPICAL!!!!
This was the third year that I have actually driven in Germany and now I feel quite 'at home' driving on the wrong side of the road;-)) and in rental cars as well!!
My favourite song from the whole tour has to be...........'The Long And Winding Road' with the orchestra. I soo adore you singing this song:-)))) Also I loved 'The Shadow Of The Mountain' with you sitting on the steps singing it, and to hear 'Live for The Day' twice. That was a real treat.
We saw plenty of new places in Germany and I even drove on some very narrow roads across country when we drove from Leipzig to Klingenthal..............whow that was pretty scary and Klingenthal really was in the middle of nowhere!! Then driving from Klingenthal to Landshut we drove over the Czech border, and through the Czech Republic albeit for only about 10 minutes before entering Germany again. Of course all this travelling is down to you and your fantastic music.....and my 'philosophy' of 'Live For The Day' as you never know when 'your' time is up. Life is soo precious, we must enjoy every minute of it.
Now, I look forward to Saturday and the extra special concert in Kloster Eberbach, that I will be flying over for, and it will be a 'girls only' weekend:-))))
Love and hugs as ever,

Dear Chris,
thank you for the great concerts in Hanau and Aachen. My favorite was in Aachen because the atmosphere was nicer and the evening just beautiful. I still get goose bumps when I think about 'The long and winding road'... It is also one of my favorite songs (although it is not from you)and sounded so amazing with the orchestra.
After the show I met Nicole and some other girls from the fan club and we had a nice chat about you and the concerts we were at. I hope that you will come back to Germany for concerts and also to the north of the country. Hamburg is a nice city and we have the 'Stadtpark' for open air concerts too...
Please continue doing such fantastic music, I listen to it since 1982 and ever will!
