Dear Chris,

It's exactly one year ago since your concert in Chiemsee! You know, CHIEMSEE *grin, smile* ....

Just dropping by to wish you a very good and perfect start for your tour starting with the first concert on Tuesday! Are you already focused on the concerts?

Fuelling my eager and happy anticipation I'm already busy with packing my suitcase though my holiday will not start before next Saturday. We may need clothes for summer and winter because you never know what the weather will be like ;-) as we are well-experienced by now, and I will hunt for my raincoat but let's hope we can leave it wrapped up this time. I will look out for my field-glasses and clean them up because no matter in which row I'm gonna sit it's always still too far away ;-). And most important of all - the concert tickets are not to be left behind!

The excitement begins to gain form, dimension and colour and I'm counting the days and nights that follow one another in stately rhythm.

I hope you feel the same!
See you soon.

With love,
Yours,
Julia

Dear Chris, It has been a time since I have written here last. I just read Dimitra's retelling of her trip to Ireland (on Yahoo groups) and seeing you in concert in Bundoran and my mind was flooded with memories of a time when you and your music was the only thing that sustained me.(Normally people have God, but I was an atheist. Yet still, I was looking for comfort from somewhere.) I don't know how many times I played in my mind going to Ireland and seeing/meeting you... well... at Bargy Castle! Not as a stalker,! but (to be unabashedly transparent) as a teenager with an emotionally absent father, recognizing that missing emotional sensitivity in a man, namely you, which I had discovered through your words, music and voice. You filled a void at a time when I had nothing else. For that, I thank you. I thank you for your spirit and heart of love. I know you have 3 gillion people who express similar sentiments and it must be strange to know you've touched so many people in such a deep and profound way without ever having known them. We've personalized you through your music, yet we know you not. Not in a real sense. I'm not naive to this, yet, I still want to call you my own. As a song from a certain time indelibly makes an imprint on our memories and is forever associated with it, so I cannot erase the impression you've left on the timeline of my life.
Chris, I am a singer and it would be such a heartfelt dream of mine to sing with you! I enjoy singing the Kristyna Myles part of the duet on Raging Storm as it fits well with my voice. What I expect you to do about this, I don't know!:), but God knows the desires of my heart. I place this one before Him. Maybe someday our paths will cross...
Love to you,
Heather Bullock

Dear Chris,

I left Iran to Germany 23 years ago when I was only 11 years old. I used to listen to your "Revolution" album everyday. As I still do after al these years.
Upon hearing the songs of that album I remember the tough days I had as young boy in a foreign land; it also reminds me to be greatful of what life has offered me and who I have become.
Thank you for your lyrics.
I am grateful that you have acknowledged the LOVE of iranian fans to your music. I have reserved a flight to Tehran ready to fly to Iran for your concert.

Thank you for this precious gift, which I wouldn't have been able to treasure if it hadn't been for the hospitality, love and support of my dear friends, Annette and Stephan and little Siobahn. You are all shining like a millions suns in my heart of darkness right now. Thank you and God bless you!

Chris de Burgh live in Bundoran on 19/July/2008. What a night!! What a stage presence! I didn't realise it was a solo performance, but didn't he put on a full show! What energy that man has! And wit and soul! I'm still high after it! The audience was electric too, with a great sense of humour! A great night! A wish of mine I had when I was 15 (22 years ago oh-oh!) came true that night. When Chris sang Lady in Red and walked down the middle aisle of the audience I presented Chris with a red rose and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Unfortunately, my mind wasn't the only thing to go fuzzy - my camera did too! I'm wondering is there any small chance somebody out there might have got a photo of it? I've brown hair, wore a black cardigan, black jeans. Yours hopefully, Clodagh.

Hi Chris,
fine that they all had such a fine concert in Bundoran. I saw some photos from this nice place:))
It is still a bit learning here in Germany in this small town from which I wrote you and I am very much hoping you will find some minutes time to write me back. I think that is important before you finally will arrive in Germany.
I'm happy that I will see you again, Chris, soooo happy! The car gets the last check before the journey to you in concert and the dog some health-injections. Than only a bit to work and away to your concert this year again. "I cannot sleep tonight, I have you on my mind, even the wind is calling your name...." and I wanna see you one night more, wanna feel you one night more...
Juhu soon you will be here!:)))

Hi Chris,
what a BRILLIANT weekend we have just spent in Bundoran. Even the weather was good, as of course you will know, coz you were there too ;-)

We done soo much sighseeing over the 2 days and saw some lovely sights. Had a few 'scary' moments as I(we) was driving up the highest cliffs in Europe. The roads are soo narrow, and always at the narrowest point, a car from the other direction would come along and want to pass!!!!!!

Your concert was FANTASTIC. A whole 2 hrs 10 minutes of pure Chris de Burgh magic, and the finale with the 'party' songs made the evening perfect:) I really love this ending and I think everyone one in the tent was up on there feet at the end of the show:)

There was only one small problem, of course not to do with you;-).......but it was sooo cold in the tent, I was frozen for most of the evening!!

We drove to the Giants Causeway on the way home and it made a lovely end to a great weekend, as Stewart and I have never ever been there before.

Now I must dash off to work. Really looking forward to August now.

Love and hugs,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

I've read a host comments posted in this guest book and one thing is crystal clear. It doesn't matter what country or culture one is from when it comes the voice and musical genius of Chris De Burgh. To see other cultures respond to him and the songs he sings with the passion and fire they do tells me that one day perhaps all cultures will be at peace with one another.

Missing You
I've been missing you...

I've got the roses, I've got the wine,
With a little luck she will be here on time,
This is the place we used to go,
With romantic music and the lights down low,
And as you stand there amazed at the door,
And you're wondering what all this is for,
It's just a simple thing from me to you,
The lady that I adore, 'cos there's something,
That you should know, it's that

I've been missing you, more than words can say,
And that I've been thinking about it every day,
And the time we had just dancing nice and slow,
And I said now I've found you,
I'm never letting go;

There is no reason to the things that we do,
You can break a heart with just a word or two,
And take a lifetime to apologise,
When the one you love's in front of your eyes,
And I will fall to my knees like a fool,
If it's the only way of getting through,
You see if I think you are beautiful,
Someone else is going to feel it too,
So there's only one thing to do, tell you that

I've been missing you, more than words can say,
And that I've been thinking about it every day,
Well tonight's our night for dancing nice and slow,
Because now I've found you, I'm never letting go,
No, now I've found you, I'm never letting go;

I've been missing you... I've been missing you...
I've been missing you... I've been missing you, darling...

Hi Chris,

First of all, let me thank you for visiting although I could not make it to Iran to see you there. I enjoyed listening to your new Song with Arian group in www.YouTube.com. It is an outstanding Persian-English blend.

Chris, have you ever wondered why you are so popular in Iran? As you may know, there are not many other western singers who are that popular in Iran. Well, the reason that you are so popular in Iran is because: a) your songs have good lyrics; b) your songs are intellectual and yet romantic; and c) of course you have a great singing talent.

If you browse among other western singers, you hardly find any other singers who have all of the qualities. I guess that makes you unique in your way and Iranian youngsters connect with you and your songs.

Lastly, I would like to thank you for who you are and what you offer to the world.

God bless you

I first heard Chris de Burgh when I was 14 years old on my portable radio, late at night.For years his voice has haunted me. I am soon to be 40 and asked my husband to find me Don't Pay the Ferryman for my birthday. After, 26 years I am connected to the voice that so inspired me years ago. I am currently writing a paper on this song as one of my final papers to graduate college. I will be playing the song and discussing it in class and I hope to inspire others to this magical storyteller. I believe in destiny and to be able to write about what this song meant to me over the years means alot to me. Thanks

I grew up with your songs from a teenager to a woman! I listened to your songs when I fell in love, when I was alone and when I celebrated my wedding day!When I was happy and when I was sad! I know your songs are always going to lift my heart!! Love your heavenly voice.Thanks for just being so pure and thanks for being you!

Hi Chris,
another tough week is over, but your summer tour and my vacation are coming closer. In just four weeks we'll be in Fulda listening to your songs live!
Let's hope the weather is better as it is right now, because it's raining outside. Just like last year in Regensburg, though it's not as cold as is was back then. Still it was great in Regensburg.
Maybe we are lucky like we were last Saturday as Joan Baez gave an open air concert here in Stuttgart and it was a perfect summer evening.
Enjoy your concert in Ireland next week, take care and see you in August,
Andrea

REGENSBURG, Thurn und Taxis Schloss. 10/07/2007.

Dear Chris,

Fancy, it's exactly one year ago since your concert in Regensburg, Thurn und Taxis Schloss! The first of the three concerts I was happy to join last year. 1 year is such a long time.... But here we are, stronger than yesterday. And just like spring follows after winter the world always keeps turning round and the road never just stops. A complete year lies behind us like a river searching its way through the valley.

Only one month more to go till August 10th, Schwetzingen. I am extremely looking forward to seeing you again after such a long space of time and I'm getting myself in the proper mood for it!

I hope all is well with you and yours. I love you so much.

Good luck with the last preparations for this tour, much inspiration and of course lots of pleasure in what you are doing! :)

See you soon !!! Sending you a hug ...
Yours,

Julia

It`s so important.
With company of a polnish man, I `m

I`m not a millionear, but this event
is one of the things, I love.
Privatly, I teach classical guitar and

Dear Chris,
Im just coming home from my first live opera in my life, the romantic German "Freischuetz", and it was a pleasant evening in the courtyard of our beautiful Renaissance castle in Aschaffenburg.
Though I must say that the Leading Lady indeed somehow sounded like a strangled cat, and each time she started to sing, it started to rain. And I was thinking to myself: now I know why those opera ladies are not quite popular in Ireland.

I wish you a good start of your tour summer in two weeks in your homecountry, Im sure the sun will be shining :-)
Love,
Sophia

Sailing Away
Waiting at the water's edge,
Watching all the ships as they are heading for the harbour wall,
I was just a boy, I was just a boy,
Dreaming of the wide world, dreaming of the wide world;

Watching as they disappear,
Reading out the names of all the places I have never been,
Looking out to sea, staring out to sea,
Dreaming of a wide world, dreaming of the wide world;

I wish I was sailing away, sailing away,
Sailing away, with you tonight, with you tonight;

Walking down another street,
Underneath the red lights, I am watching where the shadows fall,
Looking at the girls, listening to the girls,
Dreaming of a new world, dreaming of that new world;

I wish I was sailing away, sailing away,
Sailing away, in your arms tonight,
In your arms tonight;

I wish I was sailing away, sailing away,
Sailing away, with you now, with you now...

Dear Chris,
the last weeks I was lonely stroking through the town Neuburg/Donau. There is an old castle with an interesting historical yard. It is a place for concerts in summer and the castle-administration told me that you would be very welcome to give a concert there in the next summer.
with love
