I found you when I was 19 and I never let you go (outside from my heart).

I always carry you in my heart when I'm in the lonely nights.

I've heard about your arrival in next month to Iran. It doesn't matter you can or can't perform a concert in Iran. Only thing that matters is We (Iranian's fans) love you forever.

Best Regards,

Hi Chris,
Some years ago when I was back home I translated a book that blew out the market. People were running for it and I personally have not seen a hit book in Iran to sell as fast as that book. The book was called Chris De Burigh's Lyrics. It was such dream for me to be connected t a name I loved for years and started to understand English with. So, I have to thank you for that. The book being published in a dodgy place like my country did not give me no financial help although I was in need of money quite desperately, but gave me a fantastic support and back up by so many people I did not know at all. Not only that, you wrote me back a reply to say that you never knew your lyircs were traslated in Iran and Iran had been a dream country for you to give concert in. Well, it seems that dream is coming true and you will be going there to see the enthusiasts who have been cut off the entire world just because they are 'IRANIAN'. I wish I could be there. Good luck.

I just read an article in BBC-Persian that Chris is planing to have a concert in Iran:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/persian/arts/story/2008/04/080427_wkf-mm-singer-iran.shtml

I don't think that Chris has ever had a concert in Iran but I am sure that, should he succeed in this mission, that would be our honor to host Chris in homeland, Iran.

Don't Pay The Ferryman
It was late at night on the open road,
Speeding like a man on the run,
A lifetime spent preparing for the journey;

He is closer now and the search is on,
Reading from a map in the mind,
Yes there's the ragged hill,
And there's the boat on the river.
And when the rain came down,
He heard a wild dog howl,
There were voices in the night - "Don't do it!"
Voices out of sight - "Don't do it!
Too many men have failed before,
Whatever you do,

Don't pay the ferryman,
Don't even fix a price,
Don't pay the ferryman,
Until he gets you to the other side;"
In the rolling mist, then he gets on board,
Now there'll be no turning back,
Beware that hooded old man at the rudder,
And then the lightning flashed, and the thunder roared,
And people calling out his name,
And dancing bones that jabbered and a-moaned
On the water.
And then the ferryman said,
"There is trouble ahead,
So you must pay me now," - "Don't do it!"
"You must pay me now," - "Don't do it!"
And still that voice came from beyond,
"Whatever you do,

Don't pay the ferryman,
Don't even fix a price,
Don't pay the ferryman,
Until he gets you to the other side;

Don't pay - the ferryman!"

There are those who think that love comes with a lifetime guarantee,
But we know from those around us, that this may not always be,
It’s the simple things that come between a father and a son,
But when they try to talk, the knives are out before they have begun;

Well that was me, and I have seen the light that shines for eternity,
Because I learned to say the words “I love you;”

So many hearts have been broken by the lies of history,
And so many arms are still open for that final mystery;
We must show respect for all the rest, and what a man believes,
And the one who died upon the cross, well he is the one for me,
And he said “Come with me and you will see the light that shines
For eternity, be strong and learn to say the words “I love you;”

And this endless road that we are on just keeps on going round,
But there’s one destination that always is here to be found;

So come with me, and you will see the light that shines for eternity,
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you,”
Be strong and learn to say the words “I love you,” the words “I love you,”
The words “I love you,” the words “I love you.”

Hi Chris,

What a treat to see you on television in the U.K. this week to promote your latest album "Now And Then".

The 'Loose Women' show was especially good fun! Lovely to hear such a beautiful live rendition of TLIR, particularly after your 'treatment' of the song during Concerts recently! ;-)

Btw I love "Live For The Day" - it's is so catchy it won't leave my head!

From the heart!

Dear Chris,
what a wonderful evening today. I *m just watching this new interview, while I actually can feel how much differences are in this town to all the strange people from time to time. We are working with children from different nation, who all live in this town together and sometimes get in touch for playing in the afternoon in a small room for sliding and other things. Sometimes I had met french, australian, turkish, italian, chinese, japanese, spanish, swizz children and their parents and mostly the time we had was very good together. So I live in a town where all this is reality to live together in one world and I am so happy that you made this song for the whole world. I think it is a beginning dream to live together without great differences between nations, maybe a hope of us all , when we have to look to all the wars around for years and could not understand why humans use such weapons against each other in a time where are so much catastrophies in the world.
Just wanted to say thank you for this very good interview to listen.
And I still remember this time, when you had been in Ingolstadt on your Road to Freedom Tour singing "Live Of a Child" live here and I was very touched by this song, not to forget your explanations about "Lebanes Night" and performing it live here in this town. When will you come to visit this town, where I *m actually living again? I would be very happy about it.
Hate, about you talked in this interview was shortly a great topic in this town so sometimes I feel a bit lonely in my fights for a better understanding here, but we are continually fighting for peace and understanding.
with love
Monika

Hi Chris,
its been nice to see you on UK TV
3 times this week :-) I needed that ;-)

I guess your prediction on Sky News yesterday, of 2 Liverpool goals last night, came very true, but like you know, unfortunately, one of those goals was in the wrong goal area :-( Now Liverpool have a massive 'game' on their hands, or should I say feet ;-)
next week. Lets hope they can 'pull it off'.

Hope all is well with you and the family.

Hi Chris!

I am glad that you're coming to Iran. We iranian love music, love you and your songs. I hope your concert and your presence in Iran gives a signal to our politicians that an obvious right of listening to the music is taken from us during last 30 years. You have said that you just do music and not politics. That's the right thing, but there are mean and unintelligent people who have power in Iran and don't understand the power of beauty and of music. Show them that you do your music and they have to obey the music and the will of people. I hope your presence in Iran is going to be a symbol of light, beauty and democracy against darkness, cruelty and religious fascism.

Thanks
Farhad/Tehran

I was at the concert in Aarhus along with my brother, who lives there. We´ve been fans of Chris´ since 1986 (I´m 38, and he´s 40), when I buyed a 5-lp box set, and we wore it out in just about two years. My brother went to a Chris-concert - also in Aarhus - in 1989, and I was devastated not to be able to join him. But this time we went together, finally! And we were very excited both of us. We had foretold, that it would not be a full house, and it wasn´t. We were also quite sure that the audience would be people our age and older, and indeed most people seemed to be aged from 40 and up. My brother had not heard The Storyman more than once or twice, so he didn´t know the new songs, but he was very impressed afterwards ("What did he say that one was called - was it The Grace of a - - dancer or what?"). So was I - One World, My Father´s Eyes and Spirit in particular were incredibly well played.
We found Chris to be very relaxed and personal, sort of humble, actually - he seemed very thankful that people had come to see and listen to him. We also found him very entertaining, very funny, especially with the Britney-thing, which made us laugh hysterically (my brother used to be a Britney-fan). The selection of songs were wonderful. When he did the acoustic version of The lady In red we were surprised, and we were thrilled and delighted to se Chris walk among the audience. He passed right by us on the right side of the hall, and it was magic! Afterwards I said to my brother: "We could actually have reached out and touch him". My brother said "I don´t know what I would have done, if he had sat himself next to me."
We were surprised how well the electric set was played, and we both agreed that the music benefited from the fact, that they played the songs from the present band´s perspective, and not trying to imitate the sound of the original recordings the way you hear it on Live from Dublin. The band was extremely tight and professional, and I was particularly impressed with Missing You (incredible guitar at the end)Living in The World and Bal Masque - the last two are really songs none of us have noticed for real before. We also agreed that the drummer was completely incredible - he played like thunder, with a precision like a machine. Chris played just about everything I wanted to hear - my bro would have liked The Revolution instead of The Leader-Vision-What About Me, and I would have liked to hear The Mirror of The Soul, but then you can´t have everything. When Chris went about shaking hands and giving hugs at the end of the show, we agreed that that was one really cool move, and it confirmed to us, that Chris loves his audience - he is close and he is personal. We were also very impressed with the length of the concert - 2 hours and 15 minutes. Not many musicians at his age plays for so long or indeed so well. Chris´ voice was also remarkable. For one thing he sings better now that he has ever done, and his voice did not lose anything of its power, clear pitch or intensity in the live situation, and it did not wear out at all during the show (-you may want to compare this with Freddie Mercury, who was an incredible singer, but he was never nearly as good live as he was in the studio). Impressive, since Chris´ way of singing his songs is very demanding for other singers (-I know it for a fact: I´m a singer...!).
We got our money´s worth - and much more! It was without question the best concert I have ever attended, and since Chris is my favourite musician, it could not possibly have been a better evening (except if one got a chance to hang out with the Man himself...!). We were in high spirits when the show ended, and we went to my brothers house and spent most of the night discussing the concert and drinking beer. A thrilling experience to finally se our personal legendary hero.

Hello Chris, hello everybody !!!

On May 15, I'll be back in Dublin...
Now my story: I've been listing to Chris's Music since 1980...my first Concert was a CdB Concer..1982 in Stuttgart Germany....
In 1991 me an my Girlfriend and some other guys have made a Ireland-vacation. I can't remember how...but we've found the home of CdB in Dalky.
We know from a German TV-Doku that he lives nearby a Church..rebuid to a house...so we ring the bell, and his wive said, that he is at the racetrack...so we shoul wait a couple of minutes..he's on the way home...so we wait..an suddenly he came just around the courner..with his little daughter...(as we know..now miss world)...in 1991..I think 5 years old...so we talk for a while...make one picture..and we were happy..
Now...17 years later we will visit you/him again...but I can't remember the street where he lives.....anybody knows that ???

Thank you very much....

Hi Chris,

just wanted to say "thank you" for the concerts in Denmark. It was great to see and listen to you again.

Hopefully you had a safe journey back home like we did.

Take care and see you again later this year.

Thank You Chris and Band,
The concert Wednesday night was wonderful! To stay at Hotel Hamlet in Helsingør and cross Øresund with the ferry named like the “sweet prince” was a nice coincidence. The Kronborg Castle´s Royal Apartments and the Chapel were interesting. After the dark trip underground in the Casemates it felt nice to take the train to Hillerød and step inside. How welcoming it was for Lars and me to hear your sound check through the doors! The concert itself was splendid and we will carry this night “like a fire…” Your concerts mean so much. They participate in the alert lifestyle we prefer.

Hello Chris.
Thank you very much for a fantastic concert in Århus, Denmark yesterday!
I have been a fan for many years and had brought my two daughters aged 12 and 15 as a surprise for them. About a year ago I introduced them to some of your old songs and they immediately were thrilled. The 15-year-old - like myself - is deeply fascinated by the stories you tell and she thinks a lot about the lyrics and contents. The 12-year-old expecially loves "Don't pay the ferryman" - she chose that song for an English project in school.
At the end of the concert they were lucky to get a hug from you and to see them so happy and excited brought tears to my eyes, I must admit.
Right now I can hear "Don't pay the ferryman" playing in one room and "The grace of a dancer" in the other. I'll go to the livingroom and listen to "A spaceman came travelling" - my absolute all time favourite!
Again, thank you for an amazing concert and thank you for making the music you do!
Best regards,
Birgitte

Hi Chris!

The concert yesterday in Esbjerg really inspired me. Strong melodies, nice lyrics and comedy :)

It was an honour to interview you and I hope you will keep on writing for many years. You are a great artist and performer. I love experienced singers teaching the pop-artists of today how to deliver songs in the perfect way. Many of the top-selling artists of today (Timberlake, Robbie Williams, Britney etc.) should go to your concerts and take notes! I often hear the words "I will go to see a concert" - and that is indeed the problem. The focus has been moved from the melodies to the visual performances. I go to concerts to LISTEN!

Once again.. thanks for the interview and a great experience.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark.
Walk on, through the wind,
Walk on, through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,

I have just sent a note to your contact person on the website as I was again disappointed to see that you are, yet again, only visiting Zürich (CH) area this year for your European tour...;o( You have not been to the Swiss-French part since your INCREDIBLE solo concert in Lausanne back in the summer 2004....most artists overlook the Swiss French area but we are the best part of Switzerland ! Have you thought to play once at Montreux Jazz ? Hello Chris,
I would like to wish you a good time in Denmark with your concerts next week, I guess there will also be quite a lot of Norwegians around - as they don´t have to travel so far ;-)
Looking much forward to seeing you back in Germany in summer. My own journey to Asia starts May 1st, and I hope the mailing list people don´t mind if I post some short travel notes on this one - anyway much better than hitting around myself and thus hitting also people whom I like much.
Enjoy your time, and thanks also for your recent MotL replies.
Love,
Sophia

Dear Chris,
I have just found out that I have a big disease.
But I will remain optimistic because I know that with your music and songs like "The Ballad of Thunder Gulch" and "If Beds Could Talk" and "The Seduction of Lady Jane Seymour", I can make it through this hard time in my life.
Thanks for all your music, it means a lot to me =)
I'm thinking of building a shrine to you so that I can see your face most days too, while I listen to your music!!
Thanks Chris, much love

Dearest Singer Chris,

You move me a great deal. I was watching Star Academy on the LBC today and I was
thrilled to hear you. Your voice, songs, music are phenomenal, but the greatest thing about you is what you represent as a person. I love what you represent and you will always have a great spot in my heart.

All the best,
Hana A.

O' Chris, with your eyes so bright,
How I love you with all my might,
I listen to you in the day,
I listen to you all the night,
And all the while I think of you,
Even when I'm in the loo,
And when I'm feeling rather down,
I put on ferryman and dance around,
Your eyebrows are like two bridges,
I'd like to walk across,
You're my main man, Chris,
You're my boss.

I was ill so I wrote you a lovely poem.
Love from Meg xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
