Kingston upon Hull,East Yorkshire - United Kingdom 2007/08/28 - 20:30 Dear Chris, just over one week before we get away to your beautiful neck of the woods for our holiday, we've a list of places to visit which will be lovely after living in a demolition zone for the last few weeks, hopefully renovation on our home will be starting very soon, however, my heart goes out to all the people in Greece following the devastating fires which have ruined so many lives, our problems pale into insignificance compared. Counting down to November, that's the next thing to look forward to, love always, Pauline, The Yorkshire Rose XX

Taipei - Taiwan 2007/08/28 - 17:35 Dear Chris, My friend introduced me to your music when I was a college freshman majored in English. Without hesitation I chose to use Chris as my English name. That was 24 years ago back in 1983. Ever since then your music has been my greatest consolence, especially in my times of hardship when I thought I could go on no more. It must have been more than ten years when you came to Taiwan for a concert. Of course I didn't miss it. It was a once-in- a-lifetime chance. I sometimes feel identical with your feelings you put in your songs, as if deep down in our souls we are the same kind of beings. With hard work and practice I even managed to learn to play several of your songs on the guitar, such as Old-fashioned People, Something Else Again, Broken Wings, Perfect Day, The Girl with April in Her Eyes, etc,. Nowadays, here in Taiwan, your songs have never been played on media anymore, and people of younger generations know nothing about you. Yet, in the hearts of your fans like me, you will always be on our minds till the end of time. Since you cannot come to Taiwan again, I'll have to comfort myself by singing your songs to my ovation. Thanks for everything!!!!!

Athens - Greece 2007/08/28 - 13:36 And I saw a burning chariot And the four horsemen of the apocalypse Waiting on high And I saw the fire from the sky I saw fire, and I saw paradise Fire from the sun, I saw fire And I saw Alpha and Omega THE VISION – CHRIS DE BURGH Fire, I saw fire, And I saw paradise LOST IN THE FIRE Fire, I saw fire Visions of the Apocalypse have turned the living paradise of rural Greece into living hell. The aftermath of approximately 90 lethal fires so far: 64 casualties, dozens of injured, about 1,000 made homeless as dozens of villages were burnt to the ground, approx. 1,000,000 acres of scorched forestland (including mountains, fields and farms), hundreds of burnt animals, the ancient valley of Olympia greatly destroyed. A whole prefecture in south Greece is probably wiped out of the map. A total environmental and economical disaster let alone the tragic loss of 64 souls in the flames. Even mountains surrounding Athens itself were set to fire by the ruthless arsonists. This is an act of war; this is terrorism – NOT an accident, and the enemy(ies), unknown! The country where the Apocalypse was written, where the Olympic Games initiated and the European civilization drew its origins, is weeping. My dearest Chris, Thank you for the wonderful memories from Halle & Regensburg. You have always been such a good friend to me. Thank you from the heart and I hope to see you again soon, in Greece. With love and respect, Dimitra

I have a battle with my "old" brother (50 years old and also a great fan) and my sister, that you will be singing here on the coast. I will win... I've talked to Mr. Klaus Bönisch. Bucks - UK 2007/08/16 - 22:59 Dear Mr De Burgh (and all his fans), A few years agon you were on songs of praise singing a very catching song about Jesus Christ, reaching his hand out and asking you to hold it, something along those lines at least. I really appreciate if someone could tell me what the song was called so I could play it at my church sometime. Kind regards.

Delmenhorst - Germany 2007/08/16 - 20:56 Dear Chris, sometimes it seems nearly a bit tragical to me - on every CdeB-concert you can see some people, who obviously know just one single CdeB-song-"The Lady In Red". When Chris starts to play his other songs, there are usually two possible ways those people behave. One part of them is getting very long faces, and I have even seen some persons leave the show... The other part reacts very surprised also, but after a while you can see them start clapping again, and in the end of the show everyone can see, that Chris "has got them". I think, the "Lady" is really a very two-faced person. She brought great success, sure, but on the other hand there are many people who say that they just can´t stand Chris and his music, just because they only know this single song of him.The "Lady" holds Chris in an iron grip until today, and I wonder, if she will ever let him go. Sometimes I wish Chris would write another big hit, just as big as the "Lady", but with some of his harder music. Maybe it would make the balance... Best wishes, petra

Los angeles, CA - USA 2007/08/10 - 22:22 Dear, Dear Mr. De Burgh, Your music makes me love life even more everytime I listen to it. I've laughed, cried and even wanted to beat up a couple of people when I've listened to you. I have almost all your CD's and as an Armenian living away from my homeland your revolutionary songs, songs for the love of your country, and love songs in general have left me to only get lost in your voice and music. Your song "Old fashined People" is one of my favorites. "Counting on You", "Spanish Train","Moonlight and Vodka", "Snows of New York"...... You're something else Mr. De Burgh. Thanks for everything. You've been by my side at some of my lonliest and happiest times. I love you, Christine

Solingen - Germany 2007/08/10 - 07:11 Hello Chris, for months I have been waiting for your concerts in Gymnich and Bielefeld and now they are already history again. Although the weather was so different (“A hot Gymnich night” and “A rainy night in Bielefeld) both concerts were FANTASTIC :):):). Words can not tell you how amazing you were once again. I still get Goosebumps just thinking about some of the songs, especially “The Leader” trilogy. I just love the solo parts of your concerts although of course the band was great, too. But I always feel that the interaction between you and us is much more intensive during the solo tours than during the concerts with band. But not matter whether you come alone or with band – you are amazing !!! Your songs have accompanied me through my whole life and they always touch my heart. I was happy to see that your family was with you in Bielefeld although the weather was so bad. I hope they enjoyed the show as much as we all did and that you can now enjoy some quiet and relaxing days with them. And then I wouldn’t mind if you would start on “The Storyman 2” !!!!! Once again “THANKS” for the two wonderful evenings and please come back soon !! Love, Evelyn

Noervenich - Germany 2007/08/08 - 08:41 Dear Chris! Thank you so much for two wonderful evenings in Gymnich and Bielefeld. The concert in Gymnich was just perfect: A great summer evening and an unforgettable concert together with my husband Stefan and many good friends. Sadly you cancelled the concert in Essen. When I first heard of the cancellation I was so sad, because I saw no chance for me to come to Bielefeld. But friends from the mailing list, my husband and my daughter made it possible. So thanks a lot Jutta, Iris, Sarah, Julia, Nicole, Stefan and Tabea Siobhan!!! Despite of the rain the concert was wonderful. There was only one thing that really made me feel angry and ashamed: The people running to the stage during "The Leader" - Trilogy. It would have been much more adequate and regardful to remain seated until the last picture and the last note was over. There was plenty of time to start the party. Especially in Bielefeld I felt ashamed when you told us, that on the day before in the year 1945 the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Thank you for reminding us and thank you for "The Leader" and the video. It still touches me and tugs at my heartstrings the way it did when I heard it live for the first time in Killarney. When I noticed, that your family was in Bielefeld, too, I was so happy for you. I hope you all had a safe journey home. I can`t wait to see you here in Germany again. God bless you and your loved ones. Kindest regards from Noervenich Annette

Rheinbach/Dundalk! - 2007/08/07 - 07:32 Well Chris! Glorious Gymnich! A great night, a wonderful set of songs, and once again those meaningful videos. Is it possible to get them on DVD? Especially the One World, and What about US? Thanks from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful way you make families/children welcome. Our 9 yr old, Christopher was at his first concert ever. He was unsure beforehand, even tho he loves the Storyman CD. But you made all our nights when you invited children on stage. He was mesmerised with the whole atmosphere. Then, to cap it all, you shook our hands, and took my tricolour to wave it to the crowd. How do you do it? You have such room in your heart for us all - "YOU are amazing". Christo had his first day of schol after the hols yesterday, and in answer to "what did you do for the holidays?" he answered " Was on stage with Chris de Burgh last night!" Thanks also to the boys in the band. They bring a great sound, and sense of fun with them on stage. All the very best to you, until we meet again! Pat Gabi and especially a very happy and proud Christopher.

Bad Soden-Salmünster - Germany 2007/08/06 - 23:06 Dear Chris and Crew, thank you very much for a wunderful evening in Gymnich, yesterday. We wish to point out something beside of the show, the music (which was fantastic, as usual): how fond of children the whole event was. A lookout for the young visitors, allocated by Chris personally; a security boy with ear plugs to issue; many people who were happy about the children being there (well, at least nobody complained about them loudly...). Thank you so much, our son had a great evening (and no, he did not wanted to know the way to the toilets, he *only* wanted to join you on stage... sorry for disturbing, but he was too quick!) We are sure your german is good enough to translate the text on the shirt our boy was allowed to give you - hopefully you had a look at it at least... CU next year, Florian, Jessica, Ulrike & Oliver

Ingolstadt - Germany/ Bavaria 2007/08/06 - 21:59 Hello Chris, thank you very much for this wonderful concert-night in Gymnich. I came a little bit to late, for the cars were standing instead of driving around Würzburg, but now I have an imagination how the concerts of you must have been twenty years ago as you were jumping on the stage this evening. It felt as would the young Chris de Burgh being here making a wonderful rocking night with lot of joy and fun. I really enjoyed this night beside all the past ones in Bavaria. And all the concerts had been different. So I can only sit down and sing: Don*t ask me When I'll go to sleep tonight I'm back again The journey had an end; And my heart is filled For a moment a sweet memory From the stranger Of the other side of the world, Who'd been near to me.... (continueing with the melody of 'Don't pay the ferryman' or "The same sun") and I don*t know wether such a mix in lyrics and melodies would not be forbidden from you. I wish you a good next concert before you will go back home over the ocean and many thanks for playing "Missing you". I was completely surprised by it. Come back soon Chris to Frankonia and Bavaria, yes please come back soon!:)) with love Monika

Hesston, Ks - USA 2007/08/06 - 16:02 Dear Chris, I have loved you since the 80's! I had your High on Emotions tape and your tape with Don't pay the Ferryman on it but when I tried to talk to people in America about you back then, they really didn't know who you were, which really upset me. When your song Lady in Red came out then people in America knew the song but they really didn't know about you and your music but I did. I have Irish in me but I have never been to Ireland but my friend from Ireland told me that it is beautiful. I just wish I could see you in concert, that would be awesome, you have an awesome voice and I can't get enough of your videos! I am getting ready to buy your boxed set of 4 cd's but I will have to have them shipped here from Europe since I can't find your cd's over here in America. I love your video Don't pay the Ferryman, which I can only watch on Yahoo UK, I just can't get enough of that video, I watch it over and over and over, I think you look good in black! I just want you to know that there is at least 1 American that loves you and that is me! Wishing I could see you in concert, Delena

Hameln - Germany 2007/08/05 - 17:33 Dear Chris, thanks for the wonderful concert in Hameln last night. It was just perfect in a park! We were delighted when you walked with your "Lady in Red" through the audience and called us all to the front for dancing. It was great to hear all the songs with moving memories and to see you are still rocking. Your songs have been with me for many, many years and to see you live on stage was great. We hope, you enjoyed it enough to come back to Hameln one day? Keep the ladies away from the Pied Piper!;) Elke and Manni

We're hoping to throw a mattress on my mums' floor for the duration!I hope non of us ever have to go through this again.Looking forward to Manchester more than ever, safe travelling, love always, Pauline,The Yorkshire rose.XX

Basildon Essex - United Kingdom 2007/08/02 - 21:27 Hi Chris, well its just one more day at work, before Stewart and I fly over Saturday for 'our' last 2 concerts of the summer tour. It's going to be another hectic weekend !! But who cares, we get to see 2 more concerts :-))))))) Anyhow, if you feel like changing any of the solo songs;-) I would 'adore' to hear you sing 'Songbird' and/or 'Five Past Dreams' :-))))) OK I can dream, but seriously I would love to hear both of them again especially 'Songbird' as its still one of my all time CdeB favourites, and I adored hearing you sing it on all the shows in the 2004 tour. And of course 'The Same Sun'!! So till Saturday take care and, love and hugs as ever, Chris(W)thebluehealer xxXxx

Switzerland 2007/08/02 - 15:51 Hi Chris, Well, after attending my 5th concert this year, I finally thought it's time to leave a message here: Your solo- and with-band-tour is just ingenious and I can't really get enough of it!!! Okay, at first I was slightly disappointed when it was announced that it won't be a complete solo-tour, but now I have to agree, that this is the perfect mixture! You, the band and everybody else on that tour has my respect for performing at so many places during so many nights - I can only assume how exhausting all this must be ... Thank you for taking this effort! Now I'm looking forward to my 6th and this year's last concert in Bielefeld! No doubt it is worth to travel that far!!! Keep it up! Ursula

I am sorry for the disturbance that I caused during the show whilst trying to adjust the ( too many ) layers of clothing, ( My stripping seemed to go down quite well with the people sitting around me !) Looking forward to Bielefeld now ! And I promise to be good !!!!!!! Love Alison xx

Unfortunately this was the only chance to visit one of the german concerts. Hopefully to see you once again maybe in further concerts within the next years. Hopefully you will continue in the same way as you did in the past. God bless you.

Wolfsberg - Austria 2007/08/02 - 07:31 Hallo Chris! I had the pleasure to be at the concert on the "Wörthersee" in Carinthia (Austria) and I was absolutely fascinated by your show, wow! After the show I saw the reation of the audience and I think they could not believe which wonderful concert they saw. By the way for me it was the 3rd Chris de Burgh concert after 1989 and 1992 in Innsbruck and it will not be the last. Thank you very much for coming in the name of all Carinthians and Austrians. Please come back again. Best wishes! Martin

edmonton - canada 2007/08/01 - 16:13 I had the pleasure of seeing Chris De Burgh in concert in 1983 (with Luba) and 1984, both in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have saved ticket stubs from each and am trying to find setlists and opening acts from his tour in 1984. If anyone has a lead on this, please let me know. Thanks.
