HELLO EVERYONE! Yestreday we were at the concert in Austria. And to be honest it was the best cultural show, we have ever seen in our lives. The show was absolutely fantastic it was a great mixture of slow beautiful melodies and spectecular evergreen songs, with super video and light effects. Chris De Burgh is the only person in the world, who sings even better live, than on CDs. He has a great humour and a beatuiful voice. Our dream came true yesterdy .
CHRIS YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD A GREAT PERSON WITH WONDERFUL FEELINGS.THANK YOU WE WILL REMEMBER THE 30TH OF JULY 2007 EVEN IN 2077.......

Dear Chris,
we were on the concert in Nörten-Hardenberg,and we will be in Hameln next Saturday too.
Do you remember "Every Drop Of Rain"?
It`s only on the Best Moves-Album, and I think I heard it on one of your concerts in the ealy 80th the last time. But although it`s a bit older, every time I hear it, I discover that I still like it very much, it`s still one of my favourits.-Especially because you do a lot of older stuff these days, besides the Story Man Songs, I wonder if you have forgotten "Every Drop Of Rain" ???
Or don`t you like it as much as the other old songs ?

Besr wishes,
petra

Dear Chris,

many thanks for your concert in Gotha in Thueringen. It was the greatest event for me in my birthplace on baroque-castle "Friedenstein"(Peacestone).

Fourty years ago I saw you only with your guitar in the "West-TV". Since this time I am a great and faithful fan of you.

All best wishes to you and your family

Hello Chris, Kristyna, Band and Jason!
I am just looking forward to the concert on the Seebühne in Felden. Not far away is one of the famos castles the Neues Schloß from King Ludwig II and for I know that you, Chris love his castles I'm thinking about wether you can manage to go there in the afternoon for a walk, when you are in the near of this place this year. I wish you that you can see this castle and feel the atmosphere there. I had been there with my family when I was a child and I enjoyed this place very much so I would like to share it with you all.

Hi Chris,
well Stewart and I have just arrived home(Sunday 21:15) after a somewhat hectic weekend!! Thanks for the great show last night, it was great to be able to fly over to see another great CdeB concert:-)) But gosh the journey back home today was horrendous. The 3 hour journey back to Dortmund airport was awful, the rain was sooo bad, good job, I'm a confident driver, although it was a bit scary in places when i could not see infront of my car :-((

Got back to Luton and even more traffic problems....it was obviously not meant to be an easy weekend for me.
Ah well,I hope your journey down to Austria was better than ours to Dortmund and please please take care or yourself in these horrible cold temperatures. Was the weekend worth it? for sure it was for the concert but on a personal level ..it was not the best weekend of my life for sure.
I'm sooo shattered now, I have to go to bed and try get some sleep before work at 08:30 in the morning!!
looking forward to next weekend all ready :-))) I pray for warmer weather before then !!!
All my love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hello Chris,

First of all, thank you very much for the wonderful concert last night in Rostock - and for contacting St. Peter beforehand asking for fine weather, as I couldn´t get him on the phone this time ;-)
And what a big, big surprise this afternoon when chris_e told me that you answered my freedom/peace question on the MotL! I was sitting there with my mouth open! And you answered it exactly the same way as I thought you would do.
Thank you so much. Well, chris_e offered to provide her place for a discussion on this, what about that? And inviting Wendy, Kelly, and all the other great fans to a night with Argentinian Malbec and delicious snacks? When will you be free?

Lots of love,
Sophia

Dear Chris: This Rostock show was, by all means, a perfect one, thanks to you and all you did to make it pleasant. The weather was fantastic, I felt the audience were really kind and supportive, and we all, myself plus five friends, enjoyed it all tremendously. We had the chance to listen to the band's soundcheck - top musicians - we had a great time listening to their interpretation of the Lady in Red. Thanks for so kindly accepting the flowers, thanks for "Carry Me", for stopping at my place during the LIR walk, for the party at the end and a wonderful show. If this had to be the last show I were ever to attend of yours, I would not mind - thanks with a big smile, Chris:-)

Hello Mr Music Man: I hear you did get my picture, and Chris', in an envelop and made her really really happy. You know something? This is what I call conditional love. I love you, because you made Chris happy even though I was not allowed to be with her. When she came back she told all about the fantastic night she had, and that you were responsible for it. But I guess she'll comment on this herself. Mamy many tailwags and really happy woofs and jumps to you, Mr loveliest Music Man, Yours faithfully, Hapoo

Hello Mr Music Man: May I complain, please? The fact that you are bringing your noise making friends tomorrow is bad for me! Chris will leave me with mom, which means that you will not have the chance to pet this old, wise, gray head of mine To step in for you Chris has attempted to make the visiting friend of hers give me pets, but I sure wanted YOU! Hi Chris,
after beeing in your great November shows in Dortmund and Düsseldorf last year, I got the chance to accompanie my former best man last night to "dresden".
Yesterday was something special for me: my first open air in such a beautyful place like Schloss Wacker"bath", together with a very good old friend, "In a country churchyard" as the first fully sang song (I had it on my wedding, too - sung by the gospel choir I'm member in) AND beeing SO close to you for SO many moments!!! And THANK YOU for calling us back to stay close to the stage to see the pictures to "The Leader" after the security made us leave the place first!!! The conection of your voice, the music and the film made me cry again.
Maybe I can come to "Norten-Hardenbörg", too - I've got no tickets yet, but my parents do...I work on it.
Keep on touching peoples hearts - thanks for all the good times, love, corinna

Hi Chris,

just want to say Thank You for your great concert in Mainz. The Leader Trilogy with its movie was again the highlight of your show. And there was a special highlight for me: you played "In A Country Churchyard". It was my wedding song (played by organ) and I´ve been waiting many of your concerts in vain to here it live. The show in Mainz was my very first concert with a seat in the front row and you came on stage and did "In A Country Churchyard" as your first song. Wooow!
I´m looking forward to your concert in Bad Nauheim. Please bring again a little bit sunshine to our really rainy german summer, like you did in Mainz!
BTW: Will there be a chance to hear "The Mirror Of The Soul"?

Best Wishes

Dear Chris,

Thank you very much for the great show at Schloss Wacherbar"th" last night! I espacially enjoyed the song "Lebanese night" - the song I got to know my husband. However, we called it "Egyptian night" as he is from Cairo. It was our first time to see you performing live and all I can say is that this was not the last one. We had a great time in an extraordinary location. We just missed the songs "Up here in heaven" and "Last time I cried".
By the way, your German is excellent! Your English pronunciation of Wackerbar"th" made us laugh many times.
We will never forget this night! Thank you!!!

What a nice venue.
'Where we will be going' is a very impressive song thanks to Tony on the drums. And again the 'Leader'....

I missed 'I see you everywhere', 'The Journey','The last time I cried' and 'Sweetest kiss of all' though.
Please enlarge your solo part as it was at the beginning of the tour. Please, cause I know you can.
Na nanana naha....

See you again in Potsdam for (hopefully) at least 2.5 hours tonight!
Just a small greeting from the hotel.

All the best,

Dear Chris!
Thank you so much for your marvellous concert in Mainz!
We enjoyed every single minute, especially our daughter Tabea Siobhan (age: 2 years and 9 month).
She danced, clapped her hands and sang along. We raise her bilingually (German and English). During "The Words I Love You" she responded to every "I love you." with "I love you, too." Perhaps you remember seeing her after the soundcheck as you went to the merchandising desk. She slipped down my arms, because she wanted to say "Hello" to you. She softly said: "Hello Chris, good luck." Sadly you could not hear it. And we did not want to disturb you one hour before the concert. I think, Tabea Siobhan already is a really great CdeB fan.
Thank you for your songs with the overwhelming videos, especially The Leader Trilogy.
I was happy to hear "The Last Time I Cried", "The Words I Love You" and "Perfect Day". The only thing I missed was "The Mirror Of The Soul", my favourite song on The Storyman CD.
Thank you, Chris, for a great evening.
I am dying to see you again in Gymnich (only about 8 kilometres from where I live!) and Essen.
All the best, and enjoy the rest of your tour.
Have a great time here in Germany.
And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

I know you hear this alot, but I am a big fan! I am saving up to buy all of your cd's, but i only have one so far. I don't have a job really. Just a one day a week thing that doesn't pay well. But, i am going to become an author once my book is finished being edited. You were a huge inspiration. I would always listen to your songs while writing, and ideas would just flow into my head. I am about half way done book two, and you are helping me all the way! Unfortunantly though,i have not been able to write ever since my boyfriend had a heart attch and passed away. I hope you sometimes enjoy reading in your guestbook all the entries there. Soon my summerholidays will be over and my heart is filled with much wonderful moments singing with you, seeing you, listening and laughing. Thank you very very much for these very good shows you performed at night with your band and Kristyna and for the good wishes for the journey for all, who had been and are on journey to you. I saw lots of flashes on my way during the night, but the traffic was well. And I became nearly cooked in my car in the sun. Best wishes for your journey too and for the concerts in the North now. I am looking forward to see you on Chiemsee, hopefully a place of peaceful waters, until I will finally have to go back to my work this year. I will miss you. Oh and wow, before I forget to tell you: Your German sentences are very well in grammar and pronunciation. Congratulation! That was a big surprise. You have been learning. Back home at the moment I find myself creating a new song about this journey and playing "In a country churchyard" with my guitar, well I've seen the chords you played.

Dear Chris,

it's almost 2.00 o'clock and I just came back from my (so far) last concert in Kempten. Another great show and maybe it was good it was indoors, as it had rained as we left the venue.
Thanks a lot for all the fantastic concerts, but please don't make the solo part even shorter... I think I missed two songs in Zuerich and Kempten???
Now "Lucas-Travel" is going to return to the real world for a few days and my car gets a break. BTW, I really enjoyed our duets while travelling on my own to Zuerich and Kempten with no one to talk to - which means I am singing "live", your voice comes from the tape :-))
Have a safe journey back home and hopefully a few relaxed days.
Take care, love and hugs and see you soon

Dear Chris,

thank you for the time you´ve given me before the concert in Mainz began.
I hope it was o.k. for you that I ´ve given you this gift/book about Marius. Finn-Lukas painted a picture for you. You will get it at the concert in Bad Nauheim. On this day Marius and I will have our 10th wedding day. I think a CdeB- concert is something where I can be very close to my husband.
In Mainz songs as The same sun, Spirit and of course In a country churchyard touches me most and I couldn`t hold back my tears. I´ve missed him so much when thinking of the last 25 concerts when he stood behind me by dancing in front of you! But I need your concerts to feel his spirit! Therefore I will be in Bad Nauheim and in Gymnich again!

I wish you all the best and take care!

Hi Chris,
Well Stewart and I arrived home safely at 22:20 hrs last night (Tuesday) exhausted but very HOE. We had a wonderful time on our 'mini tour' and really enjoyed the 6 concerts that we could attend. Again we saw parts of Germany that we have not been to before, so thanks for continuing to 'enhance' our cultural knowledge of a wonderful country. Hope this makes sense....I'm sooo tired !! We travelled so many kilometres in just 11 days, it really was amazing. As usual it’s pretty stressful, and I hate 'living out of a suitcase'....why is it that when you start out, the clothes all fit in a suitcase easily, but when you have to keep repacking them, they never repack the same !!! But of course all the stress is far out weighed by the enjoyment that we get by attending the concerts :-))) please never give up performing.

The concerts just got better and better each evening and the ones that stand out in my mind at this moment are: Regensburg, for the weather... (OK I know its name means rain!!)As soon as the first note of the intro music played the rain started instantly :-(( I guess we must have all looked so funny in our rain jackets and rain capes etc. Talk about a 'sea' of different colours !! But what a lovely venue and a great show. Heilbronn, as the town was just soo beautiful and the long walk along the riverbank to get to the show was lovely, and the weather was beginning to get better by then and it was quite warm for the first half of the concert, Abenberg another lovely setting, but what a steep hill we had to climb to get there, and the weather had turned by then and it was getting hotter and hotter. I was absolutely 'exhausted' by that climb, but the exhaustion soon went away when I saw you !!! Well OK it was really coz I could just sit down and catch my breath !!! That show was great and by then I was feeling a little bit more relaxed, so could enjoy the shows even more. But the layout of the venue could have been better, as to have people walking in front of the stage all evening must have been very 'off putting' for you as you tried to sing, I know it was really irritating for us, and we were just the audience!! But of course that was nothing to do with you, it was just the layout could have been planned by the organisers a lot better.

Mainz and Augsburg...what can I say !! Both superb shows and Mainz was as 'hot' as it was 'cold' last time !!! I thought we were all going to melt, so thanks for the 'ice cubes’ that you threw from the stage. I guess it must be really difficult for you to sing for over 2 hours in such 'hot' temperatures, but you were in 'top form'. I guess the best audiences were definitely in Mainz and Augsburg. Whow you got sooo many gifts in Augsburg!! For me personally Augsburg was 'sad' especially towards the end, as I knew that I would be saying goodbye to all my 'friends' the next day and then travelling home to my 'normal' boring life of work, eat and sleep, work eat and sleep !!! Ah yes I have to do this to earn the money for the concerts ;-) So now my normal life had already kicked back in and today I will spend doing the things I hate to do like washing and ironing and house work before I start back to real work tomorrow. What do I miss most when on a tour ? Without a doubt, the small kiddies that I love to nurse when at work. I really miss that side of my job sooo much when I am away from it.

Well once again thanks for 6 great shows, and best of luck with the rest of the tour.....I'm really gonna miss you, but of course as you know, Stewart and I will be back for a couple more of the shows towards the end of the tour.
So till then,
All my love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Hello Mr Music Man: I hear you will bring the noise makers with you. Do you know what a crucial decision that is? It means that I will not be allowed to accompany Chris to see you! Do you honestly think that's fair? I honestly don't, but which normal human cares what a dog thinks beyond an invisible, individual border. That is so bad, for I cannot deliver my promise of giving you the chance to pet me or sharing my passion for chocolate cake with you! Hush, don't tell that to Chris. For one reason she says chocolate cakes are a nono for myself, but the truth is that she just generally won't share any good cake! Chris is going to go see you with a load of folks, and it really looks like fun. Trust me, Mr Music Man, I will know whether you did a great job or not - I can read Chris' mood when she comes back! Chris says it's just a a week to go, so cheers, Hapoo.

Dear Chris,

you made one of your fans (me of course!!) the happiest person in the world!
Why?

You gave The Journey at your concert in Augsburg and that was simply marvellous!
Thanks a million!
In my last entry here in the guestbook some months ago I wished that you played this (for me very
special) song in one of the concerts at the summer tour.
And my dream came true!

The concerts in Mainz and Augsburg were really great! Such lovely surroundings with the floodlit cathedral in Mainz.
(Hi to Al, David, Kristyna, Nigel, Tony, thanks for the possibility to take a photo before the concert)

And again you presented the trilogy of The Leader together with the video movie as in November.
Mankind should endeavor that such horrible scenes will disappear from our world.
...and I will never know how men can see the wisdom in a war...

Keep up the good work, see you in Zurich, I enjoyed your concerts very much

G.

Maybe you wondered why somebody scanned the hedges with excitement directly in front of
you at the end of the Augsburg concert. Gosh! My silly camera fell down more than 1.2 meters between the
even sillier branches! But I got it back (and all my pictures from the concerts were rescued) at last because a
kind man of your crew helped me after the show by crawling under the stage! :-) Again a big thank you to him.

Dear Chris,

"I can't look in your eyes and see that smile and not smile myself"

Just back from Mainz and Augsburg
= a wonderful summer-concert-trip :-)

The concerts were brilliant. Thank you very much. I'm absolutely delighted. The mixture of solo-concert and band-concert was perfect, especially the duet with Kristyna Myles. She's a wonderful young lady. Her voice is marvellous. Al, David, Tony & Nigel are outstanding musicians.

Chris, it was a great pleasure meeting you in Mainz before the concert. Thank you very much for the photograph with you.

I have followed your spotless career and I have visited a vast number of your concerts since 1984. Your are simply the best.

In everyday life your songs and your concerts are like an energy drink. Keep it up.

By the way, special greetings to Jason from the Merchandising. He's jolly fellow: Hi Jason: Give me a hug :-)

Finally a special thank-you to Kristyna for the signed autograph-card. Keep up the good work.

I believe that we'll meet again someday.

Take care.

I wish you all the very best !

Hi! Just back from the wonderful concert in Augsburg! Thank you! It was really fantastic, besides this time I was sitting in the front row so i could really enjoy everything!
There was a small problem, we were not allowed to bring any drink inside, even if the weather was really too hot. The prohibition was not only for glass bottles (which is understandable), but for plastic bottles as well. A lot of people had to leave the bottles, still full and closed, just outside the doors, where they were quickly taken by some old people, unemployed and similar (when you bring back a bottle in the shop you get about 25 cents back, quite a win for some people!). I have to say, thanks to my father who has a disability card we were allowed to bring some water in, but for all the other was a no-no. Maybe next time the security guys should be a bit more flexible!
anyway, thank you again for the wonderful concert!
And next time you come to Augsburg remember that I am a registered tourist guide...I will give you a free tour of the town!

Mainz seemed the closest to Luxembourg of all the tour dates, so we did it.

We had a really wonderful time, enjoying and singing your songs. Time was simply flying away....

Your lyrics and melodies always touch our hearts and souls and exactly this makes it a wonderful experience, also after so many years.

Good luck with the remaining part of your tour, hope the weather keeps on being on your side and...maybe see you in Luxembourg for a concert soon ?!

Hi Chris!

You did a wonderful job again in Mainz yesterday! Thanks a lot for a great show!! Kristyna also sang beautifully again. (By the way, why don't you let her sing "Lebanese Night" with you, too??) It was a good idea to remove "Where Peaceful Waters Flow" from the end section to the middle of the show. And some songs also seemed a little different from the way you used to sing them. So everything felt quite "fresh" in a way. (Despite the stifling heat ... :) ) I only wish you had also played "The Mirror of the Soul" as it is one of my favourites from "The Storyman" album - but if you wanted to sing all the songs people would like to hear, you'd have to spend a whole weekend singing I guess ... (Which wouldn't be the worst of ideas on the other hand ... :) )
Thanks again for a wonderful evening & all the best for the rest of the tour!!

Lots of Love,
Tanja

Hi,
I just have to sign here...for my mother and me.
We will visit the concert in Mainz, Germany on July 15. This concert will be our first step back to normal life after the sudden death of our beloved husband and father last week. We thought about not going to Mainz, but he wouldn't want us to sit and mourn him from now on. He was not old or ill and noone expected him to leave us, but he talked about the topic so often, we know that he wants us to go on living and we will start this in Mainz.
And both of us hope that "Spirit" will be on the playlist, because these words are exactly what he always thought and said about death and dying: Nobody will leave us forever, we can feel our beloved ones around us and in us whereever we are.
Sorry to all who think this text is stupid, misplaced or whatever (please, please don't send me hate- or pity-emails, just forget this signing) It's not a mad fan who wrote these words, it's a daughter who just wanted to say thank you for so many hopeful songs and words because hope is the only thing which never dies - if you just don't kill it. Thank you.

Guten Abend Chris !!!!
well I had better practise my German a bit before Stewart and I arrive in Germany on Saturday ;-) Anyhow I'm just dropping by to say, I hope you had a lovely 'rest' on your holiday and are well refreshed and ready to entertain us all on the summer concerts!! We in the audience will of course be providing the 'backing vocals' for all the songs :-))It will be nice to have the band there as well, but I have to say that I was more than happy with a 'solo' tour. I sooo enjoyed the solo tour of 2004
:-))) but I also enjoy the band concerts as well, so a combination of the two will be great:-)) I pray that the weather will be much better than it is here in England, where its rain, rain and more rain, but thankfully we have not been flooded like soo many people in Sheffield etc. But from what I hear from friends in Germany, the weather really is not much better there either :-(((
Please take great care of yourself on your travels and I wish you a safe journey into Germany. And remember if you should fall ill and need a nurse..........'just call my name and I'll be there' .............ok, I'm in dream mode again ;-).
So now I only have 1 more day to work (Friday) before we fly over very early Saturday morning to be met at the airport by 'Lucas Travels' ;-) !!!
Can't wait to see you again in Halle on Sunday evening...it seems ages since we last saw you............I know its not really, but thats the way it feels !!!!Well it is actually 7 months since the end of the November/December 2006 German tour !!!
Today I had my feet 'stamped on' so to speak ..by 'my boss' and as I thought that I now have to pass this onto my own staff in my area tomorrow before I leave for my 'annual leave', it made me think very much of your comment on MOtL the other day about 'chain of reaction'....its soo true !!!
Nearly forgot....please please pretty please include 'Songbird' and of course 'The Same Sun' and maybe even 'Five Past Dreams' in the set list......if you do, you will make me very very happy lady indeed :-)))
Well bye for now,
See ya Sunday !!
Love and Hugs as ever,

Dear Chris, I forgot to say that the last time I made an entry that I had received the Much More Than This anthology, it arrived on the Friday mornimg as we werre about to set off to York for my stepsons wedding(which gave us a lovely weekend), then of course as we arrived home we were flooded out and had to vacate pretty quick, we spent the following week backwards and forwards to our house getting cleaned up etc, we're now back home and the house is like a demolition zone, work is very busy so as yet I still haven't heard my new cds, hopefully this weekend will give me a little time - right now I so wish I was "doing" the current tour of Germany etc as I'm sure you can understand, still, I have my visit to Eire in September and the Manchester concert to look foward too. All the best with your current tour and travel safely, love always, Pauline, The Yorkshire Rose XX

Dear Chris, :-)

...again. Sorry! This message wasn't planned at all.

Here it goes: yesterday, early in the morning - still lying in bed, half asleep - didn't want to wake up... Guess what??? Suddenly you with your voice on the radio, "Here is Chris de Burgh. I look forward to my concert in Heilbronn". What a way to start off the day! I had to bear some comments from my husband - indeed.

Wish you a lot of power for the tour.

Love you, Gerlinde

P.S. And it will be a huge honour for me to say welcome to a fan :-) (who will come from Cambridge/UK) in Abenberg. Although we both worry about getting hold of good seats. Anyway.

Thanks Astrid for the reply with the box.

Since I'm going to attend the concert in Rostock I would like knowing if it is available there and what other CDs are available at concerts+

Thanks

Dear Chris,
just at the beginning of my holidays I got the "Much More Than This" anthology. When I opened it up, I saw that I have missed some of your lyrics in the last 20 years. It was like a look through decades, beginning with your first albums, which I got in a closed cassett as records around 1985 or 1986. Many years I spended my time listening to these records, wishing I could see you in my life until I found, later back in this town a cassett "This way up". There had been "The Snows Of New York" on it as far as I can remember and I loved this song so much and thought I must play it on my phoneengine for all my friends, until I found you during "The Road To Freedom"-Tour in live, I had heard nothing new about and around you over some years. All reality with you beeing near had begun with your Road to Freedom Tour in my life. I had found the man, whom I adored in my younger years, you and since this time I am happy to have the chance to see you again in my country. And listening to the unreleased track today with the old songs "Nights in White Satin", "American Pie","Hey Jude" and "Yesterday", suddenly my room and my life seemed to be again under your spell. I remembered the "Parties" in Nürnberg and Ingolstadt at the end of the concerts, where we all were singing a little bit silent with you. Sometimes it feels here like this, that your voice and the words of some lyrics bring a personal touch of you my room. I have no extraordinary explanation for this. And I am glad that the time is near to leave this "lonely sky" for some days, though it is raining and raining outside. Maybe I will need a Jeans more and rainclothings next week, when the rain cannot be stopped by heaven.

Chris, I wish you a good journey and tour and I hope you will arrive savely and the tour will not be always under water. Good luck for all the other tour-members too.

WElCOME TO GERMANY AGAIN:)))))) See you later:)))

with love
Monika

Dear Chris, :-)

...The Storyman Summer Tour - only a few days... :-)

Please take good care on the roads and up in the sky. I hope that you and your friends will be blessed with good weather during the whole tour. And I wish that the response from the audience will always be fantastic.

I look forward to seeing you, to hearing your strong voice, to listening to your meaningful songs and to buying the Limited Edition Box Set 'Much More Than This'.

And yes, "The Same Sun" is one of the best things you have ever written. (MOtL - June 28).

I'm sure that I will be sailing away with you soon...

Love you, Gerlinde

P.S. ...the young policeman and our neighbour: I only say, "Miracles do happen". And please read my messages No. 32666 and No. 32667 (about Heilbronn) on the mailinglist board. Thanks.

It does say carier spanning but as far as i can note ther is nothing from Road To Freedom and Storyman. Is that correct?

Thanks in adwance
