near Rostock - Germany 2007/04/23 - 19:25 Hello again Mr Music man: So sorry I haven't posted since about a year ago, but Chris says it's the security codes' fault. However, here I am, pitiful as ever, forced to tell you that she did it! Yes, she went and bought the dull smelling paper, put it in her handbag and said now she can go and see you right in our favourite Rostock city. Okay, so what does that have to do with the papers? She said she convinced the cousin that it would be neat to do her a favour, so cousin said she will go along, while mom is supposed to take care of me. I like mom, but I love Chris! Can't I stay with you so I see Chris really fast after you are done with your noise that, according to Chris, will hurt my Hapoo ears? And to make things worse: Shadow, Chris' Shadow that is, the one who named me Hapoo, who only got to know Chris and me because of you, Shadow is not accompanying us, because he is going to the Iran place where Chris has been, too. Would you do Chris the favour, pretty please, and sing the carrying song for her? O yeah, carry me, but I am heavy! If you don't, I promise I will come and give you Hapoo kisses till you want no more. If all men are like Shadow, then you aren't too fond of Hapoo kisses and will volunteer to sing the carry song for Chris

Welkom - South Africa 2007/04/22 - 17:52 Dear Chris I have been a fan since Spanish Train first came out. It was banned in South Africa (silly, I know) - but only for a while. I saw your excellent performance in Pretoria, S.A. on you 'Power of 10' tour. I was on crutches at the time, but this didnt stop me standing of the chair to sing and dance along with you (my husband sayed grounded to make sure I didnt fall and injure myself again.) I love all your music and must admit this is the 1st time I have contacted you.Its a shame really, because I feel now that I have lost out. Anyway, I am 48 years old and have to tell you that my son, Marc (18) loves your music too.He play guitar and is looking to start his own band.(Any advise???) Anyway, Borderline is probably my most favourite song, but the rest come a close 2nd. Keep up the good work and please give us an idea when you will be touring South Africa again. (Please make it in the near future) With Thank & Fondest Regards Norma

It brought back lovely memories for me of 3 lovely days I spent in Germany with friends in March :-)) What amazed me tonight though, was the way the radio station had changed the play order of all the songs...I can never understand why they do that !! The order that you sung them in at the actual recording was much better, in my opinion!! Ah well, thats about it for now. Hope Rosanna had a great 23rd birthday the other day..please say a belated 'happy birthday' to her from me. Love and hugs as ever, Chris.....thebluehealer xxXxx

Heather Helton (
New York City - USA 2007/04/14 - 02:55 Hello Chris, I hope you and your family had a lovely Easter! I spent it in California. My older sister was baptized along with her 2 yr. old daughter and 9mo. old son. I love my neice and nephew! I was so weepy when it came time for me to come back to NY. Anyway, here's a funny, funny connection. I have recently been cast in an independent film and when talking with the producer and director about my character, I asked the director, Glenn McQuaid, where he was from. I was suspecting Ireland by his accent. Indeed he said Ireland. So I asked him if he knew who you were. He said he did, then proceeded to tell me that when he was about 14 he performed in some talent show where to his mother's dismay he stripped (I'm sure not for real or anything) to Patricia the Stripper! I was cracking up at hearing this. Just thought you'd find that amusing. Anyway, I'm so excited by the character I'm playing. I'm a bad guy(girl). The film is called I Sell the Dead. It's about graverobbers in the 1700's and how they would sell bodies to doctors who wanted to study them. My character's name is Valentine Kelly. I'm part of the most feared team of graverobbers! I wear a velvety black coat tailored as a dress. And I wear a wax mask that has been formed to my face. My name is Valentine because my ex-lover had tried to burn me to death on Valentine's day. So I wear a mask to hide my scars. But, it is also a weapon. Whenever I take my mask off and reveal my grotesquely scarred face, whoever sees me dies from shock! So funny! Sweet little Heather playing the Villain! I feel a bit like the Ferryman all dark and mysterious. I love the drama of it. Anyway we're filming the end of May, but if you go on imdb.com and do a title search with I Sell the Dead there will be info about it and a cast list. I'd love for you and anybody reading this to check it out! Bye for now... Heather

Kingston upon Hull,East Yorkshire - United Kingdom 2007/04/05 - 20:14 Dear Chris, I was interested in the comments om MOTL rearding the backing vocals. I think it all depends on the song, some will lend themselves to other singers being used while others are best with just your voice, but then, at the end of the day, it's quite often just a matter of personal choice of the listener.Wishing you all a Happy Easter, love a;ways, Pauline(The Yorkshire Rose)XX

Ingolstadt - Germany/ Bavaria 2007/04/02 - 22:24 Dearest Chris musician and artist and songwriter! It is a long time, that I have not seen you again. So I thought about my next holidays in summer, it could be possible to go to another concert to see you again, while I am now listened to The Thunder Gulch CD, which reminds me to my childhood riding a horse here. As I got it I had so much to laugh. That was the right song arriving me the right day on saturday to think about the youth here, which could be a bit equal to yours. Well I lived only beside a castle. Chris I love to write you and because for so many years I could not find you, I enjoy it very much, that I have really met you in my life in the last years. Everywhere I go I have a song from you in my mind. Finally I began to try to write in your language some little stories including a woman, who is searching for you and you, who is singing lyrics. I created a homepage, wrote some songs, when you had been not here in Germany and I feel well with doing this beside my work. I think I could take this as hobby now. Because I find it interesting, that these things to meet a stranger who is loved since many years, but never could know this, really happened in my life with you, I have the immagination to write a novel about it, including you as protagonist in your language. My immagination is that you could really talk to me over your lyics, what I always felt since I heard the first ones and I want to give you an answer in my stories, which could describe a life far away from you in another country between the years 1984 and now perhaps. I hope one day I'll can make a book like this, but this still lys in the stars. If you can really find my homepage, I would be pleased to find a message from you in my site. You are always welcome there as reader, Chris de Burgh! "We're living in a guilty secret, deep in our hearts..." Chris de Burgh with love Monika

Delmenhorst - Germany 2007/04/01 - 19:42 Dear Chris, about Gabrial, who asked you a question under MOtL a few days ago, about more love-songs at your live-concerts, I have got the same feeling as Michaela, who wrote a note about it in the guestbook.- I love songs like "The Revolution", "Easternwind" or "The Storyman", and I would be very disappointed, if you wouldn´t do it live in concert anymore.I think, all your songs have to do with your feelings, so they have to deal with many things in life, because if they didn´t, even the love-songs wouldn´t be as good as they are. It´s something about honesty, I guess, to do "the whole thing" and not only a part of it. That may be one of the reasons why your songs are so good and so speciall. Just stay as you are, and keep on playing all your songs, even live in concert.-Only the time is the limit, with the concert´s end... and that´s enough. best wishes, petra
