You are truly an amazing Storyteller, but more than that you seem to have a gift for writing very inspiring words. Words that can have a profound effect on people. My Father passed away on February 9, 2007, after a short battle with cancer.
On February 10th I was in Vancouver picking up my daughter, and was leaving the next day for Edmonton, Alberta for my Dads' funeral. I happened to walk into a music store, went directly up to your slot, pulled out and bought the Storyman CD.
An hour later I put the CD on in my vehicle and as soon as Spirit came on , I was blown away. This song was my Father! I don't know how or why but I felt as if something made me pick up this CD for this song alone.
My siblings and I were writing up words of remeberence for our DAD the night before the ceremony and my wife went and got the CD and played it. Needless to say my family was also blown away. It is hard to write words about a mans' life that could only take up 10 minutes of the funeral mass! Thanks to you we had the perfect ending to his life story from this song. I read your words, as my families final words, about the Man, Father and Grandfather that we loved .
Thank you, Thank you , Thank You from the entire Woodman family. Your timing was impeccable.
Mihael Woodman.

Bonjour Chris,
Bye! Bye! xxx

Dear Chris,
I know that you have to look after several seed beds.
Once I listened to an interview with an artist. He said: "If you perform live-concerts - you must perform such/these concerts persistently. Otherwise you will have to start at the beginning". I think that he is right.
And I am so grateful to you for providing for your seed bed 'Germany' on a regular basis. What I'm trying to say is: "Thank you so much for your 'Storyman Solo' tour dates in 2007. WOW - A SUMMER WITH YOU"!
But I am sure that you also will do unforgetable concerts - as ever :) - for your fans all over the world as soon as possible.... Hope that they will wait with patient.
Love you, Gerlinde - so uncertain , whether you like my comments or not??? But/however encouraged by Nicole :)

Chris you're the best! It's long been my dream to be in one of your concerts but as the situation of my country it was never possible. I saw one of your interviews that you said you dearly love to perform in Iran. I hope and pray for that day. And about your songs: the saddest song I've ever heard is your song: "a rainy night in Paris",The song that I felt exactly the same inside of me is "So Beautiful" and I strangely love "Fatal Hesitation" as one of your top 5 songs. The songs that most influence me are: It's me,lonely sky, borderline, natasha dance, crusader, sailor,st. peter's gate, windy night & sailing away. But I'd better say I seriously love 95% of your songs!!! Wish you the best.hope to hear from you.

Cheers Chris for the great gig in Sheffield on the 10th Feb.I came for a birthday treat with my friend(a first timer)to see the show in a new light with the skaters(loved your attempt!) and acrobats etc and we both loved it.Was also great to catch up with Kristyna who came to find us pre show :-)Must say that I agree with her point that, had the show been advertised on tv during the Dancing On Ice add breaks you would have sold out completely. However the crowd seemed really responsive and up for it so I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Was also great to see Kris helping out on backing vocals and tambourine.
Thanks all for a great night and look forward to seeing you again.Liz x

Dear Chris,
a little poem to the Valentine's Day
This is my window. I have just woken up gently.
I thought I would float.
To where reaches my live,
and where starts the night.
I could think I still
would everything be all around;
transparent as one crystal
Depth, darkens, dumb.
I also could take hold
of the stars in myself, so big
seem my heart to me; I so liked
to let him off again
maybe I loving this one,
maybe started to hold.
Strange as never described
my Destiny looks at me.
I am put what under the Infinity,
smelling as a meadow
moved to and fro.
With Love
Heike

Dear Chris,
since yesterday the tickets for Essen are online to buy. But I'm very appalled about the high prices.
I decided not to go to Essen, because I also planed to go to Gymnich.
I love your music and I love to see you live on stage, but the ticketprice are really high.
In the past you told that you always try to make it possible for everyone to visit your concerts(I know you have to pay a lot taxes etc.), but these prices are not very family-friendly.
Please do not missunderstand me, but I'm not able to relate why the ticketprices go off.
Hoping, the next concerts are not so expensive.
Seeing you in Gymnich

Take care and hopefully see you soon,

Hi Chris,
just want to say how much both Stewart and I enjoyed the 'Art On Ice' at Sheffield on Saturday evening. The skaters were superb and although I do not normally follow that 'sport' I still found it very interesting to watch. The Russian acrobats were brilliant on stage during the first half of the show.they really were amazing. And what can I say about the dancer to LIR and her routine with a chair!! I will for sure never listen to LIR in the same light ever again..I'll always rememeber the 'chair'!! must be the first time that I have been to a CdeB 'gig' and not looked at the 'singer' all the time ;-)) but sorry the ice skaters were well worth watching for a large part of the show. One of the major highlights for me was 'Raging Storm' as i adore this song :-)) It was also great to see all the dancers out on the ice for HOE and SONY, and then after it was all over....you left the stage and heavily supported by 2 tall ice skaters, you walked, slipped and slid' to the 'centre' of the rink to take a bow along with everyone else. That was very nice, but you looked pretty nervous. Of course as soon as we saw the new single there, we had to buy it and were well pleased to see another unreleased song on there as well, and we listened to it on the way home the following day, and it is brilliant. Another CdeB master piece and I see reading the small print that you produced mixed and recorded the new song completely by yourself.....I wonder if this is a 'first' for you to do the actual recording as well. Its going to seem an awfully long time till July now :-(((((
Have a great valentines day on Wednesday......with plenty of 'hugs'. I'll imagine a nice hug from you to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer
xxXxx
ps: I have no idea why both you and Kenny seemed to think I had 'been moaning' about sitting in row 6..as I have never ever mentioned row 6. I like several others in the guestbook mentioned that we were sitting 1/2 way down the arena, but as it happens, we we saw an empty block nearer the stage, so we moved to that during the interval !!

Hello Chris,
Just had to say how much I enjoyed "Art On Ice" at Sheffield. The international skaters and the acrobatic group "Atlantis" were all excellent.
I loved the selection of songs which you chose to sing. TLIR will never be quite the same ever again after the performance by Shae-Lynn Bourne! Wow!
Congratulations to Kristyna Myles who did the duet "Raging Storm" with you - the new single just being released! Thanks to the boys in the Band who are just wonderful musicians.
It looked a bit dodgy joining the artists on the ice for the final bows?!
You mentioned Valentine's Day being soon and having hugs.. sounds good!!I'll check that out with my Valentine and hope that you have a lovely day too! ;-)
From the heart!

What a fantastic night in Sheffield , with some very special moments !! Thankyou.
The whole show was just amazing with the skaters and Atlantis . It was hard being so far away from the stage though, and I heard some one say " I think the three ladies in front are Chris de Burgh fans " ( how could they tell ? )
I am planning my Cheimsee trip now to give me something to look forward to.

Hi Chris, well, last night at Sheffield was everything I expected, of course, initially we were only there to see you but the skaters performing with you singing was truly something else - I'll never look at a chair in the same light again!!And so nice to see Kristyna with you again. We were down on the front row in our section and as always I was out my seat as your performance progressed only to be tapped on the back to a "we can't see the skaters", how could anyone not want to be on their feet with such a performance going on. Actually, we did think that we wern't going to make it, the lift in our hotel decided to have an eppy and stop between floors or something, not a good thing to happen when it's taken years to overcome a fear of lifts in the first place, it's the stairs from now on for me, just the thought that I might be late or even miss one of your shows doesn't bear thinking about. Anyway, thanks a million for the show, a wonderful lift during the dark months. Love always, Pauline(The Lady in Red - your very own Yorkshire Rose)XX

Hi Chris, What can I say about last nights show at Sheffield except FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!im not very good with words as you can probably tell but what a night.........the concert songs choice were fab and the skaters interpretation of the music was astonishing. The lady who danced to the Lady in Red her dance will stay in my mind for a while. The strength of Atlantis was unbeleivable, they made every movement look effortless. Aljona and Robin danced to Leningrad beautifully too. All the skaters were unbelieveble and to see them all dance to High On Emotion my husband and i couldnt take our eyes off them. Its certainly a concert we will not forget in a while. Not forgetting you and the band and Christina. On the way to the concert we were trying to guess what songs you were going to sing we guessed 4of them. Thank you for a fantastic memorable evening. Best wishes Wendyxxxxx

To my friend and protector, kind of my second Dad,
who manages to cheer me up whenever I'm sad.
With word and song you stroke my soul and are always here,
you heal the pain and you wipe away the tear.
And if I despair in the tunnel there would come no light,
I take your picture facing and I'll think that I must fight.

Because you are unique...
Nobody has got your fingerprints.
Nobody has got your voice.
Nobody says "I love you" the way you do.
Nobody believes the way you do.
Nobody thinks of death the way you do.
Nobody has got your background.
Nobody feels the same sorrow,
The same fortune as you do.
Nobody is like you.
Nobody in your land, at your continent,
on the third planet of this solar system,
in the galaxy that we call Milky Way.
Nobody, because you are unique.

Dear Chris,
I am very pleased that you will tour through Germany this year again for so much concerts. For sure I will take the chance to come. A few days ago I got the "Quiet Revolution" CD too and what I really love is, that I have a collection of your lyrics now, which is so much greater since I found you in the Road to Freedom Tour. I like all of your lyrics and enjoy it very much to sit here in the evening and to listen to the CD's. What I like too are the interview-links in the mailing-list. So thank you for all who sent them to the list. A few days ago I could look a video-clip of "Lebenese Night" and "Sailor" about your visit of the Star Academie. I think you can immagine how it felt after the experience when you were here in the last summer and you sang this song so far away from Lebanon. Still thinking about your words you said about your Lebanese fans in the wartimes. So I am glad, that you were there and you really looked very happy about it all. All the best wishes from me for your next tour and the function as UN ambassador. I was very surprised to see this about my most loved musician.
Have a good day Chris

Dear Chris, I got to watch you last night(Thurs) with Terry Wogan and enjoyed every minute, pity it wasn't longer, still, it's safe and sound on my "CdeB" dvd as my stepson recorded it for me, we enjoyed seeing you and Kristyna singing too - what a beautiful voice that young lady has, like Chris Williams, I didn't like the Bill Bailey bit either so that got the chop, even though I like him as a comedian. I have to say though after watching the "then" bits you have matured very nicely and think you are sexier now than when you were younger!Looking forward to Sat, one of my Christmas gifts from my wonderful husband who puts up with my "all things CdeB" world!!!He is a diamond. When I young boy and a young girl sing a song about the yellow submarin and oh maria.....

Dear Chris
You mentioned that you like to read messages from your fans on your website - so here you are!:-) It's now ten weeks ago that you gave that fantastic concert in Berlin (28.11.06). So ten weeks I walk on crouches now as my foot got buggered while I was rushing down the stairs to the stage to meet you in person. Well, it was really unfortunately and a little strange regarding to the fact that I was probably one of the youngest in the audience. So my night didn't finish in a pub as you intended but in the local hospital for the xray. As I can't do much these days I have plenty of time to listen to your CDs I got for Christmas. Lovely songs which touch my heart&soul.
You and your music are just magic to me!
Thank you Chris and hopefully see you soon!
All love from Berlin

Hi Chris,
It was great to see you on 'Wogan Now and Then, on TV last night. It was nice to see you looking soo relaxed as you sat there and chatted with your old pal 'Terry Wogan'!! hated the 'Bill Bailey' bit though :-(( but loved the 1989ish version od Missing You that Terry showed...and his comment about that you could not dance!!! hehehehe
It was also great to hear the new single 'Raging Storm' with Krystina Myles, although it was soo different without the full band backing.
Now I'm really looking forward to 'Art On Ice' on Saturday, but only wish I could have got better seats, but when we booked them up the first day they were released I think, they told me that the only seats available were 1/2 down the side of the arena. I just wish we could have sat a bit nearer the actual stage, but I'm sure we will still enjoy it very much, and I am looking forward to seeing all the ice dancers as well as you of course!!
Love and Hugs as always,
Chris...thebluehealer xxXxx

Dear Chris,
Great to see you on 'Wogan:Then and Now'last night (U.K. T.V.) I adore Terry and the two of you together is always magic. Wonderful to see Kristyna Myles singing 'Raging Storm' with you too.
Not long until Saturday and 'Art on Ice'in Sheffield.. Really looking forward to a new experience of seeing an Ice Show live.
Of course it'll be nice that you and 'the boys' are there too and though you'll just be dots on the stage from where I'll be I guess I'll cope! ;-)
From the heart!

Glad I found this site! I've followed chris's career ever since the release of the album "The Getaway" and have loved his music ever since. My favorite song is "Up Here in Heaven" I watched the PBS special of the ceremonies celebrating the 50th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy and heard him sing it there. It was beautiful. Keep up the good work and, oh, I loved your outfit when you participated in the Royal Knockout Tourney several years ago.

Dear Chris,
more than 20 years ago a friend took me to a concert of yours in my hometown Nuernberg in Germany. At this stage I would have never believed how this would change my life some day. After my first holiday in Ireland I knew that this was the country where I felt at home and where I wanted to live. Now I am living here in a beautifull place by the sea and think I should at least let you and others know how I came to visit Ireland and now to live here.
I never regret this step (and it is quiet a big step to move from Germany to Ireland with 12 horses and two cats)
for a single minute.
All the best and mind yourself
Andrea

Dear Chris,
I have seen the videos of Beirut (Star Academy). Your Lebanese fans were so happy to see you, and you too. I have liked this very much. It makes me sad to know being able to not this live the people there into peace. We only can hope for that one of a day there peace is. Everything the best for you and the show in Sheffield, and we are happy here in Germany until the summer.
With love
Heike

Hi Chris
Congratulations on becoming UN Ambassador - well deserved.
I have seen you in concert a few times in UK. Why aren't you doing another one in Liverpool Cathedral. It was a brilliant concert with great acoustics (and of course it's near to Anfield).

Hi Chris. I grew up in Ireland and remember, at the age of 12, walking down a country lane at night, with friends from the local youth club, singing (yelling) Patricia the Stripper at the top of our voice. We all knew all the words! Yet it's only in recent years that I've really hooked on to all your music. So now I hope I get the chance to see you perform in my newly adopted (and fantastic) country - Canada.

Chris,
I was at your Melbourne concert last Feb. Coming from a very small town in another state you can imagine my joy to finally be able to see you live on stage. I was absolutely in awe of finally seeing you after so many years of enjoying your music. I and my friends will certainly be at your next concert, which I hope will be in the very near future.
Regards,
Janet.

Dear Chris,
I'm a fan for many many years, the last five years, I've no possibility to see you in a concert, because of money and the concert are to far away from Kiel. Now I see the new dates and all are in the south of Germany. What a pitty. :(
I hope you will many more albums and some time you come to Kiel.
