Hi just wanna say Chris thank you so much for a fantastic concert at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester it was the best night of my year, you were truly amazing. The only disappointment for me was I forgot my memory stick for my camera and after getting to the front row and seeing you so close I could not take one single pic. So if any of your wonderful fans out there have any pics they could send to me through my email I would be eternally grateful. Lots of love sue x My email address is hi_its_sue@yahoo.com thanks in advance and a great way to meet new chris fans.

Hi Chris:
Just a short note of thanks for all the years of great songs. The Tower may well be the best song ever written and you have many that have special meaning to me. When my Dad passed away recently we chose "The Same Sun" for his funeral. It hits hard and has deep emotional value. A great song but a very sad day. You're a wonderfully talented artist and I look forward to seeing you back in Ottawa some day soon.
Thanks.

Dear Chris,
lonesome sitting at my laptop, when the new tour-dates appeared. Russia! Oh I would like to be in a concert in Moskau or St. Petersburg with you! Press your thumbs that this will be possible, though it is just a dream to watch the towns with google-earth and reading about the history. Be careful Chris, Wikipedia tells, that these two towns are the dirtiest of Russian and they had had a lot of problems with health in the past. St. Petersburg the town of "Leningrad"! You are phantastic! I can learn so much about the world with only your concert-places just sitting in a warm room!
Thanks a lot, with love
Monika

Dear Chris de Burgh,
You and your songs were a great period in my life; full of nice memories and feelings. I was mad about your poems and songs when I was in high school and really lived with the humanity and kindness and the great feelings lied in your poems. (Of course still I am). I like you and your art very much. Today I had a return the my missed world of Chris de Burgh and experienced again "Missing you", "Tender Hands", "Suddenly Love" and many other songs. I had really good moments; Thank you !

Hello Mr. de Burgh,
I have been a fan for 30 years - since my girlfriend and I sat by the record player and sang along to your songs for hours on end. I still remember all the words from so many songs and have sung them to my children since their birth! We in Canada would love to see you perform again... Any plans for a Canadian leg of the tour? My girlfriend and I turn 40 in the coming year and though we live in different cities now, we would love to get together to see you perform. We haven't shared one of your concerts in many years. As you know Montrealers have always been your biggest fans! (A hint on the venue perhaps?)
At any rate, its very satisfying to have this opportunity to say thank you for all the lovely feelings your music has given me over the years.
Thank You, from a proud fan.

To Norah's mother in law, John.....
John, I am so sorry we weren't able to get a photo of Chris dancing with Norah during TLIR. We were up in the balcony at the back and it was not possible to take a successful shot.
Please tell Norah that was an amazing moment for the audience too...a very wonderful moment to watch and to share. We were all 'high on emotion' watching you - what a fantastic thing for Chris to have done - but hey, Norah - we are all dead jealous though!!!!
Our love and best wishes to Norah and I do hope someone else can help you.

Arian band in certainly one of the most favoured and also one of the most successful music band in Iran which despite all the obstacles and prohibitions , is obsolutly succesful . The nobel deed of this band is one other sign of their being different. The cooperation of Arian with the well known Irish singer Chris de Burgh is for sure one of the brilliant scores in their art background. It is evident that in the future we will enjoy their higher prosperities.I wish the bests for Arian and also dear Chris.

I took my Mother to see you as my lady friend let me down at the last minute. My mother really loved the show and was in tears with admiration for you many times during the show..She is due to go into hospital next week for a nasty operation so you just gave her a lot of happiness and hope for a whole evening in the for-run to it. Hi Chris,
Well first please let me say a big THANK You for 4 great concerts last week.
I really enjoyed myself, although I am now extremely tired!! Thankfully I do not start back to work until tomorrow morning (Thursday). I drove 1,300 miles in just 7 days and then took the train down to London for the Hammersmith concert, as I didn’t want the ‘hassle’ of driving through London.
While in Glasgow, Stewart and I were able to visit some of his relatives, so that was great, as we have not seen them for several years now.
That first show was great, and it was soo nice that you were back performing in the UK again:-) I have to say that in my opinion the shows just got better and better as they went along:-))) Manchester was a lot better than Glasgow, maybe that was because it was sold out and there were a lot of fans there, as of course Manchester is so central. And of course the Bridgewater Hall is such a beautiful venue. There were also a couple of really funny incidents that are still well in my memory from the Manchester show, one being the lady in the front row of the balcony as you did your LIR walk around bit, and then the lady right down in the front row that literally grabbed your face to kiss you as you made your way back to the stage!!! The balcony lady was just soooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bournemouth, I just knew was going to be the ‘jewel’ in the crown and it was !!!! The average age of the audience always seems to be a bit older down there, but my god they know how to have a good time!!!! And it was great that you mentioned your oldest fan Nora Batchelor again and danced with her as you done your walk about bit. I wonder if you remember the BIC from before, after all, you have been there several times in the recent past……..did you not notice how high the stage is there now? When I first walked in I though I was at Brighton, coz the stage was soo high!!! I wish they had left the stage as low as it was before, as I much prefer lower stages as the energy from you to the fans and the fans back to you bounces around a lot easier.
Hammersmith was a completely‘different’ venue. Although the show was very good, the venue needed much to be desired. It was old and very tatty looking. Even the stage was really old and in a poor state of repair, especially along the front edge of it. The one thing I did like about it was that it had a nice low stage !! Other than that, I can’t help feeling you would have been far better placed in the beautiful Royal Albert Hall. I wonder if maybe the RAH was not available for that night. I’m sure with full band you would have practically sold out the RAH. It is such a prestigious venue, unlike the Hammersmith Apollo. I even managed to catch a glimpse of Diane and the children in the audience at one point. Whow how the ‘boys’ have grown up!!
Only too soon the mini tour was over and it was time to say goodbye to friends again and then to finally drive Andrea back to Stansted airport, so she could fly back home to Germany.
The end of the tour was a really sad time for me, for several reasons, which I won’t go into here, other than to say I still feel really sad even now:-(
But at least we now know that there will be some concerts in Western Europe….or should we say Germany next year ;-))))))Please please announce the dates soon as all my staff are shouting at me that they want to book their annual leave for next year, and I’m stalling them for as long as I can, so I can get what I want first….well I am the boss!!! And I get no other privileges!!!
Ah well, once again thanks for 4 great shows, and Stewart and I will see you again in the Jasper Carrott show in the NEC in December. Whow what a line up of stars he has on that show …….and I don’t only mean you….sorry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m ‘Missing You’ already…..
Love and hugs as ever,
Chris(W)thebluehealer

Thanks to everyone who supported the shows. It was great to play the UK again with CdeB. Thanks to the lads too for allowing me to take over the stage with my gear and of course to CdeB for letting me near his songs. Always a pleasure.

Hello Chris,
i feel a little bit like the woman in your song "A dance of a gracer".Your songs i have heard this summer an d autumn five times in concerts were more than only songs for me, and now all is done and the winter comes. And i have gone away.Perhaps i will see you again in ten or twenty years again as an old rocking grandma. That´s a lovely ides, isn´t it?And then when the time has come , i will stand up ( that´s the best part of your concert), i hope in the first row and will be dancing for you.Thank´s for all your lovely songs. The most lovely concert was in the Apollo.
Thanks for playing and singing for the people.
God bless you and your family. Elke Augsburg

Hi Chris! Now I know you and Kristyna's time grows to an end...for now...I'm sure you WILL meet again as she has relished being with you and the band for the past year. Also 2006/2007 has seen her change from a Uni Busker,to a woman joined in marriage and also onto the full journey as an own artist in her own right and I would like to thank you for your personal help on this journey.I have thoroughly enjoyed the concerts I have attended-18th Nov 2006 which was Kristyna's first and also Arts On Ice for my 35th birthday treat with my best friend who loved it also.Thank you for making me a very proud Muso Parent and God Bless in everything you do in the future-I hope to be there!
As I said to Kristyna-'Don't Be Sad Because it's over,SMILE because it happened'!

Hi Chris,
did you have a good trip back home? My flight yesterday evening was a bit bumpy, but we arrived safely in Stuttgart where it was even colder as in London - but it was dry.
Thanks a lot for the fantastic concerts during this UK-Tour. I've enjoyed all very much and had a great time!!
It was a bit strange today to drive on the right side of the street... And my German is a bit "bumpy" as well after 10 days in Scotland and England with only talking English :-)))
Take care and see you some time next year - hopefully not too late.
Love and hugs,
Andrea

Hi Chris,
You'll have heard me for sure at Bournemouth and Hammersmith gigs? I do hope so ! LOL
Al Vosper was great for the warm up and his guitar playing for your Concert was something else.
Both concerts I attended were superb. Great having front row seats in Bournemouth yet also loved the front row circle at Hammersmith with 'The Gang'. Btw my husband and I were there 25 years ago when you played there last so Sunday was very special for us!
The Leader with the video footage by Steve Bennett sent shivers down my spine. It had the impact intended for sure. Amazing.
Could rave all night but will end now!
Looking forward to more news of the next Tour!
From the heart!

Hi Chris
Like Peggy, I also found your Bournemouth performance on Friday fantastic.
I have been a 'quiet, in the background fan' of yours for many years, but have never been to a show until recommended by Perry Hughes. It was truly amazing and knowing the story and background of the songs has brought all my CDs to life at home now. The band and supporting act were also superb,as were all the lighting and effects.I also loved the globe!
However, what has amazed me more than ever is that my husband is now a convert too. He was so impressed!
Wishing you all the luck in the world, Chris, and we will certainly come again!!

Still "High on Emotion" after concert in Bournemouth. Your songs brought 22 years of memories of listening to your music and concerts in Dublin flooding back. Just fantastic. The highlight of the concert for me was when you found 96-yr-old "Nora" in the audience and danced with her during the "Lady in Red". What a marvellous woman!! You oozed charisma as usual! Your strong anti-war message moved me and I hope it moves all the right people. Fabulous night! Many thanks.

Another fantastic night with Chris and his band! Hammersmith Apollo does not do you justice Chris. Electric, Fantastic, Touching, Amazing! Your voice and music are timeless and still bring me to tears with the tenderness in the lyrics. Once again your performance was worth the 4 hour flight to see you - will be at NEC in December too (how could I stay away) When will you pay a visit to Portugal or another concert in Dublin - the last one was amazing but long awaited.
Thank you for bringing your music to the world and long may it last.
Fondest wishes

Dear Chris, WOW!! what a brilliant weekend we have just had - Friday in Bournemouth was great but last night in Hammersmith was even better. Great that Al got a chance to perform some of his own songs and then for the next 2 and a half hours you and the band entertained us superbly. All our new favourites from The Storyman AND the all time favourites from past albums. Wasn't sure at first about LIR for your Britney bit but actually it works so well. So glad there has been advance notice of a tour for next summer - which will give us something to look forward to (and start saving for!) Hope you and teh family have a great Christmas and New Year. Your concert in Glasgow last Tuesday was very highly anticipated and EXTREMELY enjoyed. I brought along a friend who wasn't really familiar with your work. A couple of songs in, he began to recognise what he was hearing. By the end he was on his feet and very much appreciated the music and particularly the spiritual and political (with a small 'p') aspect of your songs. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I hope you will be in Glasgow in less than another 5 years. Best wishes to you and yours. J

wow wow wow
you're working with an iranian band!
every one here is happy that you're coming here.
but when i told anyone that you are cooperating with the arian band i felt that it was sadden to them that you are working with arian. because arian is low class
they asked me why are'nt you working with "alireza assar".
do you know him? his 5th album was recorded in london and was played by "London Symphony Orchestra". and all the tracks was written by "shahdad rohani".
do you know him? if you have seen the Acropolis concert of Yanni, the man who conducts the orchestra and plays violin is shahdad rohani.
almost everybody here knows that assar is the best iranian pop singer.
you are the first western singer that is cooperating with iranian singers. i suggest you be also the second one and contact alireza assar and begin a new work with him.

What a fantastic show. Chris and band still at their best. The transition from the ballads and stories to the rock style songs was fabulous. Bal Masque is absolutely awesome live, I have goosebumps now remembering it.
My wife Angela, was lucky enough to be in front of the stage and help lift Chris down from the stage and got a hug from him, at the end of the show when Chris walked through the crowd.

Greetings dear Chris
I was one of your fans since I was 11 and now I am 19.
I always knew that you would sing a song with an Iranian artist.
And I am so happy that you did that. But I thought that you would choose some better artists. I think Arian band was not the best choice. I always thought that you would choose AliReza Assar to sing with you.
You may think that I am not exciting that your coming to Tehran. That's just because I always knew that you're coming.
We are waiting for you. We all love you.

Dear Chris
Thank you for a brilliant evening in Manchester which was another reason for visiting Liverpool and meeting our 'CdeB friends' and many others (people in queues at the airport check-in, in radio station towers and the Naked Men!!!) A CdeB concert in the new Arena opening in Liverpool in January 2008 should be the reason for our next meeting...hint,hint,hint :-))
Hello to everyone who was there, even though we didnt get to speak to you all. Hi to Al and Kristyna and thanks for the photos and autographs at the End of a Perfect Day.

Dear Chris, what can I say, Manchester on Wednesday was just something else. We thoroughly enjoyed Glasgow and even though we were right at the back,we had a brilliant view, I was able to get up and dance without bothering anyone else and still managed to get to the front of stage at the end - mainly due to the lack of movement on the rest of the audience!! But Manchester, wasn't that just awesome, when I was down at the stage towards the end I could really hear the audience joining in which was magical, you must get a real from buzz from that and leave on a terrific high.
And haven't you been blessed with the weather this tour, they do say the sun shines on the righteous don't they. I just soooo wish we could be at Bournemouth and Hammersmith, but, lack of time, funds and "the house" just doesn't allow, but rest assured you will all be there in my thoughts enjoying yourselves. Thank you so much for "that kiss" which was the icing on the cake and then the big hug at the end, I will never forget those moments.
Thank you, thank you ,thank you, love always, Pauline "The Yorkshire Rose" XX.
p.s. I'll be dropping you a line with an update on the "home front".

You are the best singer in the world, I've been your fan since I was a kid and now I am soooo happy that I see you are singing a song with one of our good Iranian bands. I am sure it's gonna be very nice like your every other songs. I am proud as an Iranian that you sing with them. I've been to your concerts, it feels very good to hear your voice. We wish to have one of your concerts in Iran, you know you are the favorite singer of many many many of us in Iran.

Dear Chris,
I'm coming to your concert tonight in Manchester and looking forward to it so much. I've been coming for many years and you are always so brilliant and inspiring and always lift me up and make me feel so much better.
It is also very sad for me though as my mother died on the 14 July this year aged 95. She was a great fan of yours and came to concerts with me, although she hadn't managed to come for a few years. Her favourite song of yours was 'Missing You'. I miss her so much as she was also my best friend. If you read this before tonight could you possibly sing it for her as well? Her name was Phyllis. I still feel that she is close to me and will be there in spirit tonight I am sure.
Thanks

Getting very excited about coming to the concert in Manchester tomorrow. I have been coming to see you for 30 years now, and every concert is always the most fantastic experience. My husband is also a vey big fan, I don't thin I could be married to anyone who wasn' We met two people at one of the concerts in Kensington Gardens and have become really good friends with them even though they live in Kent, so far away from Bradford. Tomorrow will be the first time in 10 years that we haven'been at a concert together. They are going to Bournemouth on Friday.
Tomorrow will be special for us as we will be with four of our closest friends at home here. They have never been before so hope it will be as special for them as it will be for Ian and I, although am sure it will be.
Your music is such an inspiration and I thank you so much for that.

Dear Mr De Burgh
I have read parts of your letter "Christmas 1914" which you bought from Bonhams in 2006. It is the most beautiful piece I have read in relation to WW1. I have been asked to read at a Christmas service and have chosen the published extracts of the letter - having pieced together as much as I can find but I would like to put it all into context and was wondering if you would be prepared to send me a full transcript. I promise never to publish it. In these very troubled times, I think it poignant.
By the bye, my grandfather survived the Great War, my father was a product of home leave. He committed suicide in 1952, before I was born. I have often wondered if there was a connection, although I don't know where he served.
Yours hopefully,
Beatrice Bolton

Hello Chris,
Just to say that I hope that you and 'the Boys'are all fit and well and ready to go...!!
Thanks for choosing Bournemouth - it's one of my favourite places and it will be a special treat for me to see you there again. The Getaway Gang will be at Hammersmith - very near to home for us all.
You won't have forgotten that many fans are really waiting for that very special lady (though rather old now! LOL) to make an appearance.. PLEASE!!
Also did you take note of the audience response at the Alan Titchmarsh Show recently? Do we want TLIR at concerts? YES! (Please!) But I'd say that we (the regular Concert goers) are looking forward to your 'new' version ..!
I trust that you all really have the best fun on this forthcoming Tour.
See you soon!

Hi Chris,
Well its Friday evening now and I have just finally got home from my last day at work before the UK tour next week. The last 4-6 weeks at work have been 'pure hell', so I really need this week break I am about to start !! On Monday Stewart and I start the 7 hour long drive up to Scotland, well I drive of course, and Stewart just has to sit in the passenger seat and relax!! But first of all we have a Liverpool footie match to watch on Saturday. Lets hope they can do as well as they did against that Turkish team on Tuesday evening.....but I somehow doubt it!!!! And I need some well earned REST before the stress of the 'tour' ;-)You see even us as fans find all the travelling stressful!!
I wish you a safe journey to Scotland, and I really can't wait to see you again, I'm really really looking forward to it :-), even if we are not sitting next to our friends for the first night, we will be there supporting you from the second row !!!!! Roll on Tuesday night;-)
All my love and hugs as ever,
