First of all thanks for all the wonderfull songs you have given us.
What a gorgeous daughter too you must be proud, I have a 21 year old she lives in Scotland and not having her living with us anymore was a very hard thing to do, but she is doing well and has a nice boyfriend,think you just wish you could protect them for ever.
The whole family love your music and when on a campervan tour to Croatia a few of your CDs came with us.

Dear Chris, I enjoyed reading the two interviews with yourself and Rosanna at the weekend, it made me realise how much freedom I had as a 15 year old, like the times when I would go out to the night club in town until 2 or 3 in the morning before walking down to the taxi rank!! Although if I wanted my dad to pick me up it had to be at midnight on the dot as he had to be at work at 4am.So I had the freedom and the protection really.I suppose in the seventies it was a much safer time, I wouldn't dare do that now.

Good news is afoot, work starts on our house tomorrow(24 Oct),the decorator is booked, the carpet fitter is booked and delivery of the restored furniture is also booked. I'm so excited, maybe we will get a Christmas after all.

Hi Chris,
well it was nice to read the article from you and Rosanna in the Daily Mail Magazine yesterday. It was very interesting, and I had to laugh at a couple of things Rosanna said...well that's if she really said them and they were not taken out of context or made up as journalists like to do!!

Having grown up kids myself as you know, it was always really difficult to know where to set boundries and when not to be over protective....its a very hard job!!! But in my opinion it's sometimes better to be abit over protective and know that your kids are alive, safe and well.

It was awful when our eldest one left home to go to 'uni'. As we were saying goodbye, I was really upset and she was saying to me ' don't worry about me...I'll be alright'.....the exact words from 'Here For You'.....but she said those special words to me several years before we even heard the song!!

Well its just 3 weeks till my weeks annual leave now and I'll be enjoying that week off work, that's for sure...althought its going to entail rather a lot of driving.....but that's nothing new for me......and at least this time it will be in my own country and in my own car :-) !!!!

My husband, Mike died Dec.28th of bone cancer that paralyzed him for his last 2 months. I was honored to care for him thru the 5 yrs he struggled. Why I want to share this is that he chose to communicate to me with your song Lady in Red while I was in France last week. This trip to Nice was a celebration of my 7 closest friends turning 50, just as you did this month! As we sat in Le Max during disco hour, the wife of Max, sang THE song. It was an emotional moment to know that Mike is still with me, as he'd said he'd be.He had said this would be the song & I thank you for it. Love Terese

I have been a fan of yours for many many years and your songs give me inspiration and hope for the future!

I married 5 years ago after a long time alone and in the years that have passed I have introduced your songs to my wife who has fallen for your songs and lyrics too.

In those five years we have lost 2 twin boys Cameron and Alexander who were 1 and 3 days old when they died.

Our son Benjamin is 2 now, he was born at 24 weeks he lost a thumb had to have a heart operation and they had to operate again to remove partially dead intestines because he was so young at the time and he was in Gods Hands but we had our Miracle and he came through!

In those 16 weeks we attended The R.V.I we needed something to get through the heartache and pain and that something was your songs.

That little boy has been through so much no one in our life has been through more.

Without your songs we could not have made it through those Hard times

I thank you for being there in my heart, because Chris without your songs we would have not made it.

Your songs mean the world to me and my wife

About 15 years ago, when we lived in northern Europe we were picking a route to drive to Spain and, even in November, decided the best route was first to look for a small hotel by the coast in Normandy (there was only one open). The Calvados kept us warm against the biting winds as we walked along Juno, Omaha and Gold beaches. This year after the last Wallaby world cup game in France, we had to head north and this time chose our route to stay in Evian so that we could take a boat over Lake Geneva (the weather was perfect!). Dear Chris, well, it's bad news, the drying company have been this afternoon and we're still not dry, in fact we're no better than we were two weeks ago which means we carry on living in our "brick tent" until they come back and test us again in another two weeks.Can't help thinking Christmas is going to be cancelled this year. since the weekend I am very surprised from you. Many thanks. I'm just trying to play "When Winter Comes", well the weather in Germany is cold enough to do it. The lovely summerdays are gone and the films remind me to some wonderful moments of the year, when I had holidays with you, well you were working very hard with the band to my luck! By the way the melody on the piano to "A Grace of a Dancer" is very nice. My piano-teacher and I are just trying to play the violines of "When Winter Comes" to the piano-music and I think I will need time until Christmas to be able to play it in the full lenght. Time is sometimes running like a river, isn*t it? I found a CD from Eva Cassidy called "Songbird". Now I understand what you meant in Salem. I'm really very surprised at the moment. Dear Chris, July 25th my world as I knew it came to an end... My 3 year old daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin T cell Lymphoma. Cancer to be short. I still can't believe it and it still saddens me...

She was short of breath when we went to the hospital where it was discovered that a cancerous tumor had squeezed her right long flat and her airway 2/3rds closed. Turns out she was in immediate danger of dying.

Treatment was started and she responded well, the tumor vanished but the disease was still there. Chemotherapie was started in a 2 year program, but after the 5th chemo things went horribly wrong...

Varicella, Chicken pox was the diagnosis at the time. For a cancer patient, that is a very serious threat to life. And in our daughter's case it nearly killed her. The chicken pox opened the door for several other infections and caused her liver to stop working. She was transported in ugency to a specialised hospital where she stayed for 3 weeks. At that time no-one would have given her 24 hours. As I'm typing this we are in our 10th week of illness and in her 7th week of IC hospitalisation. She's a fighter alright. Just so unfair that a premature child that almost died after 8 days now has to fight for life again. So far she has cheated death twice...

Still there's no end in sight...it will be weeks before she's strong enough to again start fighting the cancer as the infections are now the focus. Basically she's now carrying two time bombs in her little body. We're hoping to difuse them both, if not, it's just waiting to see wich explodes first...the infections or the cancer.

Sorry to bore you with my story, but I'm a great fan of your music and it has been with me trough many troubles and joys...and this time even your music cannot console the huge sorrow and pain I feel inside... I'm empty from crying, fearing and fighting...

And if this is not enough, I'll have you now that this is not our first real missery, it's the latest and worst in a period of 7 years...

Don't know why I'm writing this actually... I guess I wonder what you'd say to a person like me... Who is fighting for his daughter's survival. Knowing you are an emotional person and a man good with words and with compassion for life. I don't know what to say anymore and I wonder if you do?

It's a shame my site is in dutch, otherwise you could have read Charlotte's story in detail...or have left a note in the "prikbord".

Thanks for letting me vent and I hope you personnaly do read this...I also hope that one day soon, your music will again be capable of consoling me of helping me trough life's up's and downs.

yesterday my girl-friend met you in a restaurant in Hamburg and asked you for an autograph for me. I was surprised to get it from HER. Thank you so much for it. I met you some times already and you were always very nice and patient with everybody. I saw a lot of concerts since 1982 in Hamburg (also as a support from Supertramp in the soccer stadium) and all over Germany and liked the ones of this tour the best. We (my husband and I) saw them in Hamburg last November and Hameln and Bielefeld this year (I was the one with the little irish flag). We wanted to come to the concert at Schloss Gymnich as well but that morning my mother-in-law died and we had to drive back home. Therefore we came to see the last one in the rain in Bielefeld. It was very special for us because a lot of songs like "Spirit" and "One World" reminded me of my mother-in-law and it was very emotional for us. The new tour was so good because of the great songs like the "Spirit" and the videos shown. Your music and lyrics accompanied my life so far, please continue your tours, I will always be a fan of your music!
