Dear Chris, 24 years ago I went to Ireland on a summer holiday(my parents were both Irish)and what a surprise I had a summer romance with an Irish boy! This was the summer I discovered your wonderful music as I cried many a tear over the boy when I had to go home while listening to "Lonely Sky". I think I put grooves in the record, I played it so much. The boy and I saw each other and continued our romance the following summer and by then I was probably one of your biggest fans.I have been to every concert you have performed in Toronto since that summer and I will be in the audience in Toronto on Nov 11 2005. The boy and I have recently reconnected after 18 years and it is wonderful to have your music to bring back so many wonderful memories and to start new ones. Thank you for sharing your talent and your heart with the world, Una

Hi chris

In few hours I will meet Dagmar und Steffi on sunday morning in Cologne, the place you like especially.
This the first time for me in this city we will share the best moments by foto and video on my website. If you seen it before I hope that you like but the next time in paris we want YOU at the Olympia hall again because The Olympia will be full

From My web site I help maybe some french to buy your record outside france, on cdeb.net or amazon.de, because on the shops it's very difficult to find your CD's. when I was young in 1993 in the paris stores all you CD's were present.

But it's not easy everydays and I speak about the french website to every one because it's a link to you because a lot of french don't understand the english like me because for most of the french I know you are the singer of High on emotion and Lady in red.

On TV there are many programs that talked about multimedia and internet especially on the morning. And I will give all my effort to YOU by mailing those Tv program and speak about you and said that you exist.

THANK YOU CHRIS FOR ALL YOU GAVE TO US

HELLO TO DAGMAR STEFFI HEIKE AND EVERYONE IN THE WORLD.

LAURENT

Steffi and I sitting at the pc and dreaming about what we would do if we could meet you in cologne someday:
We would take the SPANISH TRAIN and meet you at ST.PETERS GATE. Then we take a walk WHERE PEACEFUL WATERS FLOW at the BORDERLINE. Maybe we will have A NIGHT ON THE RIVER but not A RAINY NIGHT IN PARIS. THE ROAD TO FREEDOM will take us to PATRICIA THE STRIPPER after THE JOURNEY. AT THE END OF THE PERFECT DAY you will see WHAT YOU MEAN TO ME....

"Lady in Red". Keep up the good work,

Dear Chris,
The last time I signed your guest book was 3 years ago, I don't know why I haven't done it since than...probably cause i was too busy listening to your wonderful songs :))) Words aren't enough to describe WHAT YOU MEAN TO ME.Your songs are the most beautiful, emotional, expressive, intelligent and complexe ones I have ever heard. 5 years ago when you gave a concert in Bucharest on the 17th september(2000)I didn't imagine what impact it would have on my life. Now I'm 15 and my passion for you has only increased.A month ago I was in Germany where,to my great enthusiasm, I found the "Best Moves","Live in Dortmund" and "The Ulltimate Collection" CDs.I've been listening to them ever since.Next I was in Paris where I must have listened at least a 100 times to "A Rainy Night in Paris". I was walking on the "Champs Elysees",looking at the flowers and slowly singing to myself "We'll meet again in Paris when there are flowers on the Champs Elysees".Recently, in English class, we were supposed to express our agreement or disagreement to some statements by moving to the right or left part of the class. One of the statements was "Love can solve anything" and I was a little undecided until I remembered your lyric "There is nothing that a love can't heal"(She must have known) and realised that I fully agreed to the statement. It's just one of the many examples when your lyrics perfectly describe situations or feelings in my life.Meanwhile, I'm thinking of a question for the MotL,smart enough to receive an answer from you. I hope you read your guestbook, to realise how important you are and how happy you make me and so many other poeople around the world.
I also hope I'll get a chance to see you in concert again. It's one of my greatest wishes.
Never stop singing.You are amazing.

Missing you,
Eva

"Goldene Henne" - you did a great job!

Thanks to the list - I would never had

You made them sing with you (I think they didn`t know that they want to, before you told them!) -
you seduced them - like you always do.

It was nice to see you and your lovely smile again.

Just listening as I type to Lonely Sky from Spanish Train and other stories.

Have been a fan since day one, and have all of the earlier lp's on vinyl, and updated some to CD.

Will never forget the concert on St. Helen's Island (Montreal) for the Crusader tour.

See that Chris is touring in November in Canada, but alas not in Manitoba where I now live. My wife and I dream of hearing you again in concert. Til then, on vinyl and CD. Fondly remembering the Crusader tour with my old friends from Montreal, to be young again.

But although its just 1 year ago, it will take so long till we can see you again. Please Chris, don't take so long. Come back to germany soon. We need you. Your music is still a part of my life and shure a part of Dagmars too. In October we will meet Laurent from Paris in Cologne and maybe Tanja from Mainz too. Chris!

I have never left a comment before on a website, but you are my inspriation. I have just purchased tickets for your Toronto concert in November for my husband's 40th birthday. 20 years ago he took me to one of your concerts and I did not know who you were, but after that concert I was hooked. We have 3 girls and they also sing your songs at the top of their voices (one even did a project on you for her Gr. 6 class). Thank you for all of your beautiful music, the lyrics that are so meaningful, the concerts that you do and the memories I have made because of your music. Can't wait for Toronto.
Cheers,
Jacqueline

Hi Chris,

My name is Jim Martyn, as you may have gathered, and I'm merely the tender age of 18, but I have to say of all the singer-songwriter's that I've had the pleasure of listening to, you're by far my favourite.

Your writing is very unique, ever changing, and inspirational. I just started playing the guitar a few months ago, and also plan on taking vocal lessons.

One day, I hope for nothing more than to be able to write something that's one tenth as amazing as your works.

Anyways, I doubt you ahve time to read all these with all of your busy tour schedules, etcetera, but I hope to see you at your concert in Ottawa on the 12th of November. Until then, take care of yourself.

With appreciation,
- Jim

HI!
My name is Jean-Claude Rancourt. I teach English second language to French speaking kids in Lachenaie near Montreal. I always play a song from you at a certain period of the year and this period is almost there. I teach the kids the joy of understanding metaphores and what words of different songs might mean. "A Spaceman Came Travelling" is the song I play each year and I would like to know if, while in Montreal, you would pay us a visit at school. I and many kids would be gratefull!

Hi Chris,

no - I can`t cope with it.

It`s two months ago, we met after the soundcheck in Bonn (I was together with
Dagmar) and I still wonder why it took
so much time to get the rose out of the
paper and I still really don`t know why
I couldn`t say anything!
because you made me speechless...> ;-)

And I still remember the way you turned
around and said `and thank you for the
rose`.

...always missing you...

Dear Chris and other fans,

I listen to your music almost every day and I enjoy it very much. I recently bought your new cd Live in Dortmund and I think it is amazing. When I listen to it I can feel warmth between you and the public. I have been to two concerts of you in The Hague and Salem with my son (he is 12) and we both where very happy to be there.
I have a question about the cd live in Dortmund, can anyone write me what the public is singing at the end of Carry Me ?
Thank you for your lovely music.

Wow! Truth is I don't know what to say. I thought I knew your work from years ago but after I have really listened to some of your albums, I can say now I know your work. I am amazed at the depth in your music. Lyrically and musically your songs are beautiful. What captured me the most was your stance on faith and how important it is to you. I had no idea that you were a Christian. That gave me a new found respect for you. I really enjoyed the "Road To Freedom" CD. It showed a real maturity and tenderness in the writing. I pray that you will continue to record new CD's because in this time of need, especially with such distasteful music, it is refreshing to know someone has something kind but thought provoking to say. Keep up the good work and God bless!

Hi Chris,

Ich liebe „The End of a perfect Day“, „Crusader“, The Getaway“ und „Spanish Trains“. Mit “Road to Freedom” werde ich ehrlich gesagt nicht glücklich. Ich hoffe einfach auf das nächste Album.

Mach weiter wie bisher und vergiss Deine Wurzeln nicht.

Ich liebe Deine Musik

Hi Chris,

you are wonderful. I have grown up with your music. I have inherited my love to your music from my brother. In 1992 I have bought to myself the first album from yourself. It was "Power of Ten " and at that time quite anew. Today I own all albums of you. However, still today " Power of Ten " pulls me in a quite special spell. It is different, than all the other albums. Unfortunately, your fans were held out for a long time with Best of

lets put it this way. You have had a vast impact on my life, helping me to stick to my goal of raising the eleven thousand I need to build a mother and baby unit in Cameroon.

Dear Chris de Burgh,

it is not long ago, when I could meet you in Germany in a concert this year. I'm just sitting at home, hearing my new CD's from you. I found so much from you after this day in Salem and I'm happy about it, very happy.

With your lyrics and answers in the MOTL I can learn more English words. I like it when you talk to the audience in your language. Don't translate the lyrics in German language, please don*t do it! They would loose all the emotions which can only be spoken in English to me.It's so fine, when you talk about anything to the audience and I enjoy that I slowly can understand you more and more.

Here on my laptop it seems that here is growing up a relationship in my mind to you and your songtextes only through your lyrics. I can see much pictures of your life in webpages here and that is new, because I have never seen so much about you before. I really would like to meet you more often, but I never know where I can find you when you are in Germany.

Sometimes I'm searching for a way to get a direct line between my laptop and yours so that we could talk together and get aquainted. Maybe this is a funny thought of mine and I hope I don*t make you angry with this letters to you. I will wait for your answer and take the time to learn more to use the English language in my thoughts for you.

Where could you be this day in the world? And what are you doing till your Tour to Canada in November?

If you want to answer do it. You can be sure that I will be happy to hear from you as soon as possible.

One of your new strangers from the other side of the world in dream to meet you again.

Monika Maid

Hello Chris

Today, 9 September 2005, is the 10th Anniversary of the Beautiful Dreams Concert in Birmingham. It really only seems like yesterday and that is probably beacuse I have almost worn my video out, having watched it so many times. Now I have the DVD version and am about to watch it again, with a glass of red wine in my hand. And the best part is, with the rewind button, I get a kiss from you again and again and again and again.

With Love and all the Yellow Roses in the world.

Chris, I love you so much, no matter where you are at the moment, at this very moment, right now, where you are reading, just think of me and receive my waves of love. Can you feel them? A warm feeling in the soul?
Thank you, Chris.

Hi Chris,
I just had to look for a website about you, I was glad when i finally found one. Anyway, i mst this guy and we are dating i guess, and on our first phone conversations we were talking about music and he asked me what my favorite song was and i said it's kind of an old song but it's Lady In Red. He asked why that song, i told him it makes me happy because of the memory i have of it from HS. And of couse he wanted to know what it was. So I told him that all through the 9th grade i was in love w/ this popular guy ( i was popular but not like Shawn) Shawn, and all i wanted in the world was for him to ask me to the dance...anyway he didn't, asked michelle to the dance, so I turned down everyguy who asked me waiting for Shawn. Well anyway this guy kind of a nerd didnt have a date, so i asked him to the dance. I wore the prettiest red strapless dress and my hair all swooped up and make up and heels, my dad had to tell him to stop drooling. So Bobby takes me to the dance we take our pictures, and stand by the wall and talk, he was to shy to dance. Anyway I see Shawn (alone) he walks up to me to tell me how hot i looked and could't beleive it was me. right in front of my date, Bobby felt like such a fool knowing i was in love with Shawn. while i was standing there inbetween Bobby my date and Shawn my love...guess what song comes on??? You guessed it Lady In Red...Shawn puts his hand out and asks me to dance. I look him in the face and say, I think i will dance w/ Bobby...and I danced w/ Bobby to your song....needless to say, it turned out to be a wonderful evening. So anyway here we sit about16 years later and i am divorced and about to go on my first date since the divorce and PJ shows up to pick me up and instead of flowers he has a home made CD and the first song on it is Lady In Red. I play it all day long at work and smile about all my old and new memories..I guess i just want to say thank you Chris for all the memories old and new.
Monique :)

My dream has been for many years, since 1986,to have the chance to see you in concert.Whenever life gets me down I listen to your music and it helps me to escape into another world and always brings a smile to my heart.I have very fond memories of being introduced to your music and plan to share the joy with my children as they grow.I cannot put into words the happiness I feel about your songs but can assure you I will continue to listen as long as possible.

Hi Chris, I guess it is a good opportunity to sign your guestbook once again. It is nearly 3 a.m. now and I can´t sleep. Many things go through my mind. And the best thing not to think too much about everything is to listen to your music. I hope to get some sleep, while I listen to your CD "Beautiful dreams". I especially love the songs Carry me, Girl and The snows of New York on that CD. Okay Chris, gotta go for now, because I have to get up at 6:30 a.m. and get to work. Thank you for your great music. Hope to see you here in Germany again soon. I just loved the concerts in Beverungen (it was my 26th birthday) and Schwetzingen. Thank you and may God bless you and your family. Good night, Jasmin
