Dear Chris,

I agree completly with Inas guestbook entry: thank you for the last weeks. I only want to add that my boys Lukas and Ruben were very deep impressed and now they are infected with her mothers *chrismania*. They always smile when they look at the photos showing you and them together at the stage. I'll take them with me to Croyden and London and now they count the weeks till then. You've said it in Bamberg....here is the second fan generation....

We wish you and your family a wonderful summer.
Best wishes
Heike, Lukas and Ruben

Hi Chris,

well...the tour is over now, with a big "surprise" for us in the end.
"Thanks" for the fantastic time we all had over the last 3 months. Just remember the beginning of the tour in May in Braunschweig and then it went on and on and on...I have never done something like that before, but it was great fun and a new experience in my life that I will never ever forget. I will miss the tour feeling and my friends Andrea and Chris W., and of course all those, who did this tour with us.
At least we even saw Hubie playing the guitar, and it was great to see how much you care for him while having him on stage. He is a real good guitar player, and I hope he will go on like that. You can be proud of him, and he really is a friendly young man.
It is a strange and unknown feeling , to be thrown back into normal life after all. It was so far away all the time...the real end of the Tour...But in the end, it was worth all the money and the time we spent. And we also got something back...the energy, the fun and the good feeling that came down from the stage.-)
I will go for a "real" holiday next week. I think I need it after all, but I will keep all the memories, and it will take me a long time to go back into normal.

That reminds me of my favourite quotation :

" Give every day the chance to become the best of your life. And don't give up on your dreams. When they are disappeared you will exist further on, but you have stopped living "
by Mark Twain.

Take care, relax and have a good time ...until we all meet again...soon, I hope :-)

Love and Hugs
Dany

Hi Chris-Fans,

I was at the concert in Altusried this weekend. And I must say, it was the best concert I ever been.

Chris is a wonderful man with a wonderful noice. His son can play gituar like an angel. It was his debute in Altusried (Germany).

I got the ticket for the concert from my friend for my birthday at July, 26th.

The concert was wonderful. I hope I can see him once again.

Thank you Chris for being here in Germany.

I'll be your biggest fan. I love your songs and your voice. You and your family are wonderful.

I hope till soon.

Greets

Dear Chris!
Now it is over... Emmendingen was the last show of this tour in Germany and it was hard not to cry while you sang "Snows of New York"... But we will not start this guestbook-sign with the end...
Heike started her journey (which brought her through Germany from north to the south, more than 2000 km this time) on thursday, she and her boys Ruben and Lukas stayed for the night at my (Ina) home and on friday we picked up Jutta. Then we started the long journey to Altusried. We had much fun together on our journey, laughed a lot and we were so happy that we could see you in concert in the evening again!
The show in Altusried was great!!! We hope you could smile about "our road to freedom", it took some hours for me to construct these car "Rufus travel service" ;-). Seeing you singing together with Hubie was fantastic - he is a great guitar player and we enjoyed this part of the show very much!
Too fast the concert was over - wow, what a night! The weather was great in the evening and we were still "high on emotion" from dancing and singing in front of the stage! Ruben and Lukas, Heike´s twins where happy that they could sit on the side of the stage - they had much of fun, too (it was their first concert)!
It was about 3 a.m. when we fall asleep, we talked and laughed and talked and laughed and talked and laughed... ;-) and did not want to go to bed.
After a short night we drove from Altusried to Emmendingen and checked in at our hotel. About an hour and some refreshing showers later we met with Ela and her daughter Jacqueline (it was her first concert, too) near the venue. In the venue we had something to eat and to drink, we enjoyed the nice weather, talked and laughed, met other listmembers again and time went by very fast. And - thank you Chris, that you signed our shirts :-)!!
Then the concert started and we enjoyed every minute of it, singing and clapping hands, laughing about your jokes, it was again an evening full of joy! We hope that you like our calendar! The story about the flowers we gave you with the cards we cannot tell you... but it was very funny and these little flowers were something special... *g*
Again we enjoyed to see you together with Hubie and than dancing in front of the stage - it´s always great to hear and sing "Read my name" and we are proud to read our names! As you started singing "Snows of New York" it was hard for me (not only for me) not to cry - I like it so much when you sing your party songs after this but this time I felt pain in my heart to know that we cannot see you in concert for long time. It was hard to enjoy the last songs - this last part of the show was great as usual but also sad. Thank you for singing "Hey jude" together with Hubie, it was a special end of the show and it touched our hearts!
After the show we talked a little bit, had a cold drink to cool down and soon it was time to leave the venue. Jutta and Ela with Jacqueline had to drive home this night for more than 400 km, Heike with Ruben and Lukas and I stayed in the hotel for the night and started driving home on sunday. We all met together in the afternoon in Rheinbach with Ela and Jutta, with our husbands and children for finishing the weekend with a barbecue-party. All children were in a good mood and had fun - they made a big water-battle and our crazy weekend finished with seeing all our laughing children jumping in the pool with clothes...
It was a weekend with much effort, we drove more than 1300 km together, sat about 20 hours in the car - but all time we had fun and so enjoyed every minutes as friends together. All children who went with us to the shows in the last weeks are full of enthusiasm now and want to see you again. Maybe, one time, we can manage to bring them all together with us to one of your shows!
Thank your for the last weeks!
It´s hard to wait until November...

All our best wishes to you from
Ina, Ela, Jutta and Heike
with children

Dear Friends,

I had the privilege to attend my first Chris de Burgh concert in Zürich this Sunday and from what I experienced there, it makes me proud to be part of the most wonderful bunch of people: Chris de Burgh's fans are definitely the best!
Just as his music is the finest thing to listen to on a warm summer night.

Thank you, Chris, for giving this concert, and thank you for your promise of returning soon on another tour.

There is but one thing that will make the experience even better: please allow us, allow your fans to bring cameras to the concert. Though the memory of your voice will never fade, a picture means so much to us.

Salut !

Hi,

I just want to thank Chris de Burgh for all the great music he has provided me with. I have been a fan of his since I was 6 years old, and I even done a special dance to his song Lady In Red on my mum and dad's wedding day. I really love his St.Peter's Gate song and I really love him basically.

Anyway, here's to many more years of Chris de Burgh!

hi,
I just wanna mention something that i think that's very important for your success, of course this is my opinion.
But i believe that the important thing that attracts people to your songs, is your nice and meaningful lyrics that i really love them.
For example, at least in my country, the songs like "Patricia the stripper" are not popular, because i think its lyric is somehow weak.
Instead, Saint pater's gate, Missing you, Carry on, Lebanese night and so on are so popular.
At the end i wanna mention that, anyhow, you have many many fans here in Iran, as you can see in your guestbook.
Thank you for your attention,

Thank you so so so so much for you wonderful music. I absolutely have to listen to it every day and I know most of the words of almost all the songs I have off by heart. I've only known your music for about 2 years but I love it so much. No one can write and sing music like you can. You have such a special way of doing it. It's magic. I hope that some day I will have the honour of meeting you or even seeing one of your concerts. It would for sure be the turning point of my life.
Keep singing!
Love your music!

Dear Chris,

on Thursdy last week I saw you on TV in 'Greatest Hits'. I was very happy to see you again after
having attended several of your 'intimate evening concerts' this year in Germany and Switzerland.
I couldn't help singing in front of my TV together with you. And I still have to smile each time
when I remember your amazing shows. Your beautiful songs often spin around in my head for days and
that's a really good feeling.
On TV on Thursday you seemed rather relaxed. Here I would like to agree with
a previous entry of Chris W. in the guestbook that you seemed the more relaxed the longer the tour last.
In the concert in Nürnberg, you were very spontaneous giving a short ad hoc contribution of the
'Perfect Day'. Thank you! Thanks also for so many additional songs at the end of the concert!
The new versions of 'It's me' with sole piano, and the more lively versions of 'Sight and Touch'
and 'Night in Paris' (which is one of my favourite), I love them very much, maybe you could put
them on your next CD?
The song 'It's me' even made me buy the 'Love Songs' album the next day. But sorry to say, your
actual live version of this song is still better than the version on CD
(though the CD version is also very good, of course!), because the piano supports your voice in
the live version in a more sensible way, I think.
(Your voice seems live even stronger than on CD: 'listen..., It's me, and I'm ready to go, ....',
simply great!)

By the way, I find it an excellent idea to walk through the audience singing. The people (incl. me)
were rather surprised and excited (maybe a little bit embarrassed tough) to meet you so closely.

The story you mentioned that could have happened before 'Lady in red' always reminds me of the song
'Two sides to every story' which you sang together with Shelley Nelson. This could be a conversation
in the car when driving to the party, couldn't it?

Well, after watching you again on TV I fear that I quickly have to organize a further visit for me
of one of your last openair concerts in Germany, it's that special CdeB spell, you know,.... :-)
maybe in Emmendingen ...

All the best for you, take care

Gabi

PS: Greetings to Gabi from T. too. See you!

Dear Chris,
I am a very big Fan since I can remember. Maybe you can remember the day when you were playing tennis with my racket at the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt/Neu-Isenburg? It is around 15years ago. Your music is gorgeous and your CD´s are getting more and more beautiful. I am so sad, that I am too late with buying the VIP tickets for your Dortmund concert. Is there any possibility for two more VIP tickets? This event would increase the evening at the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin from last year.
All the best to you. Hope hearing you soon...

Hi Chris,

well another week with 4 fantastic concerts is over now and it is time to say a big "Thanks" again, for all the fun and joy we had while being all together.
Sadly I had to do the Mettlach one without my friends..."solo".-)...and I know that Chris W. and Andrea were sititng at the airport very, very disappointed at that time. But,be sure two times they had a big *grin* on their faces and joined me...hehe...that's what friends are for.
It was a very "wet" week for we have this real bad and strange summer here in Germany. Just remembered your big *grin* from the stage in Mosbach seeing us standing in the pooring rain completely wet, while you were standing dry on your stage. But as you see, we can also have fun while dancing in the rain...no problem at all.-)

You really had a busy week with 5 concerts and a TV show within 7 days. So, I hope that you'll find some time to relax again now, and that you'll be back for the last concerts in a good mood.See you there, to make the party start again...

Please take care till then
Love and Hugs
Dany

Dear Chris!

230 km from Mettlach to Rheinbach, four hours sleep and than 450 km from Rheinbach to my hometown.....extremely tired I got home. But your concert in Mettlach was worth the trouble, like always. My kids immediately recognized the well known big smile on their mothers face. Once again a fantastic concert, a fantastic *A Rainy Night In Paris*. (I know you can’t sing it twice on a concert and so I hope for the DVD to hear it so often I want it). Thank your for another great evening but only one thing: our little fellow, the teddybear was a little bit disappointed. Why couldn’t I go with Chris, he asked and I answered him: I don’t know, but perhaps anytime we will find out und you’ll get a second chance.

Best wishes
Heike and the teddybear

Hello CdeB-Fans!
I'm so much looking forward to the concert in Dortmund/Westfalenhalle.
I know, the poeple, who have bought tickets with "meet & greet" in the first row certainly are crazy enough to read this guestbook regularly, just as I do. So perhaps I now already have the opportunity to find out, who will be my seatneighbours at the 6.11.2004. Perhaps you can write it to me over this guestbook.
My seat is: Parkett Nord, Reihe 1, Platz 3. It would be nice to get to know you before the concert.

Hello Chris!
First of all, congrats to you and your daughter for her being crowned Miss World! She's truly a beauty!Secondly, I would like to say that your performance at the arab "Star Academy" in Lebanon was fantastic! Loved it! It's a shame you won't be at any of the festivals in Lebanon such as 'Beiteddine', 'Byblos', etc... this year. I hope you will perform here sometime soon and if so, I can garauntee you that it will be one of the biggest concerts of the year!

Hi Chris, at first: my english is not very well! I just came from my hometown METTLACH, where you've played from 20:00 till 22:35 p.m. today.
I am a 19 year old boy and i hear a lot of music, but normally not "chris de burg" .... but i must say, the PARTY (it was not a concert, that were your words) was VERY cool! I like you & your music .. and your daughter like a lot of other guys do :-) Hope that you come to Mettlach (or the Saarland) again. Greetz

Hi Chris!
I want to say "thank you" for the wonderful evening in Benediktbeuern. Your prayer worked and it did not rain. We went 700 km just to visit your concert. My mother-in-law (74)has been learning English for some years and before the concert I printed some lyrics for her and said: "Learn them by heart so that you can sing with Chris!" She tried hard :-) and had her sheets of paper in the hand during the concert. When we came back to our holiday flat, she was sooo happy and proud of herself and she said: "I understood all he said and sang and that is it worth to learn English - to sing with Chris all his wonderful songs." You can imagine that she hardly spoke German with us the last days.
I just wanted to tell you that you made us very happy and we love your songs.
Lots of love for you and your family from Bea and Gertrud
and thanks for all the additional songs

Thank you for being a wonderful part of my life and giving us your music and words! Please go on to share all this with us and good luck to you and your family!

Chris,

I attended your concert in Mosbach last night and it was terrific – dispite the rain. My 16 year old son has gave
the tickets to us as a wedding anniversary gift which he had saved from his allowance. He knew that we were big fans of yours and thought that the tickets were a perfect gift - it was worth every cent.
We shall be on the lookout for upcoming concerts of yours in our area and when you come back, we'll be sure to come.

Wish you even more success. Germany loves you!

Regards

Gerda & James

Dear Chris,

I think you know how very talented you are because you never fail to write great music. I saw you in Edmonton in 96-97, and although I've been to many, many concerts since I was 13, your concert was a blast! I live way out of Edmonton, and I just arrived that night at my sister's when I heard the annoucement on the radio that your concert was to start in like 2 hours. My sister lived 40 minutes from the Jubilee Autitorium where you were performing and by the time I found my friend to meet me there, we had like 10 minutes to spare. Anyways, we bought our tickets at the door, my friends birthday gift to me, and ended up sitting on the back row of the balcony. I think it was like after your first song you asked for requests. And, of course, everyone wants theirs choosen. Between the many shouted requests and the excitement I found stragedy. I waited until the crowd hushed for your response and in a long and loud voice I bellowed from the last row on the balcony "Lonnnnely Skkkky". The crowd started up again, hushed again, and I again bellowed "Lonnnnely Skkkky". You remarked something about if I was o.k. up there. Well, about 4 or 5 songs after, and to my amazement you introduced Lonely Sky and said "It's for the girl on the balcony". When you sang it, it never sounded better. A few songs after you were telling us a story about Elvis, and had asked the crowd "Do you know what Elvis said when he was in Vegas?", again, amongst the hushed crowd, I just couldn't resist, and in my best Elvis voice, not easy for a woman, I yelled "Thank you, thank you very much". You roared, the crowd roared. It was awesome. I wasn't trying to blow my own horn, things just happened. But, you know, of all the concerts I've attended, till I'm old and grey, never will I forget that one. It truly was a memorable birthday. Thanks to you.

Geraldine Wilde

P.S. Your music is still great, and not that I expect it, but, do you ever respond to your guestbook personally? And, if you do, how does anyone know it's you and not a fan club dude?

Hi Chris,

back on the road again...was great to see you in Ingolstadt yesterday. A great Open Air show, and we were lucky that we had at least "normal" temperatures and only a few clouds in the sky. So hopefully it is going to be like that in the next 5 days. Think you should go on with your prayers for dry weather...every morning now...!

Thanks for being back in such a good mood, we know what we all missed in the last 2 ½ weeks...the energy that comes down from the stage...and the being "high on emotion".
Keep going on like that...so that we’ll have more open air partys in the next days, with lots of fun and dancing...as always, while being on tour this year..
:-)

Please take care while travelling around...
Love and hugs
Dany

bonjour Chris,
