Dear Chris,
I thought I would take this opportunity to thank you for your music. My husband, a Canadian, introduced me to your music in high school, and I have been a devoted fan every since. In an age of rap, pop, emo, etc., my children are learning to appreciate music from the soul, something that doesn't come along all that often. And Christmas would not be the same without The Spaceman, it's my favorite holiday song.
Bless you and your music.

Thank you!
Melissa Cowan

Chris..

Your music always seems to appeal to the innermost part of me.. its association with certian events in my past always keeps the memory of who i am and where i have come from alive..

Thankyou..

I especially like "Lebanese Night".. its a shame the words of the song ring so true.. i pray that our past is a learning experience for our future.
God bless..

Jamil.

Hi Chris!

It´s all a little bit crazy at time - when I knew about the new tour I bought my 3 tickets for Münster, Düsseldorf and Cologne. Then the second Cologne-Show with my little son René followed... After that I got the ticket for Bad Brückenau and now, about a week ago I decided to book Altusried together with Heike and Jutta. Two days ago we added the show in Emmendingen... we all wanted to see your last show in Germany this summer! In Emmendingen we will meet Ela and her daughter - and I´m so happy that we can stay again together at your show! It´s since about 15 years the first time that I make a holiday without someone of my family - so something very special for me. I´m looking forward to this days and I´m happy, that I could make it possible! I think, these days will give me power for a long time and rembering the last shows and the fun we had makes my smile bigger and bigger ;-)! It´s like Heike wrote "You are the reason..."

Take care and all the best!
Ina

This is a wonderful website! When Mr. de Burgh is at home and answering questions on MOTL I visit everyday.

Enjoy also the Guestbook. All the wonderful comments from fans who have been to recent concerts make me envious since I'm so far away and not able to go.

Perhaps Canada will have another visit for concerts in the not too far future.

Hi Chris - After loving you and your music for years, I have at last been to my first Chris De Burgh Concert - Bamberg Dom Platz 19.06. I can't believe how warm you made us all feel on such a cold night. I left a sunny warm England with sandals and summer clothes, to find myself barefoot and freezing in Bamberg ROFL. But you lit my heart and spirit and I can't remember the cold. Such a wonderful evening spent with you, my friend André and all of the other C d B fans. Godbless you and I hope to see you soon in England. Love Maggie xx

Dear Chris!

I only can repeat what I've said in my further entries:

You are the reason....

and to add that I had so much fun with Juttas daughter Julia, the little Lady, taking her with me to the stage to give our little presents to you. Julia enjoyed the concert as we did (You've noticed this?) and I'm sure, your concert in Bamberg was the beginning of a new *CdeB fan life*.

And now: what could we do? We have to wait till July.

Once again thank you for another great evening.

Take care

Heike

Dear Chris,
I listen to your new album very often and one of my favourite song is "Songbird". Could it be, that you have written this song for Eva Cassidy??? It is wonderful, to hear your voice, soft and gentle and I feel so calm.
Thanks for all your wonderful poems, cause your songs are more than jaust lyrics.

Hiya Chris,

Whow, Bamberg...well, again a fantastic show and a very special venue. The last concert of the June part ( he,he nothing can ever exceed the "girls only –week" !! ), and although it is now over for more than two weeks, it was a perfect end for us :-)...with another new experience: after "frozen at the side of the lake", we had then "frozen at the side of the Dome"...Brrrr,was again very cold outside( hopefully not the usual CdeB Open-Air temperatures for the future now ) and it must have been very hard for you playing the guitar and piano in temperatures like that. Was even hard to clap with cold fingers...But being in front of the stage so early brought us back to the "warmer" open air feelings. The so called "summer" in Germany is not always as it should be. But as you saw, we can also cope with that, but hopefully it will be a bit warmer in July for the next Open Air session.

Thanks again for all the great concerts ( he,he lots of them :-) ) and the joy and happiness we felt over the last 5 weeks. As already mentioned, I’ll never ever forget a single day :-) .
Lucas/Zill Travel Tours are on holiday now, or better back to their normal jobs...until we have to "work" again, exclusively for Chris W., the roaming CdeB reporter...

So, I hope you can recover now, and you’ll find some time to relax. We all know how hard it is to do such a tour, especially while playing solo every night.

Please take care of you, until we all see us again in July for the next part.I‘m sure with lots of fun...as always -:)
I already miss the special tour feeling.-(

Love and Hugs, with a big *grin* :-)))

Dear Chris,
thanks for the wonderful concerts in Nürnberg and Bamberg yesterday evening. Especially for "Sailor" and the other old songs. The concert in Bamberg (19.06.2004) was my 17th concert and perhaps the best. I sang only 4 words "save me, save me" in your head-microphone...and I thought I´m in heaven. I was so surprised but fortunately not speechless. Thanks for this special moment. I can not believe that this happend to me.
You give so much. Carry on.
I wish you all the best,

Dear Chris,

here I am again. Your concert in Düsseldorf is now already 4 weeks ago, and I hardly manage to listen to other CDs than your ones. After some songs of another album or actual chart-music I always stop it and listen to one of your albums instead. And because of you having published so much already it's never boring. One day I prefer listening to a new album, another day to an older one.
What can I do to get normal again? I think nothing! Perhaps I'll get normal again after your concert in Dortmund (6.11.), but I doubt it!!! I've a ticket for the first row and I'm wondering, what will happen to me before the show with the "meet + greet"-ticket!!!???!!! Besides I wonder, if your concert in the Westfalenhalle will be different from the previous concerts. You've only choosen small venues for the "intimate shows", but the Westfalenhalle is a big hall!So the atmosphere will be not so intimate, I think!!!!! Besides it's the last concert on your tour, as far as I know now! So you can play and sing for us untill you're totally exhausted and then you've free to relax!!!
If I could wish a song you could sing for me that evening, it would be "American pie". I saw you singing it on the Volendam DVD, and it's so good! I also like to play it on my guitar. I'm not a good guitar-player + singer. I learned playing the guitar only by myself and also sing only for myself, when I'm in a mood to do so. The wish to be able to play your songs also made me go on learning and practicing. Sometimes I can't stop singing a whole evening, and in the summer, when the windows are open my poor neighbours have to suffer the whole evening!!!!!
So the words: "What you mean to me", which I sung with you, while you were standing in front of me (in Düsseldorf, on your round through the audience) really were true. Your music and songs are a part of my life.
Do you want to know, what my old friend and classmate and I (34 + 35 yrs. old) did this evening? We celebrated a little "After Concert Party"! And we're already planned the next one!
Well, 3 friends of mine and I had been at your concert in Düsseldorf (22.5.), and we'd planned to meet and watch my videos + DVDs, which I have of you. I had recorded nearly all your TV-appearences since 1 1/2 years.
Because of you we keep in touch more often now in order to find a date for that "After Concert Party" for example, or when we were planning to buy tickets for Dortmund.
Unfortunately we didn't manage to find a date for all of us, so tonight there came only my old classmate for that video-evening. The others will visit me next time. My classmate and I always stayed in cantact, but we never phoned or mailed as often as we do this nowadays, when we make CdeB-plans. So it's good, that we have YOU!
I must say, that it was difficult to find someone to accompany me to your concert (Dortmund, 6.11.), because of the high prices of the seats (in the front: meet + greet). First 3 of us 4 wanted to go together and sit in the front again, but after knowing the prize my classmate decided to stay at home and my other friend tok a place in the 1st cat (row 7). So we 2 don't even sit together. But that doesn't really matter. I think the other fans next to us are also as CdeB-crazy as we are, and when you start singing we anyway don't have eyes nor ears for the people sitting next to us, but only for you!!!
Well, after our video-evening my classmate will try to get a ticket, too, because she was new infected with the CdeB-fever! So weÄll have 3 seperated seats!!!!!

We especially enjoyed the "Höchstpersönlich" TV-report about you in the ARD yesterday (18.6.). It was nice to see parts of your tour again! Did you really play that new composed song about "always saying goodbye" for the first time and did you develope it just in that moment? It's hardly to believe!
Also the old films of little Rosanna on the slide in your garden and the old private photos were very interesting to see! I'd like to see much more TV-reports like this one!
I must say, that since your last concert I'm even more crazy than I was before, so I tell everybody how great the concert was and how symphatic you are and I show everybody - if he wants it or not - the photos I took of you! So I didn't wonder, that yesterday afternoon, when "Höchstpersönlich" just had started, my phone rang and my parents' neighbour just said: "Turn on your TV, you star is there!" Wasn't it neat of her!?! She didn't know, that I of course had been looking forward to 16.00 p. m. the whole day and even was recording the report!
Well, I think now there come some calmer times for you (not too much tour-dates at the moment), so I hope you've a bit time to relax!
Best wishes, and don't forget "American Pie" in Dortmund.
Have a nice summer!!!

Love,

Doris

Hi Chris,
your concert in Hamburg at the MARKTHALLE was brilliant. It was great to see you - just you and your guitar and piano. It´s hard to believe that the you played for 2 hours and 45 minutes - for me it seems like one hour or so ;-). I think nobody can bring more power on stage without a band like you. My favorite songs from the concert were "It such a long way home" (never heard the song live in a concert), "A raily night in Paris"(never heard the song playing by guitar), "Living on the island", "Tha same sun", "Save me"... and many, many more.
I hope you will come back in the near future - if with band or without. Nobody is better than you live on stage. Thank you so much. Until next...

Dear Chris,
thank you for two wonderful – very different – concerts in Munich and at
Herrenchiemsee.

In Munich in the philharmonie it was warm, homelike and I enjoyed your
show with jokes and a lot of music.
Two weeks later at Herrenchiemsee first everybody had to work with its
rain jacket because of rain and cold wind, then dancing helped getting warmer.
Nonetheless the concert was great and everybody was having fun.
Also going home by ferry (without paying the ferryman) on midnight was
very romantic.
It was my fifth concert of you – thanks for the good music.
Perhaps see you in November.

Hi Chris,

well, as already mentioned below, the second part of our tour is over now...sadly :-(...he,he was the funny "girls only week "..and, as always, it is very hard to go back to normal.
I want to say a special "Thank you", and can only point it out again that it is because of you and your music that we all met. Thanks for giving us the chance to make so many beautiful memories...dancings in the park, living on the island, frozen at the side of the lake...brrr..( was really cold in the beginning, but at least we could perfectly cope with the temperature shock while dancing in front of the stage ),seeing the sun always shining when we were on our long ways to the next venue ...and I also have my own company now together with Andrea...Lucas/Zill Travel Tours, exclusively working for Chris W. and her husband ( when he is allowed to join us ).
Nobody should ask me again if it is not always the same all the time...it is definitely not...every show was again a special one for me, with lots of fun with you and my friends. I will never ever forget a single day :-)...and the guitar version of "Sight and Touch" will always be my favourite on this tour...
In the end, I have to learn a new lesson now...what to do at 8pm when there is no concert...after 20 of them, you get used to a "certain" time shedule :-).
So, thanks again for spreading out so much energy from the stage, and for touching our souls in the concerts every night... and thanks to my friends Chris W. ( who is brilliant in using "modern technology" ) and Andrea ( "ok, I promise again to behave next time " ) for having so much fun and laughters...I really miss you all guys...but !!...I’ll see you again very, very soon...for having fun again...

Please take care of you while travelling around...and hopefully you’ll find some time to relax.

Love and hugs
Dany xxx

What can I say Chris de Burgh? What can I say but just, like, WOW! I am a recent convert to your music, having stumbled across your album Crusader and listened to it constantly for a 12 hour stint on Sunday. It is just so pertinent to what is happening today:

"Jerusalem is lost"

"some bedevilled Eastern heathen who has seized the Holy land"

"All Christian men must be as one and gather for the fight"

"Whoring and drinking and snoring and sinking"

"The Heathens were flying and screaming and dying"

"Jerusalem is lost"

Oh, yes, Chris, so pertinent, so - TRUE. I love it!

I would like to say thank you for the wonderful show in Nürnberg last week.
I was really surprised to "READ MY NAME" on the screen behind you. What a nice idea! And I really enjoyed the new solo versions of your songs. I think "Last Night" sounds terrific just with the guitar. I haven't listened to this song for ages and now I listen to it all day long. I just wish I had this solo version on tape... There's just one thing I was disappointed of: you didn't come out to sign autographs after the show :-(
Anyway, thanks for a great evening!

It is good that your tour goes around germany. It is ok for us to go more than 6000 km this time(included Croydon and London). But after all this what do we do with our empty evenings??
Need a therapy? Think soo. But we are not allone,or?? Just one thing to say:
You have to come back very soon!!!!!

See you

When I saw that there are other concerts until the end of July in Germany, I was so happy.
I have planned to come. This was my greatest wish. I hope everything goes well.
I don't know if I it is possible to see you personally, but it would be great.

Hello Chris!

I have to tell you something about crazy people.

Ina, you're right, you're crazy, but you are not alone. Think of me and Jutta and Ela, we are crazy, too. It wasn't long ago that I didn't know Altusried. Where is Altusried? Near Kempten? Oh, really? Okay, I always wanted to go to Altusried? And now...I'll do it with good, but *crazy* friends, I 'll drive 900km (one way) only to spend two and a half hour (hopefully more)watching a fantastic singer with a great voice.

Ina, is that really crazy? I say, that's absolutly normal. No better reason to go to Altusried!

And Chris, mayby any time you'll pay the doctors for our *chrismania* therapy.
(Jutta, Ela, Ina, perhaps we can make a *group therapy*)

Anyway, Chris, thank you for the time we could spent *together*.

Heike

Dear Chris,

thank you very much for your concert in Nürnberg. Thank you for singing my favourites so powerfully. Special thank you for "Carry Me" which touched others, too. I really enjoyed sitting so close to you - behind your greatest tour supporters from Germany and England. :)

Dear Chris
With my friend Kim (who I brought to a concert in Birmingham in 2002 - her first experience of your concerts!) we were at Amsterdam on 5th June. We only just made it in time due to the football, but we were so glad we got there for the opening song! From then on it was fantastic - possibly the best I have ever been to. We did have great seats right at the front but the atmosphere was what made it and we really enjoyed being right down at the stage in the second half. Thanks for a great show and we are desperately waiting for Royal Albert Hall and Bournemouth in October. See you there!
Thanks and love from Judy & Kim.
PS We really love "The words I Love you" and "Read my Name"

Hello Chris,

saw you at our MUSIKHALLE - it was amazing! In your Solo-Performance, songs like "Lebanese Night", "Don't pay the Ferryman" or "High on Emotion" sounded very different. Maybe you could also have sung "A spaceman came travelling" - and the 2000 people would sing the "La La La" themselves. You made us a real pleasure - come back soon, no matter if it is SPORTHALLE, MUSIKHALLE or COLOR LINE ARENA.

Dear sir,

I don't know if you really read all these messages, but I couldn't resist!!Truthfully it's not really my thing, but I just had to let you know how much I loved your performance on the 3d of june (Groningen)! A small miracle made it possible to come see you. And I was so in shock when you came into the audience. You even let me sing along!!I think I thanked you for that after the show, but well thanks again! Come back soon! ('Save Me')I would love to do a duet next time! :-)

Dear Chris,

last week I was in Bad Brückenau and had the possibility to watch your sound check and to take photos. When I showed them to my workmate Kati, she said, that you are looking very nice in your blue shirt. My opinion too, why don’t you wear blue more often instead of white shirts? Sorry, but we think always white is a little bit boring and blue lets you look so handsome.

Anyway: thank you for wonderful music and concerts.

Best wishes

Hi Chris!

Time to sign the guestbook again - I saw now 5 concerts (Münster, Düsseldorf, both Cologne-shows and Bad Brückenau) the last weeks and enjoyed all. Thank you again Jutta for the Bad-Brückenau-ticket!! The shows were all a bit different to me and all special in it´s own way - especially Cologne. I met good friends, hat much of fun with Heike, Ela, Jutta and Gabi, met listmembers - it was a great time!

The second Cologne-show was something I will never forget! Very, very spontaneus I decided in the morning to buy tickets for this show, too and take my son René - he is autistic - with me. It was his wish since 2 years and the venue would make it possible, I decided to try and if it would not be possible take him home again. It was hard work for him to control himself and much more work for me to hold him "under control", but taking him with me was the best idea I ever had! He was so proud giving you the little car and talk to you and I never saw so many deep emotions, I never saw before so much joy and fun and happiness in his face! He nearly cried when you leaved the stage and said that he misses you and if you would be his friend now. He was touched deep in his soul - I´m so thankful that you, your music, made it possible to have a look inside of my son, which I never had before in this deep way! For him it will always be a special day to remember. Actually he has put all his feelings closed inside again - he talks a lot of the show and you, but more facts now, saying every time how he enjoyed, but the deep feelings are closed again. I hope you get my personal lines including René´s little letter about this very, very special day for him and me!

The open air yesterday in Bad Brückenau was lot of fun - I was so happy that we could stay where we sat down together - sitting on the ground at the side of the stage - and dog "Rufus" enjoyed the show sitting on the stage, too (he whispered to us later in the car ;-) while driving home). And for Carmelo, Ela´s sun - it was very special that you started singing "Happy birthday" together with the audience for him!

Thank you Chris, for touching souls, for your music, for beeing so "human", for giving comfort and giving joy with your music!

It´s hard to wait until November... ;-)

All the best!
Ina

Hi Chris,
I heard you talking on British Forces radio a few months back. I wanted to say hi when I heard you say about your site. I am a painter, I exhibit in Argentina, my wifes from there now plus we have a 2 yr old boy, I spend a lot of time there.(no, it is pretty rare a Falkland guy going to Argentina) But the bit I wanted to share was that my best friend there is an ex argentine conscript from the war here in the Falklands living in Venado Tuerto. His grandfather was in the RAF in ww2. Yes, all crazy I know. And he said one day to me- Have you heard of Chris De Burgh- Yes I said 'We should pop along to see his aunt? I think it was, for a cup of tea' It seems he knows her, from the anglo community in that area. His name is Mike Savage.
Won't keep you any longer. Love these connections, here's to peace in this part of the world. P.S. If Chris does not get to read this, please pass it on as it is genuine!!

Hi Chris,

On the 5th of Juni we went to Amsterdam and we loved the concert. The last time we saw you was years ago in Rotterdam (AHOY) and I am impressed that you still sound as great as ever. And took no break. I agree that the hall was not perfect, I rather 'dance'to your music, but never the less I/we have enjoyed it very much.
I missed one song 'What you mean to me'. That song 'makes my day' everytime I hear it. I'll just have to play the cd again.

Hi Chris,
hi everybody else,

Though we had some difficuly pesuading the uniformed bloke of the Musikhalle - we reached the stage at last. But that was only one bad thing about the Hamburg concert in my opinion. The evening was simply magic!!!!! You were in a good mood (high on emotion???) - the audience understood what you were saying in English. Great choice of old and new songs. Pity - the DVD filming was not done in Hamburg!! If you keep on getting better - as I think you have done since Braunschweig - how will the Westfalenhalle- concert be in November???
Thanks a lot for partying with us after the encores. Hope you had some energy left after the concert for partying with your family.
Take care
Christina

Dear C de B,
I saw you in Antwerp and what a SUPER concert! Since I've left Canada (8 years ago) I've heard less about you so I now realise I've missed a few albums. So it was a double pleasure to go to the concert and find out what you've been doing. It brough back wonderful memories of my girlfriends and I screaming and jumping around at the Montreal Forum. Two decades later I'm still jumping around with as much pleasure and yes my voice was pretty hoarse despite the very chic surroundings. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times.
Fondly,

Dear Chris,
such a surprise - another new song! Thank you very much for "Even Now" on the single "Five Past Dreams". What a voice and what a beautiful, breathtaking love song! (I see a parallel to "The Same Sun"?). You can express "things" with words and in music - we cannot do. Thank you.
At the concert I enjoyed the new songs - of course, the songs from the Quiet Revolution Album and I was very fond of "It's Me" (about a deep love in a Cathedral) and "Last Night". "Only" own songs - great. Thank you. I think of you everywhere... and I wish you will receive my postcard. Take care. Love Gerlinde

Hi all, hi Chris,

I visited your concert the 5th of June in Amsterdam, and I must say that after the concert I was disappointed.
True, you have a great voice, hit those notes almost every time right, your lyrics are wonderful, but I really missed the variety in the music. This is mostly due to the very-missed orchestra or band.

To be able to perform a solo-concert like this one should be a much more diverse musician than you are. After a while the sound coming from the stage seemed a little blurrish and monotonous to me - despite the great vocal performance.

I'm sure that a CdeB fan wil have had the evening of his or her life, but my evening (being a appreciative CdeB listener, but not a die-hard fan of yours - sorry 'bout that) was only saved when we headed back into the city and had a great night of celebrating the Irish victory (thanks for rubbing it in :)) over the Dutch soccer team.

I'd like to visit one of your concerts again, but PLEASE, bring a solid band! Hope you like the positive criticism.

Thanks and good luck to you all!

Erwin

Hi Chris,
I am so happy that I can still hear my favourite singer is releasing new songs. To be frankly, I have not heard some good songs for a while and I was going to get fed up of this new electronic stuff they stuff the people's ears with, calling them music? If those are music and songs, so what are yours? David's melody's just sneaked out of paradise? They might be, they might be not. The truth is your music has a background. Your music is supported with knowlege, not the knowlege of using the right key in the right time, but the musical knowlege, litrature, history and all the academics which a musician MUST know. That's why your music is so unique and fresh at all times. I have always loved your music and I will always love them too.
By the way, I was going to book some tickets for your concert in Brige Water Hall in Manchester for October 10, but I found that the Water Brige Hall's time table shows that your concerte will be on September 10. Would you please confirm that which time table is correct and when exactly we can see you there? I have my brother coming over to England to see you and we don't want to miss the greatest concerte of our life time.
Yours,
Payam

Dear Chris,

It was fantastic last night in Groningen. A very intimate concert. But when I'm honest, I alse really like your concerts together with a band.
But again, it was superb.
Wish you good luck for all the concerts to come .... and don't wait to long to come back to The Nederlands, alsjeblieft!

First I want to thank you again for signing our photo in Antwerpen.
Second I want to give you the compliments for doing such a great show on your own!Antwerpen was amazing! But seeing you playing in Utrecht Holland it was better than best! I was so happy to have made it to the front row. The Dutch crowd and you where one! Thanks for playing 3 songs more than in Antwerpen. Next time we really bring pyamas! It was a pleasure for me to help you out when you couldn't find the title of the album (Quiet revolution)where 'the same sun' was on it. Thanks for your personal reaction. Headlight of the evening was when you played very emotionally Carry me like a fire. Doing this made you so very special person!
I am really looking forward to see you again in Amsterdam.
Thank you Chris for such a long concert, it's really 2 1/2 hour top entertaiment or much more than this...

Dear Chris,
Thank you for that lovely and sparkling show in Antwerp last tuesday the 1 of june 2004.
Your music has always inspired my husband and me. We started our relation on the lady in red and danced the opening-dance on our wedding-day on the notes of Carry me.
We bought your new album...in the foyer... and have enjoyed it very much. We wish you succes with your Ferryman-productions!
As for the belgian beer... Here in Aalst we stick to Safir, you should try it once!

We hope you keep inspiring people to prevent war and to love thy neighbour.

Succes in your further life and carreer and we hope to see you again soon in one of your great performances.

With love
Lieve

Hello Chris,

I've enjoyed your concert last night in Vredenburg (Utrecht). It was just GREAT! I love the ballads the most; filled with emotions the can take you away to another world. I was last year during the storm at your concert in Ahoy and it was good too, but last night was just perfect.
You're solo absolutely fantastic!
I agree with the people that asked for an DVD. I would buy it immidiately. I already have de DVD from your benefit concert in Volendam in 2001.

Hi Chris,

We thank you for your fantastic show last night in Antwerpen. What a prowess to be able, alone, to flame the auditorium...
It was the first time that my wife saw you in concert, she was extremely delight.
You know, the first time I saw you, was in 1984, in Forest National, two years before my grave accident and two years before I saw you again with a nurse (I stood for 11 months in an hospital and I offered her a place to conduct me to the show). Now, 20 years later, maybe for this birthday, you came and shaked my hand, like to say :"Thank you Claude". I was so surprised.
I hope you will be back in Brussel quickly to listen and sing with you "Moonlight and Vodka", "Spanish Train", "The Head and the Heart", and a lot of your good oldies.
Bye, thanks and see you soon.
Claude.

To be honest, if it hadn't been for my dad - tickets were my gift for his birthday - I would have missed a special concert tonight at the Vredenburg in Utrecht! I'd seen Chris once before, during the into the light tour, 18 years ago [had it been that long?!] in Ahoy Rotterdam. Since then, I sort of lost track ['lady in red-overdose'!] and therefore didn't quite know what to expect. But it was electrifying, I had many goosebump-experiences, and the new/recent tracks were convincing. I sometimes missed the power/back-up of a full band tour, but Chris did more than make up for this: nice arrangements, excellent [read: EXCELLENT!] voice, great stage personality, - he seems the perfect entertainer [we might call this solo arrangement the 'boost your ego'-tour!] And he created what was indeed a very intimate atmosphere through his interaction with the audience; everyone that walked up front [thankfully, they came in limited numbers!] got special attention, although I couldn't help noticing one girl repeatedly trying to hand over a letter who wasn't acknowledged, a bit tough...
But all in all, very good stuff! A night to remember - thanks

Hi again !! just read my long mail and realised that apart from a couple of spelling errors...due to lack of sleep !! I also missed out something which Dany mentioned in her entry. I have to agree with her, when she says that every night was different with different emotions, different people, but always with plenty of energy coming from the stage to us and of course hopefully returned by us back to you :-))))))))))Each night was really special to me, for one reason or another. Even if you get fed of of seeing the same faces night after night, you never ever show it. You really are 'simply the best' !!! and I can't wait to see another concert soon !!Please take care in Belguim and the Netherlands during this week. Can't wait to 'take part' in the tour again ;-) !! i have been there...I have taken part .......... i just still cannot get over the brilliant idea of Kenny's to put all out names on the screen at the back of the stage as you sing Read My Name. This truelly was such a brilliant idea and whow we felt so proud the first night we saw our name in lights :-))))))))))))
Once again, love and hugs,
Chris xxx

Hiya Chris !!
first i want to say 'thank you' so very much for a fantastic 3 week tour in Germany. Stewart and I arrived home safely at 24:00hrs last night, totally exhausted but still very High On Emotion.
This was maybe....no definately the 'maddest' 3 weeks of my life and the maddest 2 weeks of Stewarts life, but it was all well worth it !! We have had such a great time touring all over Germany wit our 'special' group of friends, and even managed to take in 3 days of sight seeing, in Berlin, Munich and Koln.
It was extremely interesting to watch how the current tour has evolved over the first 13 concerts. I remember the first concert in Braunsweig , and I remember the sheer look of concentration on your face when you were on the piano when playing Five Past Dreams especially. Now when you play it, you look so much more relaxed, as with a lot of the other new songs. We have seen some songs that have now been dropped and replaced with others, as for some reason, we think you must have felt that they did not fit right.....but no worries , we love all of your songs anyway :-)
I do not think I need to tell you which are my 'mega favourite' songs on the set list.....i have a feeling that you have already worked that one out ;-) !!!! Right now i cannot even think which concert was my favourite one....but for sure I know which was the 'strangest one' ...and that was Munich !! when 6 of us ran to the front of the stage as you started singing 'The Journey' and then we realsised that no one else had followed.......talk about an utter feeling of total embarressment.....that is why we all sat down instead of dancing right away. Thanks so much for then asking the audience to get up and come down to the front to dance !!!We felt much better then :-)
I do not want to even start to calculate how many kilometers we all travelled in those 3 weeks but at the end of it after the last show in Koln, we sat down and had a few drinks to celebrate the fact that we had enjoyed it all so much and that we had all just about survived it all !!!! totally knackered and all upset that the next day we had to all part company and go back to our respective jobs, to earn some money to help pay for our 'current' lifestyle ;-) !!
someone asked us if we could explain why our group were doing so many concerts.....well it is sooo hard to put into words...but it has something to do with, your songs, your voice, the words of your songs, your charisma, oops I'd better stop right there ;-) !!! and the fact that once we start listening to you live on stage, we are 100% under your 'CdeB' spell and I know it is probably hard to believe, but please try to......it really is though your music that we have met so many lovely friends in Germany, who always make us feel so welcome in their homes and who always pick us up and drop us off at the airport, when we travel to Germany, even though we have to travel with the lost cost airlines like Ryan air, who always land zillions of miles away from any town :-( there is always a friendly face to greet us as we arrive.
Sure there are those who will think us totally mad, but I know that i am as sane as the next person....just realised that 'life is for living' and you only live once......even if i have used everyday of my annual leave for the current financial year up on supporting you, and that i have paid the equivelent of 3.. yes 3 months of my hard earned nurses salary into the 'de Burgh' fund !!! i know so far i have enjoyed every second of it...well almost every second of it, and I know that there is more to come, so although right now, i am totally shattered and wonder how i will return to work tomorrow, i will survive and will look forward to some more great concerts soon !!!!
Ok so i am not always so good with my words, but I hope you undestand what I am trying to say. thansk for a great 13 concerts, and a massive thanks and a big hello to Konni, Andrea, Dany, and all our other friends we have chatted to and that have helped us out..you are all so kind :-) and if anyone need any taxi company in germany, i suggest they try Lucas, Zill and Risse taxi's...they are simply the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stewart and I can vouch for that.....always on time, always very friendly and all expert drivers :-))))))))))
now I must go back to my other stressful life of being a professional nurse !!
Chris i look forward to seeing you again soon ;-)
take care, love and hugs, Chris xxx and Stewart(the long suffering husband) of course !!

Dear Chris!

Thank you for the two wonderful concerts in Cologne. For my husband Stefan and me it was the greatest weekend we ever had. Before and after the concerts we had so much fun with all the others of the mailinglist. At saturday it was an indescribable feeling to sit there in the third row surrounded by so many mailinglist friends and sing and dance along to the most touching music of the world. Thank you so much for your songs, the way you perform them, the stories and jokes you tell, the attention and love you give to every single person who comes to the stage with a gift, your modesty and your naturalness; thank you for all the love and emotion, for all the crying and laughing at your concerts.
Do you remember the man to whom you said "Thank you for the airbag."? Well that was Stefan.
It was such a tremendous concert that Stefan and I decided spontaneously to try and get last minute tickets for Sunday. And we were so lucky. Not only that we got the tickets but also we got our seats right behind Astrid.
At that second evening you were even more magnificent than the day before. Unfortunately one can`t say the same about most of the audience.
On saturday the atmosphere was much better than on sunday.
Now Stefan and I have to wait for Emmendingen to see you next. That`s soooo hard. I´m looking forward to Dortmund in November.

The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind. The God of peace will be with you.

greetings from Annette, Stefan and (unborn) Tabea Siobhan

Hi Chris,

WHOW, the first part of our concert tour is over now. I'm still impressed, and it is strange to be thrown back into normal life. We‘ve never done something like that before. A great new experience for us all.
A big "Thank You" for so many wonderful evenings with fantastic concerts in all these different venues. Each concert was a special "new" one, with different emotions, moods and of course lots of fun, smiles and laughters. You‘ve made it so special every single night, and we‘ve taken part. I had a great time while travelling around Germany for 3 weeks with my friends Chris (W) ( ok, I‘ll behave in the future...for 59 seconds ), Stewart ( still alive after 2 weeks with 4 women ), Andrea ( thanks for taking care of me, without you I'll get lost one day ) and Konni ( next time I’d like to have a bigger tent with room service, please ).
Without you , we’d never ever met..Thank you, for giving us the chance to built up this very special friendship.
Talking about the energy that the audience is giving to you every night...be sure, it is the same feeling for us the other way round...
Have fun all in Belgium today and in the Netherlands over the week...see you soon, to take part again .

Take care pls., love and hugs,
Dany xxx
