Christopher John Davidson:
You're one of the best singers in the world. The truth. I say that you're one of the best 'cause I have so many in my average (Paul Mc Cartney in the 1st. place of my heart bacause he is a Beatle and that's all, James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Diane Shuur, Tony Hadley, Elton John; Pedro Aznar from Buenos Aires who featured for so long time ago with the Pat Metheny Group; Luis Salinas also from Buenos Aires, he's one of our best lead guitar in the American Continent and he can performed anything; Judy Collins, Liza Minelli, Lou Rawls, Sting, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Barry Manylow with his "Mandy" or his "Sandra" or with his "I want to be somebody's baby" or "Daybreak"; Neil Diamond with Barbara Streisand doind the most beautiful and romantic talent theme "You don't bring me roses"; Luis Miguel doing the duet with Frankie Sinatra (the voice!) "Come Fly with me!"; Lito Vitale from Buenos Aires (like you!) one of the most keyboards & piano write-composers who made a very big change in the concept music (you have to listen his music); Juan Carlos Baglietto from Buenos Aires; Roger Hudson from Supertramp, (you remember!), Elvis Costello, Lisa Stansfield, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins when he was in Genesis doing one of the best music with Gabriel when he were the very thruth Genesis group, and so many others.
The best song I have permanent in my memory is "The Lady in Red". It's one of the great performances you ever made and 2nd the slow motion with piano solo, that's was so great! Congratulations anyway. Then I have a CD record "The glory of Gershwin" in the 2nd track you make your appearence with the theme "Do what you do!" that's also a great performance for the glory of George Gershwin.
I give my congratulations to one of the argentine artist that performed his work outside the country and all over the world.
I wanna make a brindis with you!
Thanks for your music... again!!!

Dear Chris!
I want to thank you for your wonderful concert, which you gave in Düsseldorf/Tonhalle last weekend (22.05.2004)! It really was a great evening!
As I already knew your DVD of the Benefit-concert in Volendam I had no doubt, that a solo-concert was no problem for you.
So I was looking forward to see you since the beginning of November, when I'd bought the tickets for 3 friends and me. We wanted to sit very near to you, so we got our seats No 1 + 3 in row 1 and Nor. 1 + 3 in row 2.
All the day of the concert the time didn't seem to pass at all. For me it was like the afternoon of Christmas Eve in my childhood. Finally at 18.00 p.m. my friends arrived and we drove together the 48 km from dinslaken to Düsseldorf, while we were already listening to your songs on CD in the car.
I already enjoyed the atmosphere, when we walked together from the (too expensive) parking-house to the Tonhalle. When we walked along a house with a mirror-door we all had to lough, because all we 4 women took a quick control-look in the mirror to check out if we were looking good enough for you!
The Tonhalle was a very fascinating building! The nearer we came the more people we could see rushing straight to the hall. We followed them.
I was very happy to see, that the little store there sold also your 2 maxi-CDs, which we unfortunately can't buy here in German shops. Can you tell me, why they aren't officially sold here?
Well, I'm very glad that I had the chance to buy them, because I like very much the 2 unreleased tracks "Kiss me from a distance" and "Even now".
At 19.30 p. m. we could enter the hall and look out for our seats. We were surprised, how small the Tonhalle was; and our seats were so very close to the stage! Hardly to believe to be so near to you soon!!!!!
Then the time passed ver quick and you really were standing in front of us! It was the moment I'd been waiting for for 1 1/2 years, since I saw you in Oberhausen (Arena) at the 26.10.2002! The concert in Oberhausen was the first concert of you for me!
Do you sometimes look at the people in the audience and remember them after the show? - I was the 35 years old woman sitting just in the right edge of the front row, seen from your sight. I wore a brown costume with a white T-shirt. I'm rather tall (1,79 m), slim and wear long brown hair. Besides I had a photo-camera in my hands nearly all the time. While your round through the audience you finally stopped in front of me. When you'd arrived at me just after IÄd taken another photo of you (Typical me!) you were singing "What you mean to me". But I was so excited when you were coming, that I couldn't even find out, which song it was, you were just singing. So I could only sing the words "What you mean to me" in the refrain, while I was looking in your brown eyes! Only afterwards I realized, which song it had been: I must admit, that "What you mean to me" had been the only song on your new album, which I didn't like so very much, but after that (with the memories) I also like it and listen to it often at home.... . That's how fans are...... . Well, those few seconds you were looking at me were the best part of the concert for me, and thiking back of it, it still makes me smile!
But I think you give everybody in the audience the feeling, that you look at him/her and pay attention on him, because you always look around from the left to the right and up and down. That's what also makes your fans love you, I think.
At both concerts I've seen you there was a special point, on which some fans from the audience sudddenly stood up and ran in front of the stage. I always wondered, if there was a secret sign you gave them, which let them stand up.
Of course in both of my 2 concerts I followed those fans, and it was great to stand in front of you and sing with you.
The 2 1/2 hours in Düsseldorf passed so very quick! As I once read or heard in an interview you mentioned, that your beautiful daughter Rosanne perhaps could do the one or tother concert with you. Did she ever come as a guest-singer meanwhile on your tour? I would have liked to see her with you. At the end of the concert I realized, that you had played and sung all of your new songs except "Here for you". Do you only sing it, when Rosanna is with you?
Do you sometimes use your spare days between the concerts to find new locations for concerts in the future?! Perhaps you once should come to Dinslaken and give a concert in our town. We've got a nice open-air-stage, our "Burgtheater" for around 1000 guests I think. In the background there's the ruin of an old castle. It would just be the right place for you! We also have a town-hall.
Please, go on writing much more nice songs! And I'm sure, much fans would buy a DVD of your concert-tour, and also a CD. Your fans can only hear the old songs on old CDs, when you were younger. But your voice and your style of performing the songs changed. Your voice seems warmer and deeper now than in your younger years. And 've got "A rainy night in Paris" only on an old vinyl-album....!!!!!
Wouldn't it be a good chance for your new record-company Ferryman-productions? But please, sell them also in German shops!!!!
It was a big surprise to hear/read, that we can see you again in only 5 monthes in Dortmund! So I'll try to get goot tickets again.
So I send my best wishes to you, and come back soon with much concerts and new songs!!!!!!
Doris

Hi Chris,
I have been a fan since "Beyond these castles walls" back in the mid 70's. You were the first part to Gino Vanelli's and Supertramp's concerts and the rest is history. I have been to every show you gave in town. My personal favorites were the last year's intimate concert and the one with the orchestra. Us, Montrealers are such great fans of yours. Please come back soon.

Dear Chris de Burgh
I come from the island of Malta a place you know so well.Ever since I heard your music back in 1980,I could not resist from collecting your albums.
Your music is unique because it comes from the heart and touches the many aspects in life.
You sing about romance, love, war, family and religion and above all the love of God which I beleive He is the centre of your life.
Your lyrics inspire me a lot and your music relaxes me and puts me in a peaceful world.WELL DONE- Chris.
Keep up the good work and please keep giving us many more years of great music.

I've just come home from tonight's concert in the Philharmonie in Köln. I loved every minute of it! The atmoshere there was much nicer than in the huge Kölnarena. What I particularly liked was the solo performance. Chris has a real rapport with his audience. I hope that his next concert will be as good as the one tonight.

Dear Chris,
I attended the Frankfurt show at the Alte Oper on the 25.5.04 and loved it. It was by far, the best concert I have ever been to. I had a seat in the fourth row and that alone was an absolute thrill for me! My favorite song, and the one that got me seriously into your music is 'The Same Sun', and I was so glad you performed that one, because it is really one of the most beautiful songs I know.
I also wanted to tell you that less than a half an hour before leaving home to come to the concert hall, I received an email from one of my very best friends in the USA. She informed me that her mother had passed away only a few days before. I came to the show quite in shock, but when you sang 'It's Such a Long Way Home', I suddenly realized how hard it really is to be so far away from the friends one treasures and found myself breaking down and crying for the first time since hearing this news. This was a very healing moment for me, but when the kind lady seated next to me reached over and squeezed my hand and I realized that not only was your show something that brought me healing, but I came to realize that you truly have some of the nicest fans I have ever encountered in my life.
The show was an intimate evening, composed of a real caring and kind atmosphere and music that leaves people not just happy, but also gives us something poignant to think about. It truly is no wonder so many say 'your concerts are the best', because I concur 100 percent!!!
Namasté,

Dear Chris!
There are not many words to add as Heike wrote some days ago... the time in Münster and in Düsseldorf was so great, we had so much fun!
Düsseldorf - there was a fantastic mood in the audience! It was funny to see that N. and I were dancing and standing up alone between so much people in the beginning, but it is nearly impossible sitting down on the seats when you sing!
For me the Cologne-concert is the last in this tour *sigh*, but I´m looking forward to November!
Not to forget, that René was very happy to hear that you got his painted picture :-) !

Dear Chris,
what have you done?
I start my days with a big smile remembering the concerts you've done in the last two weeks. And the smile gets bigger and bigger. Ela, Gabi, Ina, Jutta and I had so much fun during and after your concerts and it was you and our *chrismania* who brought us together. Thank you for twenty and more years of fantastic music and concerts. 1980 I loved your music but now I'm deep impressed. Too bad that you hadn’t the time to sign our t-shirts in Düsseldorf but it was wonderful to discover our little truck on the dashboard of your tour bus. Thank you! Meanwhile our purses are empty but we all are more than happy that there are some more tickets for the following concerts in our pockets. I hope my car will manage the lots of kilometres. I know I will do it!
See you soon.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for a really wonderful night in Dortmund yesterday. It was one of your best concerts I've ever been to! And I was quite impressed by the venue, too.
I've been to the new "Konzerthaus" in Dortmund the first time (and of course not the last!) and I think it's a great venue for a solo performance. Even if it's a bit 'Titanic-like' like you said. But I'm afraid I wouldn't mind sinking with the 'Titanic' while listening to you singing all my favourite songs in such a brilliant way. :-))
Especially 'Rainy night in Paris' made my day, though I must admit I've missed the sweet sound of the saxophone a bit. But best of all was 'Read my Name'!!!
I've really loved this song from the first time I've heard it. It's such an important song for me, 'cos ...
... sorry, I think it'll go too far to explain my relationship to 'Read my name' on this guestbook. Just keep it short:
"With all I've got I've taken part, I've made a difference to the world, I have been here just read my name"
I did! THANKS!
See you in November in Dortmund!
Can't wait!

I really like your music, Chris. I think you're right good. I like that song about the devil and the train and jesus and the game of cards and that in it, that is my complete and utter favourite. Ever since they shut the local mine down, the only thing that has kept me going is that song as it is unlifting to back where i belong. Tahaha. I really like your music, Chris. I hope you make many more albums that have the strength and power and force and beautifulness of that one with that devil cards song that I mentioned earlier on it's. I've never had a good education and I lost my wife last week and I have no job now but that song with the devilcards in it is just so good it has kept me going through the darkest and smelliest of all days. I really like your music, Chris.

When my friends and I were still university students in Iran, your songs gave us the opportunity of flying over the heavy walls of dogmatism and extremism to the new modern world. The world that is full of tolerance and humanity. Your meaningful stories always gave us the courage to keep going. You were "like a fire in our hearts".
I, on behalf of Iranian young boys and girls, would like to thank you for inspiring us to make a better society for ourselves.

Dear Chris,
I've been one of your biggest fans since the "Flying Colours" album came out. (I was only 14 then!) Since then, I've been to many concerts you gave here in Germany. Listening to you live is always amazing! I was also at the concert in Mannheim on May 20th. I enjoyed it so much! You have a really beautiful and powerful voice. And it was quite a surprise to hear "Last Night" and even "A Rainy Night in Paris" played live. Great idea! And by allowing the fans to get so close (f.e. by walking around among the audience and even shaking hands with some of the people) you really manage to make us, the fans, all feel like every one of us is special to you. I also like your jokes (hi, Britney!) and I think you were really charming that evening - you always are. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Lots of Love,
Tanja
P.S.: Have you ever thought of writing stories, too? What about writing some and reading them out on cd? I'd love to find out more about how you see the world and to hear you talking for more than just a radio or TV interview. (Sorry, if I'm "fan no. 2460" suggesting something like this to you.)

Hi Chris,
I enjoyed your concert in Stuttgart yesterday! It was again great - great as the eight concerts I visited before, in the 80's and 90's...
I saw you together with Didi Hamann in the restaurant. Hope you enjoyed the German beer and the dinner!
Only one question:
Why didn't you present my favourite song 'The head and the heart'?
Isn't it a perfect song to play at the piano?
However - thanks again for the show!

Dear Chris (and all friends of CdeB),
the other day I´ve read a newspaper article about the concert in Berlin and I just have to quote for everybody who is interested. It was just one sentence but I think it says more than the whole article " It only needs 4 things to have a perfect concert experience: a guitar, a piano, a microphone and a Chris de Burgh." I only have to confirm!!!
It was a different(but perfect) choice of songs than in former times and I liked the "read my name" surprise very much. Thank you, A. and K. !!!
I hope, everybody is having so much fun as I had and see you next time in Düsseldorf!!!

Hi Chris! I'm a fan of your music for more than 20 years now and I've visited each tour you made since 1982. This time I'm looking forward to see your show in Mannheim tomorrow and it will be something very special for me this year. First of all it's my 35th birthday tomorrow and it's the first time ever I'm able to see a concert of my most favorite artist on this special day. Secondly I'm looking forward having my first baby in November and so my little baby will also be able to enjoy your concert tomorrow - and I'm sure he/she will like it as much as me! I saw your last year in Stuttgart (or was it already two years ago?) at the Schlossgarten and it was a solo evening too. Therefore I'm very happy that you decided to make a solo tour again this year. By the way: We got something in common, because my name is Chris as well.-)) Enjoy your tour and have a good time - and go on making such wonderful music as you did in the past! My kindest regards!Chris

Bonjour Chris,

Hi Chris!
Your concert in Aachen was just breathtaking.
You did a wonderful choice of songs. "Last Night" really made me shiver.
It was great fun when you threw the chocolate into the audience.
What I liked best was you walking with the headset through the whole auditorium.
I like all your concerts, the ones with the band and the solo concerts, but for 2 1/2 hours just you and your piano and your guitars, solo and intimate, that`s just incomparable, indescribable and unsurpassed.
I whish you a wonderful tour 2004.
See you soon in Düsseldorf and Köln and in July in Emmendingen.
God bless you.

Chris,
told you the other day about how much I loved the album. But I have to say, listening again and again to it, I am so HAPPY for you.... I know that you mentioned on 680News, on our news station, when you were interviewed, that you were so happy with gaining producing control again of your music. This has resulted in an album that reflects your creativity as it was when you recorded "Beyond these Castle Walls"etc.. You have come back into sounding like the Chris of Old.... with yet another ballad that is worthy of your voice. BUt all of the other songs that you have recorded on this album, in addition to the wonderful "When Winter Comes"s too good to be true.... Thank you for giving me the music to understand ..... I am here and "Read my Name" yes,,, and for the lines " We must give respect to all the others.... and what a man believes" Too much of that is not here for us, Canadians and such... you are absolutely right.... and so glad to partake of your "Christian" sing, at last one that says what it needs to without partitioning off others, we are all of "the eternal light".... if only we could recognize that... thank you Chris, for always being there for me... for thirty years you have been my muse.... as long as you have published commercially.... if you want to take the time to write,,,, I would not be objectionable.... thank you for your "Spanish Train" , your "IN a Country Grarden" and everything (and I mean everything) in between,
A life long fan............. who has seen you in every venue that you have been here including the one at the Ampitheatre where I finally got to give you a hug, three years ago.......you will NOT remember that at the end of that concert.... but I do...
respectfully yours, always,
caroline

I am looking forward to hearing the new CD - it was listed at $19.99 in Ottawa Ontario which seems rather high since most are around $12.99 lately so I decided to shop arround, unfortunately every place else I've checked is sold out. I'll have to go back to the first place as a special trip. I expect it will be well worth the trip.
I keep hoping for a DVD to come out of a few live concerts, interviews, maybe songwriters advice etc.

Hi Chris (if you read this),
Hi everybody all over the world,
last night I went to Braunschweig for the opening night of The Road to Freedom tour. I thoroughly enjoyed myself - if you have the chance to get hold of a ticket, just get. The 2 1/2 hours were worth everything Cent!!!! Great choice of old and new songs, slow and fast ones. Chris alone on the stage with guitar/piano - and he seemed to have had a lot of fun, too. Pity there is no open air in northern Germany (Last year's in Ludwigslust was just magic)- though there should be suitable locations around here.
Go to a concert and hear for yourself you won't regret it.
Dear Chris - thanks for an enjoyable evening. Take care - there are a lot of concerts coming up!!!

Great things seem to be afoot... :)
Hey there Chris & entourage - welcome back in Germany!!
I've just heard the first enthusiastic report from the start of the tour in Braunschweig yesterday and was thunderstruck to learn that I've actually been part of it without even being there!?! - Which, by the way, is in fact true somehow as I thought about it all evening, fervently hoping that the show would go down as well as all the former ones did.
Well, obviously it's full of surprises and I just can't wait to see&hear it myself for the first time in Aachen on Saturday. Endlessly amazing and inventive that YOU are... :))
Here's to an extremely favourable response with lots of applause for you; and for us: magical moments and some more nights to remember!

Sometime the day doesn't start in a good way but at the end everything is good. So this morning i got up ... my feet in the water :( but because of that did not go to work... saw your interview, took the time to go buy your new album (again... well did not have comme un rêve!) back home listen to your interview on the radio saying that this fall you will come.... Did something bad happen this morming? i don't remeber. So thanks for what you do best, give us a chance to escape from your routine, your problems and everything else. i really like this album and the song in french is a bonus for us, qui nous apporte beaucoup de joie et reconnaissance.... merci du fond du coeur

Dear Chris, I was very moved by your demeanor in your 'CANADA AM' interview, on May 5, and the wonderful things you had to say about us 'CANADIANS'! The grace and poise with which you carry yourself shows with a loud quiescence
the wonderful person that you are!
I must say however, that I wished with all my heart that that interview had been given by ANYONE else other than those at that television studio! I feel that there is in that place, a sublime but overwhelming underlying sense of coldness, and impersonableness! I would think that it probably had passed by
you unnoticed. I think nonetheless that an apology to you is in order...I would hope that most Canadians are far more real in their humanity than the poeple of that station!!
That is only my opinion. However, I would wager that if any Canadian reading this post, (those who have any heart of flesh in them), were to watch and observe the spirit of that daily broadcast, they would agree!

Watched you on AM TV Wednesday, May 5, 2004. I'm impressed with your caring ways & outlook.
Have been your fan from the beginning. Went to many dances in the 80's and danced to Lady In Red!! In fact, still dancing to your songs!

Hello! Chris!
This is Lena from Russia. Any time I hear your songs I know that the World you created getting closer to me and I can run in the field of corn and live in the small house somewhere far from the noisy city. I can trust that the man of my heart is waiting for me in our lovely place and we will live forever. This dream may not come true but your song give me some hope. I have one more dream to hear your voice at live but it takes time and time...
