Dear Chris,
... I know - I'm slow ... but today I want to send many congratulations on your new album. I can only say: Simply the best you have ever done! Meaningful songs from the beginning to the end - without exception! The instrumental appeals to me and I like how the first songs hang together. And the cover is really great and extraordinary. My favourite song is "The Road To Freedom" - this powerful anti-war song. And "The Journey" means so a lot to me. Thank you very much for "The Road To Freedom" and thank you for your strong imagination I share ...
I hope you enjoy the new green and the spring flowers - after such a promotion tour - before your Europe Tour. (There are blue, white, yellow, red, lilac flowers round me and the swallows are back). Please take good care of you. Love and hugs from the South of Germany. Buenos dias! Gerlinde.
PS. Nevertheless "Timing Is Everything" will be my all time favourite one.

hi chris,
just like to mention why i came on to the website, because i think my reasoning represents a pinical of sucsess. Im looking on the web site, as research for a project for my Music GCSE. The brief is to write a typical ballad from the 1960's onwards, and your song "lady in red" was on the requested listening list. just thought you might like to know...you might not really care, but i was just thinking that if i ever got to the point in my musical career where kids were being taught about me in school...id be chuffed!anyway, like your work, might check out your new album.***al

Recently I bought the latest CD "Road to freedom". Since I don't like to use my precious original CD's in car I tried to make me a copy. None of our 6 (!) CD-drives in our computers were even able to read the CD. That means that I'm not even able to listen this CD when working on my computer. I don't know why the record companies and the singers are worried about music piracery and make such silly stuff like copy protection. I know from friends that Chris' latest CD is on the net available already. No wonder, when the companies denies our right to make a copy. But I'm not able to make me a copy. That means that those who wish to copy are able to do so even with the finest copy protection!
I know that this is the last CD ever I buy with a copy protection! Even if I never ever get a new CD from my one and only favourite singer. I don't know how long this comment will appear on this site but maybe one will tell Chris.
A very disappointed fan .

Einziger Wermutstropfen ist die kurze Spieldauer der CD. Naja, dafür stimmt der Inhalt :-)

Hi Chris,
I don’t think you have a lot of “Real Fans” in Thailand. I mean anyone who says that their most favorite singer in the world is “Chris De Burgh”. I’ve been your fan since 1988. That time, I was an exchange student to Cologne, Germany. I don’t know why I love your songs and your words in them. Every time I hear such music, my memory is stimulated. I can even smell my unforgettable year there in Germany.
I dream that I will have an opportunity to attend your concert at least once somewhere. A few years ago, you had a concert in Bangkok, Thailand. But I couldn’t make it to be there that time. Bangkok is 1,000 km. away from my home in Hatyai.I have no question today. Just let you know that you have a fan here. I would like to encourage you to continue be an inspiration for many people thru your music. There are many songs in the market today. But very few can TOUCH hearts.I love your “Tender Hands” and “Missing You”.
I am now 33 years old. My wife is also impressed by your music and lyrics. I am sure that my lovely 2-years old boy child will love your music too.
I’ve really been “Missing You”

Dear Chris

I want to tell you a story about a woman and a man. The woman was happely married. She lost her husband in a short time(5 weeks), because he became very ill and died. She had a very loving family. Her brother to her to a concert' Night of the Proms' and there she saw you for the first time: she was imprest by your music and your warm personality. Your music helped her trough a very difficult time. As specially the song ' Carry me', became very special to her.
The man was married, loved his wife, but had a difficult time in his life. His wife became ill and died within one year.
The woman and the man met each other. The man told the woman his life-story, which was hard and sad. They started to like each other. Her love and the song 'Carry me', gave him the chance to let his emotions go for the first time in his life. The song became very dear to them.
At the 10th of june 2004. Exactly two years after they met for the first time, they are going to be married. The song that starts the churchwedding is ' Carry me'. Other songs by you are used in other parts of their wedding.
Your music tells the story of this man and woman. The man is Jan, de woman is Thea.
You will be giving concerts in june. Its sad that we could not buy tickets for one of your Dutch concerts. It would have given our great and loving weddingday something very special.
We wanted to share this with you.

We have just returned from a visit to Ireland during which we visited Dalkey Castle in County Dublin. The tour guide Kevin had a remarkable likeness to Chris. Much to our embarrassment my father-in-law told him this! He told us that he'd even been offered a pint in the local bar by women thinking he was cdb. Anyway he was a very nice chap and the visit to Dalkey is very interesting!

*** PLEASE HELP ***

Dear Chris!

Me and my girl friend are loving your music and especially your new album.

I bought 2 tickets for your concert in Stuttgart (18th of may) as a gift for her birthday. Unfortunately she has to work. The only possible date is the concert in Mannheim (20th of may), but there are no tickets left to buy. ;-(

She is an violinist in a theater orchestra, so I am sure you now, how difficult it is, to have a free evening for such a great concert.

So what can we do??
Is there any possibility to get 2 extra tickets for Mannheim? Is here anybody who would change his 2 Mannheim tickets against 2 Stuttgart tickets?
PLEASE HELP US!!!

Thanks a lot, if anybody can help.

Yours,

Oliver

PS: My girl friend has one big dream! She wants to play the violin once in your orchestra at a concert. Please tell me if there is a casting, or how you are finding the musicians for your tours.

Dear Chris 1, Chris 2 and Kenny!
It’s Easter Sunday and having just listened to Chris’ (1s) interview at the "Alte Patrone" in Mainz/Germany I want to say that it was great fun and a lovely day to remember!
And being reminded of the fact that it was only one event among lots of others on your unbelievable promotion tour I suddenly had this vision of the three of you sitting in an igloo studio of "Radio North Pole" after yet another radio show, waiting to jump on a dog sleigh to leave in a rush for "Iceberg Television"... ;-) Well I hope you’re NOT, but spend the time together with your families and friends at home or on a tropical island – and RELAX :-)
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter

Hi

1977 - my friend who had just come from South Africa played me Far Beyond These Castle Walls. I then spent a lot of years being asked "Chris dewhat? Who?" I've hung on in there and introduced many folk to the music! 27 years! I must account for a few album sales by now... Even my 78 year old mother waits for new albums with baited breath!

Was it '88 or'89 I dragged my new husband, his sister and her husband to Wembley Arena for a concert? We were upstairs and wondered why there was a section of empty seats in the stalls when the whole concert was sold out. Just before Chris came on stage a red-headed woman appeared! Her friends and security men used a lot of seats.... A post script to that story is that my sister in law and husband had recently seen Michael Jackson in Milton Keynes Bowl and said that his concert didn't even come close to being so enjoyable. Another 2 fans enroled!

Congratulations to Rosanna on her recent win. I remember when she was born! How scary is that in terms of the years that have passed?

Jacquie, Glasgow
