Chris De Burgh has been since 1975 one
of my favourite singer and songwriter in pop music. A number one hit in my country his first hit was flying from
" behind these castle walls " and since
this time he has been a real and good
inspiration in my life. Thanks Chris for the beautiful work you make. Rafael.

I was introduced to your music in the mid 80's by a friend. And have LOVED the emotion and passion of the music ever since. My fav. songs are 'Head and Heart' and recently 'For Roseanna' which I sang every day while I was pregnant and for months after the birth of my son.

Hope someday I can coordinate time and money for a trip to Europe for one of your concerts.

Continue to entertain....

Good Day All,

This is a strange story, but in the spring of 2000 I was snooping through this web site, and just because the mood moved me, I sent a mail to one of the 'fans' listed. We kept in touch, well more than that. This June of 2003 I married Leandri and now I live with the most beautiful Chris De Burgh fan in the world. Who would have thought that this man and this site would have brought two people together from opposite sides of the world to be married and live a dream life.

Thank you all.

Hello :-)
I´m back online after times with hard work and children who were "not easy" - but now moved into the new house! The last weeks it was your music which gave me the energy I needed to manage all these things at home. Often I took some time to hear your music to relax some minutes or to cool down after a hard day. I can only say "Your voice strokes the soul" (hope I translated it right).
I hope that I can manage to visit some of the next concerts in Germany to take my brake from everyday life and enjoy some great hours with other fans and your music.
And I will try to find a possibility to take René(8) with me - we tried to take him with us to Siegen but could not make it possible there. Now he hopes for next time - that we can manage to take him with us with the conditions he need. Until that day he hears your music everywhere in the house, while driving with me in the car...
I heared the first CdeB-songs when I was 11 years - it´s now 23 years ago.
Thank your for so many years with fantastic songs, which are touching the heart.
All the best
Ina

Dear Chris,
two weeks ago I saw you in the 'Chart Show' on RTL.
When you recited a part of 'Lady in Red' in German,
that was so 'schön': especially the way you said
'Wange an Wange' ...so lovable!
At the end of your visit you thanked all the people
who attended your concerts and bought your albums all
over the years.

I think, it's our turn to say 'Thank you' to YOU.
So I want to say

Thanks for unforgettable concerts and great performances
(thanks also to the boys in the band),
for songs full of emotions,
for all piano and guitar chords you gave,
for emotional atmospheres and each additional song you did
at the end of the concerts,
for so much sympathy and smiles which you have always shown the audience,
for all albums you recorded,
in advance for each of the thousands of concerts you intended to give
next year in Germany (when? where?..) :-) hope so..., I just can't wait!
for 'Man on the Line' and the time you spend on it answering,
for such a good website (thanks to the webmasters, too),
in advance for your new album (I want it, I want it now....)

All the best for you, take care ....

There is still so much to say ..., but .....transmission ends ......

Thanks for taking me back to Berlin…as many of you asked for the end of my entry, I’ll try that again as far as I remember it:

I'm sending greetings from inside a deep, black hole and I'm sitting here with many others...I never saw a real "last" concert, always had another one to look forward to. But this time, in Coburg, when we heard "Snows of New York" we – especially me, I’m afraid – started to hug and even cry a bit, as we don’t even have months to count down…please give us a light at the end of the tunnel, I need some good news!

@ Chris (W):
“Going through the motions” :-)

@ Chris (deB):
”I heard a voice, so pure and easy”…I’ve downloaded some of her songs, you’re right. I don’t like all of the songs, but I know what you mean. And I’m sure angels can cry…

Take care all you Chrisses out there!

I first heard your wonderful music after my Mum bought a "Best of" tape with "In a country churchyard" after doing Keep Fit to it! I have loved your music ever since, and bought all your albums. Your music is so strong emotionally it always has the ability to move me to tears of joy or sadness. I think you are a great performer on stage - I have been fortunate enough to see you 3 times at Birmingham NEC over the years. Your concerts are like great big parties where we can all join in :-) I dreamt of you last night (out of the blue!) that you were singing in a small venue, and that I got to chat to you and get a photo and autograph for my Mum. If only it were true.....
Keep on writing and singing the songs we all love...

For the attention of Shadowgirl!

Please don't stay in that black hole - just close your eyes and relish the memories...e.g. Berlin - ahhhhhhhhh..
I'm back there already!

Now start dreaming - 2004 is just a word away - really!!

Feeling any better?

Please send again to this Guestbook as the end of your message got lost and I for one would love to know what it reads!

P.S. For the attention of Chris de Burgh!

Please can you do any more to help this poor girl come out of her black hole?!!

Thanks!

Went to see Chris in Montreal, Canada back in May of this year - 2003. A mere 411 miles is nothing when you have been waiting since the mid 80s to see him! I went with 3 of my closest friends & fans and also my boyfriend, who is a new convert. First time he heard him was at the concert and he LOVED IT!

We have always wanted to see him and thought it would be amazing if we could see him do an acoustic set, which is exactly what he did at the show. I can't express how wonderful an experience this was. It was a dream come true and he sounded fantastic.

Chris, you MUST realize that you have fans in the USA. Come back and sing for us sometime!

Hej Chris,

There is a woman going allone by the
sea.
She remember the early days when she
was young.
And the last evening when she and
her lover was up on the montains and
the red sun go down in the sea.
And they must say, not godby like the
oders want them to say,but someday,
sometimes, somewere we will.....
He was young but she was younger and
he was her only lover.
Then so many things come in her live
and everything she have was only that
dream he gave her.
Even when the wind come from north
Now so many years have past away
from the time when he was running out
there. And she must stay, but still
the memorie´s are there and the
wonder if the summer is over now,and
if this is the end of a perfect day.

Hi MR. De Burgh
when i was young, my brother used to put me in his arms, and turn the tape on, i was hearing a beatiful songs, and a voice, full of power, softness, feelings. i confess that 1st i didn't understand what is the meaning of the song, but i heared the songs 1 time &2&3&4and more that this.
i tried to sing it, until i became, 10 years old, and i memorize my favorate song" carry me (like a fire in ur heart)". i like this song very much.
Thank u MR. De Burgh, for this song, thank u 100000000times.
i love u mr. de burgh.
and as i always say, i hope u like lebanese nights, and lebanese people.
when i learned how to use the net, i wanted to enter the website of chris de burgh, i didn't know that it is "cdeb.com" i quickly typed "chrisdeburgh.com" but i didn't c anything, until my brother told me, that the website is cdeb.com, and now, every time i use the net, i enter to this incridible website.
god bless u.

Hiya Chris !!
Thank you for 2 more great concerts, in Kamenz and Coburg last weekend. It was a hectic weekend with loads of travelling to do, but all well worth it:-))I cannot even hazard a guess at how many miles I have travelled this year from England to Germany and back 3 times....but it must run into the hundreds or thousands !! Reminds me....i must ask the hospital bosses for a bigger pay rise next year ;-) doubt i'll get it tho :-( Or better still, the bank manager for a bigger overdraught !!
But seriously I've had a great summer, especially last weekend when we were all 'girls' together...we had a ball.... Claudia, Ilka, Andrea, Dany and myself !! I'm still trying to recover some lost sleep now !!!
I think you 'loved' Andreas and my little 'sexiest most attractive man' sign we gave you ;-) and it was so funny when you sang, 'I've got the roses, I've got the wine, I'm the sexiest man alive :-))))))))))) Sure made Coburg a very memorable end of tour concert !!
And of couse, I will never look at 'The Best That Love Can Be' in the same light again .......especially the 'going through the motions' line ;-) and 'I will keep my memories' or should it be m........ ;-)
Now I and the rest or 'your travelling band' are back at work, and going through the 'motions'to earn some more
money ready for next year !!!!!
You are simply the best :-)))))
Love and Hugs,
Chris xxx

thanks for the wonderful weekend with 3 great concerts and lots of funny stories around...more than 2000 kilometers to drive, but without any doubt it was all worth it. BTW , "Road to freedom" with the guitar was really amazing.
Your " band " will be on holiday now , but... we will return...as soon as possible.
The "...going through the motions..." will always put a big smile on my face ( again a double big smile to Chris W., Andrea and Claudi... ).
And you were right, my "ice-train" for the way back home was very, very fast...

Take care...see you next time.

I just wanted to say that I was really surprised to meet you in the bar of our hotel in Coburg. After that amazing concert I would never disturb your privacy and so I was surprised twice as you recognized me as one of your audience.
I just want to add that the whole night was more than "the biggest party in Germany" and hope to see (and hear) you in the next spring here in Germany again.
Btw, while you sang "road to freedom" I was thrilled completely and look foreward to listen to more "deeper" CdeB-lyrics!!!

Hi Chris!
The Konzert in Ludwigslust on Saturday was just grand. The firework afterwards and the castle with the lovely wide garden was beautiful, a little bit like Powerscourt Gardens in the Wicklows.
Have you seen the clouth with the writing "You music is my paradise"? It was mine. And I ment it that way. When I hear your music and I close my eyes, it is as if I where somewhere else. When I listen to music, it is connected to the situation where I listened to it. For example I heard the "This way up"-CD 1994 on my first trip through Irland, and so it will ever be connected with the beautiful landscapes of Irland (Aran Islands, Giants Causeway,...).
Take care and hope to see/hear you soon.

Monday morning at work after the concerts in Ludwigslust and Coburg - tired to death after 1.500 kilometers in two days but still a smile on my face. The concerts are fun again - just like back in the "good old times" with the "good old band"; although I´ll never understand why C.A. tried to send us back to our seats after "Lady in red" for the first time in Coburg (and after having been trained to run after the song for months!!!).

Dear Mr Deburgh,

I have to admit that it is thanks to my dad that I even got to hear your music. Since I can remember, as a kid, I'd listen to your songs as my dad played them in the car or at home. I eventually "inherited" all of the old tapes he had and eventually bought all on CD. It was like a dream when I got to see you LIVE at the Molson Center in Montreal 3 or 4 years ago.

I just want to say "Thank You" for giving me and every one else the opportunity to hear your amazing songs and stories you are by far one of ( if not THE ) greatest musicians there ever was.

God Bless You.

AND KEEP THOSE GREAT SONGS COMING ! :)
