Better late than never...
I was in Stadtlohn on July 12th and it was the second time I was on a concert from Chris.
It was unbelievable for me that someone like Chris de Burgh would sing in this small town!
Surely it wasn't wat you expected, Chris: roundabout 2.500 people is only a small audience. But it was great - I enjoyed this concert very much! And I'm still an "old" fan and I will stay your fan for the next 10 - 20 years!!!

Dear Chris,
There have been a lot of doubts in my
life, although I am modest. Your songs
helped me to destroy them. Thank you for that.
I love in particular: "Sailor, Carry Me, Same Sun, Bal Masque ...". And your new song "Road To Freedom" is really great, fantastic and powerful. So I'm looking forward to another new song: "Kiss Me From A Distance".
And I want to say, that I always like reading the "Getaway Gazette".

You are working so much.
All the best.
Love Gerlinde.

Hi Chris,

again a great concert in Künzelsau, with lots of friends in a special atmosphere.I wish the summer tour would never end...so what will your "band" do after the end of the tour ?? Be sure we are ready for the next one in 2004...

Thanks again, for recognizing me in the "Babarossakeller" in von Stetten's castle, and for the small talks we had in that special atmosphere.
You are gorgeous,too... and be sure we will always support you wherever you go.

See you for last 3 concerts in august.

Take care,
Yours Dany

Hi Chris !!
Well what can we say.....another great concert at Kuenzelsau last night, from the best "music man" we know !!!! the sound was superb, the voice in very good form, (and hopefully ours was as well !!!!) We enjoy being part of your band !!!!!!What a shock to be let down the front as early as LIR, but still we managed to get to the stage just in time, even if we were a little squashed. Hope you enjoyed "our wine" when you finally saw it being held up by us !!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you again at the end of August :-)))))
Love Andrea, Chris and Angelika.
PS: Just from Chris.......you will never know the lengths I went to to get to this concert ;-)

Dear Chris,
This "Girl" with you would like to go
To Ireland "Where Peaceful Waters Flow".
I would cross the "Borderline"
And meet you in Ireland anytime.

A 'Heli' ride to "Getaway"
For me would be "A Perfect Day".
I promise you I'll "Hold On" tight
Then I'll be happy to say "Goodnight".

I can't promise "Blonde Hair, Blue Jeans"
But, Chris, do you know what that means?
If you choose this slim 5'5" Scots lass,
What you get is a Touch of Class!
(and fun too!)

Your "Friend Forevermore"
Jacqueline

P.S. Can't wait to see you in Lugwigslust.

Hi Chris,

useless to say that I am among all the others who would like to join you in your helicopter - perhaps you should start a business from that: "De BurghÄs fliying circus" - I guess you would have a very successful time!!!

I have no special argument why you should choose me of all people to fly with you, and I think, buttering you up wouldn't help anyway... I listen to your songs since the release of "Best moves" (I think I was about 10 years old then and took away the LP from my sister... hope she doesn't read this!), and ever since then I spend my life with your music and bring myself up again when I am down. You helped me to cope with the death of my mother, you joined us (musically) at our marriage and for sure you will be with me for the rest of my life.

Thanks for being you!

Hi Chris.

I thought it was about time I dropped you a line.

Reading all the reviews of your concerts in Canada and Germany have made me and other Aussies green with envy, especially now as we've been told that your albums are not being released here in Australia and we have to purchase them on line. I still live in hope of seeing you in concert 'Down Under', you have many, many fans here that would love to see you.

I hope you enjoyed the fudge.

I just want to say how much I enjoy your music, and hope that you will consider coming "Downunder" in the not too distant future.

Also, I think the helicopter ride that you are planning for some lucky person is a great idea, even though we can't participate from Australia.
Your generosity towards your fans is really amazing.

Best Wishes,

Hi Chris,

I noticed through the other guestbook entries, that you're offering one lucky person a trip in your helicopter. I hope I still have a chance to be considered the lucky one! I might even get to see an ariel view of my old home town and see how much it has changed since I left 20 years ago!

Your presence in Corner Brook is still a strong memory for me, and will remain so for a long time. I was just recovering from surgery and meeting you in person, and hearing you sing, play piano and guitar was the lift my spirit needed. "You were amazing..."
You signed my CDB piano book- songs that I hadn't played in a long time, but the book still remains on my piano today and the piano is being played again!

Thanks for your inspiration.

your concert in Berlin Gendarmenmarkt (one of the most beautiful sites in Europe)was a really wonderful experience, even if it was different from the previous concerts in ICC or Deutschlandhalle. Hope to see you next year.

I was at your concert in Berlin - Gendarmenmarkt yesterday night. It was my second Chris de Burgh - concert and it was as fantastic as the first one.
The atmospere yesterday was a special one because of the historical place where your concert took place and because of the fantastic weather. It was really romantic. And of course, your music was great again and so were the band and the orchestra. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for "Snows of New York" as an encore again - it is one of my favourite songs.

Karlsruhe was our first concert and it was really fantastic. The show, the music and the band were great. Thank good there were not so many people as I expected, so it was not so crowded, more like a big family. And I was able to see to the stage, as I am not one of the tallest...

Thanks for a really good concert, next time we will be there again.

Hi Chris,

thanks for the great time I had with so many friends in Siegen ( especially Nicole with the little unborn baby-probably the youngest fan around there!) Mainz , Freiburg and Karlsruhe ( were Ela and Jutta gave "your book of life" to you..)
In Freiburg (with Andrea, and Carmen) it was fantastic to have fun in between a very reserved audience in the first row, "the crazy right side". But ! we did not care about their "murmuring and the talks about us ".We had our own party with you.( A big "thanks" again for telling the security that it is ok to stay in front of the stage).

So,without you and you music all these special events could never ever happen.

See you in Bonn and Künzelsau, and of course at the end of August for the last 3 concerts of the summer tour.

Shine on,
Dany

I never thought that a man like Chris de Burgh would play in such a small town (17000 people). He played almost two hours as the fifth band of the open-air-festival. He was the best of all.

Hi Chris,

thanks a lot for the fabulous evening we (Dani, Carmen, Hans-Ulrich and myself) had in Freiburg yesterday.
Though the audience seemed to be stiff we girls sitting in the front row on the very right side had a great time clapping and singing along. We did not care that we were the only ones there.
And thank you so much for taking the time to sign our photos and letting us take some pictures. It meant a lot to us.
Take care and see you again next Sunday (we can hardly wait),

Wanted to see you ever since i was a kid and finally got to back in May, it was everything i dreamed and more. (was a little disappointed I didn't get to hear The Painter, an all time favourite of mine). Second row and got some awesome pictures, too bad my husband deleted them...didnt speak to him for days. I know I will always have the memories and hopefully one day I will experience it again. Paula in NB

FANfare and drum role please!
>>> CHRIS IS BACK !! <
BR>
Of course the FANcy took us ("oldfriendforevermore" and me) to go attend the first two shows of the German tour...
And still, after all these years, as always we got exactly what we had expected: first-rate entertainment and yet more nights to remember!
2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!!

Thank you Chris for giving us a taste of some of the brand-new stuff, too! Just to hear this was well worth the time, money and effort to get there.
The song that has made a particularly strong impression on me is "Road To Freedom" - very moving and powerful and musically fascinating! It is generally hard to remember a song you've listened to only once or twice. But the mood and the words of this one are still very present. "I feel the wind blowing through my doorway..." - the vivid images really worked, although the tent in Mainz was hot & cosy and very peaceful ;) !
Parts of the other songs linger as well, especially of the one dedicated to Eva Cassidy. - Simply beautiful!
Can't wait to hear the finished album versions... - but stop, do I sound insatiable again ;) ?!? (Well, I am in fact...)

Now looking forward to Karlsruhe on Sunday and to seeing you team up with the band again :) ! Looks like this is going to be another raving party - coooooooooooool :D !

Let's keep FANning the flames!

Hi Chris!
What a lovely evening we had in Augsburg yesterday. Nice location, great weather and fab choice of songs. Indeed you do not need a band with your voice and your skills on piano and guitar! So good to have finally seen you performing the way I've always wanted to. Much appreciated.
Love, Light and a big smile
Sabine.

Hello Chris,
We visited your fantastic concert in Siegen last weekend. We are fans of your music since the early vinyl era when the spaceman came travelling…

It was a wonderful event and we enjoyed the selection of your songs and your performance.
We are searching for a video or DVD of one of your live concerts. Unfortunately we are not successful. It seems, that no video exists. It would be very very nice if you would release such a video of one of your live concerts in the near future. We suppose that many of your fans have such a wish…

Thanks again for the great evening
and best regards out of the Rubens town Siegen

Thank you for a wonderful romantic concert in Augsburg last night in the little theatre. The warm summer evening in combination with the "old" songs was an event I will never forget. I have seen every concert since 1980, but this one was very special. Thank you very very much for that!!

Well, I was at your concert in Montreal this may, went there with my two sisters and there you were, alone on the stage, more then a whole band, you carried on into other worlds with your songs, we laughed, cried, sang and stamped our feet, she danced and screamed for more, it was so short.

You spoke to us like old friends, and if you only knew how your words speak to me, to all of us that understand what you are telling this crazy world we live in.
I remember how you spoke of the restaurants you had gone to have supper at and I was thinking I should invite you for supper,,,aaaaaaah...a dream.

But I was struck by your presence, and your lyrics, your voice, when I told my older brothers,(they are the ones that listened to you and introduced you into our home)and now my twenty three year sister too is a fan of yours, she brought me to see you, I realized that your music transcends generations, because, my ten year old daughter has one disc. It is Your Spark to a Flame , and her favorite song is Borderline...amazing.

Keep on writing for us and please keep on singing and speaking for those who cannot do so. We love you.

Dear Chris!
Thank you for the great concert yesterday in Siegen - my husband and I had so much fun! Thanks too for A. who managed to give René´s painting from Bargy Castle and the F1-Cars to you! René is 8 years and he is autism. He wanted to go with me to the concert - I phoned to "Joko" to try to get a place to sit a little bit outside with him so that I could take him with me (and he would not disturb other peole with his sterotypes etc.), but unfortunately they could not make this possible. Maybe we can make it possible for him at a concert in the future. But when I told him, that you got his painted picture, he was very glad!
Hope to see you again on tour and all the best to you and your family!
Ina

Most recently, a person I sincerely respect and, I am proud to say, a friend of mine, was deeply touched and moved along with her friend by your performance in Mtl at the Olympia theater. It reminded me of my own "epiphany" when I had seen you in Mtl years back. You are a very generous person but above all your inspiration comes across as lessons of life... Be it conscious or not, you are delivering very relevant messages through your gift. Does your inspiration have its roots or part of in your dreams ... My friend did point out to me the story behind the Lebanese Night song, so I know part is real life but why I ask is that your "teachings", if I may use the word, are so in tune with the people that, like the virtuoso of our world, the talent must have roots that transcend your learned life... more as a messenger ... Another point that I also wonder about is the great relevance of your work with faith itself still little if not no reference is made to it in your lifetime work... For me its like if all along you were talking about something through all your songs during all those years but never actually mentioned directly that faith drives all of humanity... omission ?? again conscious or not ?? Do you ever wonder about what drives your level of inspiration to such an exact level of coherence with human reality ??

My heart felt gratitude for my friend's experience and bless you for being. Luc

I first heard Chris when I was working in Europe for Contiki travel. I have enjoyed his ballads and I have many of his cd's which I have been only able to get as imports. But I am always on the lookout for any of his new songs. I do prefer his newer songs to his older ones from the 80's. My goal is to go up to Canada for one of his concerts. Having been to Volendam many times I remember the events that happened to that lovely seaside town. I purchased the DVD and I enjoy watching it. I would like to see a DVD of one of his concerts though.I hope that someone will arrange that in the future.
