Hi Chris, I was 10 years old when I first listened to you(into the light)and fell for your music, now I'm 25, I have all your albums, I love all your songs without exception and you're the only person in the world that I'd die to meet. Never had the chance to see you in a concert, but I will be in Berlin on 15th of July so I can't wait for it. It's a dream come true!!I didn't watch you on TV about the heli-ride, but I read it here.It doesn't have to be on the heli, but meeting you in person would be the gift of my life.(so count me in)
Your songs are always there for me when I need inspiration, when I need to getaway, when I'm happy, or to comfort me when I'm filled with sorrow. You're a bleesing to me and to all the world. So, God Bless you. See you in Berlin!

Dear Mr de Burgh
i know your musik sice "spanish train" i can say that i was a big fan of your musik..in general i prefered your songs till 1999. after this date the musik got a little bit to commercial for me but that´s just my oppinion maybe i´m wrong. I wanted to thank y for your great songs y cant´t imagine how much y helped me with your musik to handle difficult situations in work and live. everyday i see people dying (i´m a md) your musik gives me the strengh to handle my feelings in such situations also in privat live which is also not that easy.. i work in a different country so i can understand your songs "carry me.." and "leather on my shoes" very well.. if i have to chose those are the last that i´ll listen to.. Thank you very much for everything !!

Hi Chris,

I went to your (notorious) show last year in Rotterdam (Neth.). First show I ever saw from you. I wanted to see you years ago when performing in Utrecht (Neth.) together with Fleetwood Mac. Unfortunately I ended up in a traffic jam but the sound of your performance carried to the car and I must say I did enjoy the music.
Anyway this was your first show I did see. I was together with my girl friend who only knew one song (Lady in red of course). We were amazed by your live performance, what a great wonderful perfect show. My girl and I have seen some 20 live shows by various artists (Like Live, Golden Earring, Red Hot, Springsteen, Bon Jovi etc) but we liked your show best.
Currently I’m keeping an eye on your tour schedule to visit another show. But this time we like to see you when performing in your home country.

Again amazing performance by you and your band.

Thanks for the wonderful evening. And hopefully see you soon.

Dear Chris,
It was an honor and a pleasure talking to you and hearing you sing at the restaurant(the name escapes me) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In fact, it was the highlight of our (my sister and I) trip.Being from Boston we have only been exposed to a limited number of your wonderful songs. I only hope that one day you will venture to Beantown and show everyone here what they have been missing. You are truly a great artist but, more importantly, an incredible human being. You really touched us! Thanks again for the great conversation. Our only regret was that we had such an early flight!!

Dear Chris,
When are you coming back to America!! I have been a fan since I was 12 and now I'm 33, dare I say. And I actually saw you in concert September 1, 1984 in California, which is where I am from originally, at Marriott's Great America( northern CA-an hourish from SF). My older brother escorted me as it was my first concert ever. I ran as fast as I could and made it in the first row! I just have to say your music got me through some very tough high school years. Your music was my comfort and my haven. And that hasn't changed. Bless you.

Hi Chris,
I saw your concert on May 29/03 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, and I met you at the Holiday Inn pub afterwards. I gave you a napkin to get your autograph but instead you signed a picture of yourself, thank-you so very much for that. Chris your music touches my soul,I listen to a Chris de Burgh CD everyday when I take a stroll through the wilderness in my beautiful city and you help me see the beauty of my surroundings. Thank-you again for lifting my spirits.

To Chris

"Come jump on a helicopter ride with me,
I'll take you high up into the sky!"
And oh, how your eyes are shining with glee,
happy so many sign the guestbook to try... (chuckle)

For many years have you been in our hearts,
singing your songs and playing your part.
A lot of people you've touched with your words,
thus healing many who have been hurt.
This is your task,
it's what you have come to do,
and in the most wonderful way
you made the promise come true.
A promise you made a long time ago,
to come and set right what once went wrong.
Armed with your lyrics
and the healing vibes in your voice,
all I can say is: "What a marvellous choice!"

Love, Light and the greatest of Joy
always,
Sabine.

Thank you so much for the wonderful concert in London, Ont. I have been a fan since I was thirteen and saw the video for don't pay the ferryman on WTBS NiteTracks. The trip to the concert was my anniversery gift from my husband. The concert was a dream come true, and the icing on the cake was when you shook my hand as you left the stage. We have a thirteen year old daughter who has started enjoying your music and constantly filches my cd's. Bless you for all the years of music that has uplifted and carried me thru the good times and bad.

Dear Chris!
I'm sorry I didn't see the TV-show about your helicopter on RTL. Of course I also would very much love to fly with you in your helicopter!!!!
If your homepage-team would have informed your fans about your appearence in German TV I certainly wouldn't have missed to see you and to tape the show on video.

I'm a fan of you since 20 years I think, but on October the 26th 2002 I saw you for the first time live in Oberhausen!!!! It was a great concert! First I was a bit sad to sit so far away from the stage, but after 1 hour I went to the front and could see you singing near to me. It was a funny feeling, like being alone with you and your band in one room, in spite of there being 9000 other fans beside me.
Since then I listen to your songs nearly every day and also play them with my guitar.

I'm sure, you won't choose me for your helicopter-flight, but I hope you'll soon come back to Oberhausen, where this time I'll buy tickets for seats in the first row!!!!

Go on writing such nice songs!!!!

Doris

Good Luck to all Chris's fans in Germany with regard to the helicopter ride. I had a helicopter trip some years ago (though sadly not with Chris) and it was brilliant. Maybe Chris could make the same offer again during the next UK tour. I would pay for the pleasure with donations to charity maybe.

Looking forward to the new album, hope you are working hard Chris.

Hello Chris

I wanted to tell you that last Saturday I surprised my mother on the occasion of her 75th birthday with a ticket to the concert at Harbour Station, Saint John. It will go down in memory as perhaps, the best concert I have yet to see and my mother absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for sharing your music and your sense of humour to make my mum's birthday a most memorable and enjoyable time for both of us. Cheers!

Hello Chris,

There's no way I can top all of the comments that I've read so far...it is quite astonishing that so many people feel the same way that I do!

Your Ottawa concert was wonderful and as always, you exceeded my expectations.

The best I can do to thank you is to continue to buy your CD's, attend your concerts and ensure that my children are exposed to your music.

Already, at 8 and 10 years of age, they are very big fans...Unfortunately, they've not forgiven me for not taking them to your Ottawa concert. Perhaps you'll give me a chance to redeem myself with them...they will not be disappointed.

Many thanks for returning to Ottawa.

Heather

What a wonderfull month I just pass. Attending some of your concerts in Canada I must say there were fantastics. All of them had something different but all full of love, passion and intimate. You really don't need musicians to cover your beautifull voice. It is amazing and the message in your song is so strong and true, everyone can relate to them, or most of them. Nobody understant my sister and I when we talk about the concert but I always repond to them :
Gaz to get at all Cdeb concert : 130$
6 ticket for CdeB show :400$
Time spent with my sister listening to CdeB live : priceless
Take care and hope You will come back to Canada some day,
Stephanie

Greetings Chris,

My name is Joanne and like everyone else who writes to you - I love your work. I don't intend to tell you that you are the greatest man alive since I don't know you - the real Chris, that is - and besides I am already living with the greatest man alive :-). My intent was rather to tell you that you are a "true success" regardless of any charts. You are very lucky to be able to do a job which you obviously enjoy so much and make the world a better place because of it. Here's my favourite poem which I felt appropriate at this time; especially the last line ".....to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. That is to have succeeded."

Success

To laugh often and much
To win the respect of intelligent people
And the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation
of honest critics and endure
the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life
has breathed easier
because you have lived.
That is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

After attending many of your concerts (the latests being in Montréal and Ottawa on May 16 and 17th), it always leaves me with a strange feeling inside which is hard to explain. The warmth and truth of your songs can easily reach the souls of your fans and of anyone who stops long enough to really listen. Your words are honest and you appear so genuine and caring. It is no wonder the room is filled with such warmth - both ways. Very rare and truly remarkable! To be able to give and share of one's self so openly is a true gift to the world. I have seen few artists who seem to remain so true to themselves and remember who they really are. Surely, you are flawed like the rest of us and you are not afraid to admit to this. That makes you one of us - like everyone else in the crowd.

To understand and care about the human condition such as wars and peace, divorce, pain, death and the trials and tribulations of love without being afraid of the common opinions is the sign of a strong person. I can only emulate; not in world-wide tours like you but in every day actions. I may only be a public servant (who loves to write); yet I strongly believe that if each and every one of us makes one small loving gesture towards a stranger every day, the world would be a better place. That is my dream!

I am not one to get impressed easily; yet your performances and messages remain deep within me. Yours is the only music which I bring with me on my many long walks alone with nature in search of serenity.

"You may have visited and left our towns but you never really leave a place you love, part of it you take with you, leaving a part of yourself behind. :-) "

Milles mercis,

Joanne

Your songs have touched me for many years now. I'd still cry a few tears to some of them.I've just recently converted my dad to listening to a few of your songs. he thinks "Patricia The Stripper" is brilliant, as do I. Now I'll be 30 at the end of this month and my dad is 70 past in April, so there is no age bracket you can't conquer.
You are great, keep it up.
Good Luck

Hi beautiful voice!

What a tremendous, outstanding performance you gave in Montreal!!!You are amazing!!I still feel your music through my whole body.
As I sat down to see my first patient this morning,I heard your voice! The radio started playing "lady in red".Amazing isn't it??
I laughed and thanked my angels :" What a wonderful way to start my day !" Of course I couldn't concentrate during the whole song, as I was flying through my memories!!
You are a wonderful and very special man,I should say "unique", who was gifted to be a true "messenger of love" around the world! Thank you soooooooo much for all the energy you create by sharing love, dreams and emotions!
Warm thoughts and hugs,
I miss you....

Chris,
Did I really miss the chance to meet you in person in St. John's, Newfoundland? My friend called me the day after your concert and said that you asked for Siobhan Foley and her mom to come back stage. That's just too unbelievable. Did that really happen?
I live 6 hours away from St. John's and my travel plans fell through at the last minute!! My loss was my friend's gain.Just my luck.
I am still a HUGE fan and look forward to seeing you in concert again realy soon.

God bless
Maureen

Your performance here at the Mile One on Friday, May 30/03 was wonderful, of course I knew it would be. It would be a pleasure to see you again next year.

Hello, dear Chris
I`m happy I`ve got a chance to talk to you. Here are three reasons why I love your magnificent music:
1. Your voice is wonderful and very different from other singers`voice. I think you should be very thankful to God for such a gift He has given to you .
2. The melodies are so beautiful , peaceful and clever.Even somebody who doesn`t understand English can well enjoy the music, but if one does know the language,he or she finds out that there is always a relationship between the melodies and the things you say in your songs.
3. You talk about important things in your songs , and you talk sincerely.
Many singers have singed about love or war or... but they have been immitators , that`s why they just come and go,leaving no memories,no change.
4. You haven`t worked only for your fans. You have worked for your own heart and spitit. That is the only way one can produce heart-touching works.
Dear Chris de Burgh, you`ve got so many fans here in Iran, and we will always love you and your music even if we never get the chance to see you in our country. I wish you a very very long life so that you can sing more beautiful songs to give people hope and ecstacy. THANKYOU AND GOODLUCK.

Chris, I know it's a bit later now, but I would like to say that the concert that you held in the Canada Games Center on May 29th was one of the greatest musical experiences I've ever witnessed, and probably will ever witness! Your performances of "Don't Pay The Ferryman," "A Spaceman Came Travelling," and "Spanish Train" will stand out in my mind forever. I sincerely hope that from this tour, there will spring a live CD or DVD, because hearing you alone, performing the songs the way they were written was truly an amazing experience! Once again, I thank you, and I hope to see you again, here on earth, or at St. Peter's gates!!! Thanks again!!!

I've been a big fan of yours since the late 1970's and I've been to all the concerts I could since then and this year is no exception. My husband and I drove to Halifax on May 28th to see you and were so impressed with your concert that we went home and purchased tickets for your Saint John concert last night which was just as fantastic.

I always find it amazing that thousands of people can gather at one concert hall and for a couple of hours, we all become part of the same moment in time. All of our pasts collide within that one moment when we all scream out "Don't do it!" in Ferryman, or sing the "la la la's" in Peaceful Waters or spontaneously leap to our feet at the sound of the first words of "Patricia the Stripper". Thank you so much for 25 years of providing me with the music that has been the background to so many moments of my life. I hope you return to Canada soon to promote your next album!

PS...Is there a way that we can buy a t-shirt or sweat-shirt online since your products weren't available at the Saint-John Concert?

It's a nice warm night here in Epping Forest, Essex! Just to say that I am sitting high up on my victorian garden steps with my candles alight - staring out at the stars and the shadows of the beautiful trees which surround me whilst I listen to 'There's Room In This Heart Tonight' and other Cdeb songs - ahhh perfect!

Miss you lots!!

I just want to say thanks for the amazing show you put on at Harbour Station last night. The overall feeling was that of a group of friends knocking back a few at the pub. About the only thing that could have made the night more perfect would have been to hear "Broken Wings" and "All the Love I Have Inside", but with so many wonderful songs to choose from, it is inevitable that some must be omitted, or we'd all be there still (ok, what's the downside to that thought?)The inclusion of "The Tower" was a very welcome surprise.
It had been over 25 years since my last CdeB show...1977 , opening for Supertramp in Moncton. We arrived late on that night, and having missed the introductions, had no idea who you were until you introduced "Spanish Train", and I thought "oh, it's THAT guy!". Your music captivated me that night and has yet to let go. Thank you for the many fine moments thru the years, and please come back to Saint John soon. Continued success to you!!

Dear Chris:

I am just arriving back home from your concert in Saint John, NB last night where I was deeply moved. I think I cried for the first 45 minutes. The intimate setting was so wonderful and all I could think of when I was there was; "My God, he's RIGHT THERE!" My girlfriends found my lack of speach to be quite entertaining as I'm rarely at a loss for words. We were 3rd row centre and we danced and sang and cried. I have always said what a truly important influence you've had on my life since I was a young 15 years old. It's 20 years later, and last night it was brought to a whole new level. You're an amazing entertainer, with an incredible gift for reaching out and embracing your audience. Your music has touch my soul and as I lay my head on the pillow last night, I thanked God for all you've brought to me. You'll never know how you've helped fill an emptiness in my heart left by so many. Thank you.

I do so hope you are able to come back to New Brunswick and I do hope you come to Moncton. I would love to be able to have the opportunity to win or obtain (somehow)a backstage pass. I would love to be able to look to you and personally say; "Thank you!", though I fear the words would never make it out of my mouth.

I'm enjoying "Timing is Everything" and can't wait to hear more. God bless & keep you for the rest of your tour.

Sincerely,
Kelly

Chris,
What a wonderful concert you provided in St. John's on Friday night! T'was the first time that I have seen you perform and I echo the commentary of others on that score: you play your guts out. What a hoot! My wife loved hearing "A Spaceman Came Travelling" and "Ship To Shore". I loved them too, but particularly enjoyed "Transmission Ends" and "Head and the Heart"
You will always be welcome on our Island! Thanks for the great evening sir.

Hope you read this to say thank you for the most awesome concert I have ever witnessed last night in Saint John, NB in Canada. Your intimate setting was so powerful and it was just awesome. I even got my Archbishop to replace me as priest presiding Eucharist so I could go to the concert. Playing hooky with Chris DeBurgh! Can it get any better.
