Chris - please don't ever stop your concerts. What would there be left to look forward to in life!! I know what cloud 9 is : I go there after every concert I see, I'm really high! Thank you so much for all the energy you put into your shows, must be a drag sometimes, but it never shows. Your singing is wonderful and I never tire of listening to it and reliving the elation I feel at being at one of your concerts. Roll on November '02. Have loved you for years and years and need your music in my life. Take care, stay well and may you and your family always be happy. Thank you for the joy you give.

Dear Chris,
yet again a brilliant album and one my 7 year old daughter enjoys. Julia has been a 'fan' of yours since in the womb....before and during my pregnacy with her your songs/music helped me overcome some very difficult and dark times after the death of my dear dad (I didn't get chance to say goodbye) and your music was played constantly during my rather awful pregnancy which resulted in yet another beautiful daughter and another fan for you! Looking forward to seening you at your concert in Manchester and I'm sure others have been helped inspired by your music just as much as me. Gill

I have just been listening to Spanish Train and Man on the Line, what excellent stuff,I have not played them for so long,it's like listening to them for the first time again,I shan't let that happen again, that's for sure.
What gems- A Spaceman Came Travelling- The Tower-Just Another Poor Boy-The Head and the Heart-The Sound of a Gun.
Excellent, I must now obtain the new album asap.

Our family have been fans of yours for many years and we once did a three week trip around France listening to your music all The way. Many of your songs remind us of France. We lived there for three years after our initial touring trip. Wonderful music. Have been to see you in Concert and am attending NEC Concert in November. Our three children grew up on your music and still love it. They are now 20,21 and 22.
Can't wait for another of your concerts - they're brilliant
Kind regards,
The Beaumont family

Hi Chris!
Thank you for your concert in Grefrath yesterday. It was gorgeous! I have loved your music from the first moment on and it was the first time for me to see you live. I teach English for adults and I do not know for how many times we played your songs in the class and talked about the texts.
Your guitarists and all musicians are great, too.
Lots of greetings from Germany and keep on rocking
from Bea and a fellow also named Chris, but with four paws. For him it was a pity that he could not come to your show, because he always joins the English classes. And if he could speak ..

What a SUPERB concert in Dortmund yesterday!!! The new songs came over very well, Chris was in great voice and enjoyed himself and the performance.

I'm still High On Emotion on cloud No.7!!!

Just can't get enough of this fantastic music and the atmosphere among the audience...

I experienced a wide emotional spectrum during that concert: I laughed, I cried, I danced, I shouted, embraced the people around me, but most of all, I sang my heart out - and it just felt soooooo good!

Chris, PLEEEEAAAAASE never stop with your brilliant live performances!!!!!
We all love you so much!

To say it in "Abba's" words:
THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC,
THE SONGS I'M SINGING -
THANKS FOR ALL THE JOY THEY'RE BRINGING!!!

With Love from Germany,

Nicole :-)

Hi Chris,
still singing your songs this morning.Dortmund's always magic!Though this time we were bitterly disappointed of our seats. We've been soo... lucky (I thought) to get seats in the fifth row near stage. Yeah, lucky we've been sitting in front of the bass-box (forgetting our 'oro-pax')!So first part of the concert I've thought my ears would be blown off by the sound of the bassdrum and the bassguitar. That was nearly all we heard(ah,wrong word, all we felt)!I really began to curse the drummer and the bassguitar (shame on me)and with my pics (I too see pics to music)you could have made the new James Bond film:"What you're doing here, where's the microfilm?-Oh,I don't have any!-You must have it, so get in the bassbox, drummer and bassguitar and we'll see!" ;-)) And I swear after 15 min. with this torture Bond would have told them everything they wanted to know! ;-))
Anyway praise the accoustic part it really saved the concert for me. Especcially 'Borderline' and the 'New One' were magic!!!!And I felt it however was worth no to have left my seat before!
The party part then gave me the chance to escape from my seat(away from the bassbox)to get to dance in front of the stage singing my heart out.And weren't we great with singing?! Enjoyed it! :-))
On the whole it wasn't a bad concert only the wrong seats!
If I'll be lucky to get tickets for Oberhausen, see you there (not much hope but perhaps 'another crazy dream that just might come true').
Ulla

Hi Chris,
after hearing your new album for a week now, it's growing on me! At first I didn't like it too much! Too much 'mainstream' pop I thought, only 'Lebanese Night' was love at first hearing. But now there are some more songs I like. Hope to hear them tomorrow in Dortmund, but also a lot of the older stuff! So see you tomorrow, look out for flame red hair in the fifth row near the stage!!!

Hi Chris, just listening to some of your songs lately and some are really hitting home and affecting me emotionally, making me realise that at the moment far across the seas from here that we really are in troubled times, and facing a lot of uncertainty and I pray to God that the so called leaders of the world come to their senses soon.
Eastern Wind,Borderline,Say Goodbye To It All, The Leader-The Vision-What About Me? seems very appropriate at the moment.

Help! It's all too clear: bitten by the *CdeBug*...

My home town and he surrounding area have been hit by some peculiar spectacle lately: a little black car, racing along at top speed, reverberating and pulsating like mad, with the stereo turned up and the window down - the woman at the wheel singing her heart out, grooving and twitching in her seat, with the expression on her face alternating between a transported look and some sort of silly transfigured smile (guess I'm lucky the police haven't stopped me yet :)...).

So how's that? Since the release of the album last Monday I must have played it... um... more than once... *mghgm-mghgm* that is, to be more precise... well... in fact repeatedly - at full volume *boom biddy boom*, blissfully jiving around the house in an attempt to finally overcome the severe withdrawal symptoms that had been manifesting themselves for some time now. - Until hubby started to give me funny looks... Which is why now I take the CD on the road with me and listen wherever I go.

I'm actually running a scientific research project ;) - the question being: how long can a person be exposed to the same aural experience over and over again without suffering harmful effects on their mental health [side note to self: people reading this will think it's happened to you already! - Self: Oh?! So what the h***...!]?
Seriously though, I haven't got tired of it yet! Hence, fair warning: many more people around these parts are likely to witness this weird apparition described above these days... - watch out, Cologne!
B%)

P.S. And just in case the experiment fails: does anyone know a remedy??
P.P.S. Maybe I should just sit back for a while and quietly enjoy staring at that CD sleeve, drifting off to exotic places (- the sunny ones that is).

Dear Chris
Thankyou for writing 'You Are The Reason' a few years a go I had a serve mental breakdown, and that song i played over and over. The more I listen to it the more I realised that i should not take my own life. That song and the lyrics gave me a reason to carry on with my life. Even now it still gives reason to carry on. Thank you again for so many hours of fantastic
pleasure of listening to all your work.
Love Kathie

Dear Chris,

My first concert was a few years back in the Kings Hall. Until then I was very anti Chris but when there I was amazed by the concert you gave.
I then attended the concert in Nov 2000. Again you gave a preformance like no other. That year my wife pounched to the front and danced for the last thirty minutes.
I have just returned from your latest concert here in Belfast was still very impressed. Although I felt you were not as good as the last visit you still gave an excellent concert. Only once in nearly three hours of singing did you or the band seem to be on the wrong key. It was in 'Oh My Bravehearts' (sorry the title escapes me) you or the band was not in the same key.
But that aside every song sounds exactly like that they do on the albums which is a testament to a superb voice. Three hours of singing is surely a cut above the rest keep her lit Chris and please more visits to Belfast not just when a new album is on the horizon!!!

Hi Chris,
I'm very happy about the publication of your new album. I am a fan since about 1985 and have been on every concert in Dortmund /Westfalenhelle since 1987. Now I'm pleased to be in Dortmund again next week. But as i got teh tickets, they told me that there would be no püossibility to stand (dance, ....) during the concert, all the room will be full of seats. For me it was an offence because if this concert is as great as all the others, I will not be able to sit on a chair all the time...
Nevertheless, I am happy to see you in concert next week...
Yours,
Ute

"Sooner or later all good things come to your heart, in life - it's a waiting game."

*Phew* - at long last the new album came out here yesterday. Me on Monday, 9 a.m.: *zoom* to shop in town - *whoosh* back to car - *tear/zip/rip* opening the package - *fling* CD into machine - and ... WOW *beam*!!!
As I had already suspected, my favourite track so far is "Guilty secret" (and as far as I remember that's the first time that the first single release is the one I like best).

Yes, yes, yes! I've been clamouring for this very thing, and I'm beside myself to see it happen: a song that will really rock the dance floor, released as a single again!!
Chris, I've always had a really soft spot for your more up-tempo, high energy music, such as "Love's got a hold on me", "Ballroom of romance", "Talk to me", "I love the night", to mention just a few. I can see us now, dancing our socks off at the upcoming concerts :). Also looking forward to seeing that megawatt smile of yours as you're enjoying yourself on stage :D!

Only 9 days to go...
Love & laughter. B *bouncing in anticipation*

just have to say some words about the shows we've seen in Ireland last weekend...It's been such a great party down there in Wexford! As Chris mentioned, he had probably known everybody in the theatre, and I bet he was right.
I've loved to hear the new songs live finally, although I missed "Room in this heart" which is one of the best, I think...but people had great fun. But what about you people in Belfast? Can't you wait til a show is over before you leave the venue?? Come to Germany and see how a party is being celebrated :-))

I'm glad to find all of the cover versions gone, except "Hey Jude", because it gives more room to Chris' own songs, but I'm totally sad that most of the songs besides the new ones are still the same as they were during the last tour. For those of us who go to more than one concert (which is true for more than Chris might think) it's gonna start to be boring a bit...and the fact that there are two new guys in the band (hello, how are you?) had been a chance to practise new stuff. Can't be too difficult for professional musicians...I really hope that the set will change a bit for Germany, as we have seen many more of Chris' concerts down the years than the fans in Ireland did. At least the solo part should be a tribute to old briliant songs...

However, that won't stop me from seing as many concert as I can, to have a good time with friends. And the more fans I meet, the more I feel that they all belong together somehow.

"Carry on" !!!!

Chris de Burgh is my favorite musician since 1982, since I have got my first walkman. Everytime when a new album has been released, I think I must have been the first one in Austria who buyed the album like yesterday.

To Chris de Burgh I would like to say Thanks for the next fine collection of your songs!

hey Chris,
It's really great listening to you every second, your songs are always on, they're my favorite, especially your last album with Elissa, maybe i am lebanese, but it's the fact that i liked your album including Lebanese nights, but one question i would love to ask or ask for, i want the lyrics of "Lebanese Nights" i searched your site for it but couldn't find it!
anyway, it's really nice sending you comments and know i am really one of your FANS... special ones!
wish you the best!

'Tis the sheer joy,
the delight,
the appreciation
to hear Chris' voice
in all kinds of situations.
The vibration,
the love,
the light coming through -
clear sound forming words
that are healing, too.
So my heart
calls out in joy once again,
to say thank you
- oh thank you -
my dear old friend!

CdeBwitched again...

Just listened to the last album track - SAVE ME !! (As for me, I'm afraid it's much too late though ;) ...)
Listening to the songs in quiet, alone with my pc, only confirmed the first impression I got when hearing them at the bustling Phantasialand in Bruehl on 19 July:

I've seldom come across a greater collection of, as we say in German, "Ohrwuermer", i.e. songs that immediately worm their way through your ear and into your head as it were. They sort of grab you and cling to you right from the beginning and you just can't seem to shake them off - like it or not ;) ...
For example, my poor husband (!?) has had to endure some more or less unrestrained exuberant "musical performances" of mine recently: "One touch is all it takes..." :). I actually found myself singing while doing my boring habitual supermarket rounds: "There is nothing that the eye can't see...". Also felt a strong urge the other day to start chanting at the doctor's waiting room: "Oh it's alright, 'cos we've got time - a good thing's worth waiting for..." :)). In fact I've been either singing or humming several of the songs non-stop lately %).
Catchy tunes and snappy rhythms - it's true, this album is made of strong stuff. Very infectious!!

Wishing Chris, the band and the whole entourage a fantastic start of the tour in Wexford tomorrow. You lucky Irish people! (Meanwhile I'll console myself with the thought that we only have to wait another fortnight over here.)
Have fun! And good timing - always!! B

Hi,

I just listen to some sample of new album "Time Is Everything" but it seems so good like previous albums. I am originally from IRAN but I live in USA. When I was in my country I always has problem to find the original Chris De burgh's CDs but still it is possible to find the new Chris de burgh album or his old songs because many people in IRAN really like Chris De Burgh. But here in USA I have still problem to find Chris CDs. First I don't know why he is not so famous in USA and then always his CDs come too late in USA or prices so high! So still hard to find all his CDs and buy his new albums. Anyway thanks for your new great songs. I hope I Can find this new album as soon as possible. And finally Chris knows that many people around the world love you. Good luck Chris!

Hi Everyone -

Have not been on this site i a while.
Just wondering if Marianne is still around (I know you are living in Australia now), haven't had a letter from you in a year or more. Plus did not know if there was anyone else who knows me on here. I'll just let all catch up,(and for those who don't know)
my wife and I met through the Chris de Burgh fan club (the old one) 17 years ago. I lived in England and my wife deb in the United states. We have been very happily married for 11 years now and living in the States. We are always extremely busy with one project or another.

Just wanted to take the time once more to thank Chris (even though we have done it before in person) for bringing to very happy (and thanks to God) lucky
people together for life!

This is a wonderful site keep up the good work.

Take care

An American friend

Interesting. Anyway, love your music now and I'm 49
