Hi! Chris,
I went to see you in Cardiff..thanks to a very special friend who went with me..... It was my first concert beause I have had to wait for the hospital to allow me to go because of my epilepsy......GREAT CONCERT....I only had one problem and that was the big flashing Spot light at the front of the stage......by the end of the concert they were starting to effect my epilepsy.... But I live to tell and will deffently go to a concert on the next tour..... As long as I can get someone to go with...... Downside of epilepsy is making sure you have got someone to go with to a concert......But I am sure I can find someone....

Dear Chris,
it must be such a privilege to be able to make music like you do, and to write those beautiful and touching lyrics that always make me and so many other people covered with goosebumps and tears in my eyes! You are absolutely the best!
I am 19, I am from Holland but I live in Spain now, and have been a big fan since I first heard your cd Love songs on a Holiday in Turkey 5 years ago...I just can't keep myself from buying your cd's.
One request: COULD YOU PLEASE ALSO COME TO THE SOUTH OF SPAIN??? I have never been able to go to one of your, what I heard from friends, spectacular, impressive and unforgettable concerts! I would love to see you here one day! And if I can give you a suggestion, the open theatre in Alhambra, Granada would be perfect for your style of music!!!
Love,
Sandra

Never in my life did I think we would be fortunate enough to actually see Chris in concert! How lucky we were that he was playing in Germany when we were visiting friends there. The concert in Erfurt was amazing!!! I have never had the experience that someone was truely playing for us, for our absolute enjoyment. He really cared that we were being entertained. We have been admirors of Chris for such a long time(20 years?). Thank God we bought the new cd there---haven't seen it anywhere around here! Thanks, Chris, for an unforgettable experince!!!!

I think that a lot of your songs are poetic, and i like poetry to some extent,i even made some adjstments to CRUSADER and even made it more poetic, uptill now the only song i heard that caught my attention from the first second was FATAL HESITATION,i think it is a great song, though people don't talk much about it as they do about LADY IN RED!
Anyway, keep the good work up,who knows?Maybe someday we can work on an album together, though i'm young enough to be your son,but we all started this way!
By the way,i'm a drummer,i'm also into song writing, poetry, prose and directing.
I might not be a pro yet,but the one thousand mile road begins with one step...so keep those bloody feet walking!

Alison,I know what you mean about so many of the songs on Chris' CD hitting so close to home. Several of them I feel were written because Chris was looking deep into my soul. Isn't it amazing that he has that effect on so many of us. Chris must stay in tune with the real world, feeling what everyone out there feels. Thanks, Chris, for a great CD.

Hi Chris,
We are just recovering from a fantastic 2 weeks attending most of your UK concerts !! Also 3 in Germany and 1 in Holland !! Yep we know we are mad...we have been told often enough...but you are worth it :-) We know that on the first part of your UK leg of the tour, you were really ill with a bad throat infection-but despite the good advice of a doctor to rest--you carried on regardless, and although you were so ill you still gave it 'your all'. No one would have known you were ill. You are a true professional, you really are.
The highlights of the tour for us were without a doubt, Bournemouth where the atmosphere was electric and we were allowed to stand up and dance from Revolution onwards :-) , Brighton, where there was a 'domestic'!! and then you so kindly talked on the phone to a guy in Australia, Plymouth, what a finale to the tour and also to be lucky enough to 'meet' you in the hotel afterwards.....what a fantastic end to a great 2 weeks !!, Cologne and of course The Royal Albert Hall where it is always magnificent...and whow was the first row of seats that close to the stage and you ;-)... I (Chris) have not been the same since !!!
And 3 cheers to the boys in the band who were excellent as usual, especially Al Vosper with his acting in 'Save Me' everynight !! Tim and Gary have gelled in real well.
Chris before I go, I have to say that through you and your music we have met and made many friends all over the world and this we thank you for from the bottom of our hearts. Your plans for next year sound very different and exciting and we look forward to being able to see you in concerts yet again:-)
best wishes,
Chris and Stewart.
PS:Good luck with the independant record label next year. Hope it all works out well for you.

When is her helicopter due to land? Maybe there's something to place in a christmas stocking. PS. She shouldn't worry, it was a while ago I realized she was maybe deeply involved from the start, but I'm trying to keep my promise not to make trouble, if the game behind my back continues, though, I may still want to get out, now she'd better stay cool or count me out. - To the Chris the Artist, not perhaps the hippest modern style around but good tunes with a professional touch anyway. There's much worse music around.

I must say the concert in Cardiff was the best one i've ever attended. It was my third cdeb concert I've been to, the other 2 were in Canada, and was it ever amazing. The main difference IMO was the Welsh and English fans were more knowledgeable of all the songs and they seen to get more into it than the Canadians. Making the trip from the States was more than worth it, in more ways than one ;). It seemed to me "The Best That Love Can Be" got the best responce from the crowd and if its possible to release that one in the States, I believe you'd have a huge American hit on your hands.
Well we hope to see ya soon here in the States but if not I'll go whereever for the next tour.
Cheers,
Thomas

A fantastic show in Plymouth on 17 November - a first for me. I have listened to Chris' music but now wish I had been more aware of his tours and experienced previously the wonderful atmosphere created in his live performances. I left the Pavillions on a tremendous high! Thank you to Chris and the super band for ensuring we all had such a great night.Realise that was the end of a long tour but do hope there will be more events not too far off.
Best wishes

Saw Chris in Cardiff 16/11/02 and had a fantastic time yet again. I have never been disappointed with any performance whether with the full band, the new smaller band or on his own. Love the new album - Timing is everything - there is always at least one track on an album that makes you feel the song has been written about your circumstances at the time. This new album knocked me for six with the number of appropriate tracks! Chris has done it yet again! Look forward to the next album with anticipation.

Hello Chris and the band
What a fantastic night I had on Friday at the BIC in Bournemouth another excellent concert and they just seem to get better and better. I have only missed one concert in Bournemouth since 1988 which was the year my son was born only approx four weeks after the concert so didnt risk going to that one or he may have been born there.
Keep up all the good work and the enjoyment you bring to the many of us . I brought a friend along who had never been to one of your concerts before but will definately becoming next time.
Till the next time you are in Bournemouth
Take care best of luck for the rest of the tour

I witnessed Chris do a stunning performance at Plymouth Pavilions last evening ( November 17th ). He was amazing, and the band gave a superb performance too. I have been going to Chris's concert for over 20 years, and he still gives 100%. I spoke with people after the show who had never seen him perform live before, and they were stunned, amazed and said how brilliant he was. Chris de Burgh is unique, it hard to believe there could ever be another singer like him.

Hi Chris
I just want to thank you for a brillant concert at Plymouth Pavilions. you were superb, a great unforgetable night. I really liked The Best that Love can be and Another Rainbow from the new album. It was also great hear old classics like Revolution and Ferryman. This may sound corny, but I was up at the front dancing at the end - the first time in 5 concerts that I have done that and it made me feel like a teenager again.
Please don't leave it 24 years before you come back to Plymouth, Come back soon to the West Country soon

Have just seen your concert at the BIC in Bournemouth. This was the first time my husband and I have seen you live in concert. We both have to say you concert was the best live performance by any artist we have ever seen. You gave your all - and what a great talent. May you carry on for years to come entertaining your many fans. I can't wait for next year's tour news. We will be attending as many concerts as we can!
The only "blight" of the evening is that shortly after the concert began many, many people left their seats to stand in the centre aisle - where myself and my husband were sitting. As my husband has a bad leg from a motoring accident he cannot stand for any length of time - hence the front aisle tickets we had purchased. Because of these fans standing (and allowed to stand there for the whole of the concert - fire hazard also) most of our expected good view of you singing was not to be. This was a great disappointments.

Hi Chris,
Yes, we have tickets again for your concert in february. Thank you so for singing Carry Me and Streets of New York at the concert in Rotterdam.
So many tears were rolling that evening, because a friend of us died 3 weeks before your concert. His wife,Remmie, was with us, I think she cried by every song, never mind. In february we can listen again to your beatiful songs.
We, Remmie, my husband Arjan and I are looking forward the 14 february.
Your are a great person, singing songs going right to the heart.

Just wanted to thank you and the band for a fantastic night on Friday evening, what an amazing concert in Bournemouth - even more amazing than December 2000. As usual your performance was out of this world and I will treasure the experience forever and I am still buzzing ! ! !
What a babe your pianist is - I felt like a teenager when he gave me a wink and a smile.
It was a truly remarkable evening and we can't wait for you to come back and perform again.
Enjoy the rest of your tour and I hope Bournemouth continues to be the "very best audience"

Saw you at Bournemouth in the Windsor Hall, and I thought you were fantastic your show was just outstanding, and full of old favourites as well as the lovely songs from your new album. What impressed my partner most of all, and he has never come with me before was that you gave your all, and were on stage through the whole show, even when your band went for a break you carried on making us all feel very happy.

Chris,
What can I say, I've just been to the concert at the BIC in Bournemouth and it was Brilliant! I first saw you at the RDS Dublin for the Man on the Line tour and have seen you many times since but last night surpassed them all. Mind you, your costing me a fortune as my Wife and 11 year old daughter have now been converted to your music and insisted in going along - whats more they are even enjoying your older records such as Crusader, Far Beyond these Castle Walls etc.
Can I just say Good Luck with your new Record Label and I hope you use the Website as much for promoting your new records and tours as you have with the 'Timing is Everything' album.
Thanks for a superb evening.

Hi Chris
What a wonderful performance you gave at the NEC Arena, Birmingham, 9th November 2002 - despite your bad throat. It was lovely to hear all the old songs including Sailing Away and Borderline. A bit sad you never sang Diamond in the Dark, never mind perhaps you will next time. Lebanese Night was brilliant - so much so could'nt wait to play your new CD. Your style of songwriting is unique - don't ever change! Looking forward to the next concert.

Hey Chris:
I saw you for the first time at the Queen Elizabeth Centre at the CNE in Toronto. The venue only holds about 3000. You were a puppy and I am guessing it was 1976 or 1977 but will never admit to it.
It was an exciting time for me to have "discovered" an up and comer. I introduced my girlfriend to your music, we later saw you at Massey Hall (bigger venue) and Maple Leaf Gardens (really big, You da man!). We married in 1985 and played you at our wedding.
Now I am teaching my young kids about what is important and you are still there. If you are ever in Toronto give a call. We have an ill furnished basement with your name on it.

Just want to add my praises to the other voices here for the Birmingham NEC concert on the 9th. I wasnt sure if i would actually make it due to illness in the family (as per earlier posts!) but i did and was able to bring my sister in law who is a huge C e B fan. It was a fabulous night and we had a great time - and even spotted one or two people I know who i didnt know would be there!! (What are the chances of that in such a huge crowd??)Thanks Chris for a very memorable night - and it was fabulous to be on the front row. Love Debbie Austin

Hello Chris
I went with my friend to your show at Paris Olympia on Oct,28th,2002. She had introduced me to your songs that I didn't know a lot (except, of course, for "The lady in Red"). I REALLY enjoyed your show. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere of simplicity that emanated from the whole performance. we were far from the big de-humanized concerts. By the way your french is very good. The new album is very good too.
The funny thing is that my Friend Caroline told me that you were (and still are), her preferred singer when she was 17. She managed to transmit the taste for your songs to me, and I don't regret it. Keep on making good music as long as possible. If you can answer, we would be pleased to hear from you. All The best from us two.

Hei Chris!
Thank you for your new album! It's wonderful and not as the usual commercial sh*t which is produced today! The track "Lebanese Nights" really shows that you are a cosmopolitan man...what you should be as a singer! I read something about your grandmothers castle and I have to say that you still have been a normal person, although your popularity! Well done!
Best wishes, and may we here your beautiful voice for many more years!

Hi Chris,
on the 14th of october I was in your concert at ICC in my hometown Berlin. It was the greatest event since 1999 for me. Once (1990)I met you and your wife in front of your house in Ireland. This was unforgetable to me. Your ballads and songs brought me through good and bad times. And always when I had your music I knew this is life how it is...
Thank you! Hope I will visit more of this wonderful events in the future,
good luck for you and all your companions,

We saw you at the NEC on Saturday. You were brilliant as always!
The sound quality was excellent and the lighting fantastic.
We were seated on the floor in the middle and were horrified to find that we were obviously sitting amongst dead people.
We were desparate to stand and dance and were only too grateful for you inviting us to do just that because no one could stop us!
Glad the crowd got going eventually.
I have been to every tour over the last 14 years or so and have never experienced a crowd like it - we enjoyed it and definateldy couldn't sit still in our seats - you were great, the album is surely one of your best and can't wait to come again!

I am still 'recovering' from the concert on Saturday at Birmingham. This has to be the best of the many C de B concerts I have attended. Chris you were just AMAZING - a true professional.
You did so well to perform when you must have been feeling so rough with the throat infection. THERES ROOM IN THIS HEART TONIGHT has to be my favourite track on the new cd. It was great to see you get off the stage and
meet some of your fans-Unfortunately I was not quite close enough to shake your hand- so I hope you plan to do the same next year!! Congratulations to all the guys in the band too-they did an excellent job. See you in 2003

I loved it. The words were just great. Loved all the new ones too. I'd bought the album before the concert so knew the words to sing along to!
Thought you did great, considering the sore throat!

The woes and joys of attending CdeB's concerts...
I returned from my second triple dose of concerts last week, completely whacked, but at the same time extremely happy - strange, huh?!
I was in a pretty miserable state indeed: aching and stiff, hands swollen thick from clapping, a sore hoarse throat, black&blue with bruises from knocking against seats and elbows, dehydrated and sleep-deprived... (Yes Chris, I know you're exhausted too, but YOU are getting payed for it ;) !).
And on top of all that here's a list of people fully deserving of unrelenting attack by wild boars, rabid pit bull terriers and African killer bees for their crimes against humanity ;) :
#1 the people who chatter away, giggle or sing loudly and distinctly out of tune while others try to enjoy quiet melodious ballads,
#2 the guy selling beer in the front rows of the Kölnarena,
#3 the person or persons responsible for putting chairs in the flat floor areas of most venues.
(I'm thinking of sending my cousin Ernie after those guys ;) ...)
This has been said before but I do have to repeat it: in some places we were subjected to the cruellest torture, tied down to our seats for almost two thirds of the show :( . How on earth can you be supposed to sit still whereas things are really stirring on stage and the rhythm just tears you away?? "Guilty secret", "Living in the world", "Brave hearts", the "Talking beds"-song or "Revolution"... - all whilst the literally "captivated" audience is about to explode!! At least being stuck in the tiers gave us a chance to perfect the art of dancing on one's butt *ouch*... Oh boy! What a release when you finally get the signal to get up and crowd in front of the stage! Because that's the only genuine concert feeling: pushing, sweating and more or less hysterical cheering all around (btw, sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes :) !).
Chris, we don't want seated concerts until you've reached an age when you might prefer to do the show sitting down yourself!! Meanwhile, let us move/breathe/feel/live the music through and through!
However, in spite of all the torment I must admit that some of it may even have increased the pleasure, - makes you beg for more in fact... *whoops* (but I think I'm digressing...).
Anyway, it was absolutely thrilling to share many hours full of energy, passion and fun with you, Chris, and thousands of others. Only one example: this special new version of "Sailor" is simply... *scouring the Thesaurus for superlatives but none of them seems suitable*... mmmh :)) ! As always, your soulful performances were a real treat!

We've heard your songs again and again, and in a very special way your songs tell our own reality "We are devided form the start for we cannot live together and we cannot live apart"

It was my Dad that introduced me to your music many years ago, and now on Monday, I'm bringing him to the Albert Hall to see you. The last concert he went to was to see Roy Orbison (1959 i think) so I can't wait to see his face when he hears all his favourite songs live!
He loves your 'story' songs and his favorite song line ever is 'saddle me the black, I'll meet you down below' so if your do sing The Traveller I think he'll pass out! Can't wait to see you again.Keep on doing your thing. Much love, Becky (& Mike!) XXX

Lebanese nights is the best tune you sing Chris but I much prefer Cliff Richards 'For whom the bell tolls' which he sang at his reading concert last year (the 16th Cliff concert I've been to).
I hope to visit one of your concerts next year
Love

went to Nottingham Arena last night for your concert. We were a little unsure as the venue had turned out to be too large and the stage was moved forward quite a lot. But it was FANTASTIC.I loved the music and what a nice guy!!

Since 20 years I hear and love the songs and the voice from CdeB. In this time I visit a lot of concerts and this year I saw him in Regensburg and Munich (specially this was great). But I think it was not enough, so I hope he comes back next year to sing his new and his old songs. It was great to hear the very old songs and thinking of the past. (But I am not so very old) I hope we can enjoin his music a very long time ago.
With the best wishes for Chris de Burgh, his family and the band
