Hello Chris, I've been a fan for a long time and just bought your latest Cd of hits. Your song Up Here In Heaven is sensational. I play it over and over. I gather it takes place during ww11 but I get a feeling from a past life experience, of being in Scotland and fighting off the invaders. Strange as sounds, maybe bc I just visited there in 1999 and Ireland too.
Would like to see you in concert in the USA near BAltimore one day. Keep up the great song writing.

Take care

Dear Chris, i need your help. my eldest daughter, Beccy, has severe special needs (dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, and a specific language disorder) which means that she has to go to a specialist school whic caters for all these difficulites. Our Local education authority pays one third of the bill, but this leaves with a substantial amount to fund ourselves. so fa we have been able to do this with loans, help from family members and some charitites. However, Beccy's final year at school is in jeopardy because we have been unable to find any more funding. as a fan ( i have seen you in concert in Kiel germany twice) and avid collector of all you songs i hope you can help. i know that you have already helped one school in Ireland. i have listed a website where you can see Beccy and there is some info about the school she attends and what her specific difficulites are. i hope you get this letter and that you can help her. many thanks, Penny

Hi Chris,
My Husband and I attended the concert in Halifax,N.S. on April 5 and it was marvelous, well worth the 5 1/2 hour drive from our home in Fredericton,N.B. You performed for three hours to an arena filled with truly appreciative fans and fulfilled everyones expectations with a mix of old clasics and songs from the new album. The band was extremly talented and complemented all of the songs that they played on and the solo portions by You had the crowd standing and cheering. It will be an evening that I shall always remember.

Hi Chris!
It´s me again.
I´m looking very forward to seeing you in Kassel at the Eisstadion on the 6th of May. I guess you will be playing the "Ferryman", don´t you?!?? Perhaps we´ll meet after the show. I would be very glad if I could get to know you personally (although I know I´m not the only one....). Bye for now and see you in Kassel!!

Hi Chris...Saw you at the Concert in London, Ont (at Centennial Hall)in April 2000. You started at 7:30 and sang 'til 10:45, without a break. (Not bad for a guy who's the same age as me!)

I have followed you since I lived in England almost 20 years ago. My younger brother saw you as a warmup to Supertramp at the Coventry Theatre in 1978 and bought your LP (that's how it was back in those days, crackly LP's). And I got hooked.....I have every album published including Quiet Reolution.

If I could be blessed with having a singing voice (which unfortunately I do not) I would want a voice like yours.

If I could be blessed with a talent to write songs, I would want your skills in bringing the important parts of life to the masses in a way that only you can do.

Terrific songs, terrific music....may it go on forever.

Come back to London real soon Chris.

Best Regards......Pat

Hi Chris,
When you were in Malta in Dec. 1989 I had the privelage of meeting you while I was entertaining round the tables in a restaurant in St.Paul's Bay and you were having lunch there with your drummer (from Los Angeles ?)Someone there requested I play 'Lady In Red'and you said,"Go ahead". I felt very nervous but you complemented me when I finished the song and added, ".....but you left two chords out. Let me show them to you". I gave you my guitar (halfway through your meal!!) and you showed me the passing chords I had missed. I'll never forget that day and I have a fantastic photo with you taken in that restaurant which I keep in my guitar case all the time.
It was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for the great music you've produced through the years.

My wife and our two best friends were fortunate to have seen Chris perform at Centenial Hall April 12. It was the first time I had seen Chris in concert, though I have been avidly listening to his wonderfully crafted songs since Crusader.

I have yet to hear any other artist that is able to move me as Chris has. From the rowdy Patricia the Stripper to the hauntingly beautiful Borderline to the stirring Eastern Wind, and all songs in between, Chris has woven worlds in his music that capture and enthrall the listener. As a dad myself, I find that his songs to his children just put me away. I just can't keep a dry eye when they come on.

I'm sure I can speak for my wife and our friends Edward and Susan when I say, "Thank you Chris! We eagerly look forward to your next visit to London. God Speed."

Dear Chris and fellow fans,

I've been listening to C de B since '82 or '83 when Don't Pay The Ferryman played briefly on American radio stations. When I went to England in '85, I bought every de Burgh album available. I took them home to Georgia and played them nonstop. One day I went down to the basement and found my little sister and her friend, both age 9, stripping to the song Patricia! I never laughed so hard in my life (Afterwhich I told them I hoped they never did it again). Needless to say I converted her and several other siblings, as well as many friends to Chris' music. Quiet Revolution is my favorite album since Spanish Train and Crusader. Thanks!

Thanks for the website too. It's nice to know other American fans exist. I wish we could have a chance to hear Chris live, but I guess the vague hope of it always gives us something to dream about.

Thanks for almost twenty years of thought, relaxation, and inspiration. Chris' music has carried my through high school, college, countless moves, many jobs, marriage, and three children. It has been a stabalizing constancy in my life. I will never "outgrow" his music.

One last note: If there is anyone "in the know" out there, please answer a question for me. I am an aspiring writer and have written an adolescent novelette based on a Chris de Burgh song. How do I obtain copywrite permisison to publish it?

A devoted fan, Ellie

Dear Chris,

Seeing you in Toronto, April 11/00 has been the highlight of this year so far. My sister and I have been fans for...twenty years!!! but we have never let you know how much your music means to us. When our mom died, your music brought the needed tears, when I was far away from home, your music was my comfort and connection. Many times in our lives your music has been there for us,thank you. We enjoyed Quiet Revolution for about a week before the concerts and sung along with all the new and the old favorites. Please continue to listen to us, the fans and come back to Canada soon, pay no attention to the stupid reviewers who don't know good music when it slaps them in the face. Merci aussi pour la chanson en francais.
We love you, come back soon!

Chris, if just all the men in the world would just take a minute and take a listen at your song "A woman's heart" . . .

I was able to fly up and attend the Toronto concert on 4/11/00. I truly felt I was among friends. To say it was awesome was an understatement. This is the first time I have seen him, but certainly not the last! In 1987, when he toured, I was backpacking through Europe, and kept missing him. No more; now I'll go to him. It was absolutely wonderful!! Please, if anyone was there, write to me at:celticoutlander@hotmail.com. Thanks!

My husband and I have been fans for many many years. We last saw you in concert in Hamilton, Ontario many years ago and couldn't wait to see you again. Well the wait was finally worth it as we attended your concert in London, Ontario on April 12/00. You are still absolutely amazing and your show was fantastic. It made us young again. We introduced my girlfriend Marily to your music and she loves you now as much as we do. We appreciate your taking time from your family to spread your music around the world. More performers should be as personable as you are. Your music will live on an on with us. You are truly touched by God with your music. Your band is amazing also. Hi Chris!

I just saw you for the fourth time in Montreal on April 7th. It was the best concert I have ever seen. The three hour show just flew by, it felt like about an hour... I have never seen anyone interact with the audience as well as you do. It almost felt like we were in a small pub, not the Molson Centre. Come back soon, you'll always be welcome in Montreal, and I hope to see you in Ireland some day...

You are a few years older than I and I wonder where you get your energy for a 3 hour concert. We have four children and they all have attended with us. Great new CD Quiet Revolutions well worth waiting for. I also received your new US release today via mail order. Just had to hear your Lady Dianna song There,s a new star up in Heaven tonight. I sure if you had released it Elton John's would have taken second place. Please do not leave it too long before you come back to Nova Scotia.

Cher Chris,

I've been a fan of yours for a very long
time: When I was 16, I used to sing your
song to learn how to speak English! You
have been such an inspiring teacher...

Over the years, I have seen four of your
shows: three in Montreal and last night
in Toronto (April 11). As usual, you're
so amazing! For three solid hours you
brought peace to my heart and tears in
my eyes. You are such a story teller
and you find the right words for people
to reach in.

Je suis très contente de ta chanson
"Quand je pense à toi", version fran-
çaise de "When I think of you". Quelle
belle pensée pour tous les francophones
qui t'apprécient depuis si longtemps...

Merci et reviens-nous vite!

Hi,
I was at the concert in Toronto yesterday (apr 11) and wanted to say that it was brilliant. Your voice, lyrics and energy, your bands talents and voices and music fills my heart and makes it soar. Seeing you performing live (as apposed to dead)and fairly up close is truly amazing, watching your energy and enthusiasm is uplifting and gives me hope when I'm down.

I have seen you in concert quite a number of times, and always come away with a great feeling, and glad to be alive.

I have listened to your music as long as I can remember and a constant in my record/tape/cd collections!

I want to praise the band members as well, the guitarists were brilliant, pianist and drummer were amazing!
(and good looking boys they are!)

Thank you for your music!

Come back to Toronto sooner than 3 years, you know we love you here.

Sincerely,
Kira Maslow

Dear Chris,

Thank you for the amazing concert last friday in Montreal!

I also want to thank you for dedicating "Here is your paradise" to me and my horse, it meant the world to me...
I tried to find someone who filmed your concert through TV stations, but they only had the right to film the first three songs...
I would have licked having at least the audio so I could treasure that memorie for the rest of my life!
They tell me to ask your management! So I am asking!

I spent the following day with my horse, told him all about our meeting and sang to him "The traveller".

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart!

allready now i`m 30 years old. Since I`ve been 15 i`m a Fan of Chris de Burgh.
I`ve been at your concerts in Friedrichshafen (3X); in Memmingen (1x) and last but not least in Stuttgart Schleyerhalle in 1999!

In Memmingen I met you in the hotel after the concert. One of the other concert visitors took a picture of us.

Chris de Burgh, the other women and me. She told me, she send the photography to me, but she didn`t. And I´m still angry about this. But we will meet us at your next Concert in Stuttgart or Friedrichshafen or everywhere else near my home.

One of my dream in my life is to visit Ireland. I hope that this dream will become reality in the next few years.

If it is possible i´ll visit a concert of you in your home town.

Yes everybody need dreams and i dream of this.

I hope to hear of you, many greetings from

We went to see Chris' Concert at the Montreal Molson Center last Friday and it was just magical! We have been big fans since the late seventies (even though we were only teeny boppers but quite mature ones might I add.)

Thank you Chris, for being such a beautiful, giving human being and wonderful story-teller.

Hello Chris

I just saw you for the 3rd time in Halifax. You were excellent. I wish you could come to Halifax every year - I'd attend every concert. When your concert was over, after your encores, I was hoping I could attend another one the next night. I'm just not ready to say goodbye for another ... years. I listen to your music all the time, however, it's not the same as watching you perform. Of course your music was fantastic, however, the way you interact with the audience and your sense of humour was even better.

Your music touched a part of my soul I didn't know was still alive. I have this great urge to sit and have dinner with you and talk to you about your songs and your children. I find the stories in your songs fascinating. After I had my first daughter, I spent many hours listening to the lyrics from Rosanna & it described exactly how I felt about my daughter.

Can't wait to see you again. I love you, you're the best.

I just had to write and let you know how much I love your music, I have been a fan for a long time.

Chris

I saw your Halifax performance on April 5th, 2000 and I must say it was the best concert I have ever seen!!! I hope you are able to visit my friendly city again soon.

I just bought an older ablum of yours from 1994 ("This way Up") because you played "Snows in New York" that night. I think it's become my favorite song that you've written.

Best wishes for the rest of the tour.

Last night - April 8th, I went to the Corel Centre in Ottawa, Canada and saw Chris de Burgh. It was an awesome concert! There were shouts of cheers all night long. He is so personable and so friendly. He talked to all the audience. The place was packed and when it was time for Chris de Burgh to finish, we didn't let him. We shouted for him to come back and he did twice and played for another 45 minutes. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!
COME BACK SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON CHRIS!

I loved very much Chris de Burgh's wonderful performance on April 7 at the Molson Center. I also find that Quiet Revolution is the best album yet. I have been a fan for probably all the years I have listened to music, since his music was what my older brother was listening to.
Chris, I hope you come back soon!

I saw the CdeB show on April 7th 2000 it was a great and for me short, because I love all his song so much and 3 hours is short when you like Chris.

I hope he won't wait another 4 years before he comes back.

Thank you Chris for being here.

I was first mystified by your music when you opened for SuperTramp in Kingston, Ontario. You've come along way baby. You are the only musician I can listen to continously and never tire of. It has provided me with comfort, hope, understanding, and inspiration. Never question whether anyone is particularily interested in hearing another album from you. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT!! I have been to all your Ottawa concerts (at least since I moved here)love them all. Makes me 'high on emotion' for several days after. Love the way your concerts are all you and non-stop!! Great concert in Ottawa April 8, 2000... as usual.

Oh yeah... if you could book a place for an all-night musical pyjama party in Ottawa I'm sure it would be a sell out!

Thanks for enriching my life!

Saw Chris in Concert in Halifax last night. It was one of the best moments of my life. His performance was beyond my expectations. A solid 3hrs of new and classics, even a fantastic rendition of Hotel California and Hey Jude. I met him after the show in a bar, he was the most humble man i've ever met. It was indeed an honor. Hope to have him in back in Canada soon

Hi Chris,

Your concert in Halifax on April 5 was superb. You were in great voice, and great form. Your band was awesome! I really enjoyed meeting you at Scotia Square in the bookstore - in case you forgot, I'm the redhead who raved about how much I loved you and your music and have been a fan since I was 9 - I am now 34. I was so excited to meet you that I forgot the fact that I had 10 pens in my purse and never even got your autograph - just meeting you was thrill enough - a memory I will have forever. I'm usually calm and cool but meeting you made my voice quiver and my eyes tear. I just cannot put into words how wonderful it was!!! My kids are fans as well - I'm glad to see that my taste in music has rubbed off on them. If it weren't for the 2-1/2 hour drive home after the concert, my husband and I would've gone to the pub to see you. But having to get up at 6:30 the next morning made it difficult. Even though we only got four hours sleep and dragged our asses around the next day - you were well worth it and we would do it again and again. My husband teases that you are the other man of my dreams - he's right. I'm lucky to have such an understanding soulmate. I look forward to the next time you are in town. Take care and keep those wonderful tunes coming. Thank you for being so sweet when I met you - you are a gentleman indeed!!

Love your friend through music,

Hello all of you CdeB fans all over the word!
Hello Chris!
Greetings from a loyal and faithful fan since the beginning of the 80´s.

I´ve been to your concert in Cologne on November the 20th and it was a great experience.
Your really played quite long!
As I´ve read about the additional concerts in Germany I immediately bought two tickets
for the concert in Grefrath for my brother and me.
Fortunately Christine, a quite good friend of mine and also a great CdeB fan, has got a ticket for this concert as well
and I pray she will enjoy the concert as much as I´ve done in the last two decades.
It will be her third one.

With best wishes
Yours ever
