Hi, I just want to say, that
I love "Lady in Red".
Its a beautifull dream... for every woman ho is in love or wants to be...
I didnt knew that Chis, was born on
Buenos Aires Argentina.
I just meet this friend, ho lives in that same contry, and I sent him, Lady in Red, so he could remeber me, every time he hears the song.

Thank you Chris, for your music.

I am so pleased to have found this site.
My husband sings Lady in Red on Karaoke nighs and got into a local final with it a couple of years ago.
We watched the Champion of Champions final of Stars in Their Eyes last night - we voted for Ian Moor who we think is sensational. We know you have given him your support and he is obviously very grateful for that.
Continue your good work Chris - we look forward to hearing more tracks of yours in the future,

This may or may not be of interest, but I would appreciate your comments!

Someone that I work with has claimed for a number of years now that he is Chris de Burgh's half brother!

His name is John Gorry and says that his parents adopted Chris when he was a boy. He has claimed to have visited Chris in Ireland and to have been with him on stage at some time.

The latest thing he did was to cut and paste a picture of himself onto a picture of Chris sitting at a piano and make it look like a CD cover!

I'm sure it is a load of rubbish, but would greatly appreciate an "official" denial of the above .

Have you got anything which details Chris's early years?

Regards,

Chris Murden

Chris (and family)
My husband, Leigh, and myself first saw you in a tiny theatre in Ipswich, Suffolk in March 1979. We were fans then and have been even bigger fans ever since. I sweet talked a bouncer into giving you a written request and you played 'The Tower' and dedicated it to us. We met you backstage after the show.
Thanks for the autographs and memories. Every time we have been to see you since I cannot get anywhere near you since you became so famous! I feel very proud to have been one of the original fans and loved you way before you ever made 'Lady in Red' and were noticed by some members of the Royal family.
We have even taken our 2 children to see you when they were only 3 and 4, and again when they were teenagers. They have been both weaned and fed on Chris de Burgh since babies.
Saw you twice last year at Blickling Park, Norfolk and Harewood House, Yorkshire. Wonderful! When can we expect you do repeat these performances?
I have converted many friends and family into C de B fans over the last 20 years. I never tire of your music. The story telling is marvellous and when I am feeling down the songs cheer me up. I often wonder what it must be like to be married to a person who can write songs about you and to you in the way that you do for your family. It is nice enough when my husband sings them to me. Keep it up. We love you. All the best. See you in concert again soon, I hope.

Hi Dear Chris

Nowadays here in Iran a book of your
lyrics has been published . Although we
can not access to all of those songs ,
but we enjoy as we read their persian
translations . We(Esmaeil & Mehrdad &
Sasan) think before you are a singer ,
you are a good poet ! , Your poems seem
like the professional poems of Iranian
poets such as "Nima" and "Shamloo" ,...
We don't know how much you are familiar
with persian poems , but we would like
to introduce them to you(if your interested in them).
We wish we could be in one of your
concerts. And hope that one day your
concerts perform here in Tehran !

"Give us your tender hands !"

This is the army
I've just got the time to write.
Remember me, I sang with you at the Montreal Molson Center(september 1996). One thing makes me sad is that my father never got to see me sing. He tries to picture it in his mind but I only wish I could turn back time and have him there with me.
I hope we meet again....I know in my heart: we'll be together in this song for you.

Take care of yourself.

Haven't had chance to investigate the site as yet, as I'm only a part-timer on the internet. Did want to seek out sources for news on Chris' latest work and tours, particularly as pertains to Montreal visits.

How many concerts? I really don't know now, but lots. FC Smith Auditorium at McGill University with about 400 fans in 75-76? Opening for Supertramp at the Forum, and then Montreal was in love with Chris, and Chris' love affair with Montreal was really begun. How many shows after that I don't recall, but I remember when the venue was finally the full Forum (not the concert bowl), and was that a rock and roll show? From the storyteller we all know and love, I saw the rock show of all rock shows, with
no one from Aerosmith to ZZ Top, Pink Floyd to Deep Purple, Ted Nugent to Van Halen, Rush to Judas Priest, having done it better. The side of Chris that brings us to tears was there too, but the Forum rocked to the rafters that night.

There was the outdoor show at Place des Nations, and what a sweet experience that was.

The unfortunate incident where we were all so keyed up for Chris at the Forum Concert Bowl, that we booed Diane Tell right off the stage after one, maybe two songs. (We're still waiting for her to live up to her screaming promise that she'd come back someday with Chris opening for her)

And then in September 96, more than 20 years after my first taste of the magic, I had the incredible experience of seeing the most magical concert of them all with my daughters of 10 and 12, and my son of 7. Long time fans themselves, it was their first ever concert. Believe me when everyone is in tears and singing Hey Jude until I can't remember what time, it was quite an initiation.

Looking forward to the next one Chris?

Come and see our Country Churchyard, its only 45 minutes off the island.

Chris

I've been a fan for many years now , influenced by my older sister who used to play your tapes in her bedroom.

I'll always remeber lying on her bed listening to the likes of Patricia the Stripper.

If I had to pick one song, I couldn't really but at a push I wopuld say Lady in Red......what woman wouldn't want someone to think of her in that way and then write a song about it..

When do you play Ireland, I've never heard of you playing in Ireland but I'll keep my ears open

Quiet Revolutions is excellent

Keep on singing

HI there people

I am so upset that I missed my first British cdeb concert since 1992!!

It sounds like Doncaster was very good and I missed a treat. I wasn't well and as I am seeing Chris in Germany, I felt I should get myself better for then! It was very tempting to travel to Doncaster with a sore throat and temperature!!
I am glad to hear that so much money was raised and I will be putting some towards the charity.
It's so good to know that chris supports such important charities. As a social worker with vulnerable children, I know how much they need help from those who are in the position to.

Anyway - can't wait till November and December!!

WOW!, even an invitation to sing 'Lady in Red' at some (ridiculously brave) guy's wedding...? The nerve? I suppose dinner at my house is out of the question then...?

Dear Chris,

I am an old woman now, the rat race and the kids take a lot of my time. But you have been my companion through thick and thin.
My daughter (5 years old) frequently asks me to sing "Carry on" to her. This is the song that made me discover you and will be with me all my life.
I miss the storyteller.

Joe, you have a most excellent website.
Regardless I am still his greatest fan. Give me a call sometime so we can debate it (850)574-5047.
Chris, if you happen to read this, I must tell you a few things.
The feeling & energy you put in your songs is simply amazing. Your songs make me & countless others feel as if we know you personally, as if you are one of the family. I played "Turning Around" for my ex-wife the other day & she fell in love with you all over again. Its the same way with all your songs. You are the best of the best.

Just came back from the free ASDA supermarket concert in Doncaster, England. It was a great night, raising, in the estimate of one senior ASDA employee, in excess of 10,000 pounds for the NSPCC. Hope the english newspaper, the SUN will now report that instead of trying to use Chris playing a car park as a way of having a go at him.

this is the only sound that makes me feel that I am special and have so many things to hope for life. from the very first time I have explored De Burgh's voice and his songs full of emotion it has been a very personal pleasure for me to travel around among the secret treasures in my mind which seems to be impossible to share with someone else.
anyway, I'll still keep my hopes for it as long as De Burgh keeps feeding my soul with his music.
